I bought oranges at a very good price, 3 for $1 and also appreciated their good customer care. They have Black Beans ( Njahi )and other International cereals. Inside there is a restaurant and Halal Beef, Goat, Chicken etc.Its a worth place to do shopping as you enjoy the cool and beautiful vicinity of Manchester.
I always look forward to going here. Very clean, organized, and their restaurant inside makes great samosas! Its always really easy to find what I need and doesnt feel claustrophobic.
One of my favorite stores. I absolutely love the bigger location I always find what I need and the staff here are amazing💖
Updated pics and review***They finally moved into the new bigger location a month or so ago. The store is huge and clean ! Now they have a bigger space for meat and extra staff as well.Their Pakistani style biryani is my favorite.I like this Pakistani/Indian grocery store. I cant wait until they open in the new location. They have the best gulab Jamun ! I love the restaurant part of the store. Love the food ! NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS AT THIS STORE !
I came from maryland. They have alot of variety in store and it was clean but only one thing I saw rates are very high here
A great place to get a sandwich. Even better place to get spices. Wide selection and good prices. Everyone in the store is kind and helpful. Support your local owned businesses.
I ordered a to go order the other day and I came 30 minutes later like the man on the phone said it will be done at, and I get there and they didnt even finish it or start packing what I ordered. I asked about my to go order, after waiting about 10 minutes for someone to come out or be there to assist me (no one came) and I had to ask a random man, and then one of the cooks starts slowly packaging things they shouldve been doing 30 minutes ago. I had to get it rung up in the front where the cashier didnt know what she was doing and was going very slowly. The whole thing was disorganized and I ended up very late for work because of their extreme incompetence. I ended up waiting an hour+ for my food instead.Save youre time and dont order to go here.
A great local grocery store. They are involved and active in the community. From the bakery, to produce, to the deli and the checkers everyone is kind and helpful. If you need something special they will help you find it.
Great customer service and good quality of merchandise. A nice variety of food sold.
They just moved to a bigger location in the same plaza! An excellent business: it’s family-owned, fresh halal meat and produce, and friendly customer service. I must give a shout out to the butchers—they are so welcoming! Clean, spacious, and a great addition for the community.
Good grocery shop for buying pakistani/ indian and some variety of middle easternt stuff too.You can find almost everything here related to grocery .They sell fresh food too…
Great place. Makes me happy inside. Ammar Haroon is the best and most attractive employee there.
Good variety of the international food products you dont find elsewhere in town
Awesome! No more masks! And Im vaccinated so I can finally breathe. Oh everything is fresh too food wise.
Excellent food and experience, same store but bigger location. Food and overall atmosphere is great. Would highly recommend!
Ok ppl not to helpful but ok
Smells HORRIFIC like armpits, body odor and desi spices! Yuck Don’t come when it crowded for sure PLUS THEIR ITEMS HAVE MOTHS, so dirty. It’ll get you a moth infestation for sure!
Very surprised by the selection. Afghani bread was still warm from the oven.
The worst food I’ve ever had! Tasted like it was leftover food from days ago and looked burnt like it was heated over n over again! Had no flavor and was way over priced for so low quality of food! Never ever again!
Neatly laid out store with a large selection of pakistani/Afghani groceries. I got lost in Their chutney selections alone. They also had fresh baked Naan. My one complaint is that the older gentleman at the checkout counter was not very friendly. But overall I love this store
So good. Ammar is the best worker there
Clean, great selection and fresh items.
The new location was much better than the old one, they had everything I needed for cooking and the halal meat is delicious. Very friendly staff and overall welcoming environment.
We went here just once to look for products from Bangladesh and goat meat. The meat was good but beware of anything else you find in the freezer or the shelf. Most things have already expired and we think they are not very honest with the Best before stickers. We had bought frozen fish eggs, came home and realized the expiry date was 2 years ago. We had the bill and went to return it and get refund. They said they do not offer refund and asked us to keep the item in the freezer and help ourselves to another one. It was quite a task to find the same thing which was not expired. The fact that they asked us to keep the item in freezer is what’s interesting. We are locals from the area, but what about those people who stay far away? If they have 1 out of 20 unexpired things on shelves, there are bound to be customers who will buy them and might get food poisoning not having read the labels!! I’ll not be returning to this place.
I was there this week. The new store is amazing! The manager is so nice and helped me find what I needed
The area was very open and the in store restaurant had very nice food.
Holy cow! The food is out of this world. The owner and everyone that works there are super nice. So much stuff in there to browse and try. I am surprised everytime I go in by how much they have. The food in the back can easily give places like Balkin Treat Box a run for their money. I highly reccomend at least trying it out.
Good but if youre not brown they stare
The older gentleman, probably the owner is very rude. He has no respect for women. He does not try to fix customers problem, rather disrespects them in front of other customers. He needs to learn how to treat customers. I dont know how the Islamic Center supports him. This is so unIslamic...being rude to women. It is men like him that portray Islam in the wrong way.If he cant control his temper then he should stay home.....
Best desi store for groceries in STL! Love this place!
New facility is amazing . Very large space . More options and varieties .
Nice place to shop around.
Great new location, Fantastic staff. Ask for Syed Ali Kazmi, he’ll be sure to show you around
Best store of all time, groceries fresh customer service desk is poppin, owner is super nice
I bought some goat meat at the store . When I got home and cooked I found it was stinky lamb and gamy taste. I was sold lamb meat instead which is what I have heard stores do to make extra$$.Not going back again.
New location is much more open, just as many items but more room to shop.
Excellent service. Very good food.
Clean. Friendly. Great selection.
Ordered the DAHI BARA and it was very very bland. No salt or any spices. No Chutny or any flavor. I’ve had this dish at many restaurants and gatherings...it was very off.The staff is very nice but the food was 👎🏼Will not order food from here again.
Prices are very very high compared to other stores like pain Asia and the global market.
All zabiha halal products and quick halal food to go or eat in.
The Mideast Market is somewhat of a hidden gem tucked away in a Manchester Rd. shopping center. A Muslim friend who immigrated from Pakistan brought me to the store part of MM to show me some of the foods, ingredients, etc. that he likes to eat and cook with. I especially enjoyed learning about the Halal meat which you can watch the butcher prepare in the back corner. The store is connected to a side restaurant where they serve traditional Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi dishes.
Worst experience today. Ordered minced meat and couple other stuff. He gave me mutton mix curry cut and If you think this was just a mistake this happened for me couple of time I ordered lamb and got goat the person said its both the same.lol horrible service.
I called to make an order and who ever answered me was very rude and hung up on me. I will never go to this very expensive place again. i will go to salam market instead
Not a fast service at the meat dept... rest of all is good.
Worst costmer service. Stay away
Very satisfied
Very bed customer service, every time I call to order something, they always say hang on and I always wait for3-5 minutes. Even I call them 30-40 minutes early for order and after I going to pick up it’s still not ready.Everyone is rude.
I love the fact that i find very rare picks from Pakistan. Refreshes adult of memories but its soooooo over prized
Gave order on phone when I went to pick up the person lied on my face and being rude stating I had no order.I am not sure why they are opening a new store across the street with such attitude.
Very nice people. Sometimes there is a language barrier bit if you are patient it can be a good experience.
Weve been doing online ordering and curbside pickup for several months now. Highly recommend this service. Selection is fantastic too.
GOOD STORE specially for Muslims...Halal Food..
All the items other than meat I won’t recommend here, grocery won’t be fresh at all
Placed the order by phone, the guy said come and pickup the food in 30 minutes. I have reached there around 7:50PM. Waited 20 minutes in line. When I go to the counter, the guy told your order is not there. I’m coming from 15miles far. They not answer the proper way. No one told at least sorry. Worst staff, worst answering, they not know how to answer customers.Management also not good.
Editing my review after 11 months... Meat quality is going down for the last two months and not sure what they are doing when we place PHONE orders due to covid. I hope they are not fooling customers and I will change the rating if they restore quality in the future.
In recent times, am repeatedly noticing too many bones (more than 80%) in the lamb shoulder order which I place every time. is this something to do with the new pattern of online orders? Switching back to Salam market or Pan Asia would be my alternative. Anyone else noticing the same?
I really love coming to this store! People are nice and I find a variety of foods here that I cant find elsewhere.
Most they are stuff they have in the stor all is expired 😕 .
Quality service. Good place to get fresh meat and south Asian street food
I ordered one goat shoulder through phone and after few mins I went to store and picked it up from meat section and paid for it at the cash counter.. it costs me $28.50 around including tax for 2.47 pounds.. after reaching home I felt it weighs less, so I weighed at my home and it was only 2 pounds..usually I order only goat shoulder or leg as it will have more flesh.. but on that day I found bone itself for around 1 pound.. so literally I paid $28.50 for 1 pound of flesh.. if you are picking up your phone order, please check the weight before you pay for it..
I don’t know how this place is still open. Selling expired items and won’t take any returns. Someone needs to inspect all the items sold in this store and shut it down if they find expired items. I bought 5 dosa batters, 4 of them had the seal open. When I went back to return it, the owner said it’s the state law to not take in any items that was sold. I am never ever shopping here again.
Its not made clear how to order meat from the butchers, but thats a mild complaint. Everybody was friendly, helpful, and understanding. Im white, and I wasnt judged for shopping in a Desi market--they let me hang, and I appreciate the openness.
I found this store very welcoming and conveniently its a one stop for all the grocery
I asked for baby goat and what I got is goat and all rubber while eating. They used to be good and not anymore. They hiked prices ridiculously. They need differentiate prices between goat and baby goat
Get everything I need
Mideast market St. louis is my go to store for groceries. They have a great selection of Pakistani and Indian products. Flour, rice, beans, spices, meat and snacks–they have the best quality.
Attitude matters. Everything is good with this store except the response I got today over the call. Last night we ordered food and some groceries for pick up and its great that the store is open in such a time and are able to deliver groceries and food. My friend went to pick up and she forgot to pick up one of the two food packets as both the items ordered were pasted on the same packet. She thought it was the same pack which had both the items and she picked only one. Also we were told that it will be ready at 7PM and my friend went there at around 7:45PM. So I understand there was a little bit of rush and it was a genuine mistake. So I called the store up and just explained them that we forgot to pick up one of the items, thats it, in a very soft tone. This is where it all went wrong. The person on the other side over the phone from the store started off saying everything was on the table, why didnt you pick it up and you come at 7:45 when I said it will be ready by 7 and now I had to throw away food and continued in an aggressive tone which feels like they are doing us a favor by giving/donating us food.We PAID for that food. I know it was our mistake and it was an unfortunate one, but as a customer I just wanted to talk to them and see if they can refund OR make another order OR there is no way they can do anything... I am here to accept any outcome but not the response I got. ATTITUDE MATTERS towards your customers.I never asked anything (like refund/new order as I know its our mistake not picking up the food) else except explaining them what happened. I didnt expect the store individual to be so aggressive. Its unfortunate that I had this experience with the store. Anyways I am not a regular customer to that store and I dont feel like losing my business in the future might not make any difference for them. I understand that you guys are busy and tired at the store will all the deliveries, preparing pickup orders and setting up the store for your customers BUT ALL I WANT TO SAY IS PLEASE RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO KEEP YOU GOING. I hope its only me who had such an experience and everyone else had a good experience with this store.
If you want fresh meat 🥩visit Mideast market.
Their gyros is stellar, and the fellow who prepares it is very pleasant. The store has some unique offerings, but its tightly packed. The dining area is stark. Essentially, Im giving it four stars almost solely based on the gyros. Buy some!
Great prices! They offer a wide range of products from the Indian subcontinent.Weve always loved the range of fresh cut meat that they offer.Make sure you say - Amigo! to the guys at the meat counter, cheers!
These guys are too commercial. The price for goat or lamb meat is costly
Excellent grocery store to purchase fresh kosher meat
Really neat place! Amazing fresh food cooked to order also. Could spend hours walking around here!
Owner is so rude and disrespectful after my last grocery in their store when arrived home noticed that meat they had sold me was totally rotten. I so politely went back to store to let the owner know about the not good condition of the meat, despite he argued with me he called cops on me telling cops that he felt threat on my appearance in front of his store. But I explained everything to cops and Alhamdolliah luckily cops understood the reality and told store owner give me my money back.
Great place to buy meat!
Best quality of meat available in St. Louis area
Very pricy store and stuff need to change their customer service style
Owner is ridiculously rude, the one without the beard.. we come here every two weeks and spend our hard earned money (hundreds of dollars) .. they have been rude repeatedly but i kept giving them the benefit of doubt but not anymore.. may Allah show you and bring you down so all this eagerness can go away with your money.. my baddua is that you and your family will rot here and hereafter.
Yummy falafel & gyros!
They have increased the price of everything during covid time when compare with most of the other desi shops. Avoid if you can, go to salam market or pan asia for Halal meat.
Meat standard is going down day by day order not ready even called them wrost customer service
Awesome prices, good quality. Great selection. Good shop at great location.
Best place for fresh goat & lamb meat 🥩
If youre looking for gyro meat its like $10 a pound but it is well worth it. Not to mention that I found all of the things that I would need for any of my Mediterranean foods. The size of naan breads that they had freshly made in the baskets in the front were just amazing. I highly suggest going here for lunch the Gyros are huge and the food is amazing.
This grocery store is wonderful. It is nice and clean and has everything you need.
One good store in st.louis that sells halal meat and fresh. I have been to many other stores in st.louis competitive they have the best goat and lamb which is fresh
This is a real game changer; after the visit, my life will never change. Restore my faith in all religions
Great place for meat.
Very convenient, helpful staff, meat is always fresh and cut right, we have been shopping here for two years and so far no complaints.
The best middle Eastern market in West county by far. Their spices and dried goods alone are worth the trip, let alone the fact that they have a little restaurant type spot in the back of the store and everything is tasty. Also great selection of hard to find produce.
I go here only for meat and vegetables. Meat is good so as vegetables. But other food on the rack is old. Once I bought Rice bag, which is kind of old, oily and stinking. Customer service is good at the meat counter but not at the main check out. The person at the check out never do eye contact and never bothers to respond when you ask something. I think he feels like he is doing some favor to the customers having the store there.Again these are my views after attending this store. Others might be happy with the services here. I still go to this place for meat. I recommend this place for meat but not if you are expecting some good Customer friendly environment.
Love the staff! Always so helpful and I just love learning from them about the products Ive never seen!
This place is always packed but has some great items for reasonable prices!!
I wish I had a chance to give negative rating. I gave a online order and drive 15 miles to reach there to know that they didn’t take the order. IDIOTS. This is not the way business runs.. Guys don’t encourage these idiots.
My go to Halal market. The pricing on the things I buy seem average/fair. The guys on the meat department are nice and peasant; they are not afraid of the equipment and therefore cut your meat as requested. I also stop at the restaurant and bring home and order of chicken biryani and its always delicious. The gyros are great also.
The little food place in the back was why we came. Delicious gyros. Were excited to go back. The store has an awesome selection of exotic fruits and vegetables, including boxed fruit juices. If you need authentic mideastern ingredients, this is your place!
