Friendly wait staff, great food. Love the whole vibe! I didnt get this, but 2 in my group were raving about the sweet&salty toasted sandwich. My food was fresh and cooked well. Perfect temp. Will def return :)
When the place gets busy, the owner turns off WiFi in an effort to get customers to hurry up and leave. I have spent $40 on food, coffee, juice and been in middle of a work session on laptop and he just turns off the WiFi with no warning. Forcing me to ditch my $40 of food and leave in order to continue my work session. What kind of cafe does that?
Went to dinner with my family last week and had an amazing meal!
We have been going to The Wolf for years and love the food and the atmosphere. But today we decided to eat inside because of the hot outside weather. We wore our masks inside, as did the majority of customers, when we ordered and then before our food was served. We were surprised and upset that the woman taking our orders and our server(the owner)were not wearing masks. The reason we felt safe eating inside was because we always felt they cared about our health.Needless to say if we ever return to The Wolf it will be when the mask mandate is over or when we can sit outside!
I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is cozy and the decorations here are so cool. The staff is really friendly and has always been helpful. The Vietnamese coffee is to die for!! All of the food we have tried has not disappointed. Another reason we really like this place is because they use local farms for their ingredients and they recycle/compost almost everything. Ive been here 3 times in 2 weeks and everyone Ive come here with has loved it as well.
Super creative menu! Hash is a peppery combination of pan roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet potato, red onion, and mushrooms, served with 2 fried eggs. Delicious coffee!
The atmosphere of this place is so cool! Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been wonderful but their chocolate chip cookies are to die for!
My favorite place to eat! I never feel gross after eating here. I love that they offer vegetarian and vegan options! I could eat here everyday!! The staff is ALWAYS friendly! Even when they are slammed. Such a great vibe in there too!
Nice environment, efficient service, good food. The grass-fed burgers are surely the best in St. Louis.
Food is consistently delicious and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend!
Overall cool spot. A little pricey
There are so many great things I could say about this place but you should truly experience it yourself. Morning or night, the coffee, food and drinks are all wonderful. A personal favorite for breakfast is their Avocado toast! Kyle is the friendliest human ever and always greets you with a smile and superb service! Thanks again!
Friendly. Great coffee. Lots of seating. Awesome vibe to the place.
The food here is Phenomenal! This place had been on my radar for awhile. I finally made it there and it was even better than expected. I had the Hash with sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and a couple of eggs overeasy. The vegetables were cooked just right and full of flavor. The eggs had a bright orange yolk. You can tell the quality of an egg by the yolk. These eggs were full of flavor and top quality. I also had a cappuccino. Its one of the best I have had in the St. Louis area. They have a menu filled with delicious options. I will definitely be back to try more.
We came here for breakfast and loved it. Delicious food, friendly staff, great coffee, and reasonable prices. We will definitely be returning!
I really enjoyed my brunch here. I originally planned to get the Chipotle chili, but the lady at the counter convinced me to get the skillet (Slinger?) that had the chili in it. Im glad I changed, it was delicious. My friend got the hash, which was fantastic as usual. We split part of a cookie dough cup, I was surprised at how delicious it was and the fact that the sweetness was not overpowering. After the food we both got a mug for coffee. The coffee was great, but Im not sure Id say it stood out apart from other good coffee in the area. The soda machine was intriguing and I hope to try it next time. The decor and feel of the place was very nice and welcoming and eye catching. I recommend a stop by. Expect to pay around $10 a person w/o drinks. Great quality food and drinks that dont break the bank or the Earth. 😊🌎👍
My wife and I have been for breakfast multiple times and lunch the last time. Our burgers, which were recommended to us by others, were fantastic. The beef tasted very fresh and beefy - the flavor and cooking style were both great. Our salad as a side was dressed perfectly and complemented the burger wonderfully. We look forward to returning for either meal - we have enjoyed everything weve gotten here!
Everything was so fresh and delicious! Cool vibe too. Not at all what youd expect in a very beige suburb. An indie oasis!
This warm and friendly counter-service sandwich shop serves sandwiches and burgers with locally-grown produce. The menu features some fine pairings (I had the Kahuna Burger with caramelized onions, pineapple jam, two LUCIOUS tomato slices and spring greens. Drool. The inside dining areas are charming, with a cool little bar, plus a music room (features live music). The patio is great, but it faces Clayton Road -- so more traffic/noise than one would like. Pricing is pretty much in line with what you get. Still, a little pricey. So overall, two big tasty thumbs up.
Great food. Reasonable price. Used to go almost every week. Haven’t been since COVID-19. Is the open mic back yet?
Love this local spot. It’s full of character and charm. Food was A+
The Wolf is the quintessential community hub. Ballwin residents and the wider West County community flock to this part-restaurant/part-coffee shop/part-bar. There is a breakfast, lunch, and dinner rush for folks looking for high-quality, local ingredients and meals that fit various dietary needs (my favorites are the Slinger for breakfast and the Black Bear for lunch/dinner). Business men and women, pastors, and students frequently sit for hours and work from home while sipping coffee. And for those looking for some craft beer, an evening glass of wine, or a creative cocktail, the bar element is also well above average. In addition to the great food and drink on offer, its hard to beat the general vibe of The Wolf: quirky and local art all over the walls, staff members full of cheer, a compost bin of sorts, and special events ranging from weekly open mic nights to annual 5K races. It is definitely not cheap compared to other restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but their commitment to local, healthy, and ethical eating is not cheap on their end either. It is a great value for what you are receiving, and there are few places where you feel better about spending your hard-earned money.
It was my first time there and I got the patty melt Burger. The meat was exceptional and the flavors were excellent as well. Ordering is more like ordering at Bread company or a fast food restaurants but the sit-down experience is more like a nice Cafe Restaurant. Overall highly recommend and based on the appetizer and burger seems like everything is going to have really good flavor there
Love me some fried egg sandwich!!
I love the Wolf!!!! I always come here, to get brunch or lunch. The choices are amazing and the food is always so fresh. The drinks are also great, I recommend their iced coffee or hot lattes. They are so good. Every time I am home from college, me and my friends have to come here. The atmosphere is amazing too. Please visit this local gem!
The music seems to always please at the Wolf! And the food does as well. It is a little more expensive than average, but well worth it.11/30/19. Heard tonight no more groups over two people. Salt of the Earth played tonight. The place was packed. Many gave up and left. The owner must not like making huge profits because that is what they did tonight. Sad.
Cute, offers vegan choices. Nice little café for after school study, coffee dates, and a relaxing evening. They do have live music several nights a week.
Long time customer but just experienced terrible customer service. I was out walking the dog and decided I wanted a coffee but I didnt have a mask on me. I called them up to explain the situation and not only did they say they couldnt take my order and give it to me outside, they wanted to charge me an upcharge for a mask to come inside and pay. I will never go here again.
Absolutely love this place! The Birdsong coffee is amazing and the Spinach and Chicken salad was delicious.
This is my favorite café because the workers are so kind and the food is really good!
The Wolf is a classic mon and pop restaurant with the atmosphere of a coffee shop. It has Great employees and Progressive food.
Loved it, everyone was nice and food was good.
Best restaurant around the area! Love their food and desserts.
Best restaurant in west county period. Fresh, health conscious food that never lacks flavor or flair with the absolute best staff. I literally go here some days for breakfast, lunch, and dinner its so good. Plus the atmosphere is just great too, with the walls adorning art for purchase, records and signs explaining how they keep their restaurant local, organic, and sustainable.
Superb!! Delightful and attentive staff, excellent quality food and they are super enironmental friendly, with no plastic, etc. They offer entertainment in te evenings too! Best coffee ever, they offer scones, cookies, etc. too.
Love everything on the menu, especially the sweet and salty grilled cheese
Called to let the gal know my extra sauce on the side wasnt in there it was on my sandwhich instead of on the side and she tried to tell me to ask for it for the tots next time instead. I guess someone doesn’t understand what ON THE SIDE means. Its not a big deal, but im in here 2-3x a week to get the same order so its a little annoying especially when she tried to correct me on the name of the sauce🤣like my bad im just calling it by what your employees told me it was. Open your ears 👂.
This place is AMAZING! From the fun chic atmosphere to the employees to the food! I was really impressed how serious they are about the safety of their guests. A family walked in without masks and they told them they needed them. Not all places are doing that. The food was beyond expectations! I had the avo toast and would definitely order it again and again!
The Wolf is a great restaurant. The vibe, the food, the concept are all excellent. But the prices have gone up and the service has gotten slower. This trend started pre-COVID and it’s continued (more understandably) into the late summer now. Makes me sad, cause the restaurant is one of our favorites.
Healthy eatery that makes a outstanding effort in making interesting food combos.
Great atmosphere! Good food as well
Good food, friendly service, and fun atmosphere.
OMG. Loved it and vegan friendly plus good beer selection
Good restaurant. Only thing this place needs is more service. This place is served by MetroBus route number 57X Clayton Road Express. The bus really comes from the Ellisville area over by Dierbergs on Clarkson at Clayton. This place is only one minute walking distance from the stop located at Clayton Road and Clayheath. The route needs more runs on it though. I should have mentioned this route before the major service overhaul.
Great service, great food. The whole family enjoys coming here. The atmosphere is nice and the food is always delicious!
I just moved the area a week ago. Moved here for a great job and don’t have a car. I’ve come to the Wolf about 3 times to work on online training for the day. On my third visit, the owner asked me to leave if I didn’t buy anything. I have bought something every single time I have visited. This is a terribly run establishment. How welcoming is that to ask me to leave when I bought something and simply need a place to work with wifi?! Not to mention they do not have working wifi. I have had to use my phone’s personal hotspot everytime. If you’re looking for a good coffee shop, this is NOT your place. Go somewhere more welcoming.
I have come here a couple of times; once to watch some friends play music and once to study. I’m in nursing school and my friends and I are constantly looking for a coffee shop to study at and drink coffee since that’s what we live off of these days. My friend and I were there for a good 4 hours studying last week. We both got two coffees and ate lunch there. I spent probably $25-$30 while I was there and made sure to tip each time. The coffee shop really wasn’t that busy besides the lunch rush, but majority of people were getting food to go. Out of no where, the WiFi went out. I thought it was maybe something on my end until my friend, who I referred to go there, went today and said the same thing happened to her. She had the accusation that the restaurant shuts the WiFi off on purpose. She asked them if they could fix it and they never did. I came on here to look at other reviews to see if the same thing happens to them and sure enough the owner even said it on a review from two days ago from a guy named Bret who had the same issue. The owners response to that specific review was very unprofessional and rude. I understand it is COVID and restaurants are at limited capacity, but I spent a lot of money there for the WiFi to be shut off. If the coffee shop doesn’t want people there studying, then they just shouldn’t have WiFi advertised... All my classmates and I were so excited about this new study spot, but unfortunately will not be returning.
Great food, service, and social distancing practices
The is always so good. The staff is awesome.
Best - and the only real one in my opinion - coffee house and cafe in west county. We drive here from 44 and 109, a whole lot. Fabulous staff, fresh food with lots of healthy options, great environment and vibe (the new c baby mural is awesome!). Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, coffee, juice, its all fantastic. Our entire family loves it.
Being from the Northwest I love coffee shops and there arent very many around this area. So this will do.
Really good stuff!!! probably the prettiest place ive been too in a while. perfect place for a date :) 💜
The salmon blt was amazing!
Always the BEST food and coffees and customer service.... ALWAYS !
Great food and lots of fun.
It was spontaneous visit based on the very positive feedback from my friend. My feedback is the very positive too: cozy and warm interior, friendly and nice personnel, great choice of the taste dishes made from A+++++ grade ingredients.Bottom side: menu items could be ordered only from the page related to the current time of day but it wasnt an issue at all because they are having a lot of variants. And yes, it is very yummy!!!Recommend it totally!P.S. It is possible to order an alcohol here too.
Awesome local place - the workers are always SO NICE and the food is delicious with a hand-made feel. I do wish the coffee game was a little better, as theres no place to find a really good latte in the surrounding area. But their sandwiches are so tasty :-)
Enjoyed the food. Nice menu for mostly vegan selection.
Awesome food, people and atmosphere.
Colorful. Great coffee.
Love this place! Breakfast there twice and it was a hit with the whole family. I hate to give it a good review as I want it to stay a secret but its out now. Give it a try. Will do dinner there as the beer and wine list looks great! Everything is all natural with locally grown fare.
Good place to go, but everything is so expensive ...and no free refills on ice tea? What? And was here at 3:03 one day and tried to order a veggie sandwich...they stop serving it at 3:00. really...customer service has slipped...
OMG. The Chocolate Peanut Butter pie was divine.
Our first time here, and we are impressed! The food was fresh and delicious. That peanut butter pie was the best dessert Ive had in a long time. Its a casual atmosphere for enjoying conversations around good food. When we went on Saturday night there was a room where we could also listen to live music.
The service here was nice, very sanitary and just an amazing environment to be in
This was a dinner with friends and we all enjoyed it. The place is very casual and fun. The staff were friendly. We did not hang out for the music but they had live music on saturday that looked like it would have been cool. I will return and will also recommend for a good me a great place to just hang out
The Wolf Cafe is one of our favorite local hang-outs for an evening of good music and good food in a comfortable, welcoming environment. Their listening room has good acoustics and their selection of salads, sandwiches and beverages always satisfies. You can easily find a listing of the live music groups performing every weekend. Definitely worth checking out for a casual and fun evening of music, food and drink.
Outstanding cuisine!
This place is really cool. Its soup, salad and sandwich cafe. You can do a half sandwich half soup of salad deal. Their options are very good. They have a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful staff.
Amazing place. Delicious. Great staff. Going to great lengths to keep everyone safe and I admire that! ❤
Love this place! Breakfast there twice and it was a hit with the whole family. I hate to give it a good review as I want it to stay a secret but its out now. Give it a try. Will do dinner there as the beer and wine list looks great! Everything is all natural with locally grown fare.
The Wolf has quality food for everyone! My family can have burgers and pizza while I have many delicious plant-based options. The staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is unlike other West County restaurants. You can listen to live music, order a cozy latte or cold craft beer. You must try The Wolf!
Cold food and wait staff, never to go back.
A great shot of character out here in Wonder land.
Just had the most lovely lunch at The Wolf. The customer service was incredible. We had a baby in our party, and the entire team was patient with us while we got our wallet out of diaper bag and set-up the baby. Everyone was friendly. Furthermore, the food was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely LOVE this cafe. They have mic nights with live music throughout the month. The food is excellent, Ive never had a bad meal or service! This is definitely the new quirky neighborhood hang out place. Often go up to meet friends or study. Plus they have a great selection for people who need to eat gluten free.
Amazing food and service. Love to support local this is duch a great place
Nice selection of food, including vegan options. Great place to grab a tasty meal and some coffee or juice. Evening music options are fun.
Always good!
Great local place that promotes STL beverages and homegrown ingredients! Try the Sweet & Salty Grilled Cheese. Definitely enjoyed the Maple Vinaigrette on the side salad. Overall, fantastic place in West County.
Great hang out for a chat, date night, or game night with friends. Open mics, improv, etc on various nights. Brunch. You can even just sit on your laptop and get some work done. Very nice atmosphere. Excellent coffee.
Yall, you have to go here. Its literally the cutest. Seriously, the atmosphere is amazing. Great food too!
This had very tasteful food! I thoroughly enjoyed the vegan chili and chocolate chip cookie. Also, the service was good. And the vibe of the place was like nothing I had ever seen, but in a good way! It was cute! Great for lunch.
Love The Wolf. Great beers, great food (locally sourced), and outstandingly friendly staff.
