U-Haul was great and very helpful!! I had no problems talking with the brilliant group of young men! I reserved a big, long 20 footer that one of the boys provided for me and there were no complications whatsoever when I was at the store (except maybe my inner struggle of trying to hide my excitement! teeheehee!). The trucks were long, the prices were low, the excitement and energy was high, overall I had a VERY memorable trip to this location. I would HIGHLY recommend (;(;(;!!!
Super amazing people work here!!! I needed to rent a truck, and there were 2 women and 2 men working and they were all super helpful! They worked so well together to make sure I left with the truck I needed. I am so impressed with this location. So happy I chose this one. Thank you again so much!
I felt discriminated. I had a trailer reserved to rent and once arrived I was given the hardest time by the manager. I was told bluntly “he wasn’t renting a trailer to me.” We asked why and wasn’t given a reason. In front of other white customers, it was like he was being a wise guy. I never felt discriminated until I got to this place! I’m sure it wasn’t UHauls fault but it was the franchise’s Decision
All of the boys (were probably 19-20 age range) that helped me get a trailer onto my truck were very helpful! Very nice and and patient throughout the whole process!!
Unprofessional doesn’t even begin to describe the experience of the Ballwin Uhaul. First the uhaul I reserved for Friday was not available. No phone call. Just showed up and they said sorry and that there were 5 customers ahead on the wait list. NO PHONE call before the reservation time to notify us! Called this morning, said they had a larger one, came in and they said sorry again. My husband said he had just called and she went outside to find there was one it just hadn’t been checked in. A gentleman smoking and barely acknowledged customers and both associates were working on securing tires for themselves while customers waited and were all there bc they had been canceled on or not called about appointments previously made. Uhaul has been a problem in the past but this location went above AND BEYOND IN INSURING THE WORSE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER! The reviews that state the young men helping were fantastic we’re definitely NOT working yesterday and today. Do yourself a favor and find another place to secure a Uhaul.
Rented a small trailer. Just checking in was time consuming with minimal communication. Getting the trailer out of the disorganized lot took even longer. Neglected to put moving blankets in. Went back to shop to get them. Instead of two bags of six, only loaded one bag. When I dropped trailer at destination, found out the safety chains were installed wrong. The only thing right was by credit card transaction! VERY poor service. Used to be quite good, not now.

Cant give enough stars! I misplaced my wallet and wasnt able to pay for a purchase when I was at their place of business. The U-Haul of Ballwin staff assured me that it wouldnt be a problem and turned an otherwise unpleasant experience into pleasure. Couldnt have been better. I highly recommend this location!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!Received a competitive estimate on a trailer hitch install, made an appointment a week in advance and told hitch would be available and that appt. would take ~2h. Arrived on time for appt. - person at desk was very disorganized, provided a vague answer about when car would be ready as manager wasn’t yet available. Called back 2h later and told that car would still be several hours. When I questioned, was put on hold, told the car was being worked on at that time. Arrived 40 minutes later and was told they were still waiting on parts. They checked on when the parts would arrive, and I was told they didn’t have an ETA. They asked if I wanted to take car and make a return appointment. I said yes, they gave me the car keys, but made no effort to make a return appointment.Obviously didn’t want the business.
Went to this store yesterday to get my propane tank filled. Store associate, Jaylin, came out to fill the tank. After filling the tank, he proceeded to wrench down the valve several times. I asked him to stop as it makes it especially difficult to open it again and wears out the valve. He ignored my request and continued to tighten the valve further.We went into the store to pay and I asked him why he continued to tighten the valve when I asked him to stop. He said it was a safety issue and kept arguing with me about it after I told him why I wanted him to stop. He then starts swearing at me, threatening me, and telling me to get out of the store.I told him I wouldnt leave until he gave me a receipt. He said their printer was down and he couldnt give me a receipt. I said he needed to hand write me one then. He proceeds to write out the receipt on a one inch square PostIt note. Completely unprofessional.I asked for the store owners contact information and he gave me the store managers card. I left a message immediately afterward on the managers cell phone. Its now 1:30pm the next day and Ive yet to have the call returned.This company is unprofessional and not focused on well-being of their customers or their customers property. Not only due to the experience above, but also because every time that I have been in the store, NONE of the employees are wearing masks even though there is a sign on the door that says customers are required to wear a mask before entering. Hypocritical and definitely not focused on safety as Jaylin claimed.Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location and I highly recommend no one else give their business to this shady enterprise. To do so only encourages their terrible behavior.
I have never had a bad experience with the folks here! Whether I needed a truck to move the kids for college, a car tow dolly, or just some furniture pads, they have always taken care of me. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, eager to assist and appreciative of your business. Location is clean and store is well stocked with any/all the packing accessories you can think of.
I used this location back in Fall 2019 to rent a trailer when we moved from Ballwin and it was an excellent experience. Only now, after utilizing another location to rent a trailer have I realized how under appreciated this location was to me then; I had to get on and give a review ASAP. The employees were quick and efficient to get me what I needed and the trailer was CLEAN inside.
Terrible customer service dont even show up to do their freaking job in the morning waiting line for 45 minutes I had a reservation for tow dolly at two other locations that didnt have it went there cuz they do have one and they wouldnt rent it to me because they had a reservation 4 hours from the time I wanted to rent it told him I would have it back by the before the reservation and they said no proceed to say they could go back and forth and back and forth all day but its not going to change anything were not going to rent you the tow dolly would not patronize their establishment again rude and lazy times 100
I had just had a hitch put on my wrangler and because of my spare tire I needed an extension.. I put the extension on at home and it rattled and felt loose. I went to the U Haul on Manchester in Ballwin to see what could be done. I explained my issue with the young man behind the counter. As he walked with me outside to view the problem I noticed there were already 2 other workers looking at it. He went inside and got a part and before I could ask another question he was already on the ground installing it. That was all that was needed to fix the problem and I was in and out within 5 minutes very satisfied!! Hard to find workers like this anymore!! I will go back with any future needs.

Horrible customer service, DO NOT use this service. They made my friend and I wait for 4 hours. The girl behind the counter, on 5/21/2020, at 10:45 was so rude, and gave incorrect time on when the bike hitch would be place on. In addition, my friend poor daughter, who has autism, had to wait as well. The hitch installer, was unkind, unprofessional, and stated that he was the owner of the company. He looked about 20 years old. Then another young man came over and stated he was the manager. They mocked me, and made insults towards me because, I inquired about waiting so long. After 4 hours, the so called owner stated he would not put on my hitch. Then, causally started talking to me about a plant I bought at Lowes when waiting during those 4 hours, and said he wanted that type to plant around his shop that he owns. How insulting! I am contacting the main headquarters of U-haul, as well as, reporting them to the better bushiness bureau. If I could give a zero rating, I would. Dont waist your time, or money with this company. This isnt my first time having a bike hitch placed on one of my new vehicles.

This location does NOT care about its customers, I had to wait for ever to be helped when I was the only one in the store, after paying I was told that the truck and dolly are hooked outside, got out and waited for 30min NOTHING!!! Got back inside they told me to help them bring the truck and they’ll hook the dolly I did that, no informations or anything, worst U-haul location poor service.
Great hours - which is why I called. I had never rented a truck before. I am in the service industry myself - never have I had a worse experience trying to make a reservation than I did with the man who answered the phone. He was most certainly was not interested in helping make sure I got the truck, time and package I needed to best fit my needs. Call someone else.
By far the best service I have ever received when moving! All the employees and management did a wonderful job making sure we were well taken care of and had all that we needed. They worked really hard to get the equipment we needed when it wasnt available at there store. I would highly suggest using them for your next move. They will take very good care of you and your family!

I’ve always used U-Haul ever time I’ve moved and specifically this location. I’ve never had any problems until now. I was charged once and 20 days after they charged my account double the amount. When I called they told me I had to call customer service by they have no way of refunding the money back. I refused and asked to talk to the manager multiple times. The manager never got on the phone and the sales associates told me they will refund the money that they charged on my account. I am still waiting for it to be returned to my account. Will not be returning here again!!
Todd and his team are the best! They offered advice on getting the most bang for my buck and were very flexible with timing. I was able to cut my move time down and best utilize my truck. I would strongly recommend this location.
The service was fantastic. I had a hitch put on my SUV. They ordered the hitch and I got it installed the next week. They sold me a bike rack too and matched the Amazon price. They even put the bike rack together for me. Service was quick and friendly. The price was $620 cheaper than the Honda dealer wanted.

I had a 7 am apt to have a hitch installed i show up at 5 till 7 there is a line of 5 people already waiting to get in so i get in line store opens at 7 am and there is only one person working i wait my turn now its 7:25 and i am informed that the hitch that was ordered online a week earlier has not arrived so i wasted an hour of my Saturday for nothing now i have to make another trip when the hitch comes in god only knows when another hour of my time gone
General MGR Ron McCabe was great. He went above in beyond with our recent purchase of an Airstream Travel Trailer. The Airstream was being stored at his business in Ballwin, MO. and he help immensely with getting our pick-up truck receiver set up to provide a safe towing experience. Terrible, awful service. I have had a trailer reserved for pickup today for the past 4 days and just today, 3 hours before pickup, did I receive a call informing me they dont have any trailers available within 25 miles of me. I spoke to a manager and all he had to tell me was if you read the fine print youd know we do our best. Their best is not good enough. I will never consider their service again. Unbelievably bad service and management.

Horrible customer service. I reserved a truck a week in advance I selected pick up time 6pm amd checked the box for 24hrs. I also included in the comments that I would possible need the truck for 2 days total since you are not able to online reserve for more than 24hrs on an in town move. When I arrived at my scheduled pick-up time, 6pm, I was told that I could only have the truck till 1pm the next day, that the truck was scheduled for another customer at that time. I told the employee that would not work and I needed the truck longer for which I was told that if I kept the truck for even the 24hrs I had reserved it for that I would be charged for 3 days of rental because it was a holiday weekend and an additional $50 for a late return fee. I called the store manager and all he did was give me a run around and offered no solution. I ended up having to delay my scheduled move and go with another truck rental company.

Today I went to the locatio. To purchase 3 wardrobe boxes. When I walked into the store I obeservee to people behind the counter. Neither of them spoke or ask how may I help you. I looked for several minutes at the different sizes of boxes then chose he grand box. Still nothing. I take the 3 boxes up to the counter and neither the male nor female said a word. I then had to ask them can I purchase these boxes to which the male finally said, uh sure. When I confronted these two about how disrespectful their attitude was was the male stated he was checking his schedule and the female just sat there with no response. I will now drive completely out of way not to ever spend another red cent at this particular establishment. You should be ashamed. But I guess checking you schedule is more important than checking on a customer.

This place was terrible! They confirmed our reservation, then when we showed up they didnt have a truck because someone in the home office cancelled it for some reason! They offered to give me half price on mileage but I would have to drive twice as far to get it from a different location so it was still going to cost more and take an extra hour just to get it! I saw a Penske truck drive by so I called them and the guy was very nice and gave me a better deal on a better truck just a couple blocks away! Go to Penske!
Worst service - dont go there. They are not respecting their customers, not nice and with horrible approach. I booked time for service at 10 and waited until 10:45 before I took my money and went to another u-haul branch (which was outstanding). Bad experience and wasted time
Custom hitch install (invisi hitch) for 2018 WRX - these guys were knowledgeable about the hitch options for this sports car and were extremely personally attentive during the install to ensure nothing was damaged and that the hitch was properly installed.If you need a hitch installed for a car you care about (and who doesnt care about their 2nd largest investment??), you should call Seth and his team and get it done right.
Blown away by how helpful the staff was. Dealt with 3 of them, very knowledgeable about trailers, hitches. electrical hookups, diagnosed my Jeep grand cherokee issue before dealer could. Is the place the Taj Mahal, of course not, its U haul but man they are very helpful and friendly - 5 stars.

Just called to get some simple information about purchasing and installing a hitch. Doug, the man who answered the phone, started off by a very unprofessional answering of the phone. Then when I told him that I had spoke to another U-haul dealer, and they had told me to contact them, he rushed me on asking what I needed. I told Doug that I had found a bike rack on their site. What I needed to know was whether I should come to the store and purchase, or buy online and bring it in for them to install. Doug then fed my question back to me disgustedly, huffed, and said I dont know whatever you want to do. I brushed it off and asked Doug how much it would be to install the hitch. Doug again huffed and asked in a tone I took as really lady your wasting my time with this? I got the quote and he said nothing. Not even a I get you setup, or maybe help you with anything else. I said thank you and he said sure and hung up. Incredibly bad customer service. I will never be renting, or buying anything from this U-haul again. What a shame.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS BALLWIN MO U-HAUL LOCATION!!! I had a hitch installed 2 weeks ago and got my van back and they scraped the front of my bumper. The driver of my van was Larry Meeker who pulled up to quickly and scraped the bottom on a curb. I spoke with the manager and filed a claim with RepWest insurance out of Omaha NE. They told me I had to go back to the UHAUL location and take pictures and prove that they scraped my van. I drove up there and met with the Manager Ron McCabe and showed them exactly where it happened. I just got a call today 6/8/2012 from Stacy Harrill at RepWest saying that my claim was denied. She told me it was denied b/c a lady behind the counter saw my wife bottom out when she was pulling into the parking lot. This couldnt have happened because I was in the parking lot when she pulled in and can verify she did not bottom out. I then called Uhual corporate and they gave me the number of Steve Langford who is the Regional President for Uhaul. He tells me he denied my claim b/c Larry has worked for him for 15 years and wouldnt lie about damage. I find that interesting that Ron McCabe told the insurance company that my wife bottomed out when pulling in as an excuse. Isnt that a lie? I have asked Steve Langford to meet me at the location show he can show me how the van bottomed out. He so far has refused to do this and told me that I wasnt listening. If his employees are so honest why cant they just re-create the bottoming out? I have now wasted countless hours on this when it shouldve been a simple claim for their poor driving of my minivan. DO NOT USE UHAUL IN BALLWIN. When things dont work out you will remember reading this post and wishing you had stayed away from them! This is still not resolved. -Brian

Truck smelled like piss. When we asked if we could transfer our reservation to see if it would be cheaper the cashier told us to call the 1800 number for help and didnt even try to call the other uhual or help us.

They install hitches, wiring, and sell a selection of towing items and moving supplies inside. I only gave it 4 stars because it is difficult to get in and out of their narrow entrance and it is sometimes blocked by parked u-haul trucks.

I called here twice to see if I could get propane today. When I called at 8:55 this morning to make sure they had propane and was told yes. I drove down there in my Rv and two guys was working on propane pump and they told me it would be later today before I could get propane. I called back at 5:38 and was told I could get propane now and I drove back down there and was told they could not sell any propane until noon tomorrow.
