I’ve been listening to the podcast for 10 years. Very sad to hear it’s ending, but I’ll still be able to listen over and over again to the most entertaining Automotive program on the air. I looked forward to the new show every week more than any other podcast, always informative and honest. I wish Louis had a shop in New York, best of luck on slowing down and enjoying your semi retirement. Know that you will be missed by thousands of listeners.
Very trust worthy! They call to tell whats found, what all is wrong (even hidden), and cost to fix all or what must.
I’m from Northeast Pennsylvania, so this review is for AGCO’s Automotive Hour podcast on Apple iTunes. I have learned so much about how to properly repair and maintain my vehicles while listening to Louis, Brian and Josh. Louis’ advice also helped save me a few thousand dollars on a GM warranty claim when my Silverado needed a new Transmission. Thanks Louis!! Get honest straightforward advice from expert technicians on The Automotive Hour podcast. 10 STARS
Review is for their radio talk show and website, excellent advice can learn a lot by listening to them, their website is excellent resource for anything automotive and if you cant find something on their website theyre very good at responding to your specific question
First rate service, knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Very trustworthy buaineaa
Very professional and knowledgeable And only used OEM parts. Very reasonable pricing on labor also. Agco is a must use auto shop in south Louisiana.
This is the best shop I’ve ever dealt with. They take care of your car like it’s their own. Very meticulous, honest and professional. Great advise on the radio show. They’ve saved me a lot of money on car repairs and on car purchase decisions and will continue to do so.
Amazing service all around the board
Highly recommend this shop for diagnostic work.
I use them for all repairs. Theyre technicians, not just part changers and take pride in their work.
Awesome place. They know their stuff. Mechanic there saved my h2 engine. Nice waiting room. Very helpful. They might cost more a tiny bit but that is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. Go there
All around the most reliable car repair place I have ever taken a car to for maintenance. I take my vehicle here over the dealer even when the deal offered free services.
Best shop in town. Pricier than most, but when it is something really unusual or has to be done right, it is absolutely worth it.
Cheapest overall cost
(Update 3/4/2021)Still call on them for all of my automotive needs. Thumbs up!!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ProfessionalThey tell it like it is, no up-sales just facts.I had an older car looked at for a general inspection and oil change. I was pleased with their recommendations and lack of pressure. They charge the standard rate for mechanics plus parts.I will be a repeat customer.(Edit - 11/19/19)Ive been using these folks for a while for mostly oil changes. I had an issue with one of my vehicles and they handled it in a professional manner. I will continue to go here as long as they continue to be this trusting.(Edit - 09/14/2020)Still excellent, Im still going and they still have my business.
Was recommended to these people for tires for my vehicle. Very friendly and have some nice nostalgia in their waiting area. Need to make an appointment, but this was fine with me. Exceeded my expectations. Would do business here again.
Im in the other side of the pond ( Portugal ), so, sadly, Im not a customer. But, Im passionate listener of the Podcast. Ive never learned so much about cars. 5 🌟
I have been using AGCO for over 18 years and Ive never had to take a car back for the same problem, its always fixed right the first time. They are the most honest and by far the best in auto industry, all the techs are masters of their craft and do a excellent job. The peace of mind knowing your vehicle is fixed right and not having the hassle of returning to address the same problem over and over ..... Priceless!
Great Get an appointment Fix CAR call to pick up, GREAT GREAT
The best shop I have ever dealt with. I had some issues with an older truck. Agco suggested a complete inspection to determine if I should spend the money on the truck. I feel they were honest and did a quality job. Place is clean and organized. Love their automotive hour radio show every Saturday morning also, never miss it..
Solid repair shop, honest and informative.
My brothers take their vehicles here and highly recommended it stating they Fix it - they dont repair it. My 2006 Honda Odyssey with 320K miles was lurching and not running properly with engine lights coming on. The charged me $50 to diagnose it! Every other place Ive ever been to charges me at least $100 for diagnosis. They gave me quote to fix the issue but were honest enough to tell me that even if I did the work ($2500) they could not guarantee that the car would run right because so many codes were coming up on the diagnostic. I decided to salvage the vehicle due to age but I appreciated their honesty!! Very nice people.
Excellent work always!
I came in with the AC broken and needing relief. Was recommended to AGCO by two different people.Once I let them look at my car, Mr Louis explained in terms I could understand not just why my AC was out, he also found another problem that would fail soon.Repair done next day and air is so cold now I gotta turn it down. Highly recommend to anyone.
AGCO is a strangely good auto repair shop. This is the place to go. They will get the vehicle fixed the right way. People talk about costs. You must look at the cost in the run. If you hope to keep your vehicle running for years to come, go to AGCO.
Dealership said I needed a complete brake job. These folks said my brakes were fine for at least a year. Also performed other needed maintenance at a reasonable price. These folks are better than good.
I got to know AGCO owner Louis Altazan through a managers discussion group. His ideas about how to achieve lowest cost of automobile operation, and his adherents to Demings principles of quality assurance are unusual and impressive in the auto repair trade. In my opinion, his beliefs and principles make AGCO a standout auto repair facility
Honest and friendly service. Price range is in middle of going rate. Well worth it. I would recommend this shop.
Brought my truck in to get the rear main seal and oil pan gasket replaced. A day and a half later, my truck was back in my hands and running great. Nice staff and a clean facility.
Best auto repair show since Click and Clack. I listen to the podcast. Thanks for suggesting this way to review; I use an Android device, and the only way to review on iTunes is with a PC or laptop, which I rarely use anymore. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!
Undoubtedly the best automotive shop in the Baton Rouge area.
Im not in Baton Rouge, but if I were, Id go here 100%. I listen to their podcast for fun, and these folks are one of few that seem do things right - you WANT to be charged to assess your vehicle as opposed to having someone guess at what the issue is then start replacing parts.
Honest and professional.
When I was too young drive, my dad would take the cars to AGCO and I would always go with him. I wondered why he was so adamant about using this one place. Later when I graduated I began using their service as well. It’s been twenty years (wow, has it been that long) and Louis and Elaine are still taking care of my car and truck. I have referred dozens of friends and they too are now AGCO fans. They are not the cheapest place around and it may take a few days to get an appointment, but if you want good, honest service, no BS and your problem fixed, this is the only place to go.
The Mother / Daughter pair is extremely rude!
Literally the greatest shop in existence. These guys are absolute experts, and 100% honest.
Mr.Altazan is simply the most knowledgeable person Ive ever seen concerning their occupation. My father is a Oncology Physician and Mr.Altazan is as knowledgeable about auto repair as my father is about Medicine.
I took my car there upon recommendation from a co-worker. Had an alignment, and they pointed out some other issues with my car that affected the work that they did. I appreciated the honesty and they didnt try to sell me on work that I didnt ask for. Very good experience. It is not cheap, but it wasnt any more expensive than Meineke, but the work was top notch instead of the crap that I got from Meineke in Hammond. Its a long drive, but Ill take my car there again for anything that I want done correctly. Even if it is a drive to get there, Im grateful to know of a good shop.
Best auto shop in town.
I wish this place was in Lakeland, FL. It would be awesome to finally have a car shop that I can trust with competent techs and an awesome radio show. Sweeeet.
Louis Altazan should be listed as a reference standard for excellence and integrity in the Bureau of Weights and Measures because all others should be judged against him.As someone who is devoted to learning automotive diagnosis as a hobby--and someone who watches hours of automotive YouTube channels created by shop owners and talented automotive technicians, I can truly say I feel at home with Mr. Altazan and Mr. Terry. Their insights and recommendations are in-line with those Ive heard from others in this industry. Their experiences and wisdom shape the information in a way which -- as many have pointed out here -- speaks to people at their level and doesnt embarrass the nervous questioner.I have also had the privilege of writing to Mr. Altazan on a specific question on his Web site -- and his response was nearly immediate and was very thorough. I think if I had to use one word to describe Mr. Altazan in reference to this show and his amazing Web site -- and Q&A option on said Web site -- it would be generous. His mastery of the subject matter is clear. His social skills and almost therapist-like ability to put people at ease so that they can give him the information he needs to help them is quite impressive.I think 20 episodes of this program should be required in all 50 states to new drivers as part of drivers education programs. I think a similar metric should be offered by insurance companies - similar to how discounts are offered for defensive driving. The concepts learned in this podcast will make your vehicle last longer --all else being equal. My highest recommendation.
My car was wrecked and when I picked it up it was pulling to the right. I took it back three times but it still pulled to the right. My insurance company told me to go to AGCO. They did some kind of straightning on the frame and now it drive like new. VERY HAPPY !!
The best automatics around town
Amazing service. Best in town.
The best service
Love the forward honesty and fix it right the first time mentality.
Fantastic staff and still a local owned business.
The most honest and knowledgeable shop you will find. Those that complain of high cost do not understand the philosophy of lowest OVER ALL cost.
They are committed to customer service. I am not from the area but I listen to the shops podcast weekly. Ive e-mailed questions to the owner, Louis, a few times and he always gives prompt and complete answers.
Best front end shop in BR
I listen to their radio show & podcasts. I wish they could franchise shops. I do not know of another shop that attempts to educate and help consumers as they do. Wish I lived in the area or they were here.
Best auto shop In The city
Good friendly atmosphere, great work, reasonable prices
They could not be more helpful. Upon request, theyll tell you what is wrong so you can replace the parts yourself and save the money
I called to get my broke down car fixed as im not from the area and was traveling through. They advised me they were booked solid would do what ever they could to help me. I did not have an appointment and so I left it with them to fix for me. They fixed it as soon as they had someone free and Im back on the rd. Defiantly a place to go for repairs.
Excellent information
Just horrible service
