This place was so sweet! I loved this shop. They had lots of indie, BIPOC, and LGBTQA authors. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The shop was set up comfortably with plenty of space between shelves and lots of windows with natural light. I will definitely be coming back!

As always welcoming, friendly, and efficient . If you cant find what you want, they will order it for you. Its fun to browse the shelves and on a sunny day stroll through the garden. Baltimore is fortunate to have such a nice independent book store.

Possibly the best bookstore in Baltimore. All books are well curated and no cheap titles. Browsed all afternoon and had a difficult time deciding what to but amongst so many great choices. Well let interiors, classic music in background. Total bliss.

This is one of those bookstores that you will find books that arent going to be at Barnes and Nobles. The staff is so kind and they write paragraphs on why the recommend certain books. Also the interior is very clean and aesthetic!

Staff were very helpful and I was able to find the book I was looking for as well as get the other book ordered for later. Parking is on the street so be careful! The area is so cute and it was very fun to walk around.

Well,first off, I must admit that I made a mistake thinking that this was a used book store. That was on me. My family and I still stayed awhile to look around on a rainy Sunday. From the moment that we entered, the energy was not welcoming. The front desk clerk did not greet us at all, and simply instructed us to sign their sign in list. The employee who was working the floor wasnt particularly welcoming either. The energy in the place seemed a bit off and a bit pretentious. It must be mentioned that the actual place itself, its ambience and the physical structure and setup was really nice. I just the staff matched the loveliness of the building.

To shop local safely, visit the Ivy Bookshop. Theyre doing an excellent job of keeping customers safe while shopping this pandemic Christmas season. Each person shares their name and contact info upon entering the store so if any Covid cases are shared they will be able to do the contact tracing. Masks are mandatory and have sanitizer is available at the front door. The store is well organized, staff friendly and helpful, and if they dont have a book in stock (common at this time of year) theyll order it for you.

I havent been everywhere, but my favorite bookstore in Baltimore so far. Large, vibrant selection and a helpful staff that knows when to offer recommendations based on where they observe you lingering.

The employees were very nice and patient with our group. They gave us bookmarks and stickers.The bookstore has a wide variety of books for kids with creative toys included. All around the store, they have labels of the different categories of books so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. There’s even a whole shelf of graphic novels!The store is beautiful, quiet, and smells good like brand new books! Soft music is playing while you browse. Books are displayed on tables and shelves so you can easily see the covers. They have comfortable chairs to read in. They even have an old typewriter!We really recommend this bookstore.

New(ish) location is attractive and inviting. The provisions for private browsing appointments is a great approach to Covid era shopping. Staff is, as always, very helpful.

I usually love to support small businesses, but this bookstore has a political agenda. Literally ZERO books by conservative authors are sold here. I always appreciate a diversity of viewpoints when browsing bookstores, however, Ivy seems not to value diversity in terms of published content. When asked why they don’t carry books by conservative authors, the employee replied that there simply aren’t many conservative books on politics, current affairs, or history published. I find that surprising considering that both Candace Owens and Sarah Huckabee Sanders have published books currently within the top 10 on the NYT best-sellers list this year.I encourage this shop to educate themselves on diversity in its many forms, and maybe also look at the NYT best-sellers list once in a while. I’m sticking with Barnes and Noble.

I was looking to buy a book from a local bookseller during our shelter in place period. The Ivy Bookshop had the book I was looking for available in their online store and shipped it to my house promptly. Ive also visited the shop before, they have a great selection in the store and have been really helpful with recommendations.

Amazing bookstore in Dublin! There are lots and lots of items for all ages. They carry books of all genres that will appeal to most. Customer service is great as well, they are always nice and polite. I love this bookstore and I hope it stays here forever!

Fun store. Found a book about local schools and colleges that mentioned my son in law when he was coaching at McDaniel college. Bought it for his birthday. Nice find.

I drove by this shop and decided to stop in and check it out. From the moment I walked in the door I felt unwelcome. The staff did not greet me or even acknowledge my presence. There was only one other customer in the bookstore and at least three staff members working. I browsed the shelves and again no one spoke to me or asked if I needed help. I picked out a few things form the childrens section, which was pretty decent for a small bookshop (the only reason for two stars) and proceeded to the counter to pay. An older woman was behind the counter, glanced at me and then continued to type something on her computer. She never spoke to me at all. A second cashier rang me up after a few awkward moments. It was a very cold interaction. Its a decently stocked bookstore, but it needs better, more friendly staff. I wont be returning. Ill get better treatment elsewhere.

I had a extremely hard time finding a a brand new book for my wife that came out yesterday and no store had it including a few bookstores. Called Ivy Bookshop today lady picked up the phone right away and found the book in a split second and held onto it for me while I was at work. Came in on my break to pick it up she was awesome and very quick and professional even offered to wrap the book. Thank you again sorry I didn’t catch the lady names who helped me but she was amazing and I will be returning to the store in the future when purchasing books.

This bookstore is a labor of love, with a carefully curated collection of offerings. The science, history, literature, and travel selections are especially good, as is the childrens books section. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable.A bookstore run by book lovers is a rarity and this is a rare gem.

Ivy bookshop is not large, but it makes up for this in quality. This was my first visit and my impression is that the store is stocked for serious readers. I found exactly what I wanted in the end. This was not what I entered in search of. Finally, the price I paid was very competitive. I will be back.

Beautiful independent book store. They carry books by publishers that I dont normally see in a lot of bookstores. Great selection with wonderfully helpful staff. They also often have interesting literary events.

Mostly new/recently published titles. Great current affairs section, and have some harder to find titles/publishers: Europa. Also has a great selection of local history, current affairs and the ilk. Loads of Johns Hopkins press books. Frequently has book events and readings. Some staff a bit more forthcoming than others, but all helpful. Staff is certainly better than what it was about 5 years ago.

Nice selection of books and the store is very clean and well organized. The staff however usually spend more time focused on computers or each other and dont really greet you or ask you if you need help. This is more habitual than a one time experience. Having worked in bookstores for a decade, the customer service here leaves a lot to be desired.

Surprisingly large selection for a relatively small bookstore. Good kids inventory, excellent selection of history, thoughtful gift books, but core strength is literary fiction. Now a local institution for author events. A major supporter and member of the Baltimore literary scene.

This is a good browsing bookstore. It is not too small, but neither is it a megabookstore. It supports a vibrant community of readings and bookclubs. Its other location is a coffeehouse bookstore called Bird in Hand.
