I made an appointment here after I was screwed over by another place. The receptionist was very pleasant and extremely helpful. The day of my appointment when I came in she made me feel l had been a customer there for years. The tech was very friendly as well. I saw Dr. Adam and he was amazing... he changed my rx a tad which no one had done for years and WOW, I couldnt believe me eyes(Get it 😃?). Anyway I DID read previous reviews about past visits but I didnt experience anything of the sort. It was a very pleasant experience and I am most definitely pleased. Ive already scheduled an appointment for my spouse and have recommended them to others!

I have been going to Southern Eye Center since 2011, never had a moments trouble. So when my 17 year old daughter needed to go to the eye doctor I sent her to see Dr. Shaw. She did not receive the same service that my wife and I have gotten in the past. The Dr. she saw was rude and made her experience there miserable. She asked me to never send her there again. They changed the brand of contacts she was wearing. Then when she went back to get the brand she has been wearing for years was only given a few as a trials. Then when she went to pick her order up she was told she had to pay for contacts that she did not have. I have taken off of work more than once to deal with this because the office manager Krystal will not return phone calls and can not make a decision on her own. Has to talk to Dr. Shaw about everything. She needs to get a watch because she does not return phone calls in timely manner. If Dr. Shaw wants to improve the office, needs to find a better office manager. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. Just like a previous reviewer I too had to pay for contacts that I do not have. I hope the 75.00 dollars extra really comes in handy to buy the office manager a watch and a new attitude. I will never go back and I will make sure that I tell everyone how my daughter was treated here. Hope it was worth it.

I never write reviews, but after moving to Baton Rouge a couple years ago, I have been apprehensive to go to a new eye doctor. I decided to come here and everyone was so nice! The assistant was so kind and funny, Dr. Pickle was awesome and easy to talk to. He never made me feel rushed at any point. The receptionist (I wish I knew her name) was the best. She was really sweet and even helped me find a rebate for my contacts without me even asking. Definitely recommend coming here!

Theres a lack of care and attention here that lingers in my memory. Dr Shaw didnt introduce herself or receive/remember a note about an issue I was experiencing from her assistant. I have never felt so unimportant to a medical professional. If youre gonna play with my eyes, say hello first. Front STAFF was friendly - go them!

The optometrists are great. My only complaint is that the front desk staff are impossible to reach via phone & pretty clueless. I called to see if they could look up information in my account regarding my contact lenses, which they said to get in touch with my insurance company instead. The front desk girls are either clueless or lazy.

My experience was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to ensure I was pleased with my purchase. The eye exam was thorough and for the first time my lens rx did not need to be adjusted.

Purchased my first set of prescription glasses here, flawless process. Doctors were very nice and everything went smooth and quickly. Front desk attendants are great and had good patience when looking at all the options. Also purchased pair of Oakley sunglasses that I noticed had to scratche on each lense. I mentioned this to them when I was picking up my prescription and they took them back to get sent out for repair. Very pleased with the service and quality of customer service.

I have been going to Southern Eye Center since 2015 everyone from the front desk 𝑎𝑛𝑑 back are so kind and I cant say enough about Dr.Shaw I was late for my appointment and she came back just for me I felt so special 😊😊 everyone is so kind.

If you want a friendly doctor, this isnt the place to go. Dr. Shaw is not very personable. Online my insurance company stated that they were in network, but a month after my visit I was told by Southern Eye Center that they were not. They sent my bill to an incorrect address and when I did finally get the bill it was overdue with a service charge. You can find a friendlier and honest eye doctor elsewhere.

The staff here are so rude and unprofessional. They basically accused me of not paying for a previous order of contacts, which I obviously did pay for considering I picked up the contacts before... I took my business elsewhere and will never return there again.

Best experience ever. The doctor is efficent and friendly. The optical department was wonderful. Love my new eyewear. Trendy, yet age appropriate.

Front desk staff was very friendly but Ann Shaw is the worst most unproffesional doctor I have ever come across. She was RUDE, snappy & seemed extremely irritated by having to do her job. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Its horrifying that people like that work with the public.

I had the worst experience ever in my entire live !! I went to this location because its by my house. I did my appointment on 3/29 I was schedule for today 4/4/18 at 8: 00 am. they send me a txt to confirm on 4/3/18 at 8:06 am and I confirmed. Actually I called them back at 11am to see if they have something else available and Steve confirmed again that they just have 4/4 at 8am. Today I went and since I open the door the lady at the front desk, showed me a racist and demigrant attitude asking me if I had an appointment, did not welcome me at all, I spelled my name and she said I was re schedule for another day and if I want to be helped I need to seat and wait, when I told her nobody called me, she was rude once again and recalled with highier voice tone, that theres nothing she can do. I have my name all the time, I will take to a higher level, you cant not do things like that to the people. I do not recommend this place at all to any one, they made me feel so small and that I dont deserve that treatment for an professional specialist. I will wait for someone to contact me to see what they have to said.Also I do have the calls and txt to confirm my history.

While the staff is friendly, in for a simple cleaning and adjustment, 5 people working, only one can help and she is with a customer for the last 20 minutes. 😳
