The store was very well stocked and organized. We got to find a college sweatshirt as we were visiting the campus.
I love the selection of categories and the collegiate air, great parking, knowledgeable staff with good attitudes.
Bookstore was great with friendly staffs but the BN cafe staff was completely opposite. No customer service and did not know how to make coffee. Worst Latte ever as she put milk over daily brew coffee instead of espresso
I visit was on Friday morning, 9/10. The barista charged me for a venti cold brew but gave me watered down iced coffee instead. I didnt mind her bad customer service, but I deserve to receive what I paid for.
This was my first time in this particular store but the customer service was really great and I look forward to returning again and again....
It is no longer a normal barnes and noble. Its 9/10 of John Hopkins school stuff and school supplies
Great selection of books, textbooks, Hopkins merch, and school supplies. There’s a cafe connected to it which is nice for studying/doing work. There’s also a small children’s section in the back of the store, and it’s good for a quick read.
Besides getting Hopkins branded products, enjoyed the experience of physically browsing in a book store again. Staff were helpful.
Great selection, clean and orderly place.
Very attentive and helpful staff, though it is a little bit smaller than usual Barnes and Nobles.
Decent B&N Place..

I loved it! Cant wait to go back!
Pretty cool spot to get a good read. Good diverse collection of books. And lots of JHU clothing.
It was great to be in a bookstore, in my home of Chicago several bookstore chains have closed locations. This is conveniently located by John Hopkins University and easy to find. They are very nice selection of books sections of books that were on sale. If you love reading books this a place for you
Great books, honestly they’re really good. You could call me a book worm, as in sometimes I buy books, shred up the pages, and use them as a compost base for my worm farm. Apparently a worm can eat up to it’s weight in compost every day. I have like a pounds of worms so that’s like a pound a day of compost, which I think is pretty good.
Hopped in to pick up an online order.Quick and easy!
Huge selection JHU gear. Friendly staff.
We were there for coffee at Starbucks.
Its a really clean store! It seems very organized, as it should, but the only problem is that its very expensive! Although its a book store, they do have merchandise for the Johns Hopkins College, so a mere shirt would be up to $50 and up. Some people may think the price is fine, but for teenagers, its not even close! Overall good shop and a nice little coffee shop inside.
Pretty good book selection. This might seem odd to some but my companions and I were a little peeved there was no umbrella stand, as it was snowing pretty badly outside. It was not a big deal as the cashier let us leave our umbrellas beside the counter and watched them for us, but it is something that they might want to add to the store. Im sure others might want a place to store their umbrellas when it is snowing and raining outside.
Easley found what I was looking for
Kind employees who are helpful & a great variety of books & other things I like am happy this store is so close by can walk from home. And the Starbucks cafe inside is an extra plus really nice to spend time in.
As usual I was disappointed by a university book store. Staff seemed super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. But I was there browsing for books and the selection was subpar due to the overwhelming presence of university and sport related apparel and merchandise. If thats what youre looking for, the place seems well stocked.
This Barnes & Noble is nice. It rarely gets too crowded, so you can take your time picking out a good book. The staff is helpful and is more than happy to recommend books.
Books are pretty expensive here, and I dont believe they give you much if you sell them back to them after a semester. Actually, the whole store is quite expensive and high quality products; 70 dollar backpacks, 20 dollar mattress sheets, chocolates, 40 dollar long sleeve shirts, 30 dollar notebooks, etc. If you want something thats sturdy and will last a while, then sure its a good option. But if youre more frugal and dont care too much, then maybe the closer CVS will give a good product for 70% the cost.
Pretty much just a school store for John Hopkins University. Its in a great area especially for a city but its not really good for anything more than a cup of Starbucks and some light studying.
This store is great to get wear for JHU. They carry textbook, used and new, and give you the ability to rent them. They tell you if they are recommended, required or unnecessary, which was helpful. They carry a wall full of all types of hats. It made it easy to browse and find the best fit.
I really enjoyed my breakfast at Barnes &noble on Charles st,they are very pleasant and clean,I recommend a lot of my friends to visit there, and they love it.
Clean, safe, organize and excellent location for book lovers. The people here are friendly and courteous. Will be back to grab another book!
This Barnes and Noble location has all the school supplies (minus some select textbooks) that an undergrad needs. Pretty good pen selection, a bunch of school memorabilia, and even a Starbucks coffee shop! It makes for a good place to do a bit of studying if you live on st.paul and dont feel like walking to the library!
Its a small University bookstore but it has a lot of great non-academic books as well. Nice small cafe. Helpful and friendly staff.
This Barnes and Noble carries defective products. I purchase a lightning cable charging wire and wall adapter that out of the box, do not function. They were purchased at a very high premium, which I accepted for the convenience and because they were purchased from a bookstore, however they do not charge my phone at all. Frankly, I am very disappointed with the bookstore of this caliber carrying obviously defective products.
So far this is the best place we have found to get JHU stuff. Large selection. The pricing is what you would expect from a Barnes and Noble University bookstore.
Recently added charge for returning books via shipping without notice (used to be free).
This is a great place to have a coffee break, as there is a Starbucks inside the Barnes and Noble. There is a wonderful childrens section where kids and parents can read some books and relax. Overall though, this book store sells mostly Johns Hopkins merchandise that is, in my opinion, too expensive.
Great location thats easily accessible. Wide selection of books to purchase. Also have Johns Hopkins University branded items thats exclusively at the Charles Village Barnes & Noble.
Customer service is excellent.
Been closed alot and at akward and varying times throughout the pandemic
Small but cute. I love Barnes and Noble. But this one is Small. Not a big selection on clearance, but the sale are still amazing
Everything l needed was there. I was looking for a book light. Needed it quickly and didnt want to wait for shipping. Thanks B&N. Glad I live near the JHU juggernaut.
Y’all got books for everyone
The best and most organized place to pick up my Hopkins gear!
Good store with cafe and university apparel. The staff is always friendly.
Great seating for reading, lovely souvenir/gift items great book collection for browsing. Nice collection of coffee, drinks, pastries, healthy snacks, etc. in cafe area. I love this place!
Plenty of books and branded team apparel. The staff were very helpful with tracking down books.
Great selection of Hopkins gear!
Many JHU stuffs. Starbucks inside doesnt take online orders.
As an avid fantasy/sci-fi reader have had a hard time finding certain books. The customer service people have been very helpful with their searches for older ones.
It was wonderful working and meeting with my colleague. Atmosphere was very inviting.
Very nice establishment. Very comfortable, very clean, super customer services.
Browsed inside while I was walking to the library. Excellent choice of books. Plenty of gift ideas.
Convenient, NYT and faculty books prominently displayed, courteous service
Love this place but is costly
The staff is so helpful.
Got some great Christmas presents. Books, games, and more.
Great for gift giving ideas for kids and adults alike.
Spacious for groups of 5 to sit for coffee and chat around laptops
Best place for latest books and Starbucks with some specials
This bookstore has a coffee shop and a gift shop. You can take books to the coffee shop for reading. The book collection is good. It also has stationary section and electronics. The gift section contains various items with JHU logo.
My favorite place to read and peruse books and mags, drink coffee and have a great time, any time.
People are nice given the location. This is NOT a Barnes and Noble though. It is the Hopkins store and they do not honor Barnes and Noble...anything. bummer.
Small bookstore. More J.H. stuff. I was disappointed at the tiny magazine collection. Nice coffee shop and a very cool space.
The Starbucks barista said my Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato wasnt real
There is nowhere to sit above but every square inch had room for clothes and people went outside because they didnt have somewhere to sit in a warm building.
Parking is a concern, I was able to purchase the book I was interested in and a medium coffee.
Nice place to hang out, have a coffee and read books or buy Johns Hopkins stuff.
Johns Hopkins Uni book shop... nice place for book lovers..loved it
I love it. Very peaceful
Any book you need will get there in a day and a half!
Great atmosphere....but, prices are steep.
My son loves the kids corner.
Nice coffee shop and books mostly catering to the courses at JSU.
Large, clean bookstore with friendly service. Makes for an interesting meeting place.
Outstanding multipurpose location for Johns Hopkins students, staff faculty and visitors
Nice and quiet for a college coffee shop and book store. Quick service.
Loved it. Everything related to JHU. Though slightly costly.
Cafe staff is amazing. Ordered a hard to get book and it was there at the time promised.
Very cozy place for buying or reading books and newspapers
Love this book store it has everything you need
Love the books collection it has, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I spent hours everyday reading books there.
Purchased a pair of fleece mittens. Prices a little high but I love the cafe!
Wonderful place with JHU souvenirs collection
A decent sized barnes and nobles cozy with a cafe but no where to sit imside the store. Not the biggest collection of books but has a devent size and allows for you tp explore throughout the store more.
High quality Hopkins gear that is priced at what it is worth (which is expensive); textbooks are overpriced and cheaper through the publisher or Amazon
Barnes and Nobles really speaks for itself. Its a place where you can get lost swimming in the depths of information and personal life stories, and imaginations of every kind.
Good atmosphere and associates was very helpful
Overly expensive clothing items. A childs hoodie should not cost more than an adults hoodie. Customer service was great. Fast checkout.
Very pleasant an helpful costumer service
Every college book store should be done right, and Barnes and Nobles knows how to do book stores.
This is a nice Barnes & Noble. Johns Hopkins students are fixtures here since the school is next door.
This bookstore for Johns Hopkins University is located near a rather sketchy part of Baltimore, so be careful which direction you approach this one from. They have quite a bit of stuff though.
Usually well stocked and quite.
