I gave this review stars for beautiful location with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking a small river. Other than that, their coffee, tasteless avocado toast, soggy breakfast sandwich, extremely slow WiFi and customer service is so disappointing. I’ve given this place many chances because I want to support local businesses. This last time as their customer, I was just picking up an online order and felt discriminated against because I didn’t have proof of vaccination. I was ordering to go and she was so rude when she asked for proof and loud when we didn’t have it. We waited outside until our order was ready. I understand the mandate and you’re just doing your job, but you don’t need to make a scene in front of other customers and make others feel discriminated against. We all have choice and our personal reasons.

My favorite coffee shop in Bellevue area, so peaceful and gorgeous. Plus, i love Dilettante’s chocolates since forever. I always order either Dark Mocha or Xtra Dark Hot Chocolate, tasted just right. It is one of those quiet coffee shops whose people tend to keep to themselves, mostly working on their laptops or reading. So for those who don’t like busy, loud-music, girls-chattering cafes, this place is just perfect.

I have no idea how they can specialize in chocolate yet make a hot chocolate so bland and yet tasting so uncannily like soap and cardboard. I thought this one would finally be a winner, but it was the biggest disappointment. I ordered a dark hot chocolate with a shot of caramel and it tasted nothing like chocolate (nor caramel). How???The worker taking my order could barely hear me over the crowd of people shouting at each other. The space made every sound deafening. I had to double check the order being put in to restate things they missed because it was just that loud in there. It seems really easy for them to mess up orders because of the architecture and chatty clientele. The breakfast croissant sandwich was alright, but anyone who doesnt like their food to be soggy/soft might want to avoid it. Personally, I dont mind when everything is mushy, but I would see that being an issue for others.Overall, I cannot give enough caution to chocolate lovers considering a trip here. I have yet to try their actual chocolates on their own, but if they taste like the hot chocolate did, I might not even want to try them.

Hidden gem in a quiet corporate park. I appreciated the open but still cozy design inside. The location along the river makes for a very relaxing setting to have an espresso. There a few tables outside as well. You wouldnt know this place existed if someone didnt tell you about it. Its very close to downtown Bellevue, but far enough that its hidden in the trees and away from the noise of the city. If you find yourself downtown and want a unique place to have a coffee and chill for a minute, this is the place.Location and aesthetics aside, the coffee is up to standard. The baristas seem experienced and the froth on my cappuccino was very consistent and properly done. The roast they use wont necessarily win any awards, but it didnt stand out as being subpar and was certainly serviceable. They pride themselves as being a mocha cafe, so they make their own chocolate and focus on various mochas. They have a variety of food options and the roast beef sandwich was a combination of quality ingredients, albeit slightly overpriced for what you would expect from a cafe. That is somewhat to be expected based on the location and proximity of the corporate offices so I cant really knock them for that.Overall, I would I definitely recommend trying this place out if youre in the area. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and ambiance.

Great setting. Terrible dining experience. They didnt have much of the food listed on the menu. And when asked if my daughter could get something off menu, (because they ran out of 3 previous things on their menu my daughter wanted) they charged me the full price as their other sandwiches... $12 for cheese and bread because they are too inept to keep their menu items well stocked.

Love this cafe in the Mercer Slough business Park area, just off SE 8th. I asked for a Caprese Salad today, and the answer was sorry, were out of fresh mozzarella. I love that answer! It means they make the salad themselves. Great covered but open outdoor seating. Ill come back again.

This is a delightful light and airy cafe right on the Mercer Slough. Decent coffee. Unfortunately, they have forgotten the concept that the customer is always right. I have made multiple simple requests on multiple occasions, where I have received a response of “we don’t do that here.” All I wanted was honey in my iced latte, the lady behind the counter would not budge, stating thet it is “against policy.” The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.

This place is huge! Situated in a business park, they must get a ton of traffic. There isnt any competition for them here. It wasnt busy when I went, but that was at an odd time of day. An Oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city. This cafe has the best coffee and the best place for it, like melted chocolate meets blissful therapy.First...the coffee. They mix real melted chocolate into the milk before steaming it. Amazingly better than Starbucks dumping syrup at the bottom of the cup. Dilettante has the best choice of chocolate and great coffee flavor.Second...location, location. This particular Dilettante happens to enjoy being surrounded by splendid trees, moat and nature. Step away from the grey and relax with your perfect mocha in a well designed cafe tucked in beautiful scenery. Did I mention its like therapy for the soul?

The location is beautiful and outside seating great when weather is nice. Water available for customers and bathrooms are nearby.Good variety of items. What is unfortunate is having ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which they state are made fresh daily. Whats unfortunate is having my croissant not cooked through. The inside was dough, uncooked and unpleasant. Would not have written this review if this hadnt been the 2nd time something had gone wrong with my purchase. The sandwiches are good. Coffee is comparable to other cafes. But if you order food to go, especially if its stated they make it fresh daily, check to ensure it is cooked through. I was lucky I noticed this before consuming the croissant and avoided possibly getting sick. Its a nice location and having happy hour available is a great perk in the office Park, but I will not be purchasing food here just in case. The ladies that work the front always super sweet and helpful. Wished the food matched their cheerfulness.

Fabulous coffee, beautiful location, gorgeous decor, perfect for meeting up with friends. Unfortunately some of the food is just okay. Tomato soup is bland and gloppy; broccoli soup had hard bits; sweet dressing on the Greek salad was not good;; pasteries dont taste super fresh. I could go on, but the location and coffee keep this on regular rotation. I still visit this hidden gem least once per week. More and more people are finding out about this place, so just recently there are larger and larger crowds.

Very nice place, friendly staff and the windows all fold in to open up the main area. Beautiful view too, the reason I gave it two stars is because the location is kinda inconvenient and most importantly, the Carmel Frappuccino with vanilla I got was decent at best, the blackberry Danish was equally as bad and to top it off expensive as hell! The person I was with also was very unimpressed with her turkey sandwich & iced coffee. As beautiful as the place was, I wont be going back there

No. I work in the office park where this cafe resides and I will tell you now that it is one of the most overpriced and inconsistent places I have ever eaten. You can order the same sandwich over and over and it is completely different every time--in a bad way. Also the sizes of the portions that they give you for the exact same meals varies wildly as well. What made me finally write a review was when I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese muffin sandwich and they put pizza sausage on it--you know, those little grey chunks of meat they put on pizza? I have ordered this sandwich many times and the sausage was usually the normal disc of meat that actually tastes like breakfast sausage. Its like they have and extremely incompetent team in the kitchen and when sandwiches are priced at $10+ a piece, it had better be made correctly every time. The cafe of course is a very charming place to hang out and if that is all you plan to do there then I highly recommend it.

The coffee might be decent but the customer service is absolutely horrible. We were nothing but nice to the employees. My friend that was with me is vegan and politely asked if the meat could be taken out of the burrito and they said no, so he decided to not order it. They then continued to charge him for the burrito and then make nasty remarks when he politely told them he once again does no want the burrito. He was told “I don’t care, you already paid for it so just take it”. Worst customer service i’ve had in awhile.

Credit card processing was down this afternoon. Cash only. That wasnt the end of the world though, so I ordered an Ephemere Mocha Frappe in their large size (x-something), and dropped a tip in the jar. The drink was delayed being made, and then when it was, the barista over-did the ingredients so that there was another half a drink still in the blender. I felt like I got ripped off on the espresso side of things, since some of my shots were still in that blender. :) Then she also left off the whip and the drizzled sauce on top that they show in their marketing photos of the drink. Ive had better experiences before in there, but today was not up to what it has been, or what I expected, especially for what I paid for the drink. Ill be back for certain, I just hope the service is better next time.

Alright after coming here the last two times the coffee has been good and service has been up to standards. This coffee shop is perfect for working because of its open floor plan with the windows overlooking the river. Sometimes you can even see some animals too, like beavers! There is plenty of seating and it never gets too crowded everytime I have went. Plenty of parking right outside. The location feels secluded but is part of the Bellfield center surrounding by office buildings and has an Urban nature feel. I usually get one of the dessert coffees as I like to put it and theyre always delcious! My favorite is the Vanilla White Mocha. They also offer a wide range of breakfast and lunch pick me ups. Pricing is normal for the Bellevue area. Only downside is theyre not open on the weekends so get your caffeine dose in on the weekdays people.
