Service was quick and courteous and involved replacing a battery under warranty that had a dead cell. There was no charge. This was the second less than two year old battery replacement under warranty. Service person said it might be due to new electronics drain on the battery.

We were notified of a recall repair needed to replace a defective fuel pump in our 2020 Legacy. After making the appointment we were reminded of our appointment via email and no less than two text messages. Today, I drove to the dealership which is 49.5 miles from my home for my scheduled appointment. Upon arrival I was notified that the service department did not have the part needed to make the repair. When I challenged the service person how this could be, he said, You should have called to see if the part was in before driving all the way over here. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I reminded him, they accepted the appointment, they knew what part they needed, they reminded me no less than three times that i had the appointment, and you even scheduled a loaner car: which he proceeded to tell me was also a mistake because they did not have that available either. Does the word inept come to mind for anyone else? This is without question the worst customer service experience I have ever had in a dealership. I would not, under any circumstances, recommend DeanTeam Subaru. And, if I could post less than 1-star, trust me, I would.
Dave Smith is an absolute gem. He made the whole buying experience an absolute pleasure. If Pat Dean can clone him he needs to try . Dave spent time explaining the infotainment system and told me to call any time for anything I needed more help with . He truly means service after the sale. Thanks again Dave.
Im very satisfied with my Forester and slowly learning how to use ALL the different features. I think it would be beneficial if Dean Team could initiate a form of training for new, and possibly present owners of older Subarus, a program on a Saturday morning with a duration of one to possibly one and a half hours where a technician or sales person to discuss one or two functions. After some time the Dean Team could focus in on the most common area that customers have questions about. If successful, this could be a marketing tool. If not successful, no harm done.Ed Meyer

I was in the process of buying a used car from these. They offered me what sounded like a good deal, with a decent financing option, good interest rate. I was set to pick up the car the next morning. Next thing I know the dealer I worked with is telling me that “The Bank” won’t finance the car unless I put up $2,000 more for the down payment. This didn’t sound right to me, so I made some calls to figure out what was going on. Turns out the car was worth much less than they were selling it for, which is why no place was willing to finance it. I called them up and said I’d be willing to buy it if they lowered the price to something more reasonable, never heard back from them. They’re nice guys— just make sure you check and see if they’re hiking the prices of their cars ridiculously if you’re looking to buy from them.The guy I worked with was Paul Beirman. Nice guy. Except he didn’t have the decency to call me back about the car I was supposed to buy.
If I could give 10 stars I would! I can’t say enough about the customer service provided by Annie in the service department. I had a short timeline to identify issues with my Subaru Fleet vehicle before a 5000 mile road trip. She went above and beyond to make sure I hit the road in a safe vehicle. A million thanks!! Phil Dean was incredibly arrogant and has lost sight of customer service. Bought multiple cars at this location and would strongly advise going to any other Subaru location in St. Louis before this one. Sunset and Lou fusz Subaru are far more professional throughout the process

I could have bought a pre-owned Kia anywhere, but after trying out several cars there, I was won over by Johns work ethic and decided to buy from him even if it meant looking through a few more. Bought a new 2021 ascent. At 1,500 miles the battery died because the hatch was open. Called the dealer and talked to the service manager who he said they could prevent this from happening. Took it in and they said it could not be fixed and the battery would drain if we leave the hatch open. They said the solution was to not leave the hatch open which was a very disappointing solution.

Came in on a semi-whim last November to check out a very specific 2017 Outback. Myles Eaton was there with just the right amount of knowledge, but wasnt afraid to admit when he didnt know something and would have to check. Id let him know of the plan to sell my vehicle privately and there was no pressure to trade. I test drove the car and decided to take some time to consider.I texted an offer, which was initially declined, but after a few more days we met in the middle. Id requested a new battery since the old one was corroded and swelling. It hadnt been replaced when I picked it up on a Saturday, but he had one waiting a few days later. Aside from hitting the hood latch with some WD40 there havent been any other issues. Whoever did the final detailing didnt ensure the hood was closed well, as it popped up when I got onto the interstate. No big deal, but I did let Myles know to keep an eye out in the future.

We were able to complete the financing online, which made coming into the dealership and completing the paperwork so much faster. I have to change my review. Previously I had a good experience here, this time I will never go back.I made an appointment for service to have my air conditioning looked at, I dropped off my car at 820 in the morning I dont hear anything from them all day. I end up calling them around 4 to see if it is fixed or if they even have an estimate only to find out they hadnt looked at it yet. I call back a few minutes later to see if I can get a loaner car for the next day, I leave a message and dont hear back. The call me at noon the next day, it rings once and I miss the call, but I call back and leave a message. When I hear from them, they tell me they havent found the cause but did find a dozen other things including an oil change which isnt near the 5000 mile interval that the manual suggests, after I say Im not interested they call back an hour later and say its the ac compressor and that its going to be around $1300. Its quite a jump from we dont know whats wrong to replacing the most expensive part of the ac. Did they not test the compressor when they charged me $139 diagnostic fee and only came back with change the cabin air filter?
Not going to lie, I hate buying a new car. Partially because Ive had less than great dealers/salesmen and then, really, I dont enjoy spending wads of cash. But six months after buying a Subaru Outback from Drew Sheetz at Dean Kirkwood, I still have a halo around the experience.Today I had a question about something with the car and thought about getting online to try and find it but as I pulled up my phone, I thought maybe I could just send Drew a quick text. He asked a few questions and pinned down what I needed. As I apologized for bothering him, we said hes there to help. I cant help but wonder whether I would have a different view of buying a car had a sales person like him helped me that first time.Seriously, I spent hours looking at cars and at various dealerships trying to decide what I wanted, knowing all wheel drive was a priority and wanted some upgrades on safety, but didnt want anything that drove sluggishly since Im used to more of a sports car. Drew took time to figure out who I was, what I wanted, make suggestions and ask more questions. He helped me make my decision, didnt pressure me to buy what he wanted to sell.I have taken the car in for service and had to get something added to it early on and Ive found the team easy to work with, able to set and follow expectations on timing, etc. Just wanted to say thanks again Drew. Hope you arent too surprised if I text again in a few months with a question. LOL

The 2019 and 2020 Ascents obviously have something that is not working correctly. When shifted into gear when cold the transmission emits a squeal. Technician told me that he went out to the parking lot and tried several and all Ascents did it....he then said there are no fixes out for this problem and had kept my car for two days. A waste of my time. I am on my fourth Subaru but the problems with the 2015 forester burning oil and now this have made me a non believer. Technician was a nice guy though
I purchased a used car and the extended warranty. I called the over a week ago with a problem my car was having. I had to leave a message. No one has ever returned my call. I will never purchase from them again. Custom service is a big part of business. I hav never felt welcome after I purchased my car.

We went to several different car dealers before we got there, and we were met by Paul in the used car department. we were trying to find a car for my daughter whos moving to Pennsylvania and we looked at so many cars and we got told so many different stories it wasnt funny, but when we got to talking with Paul and he showed us what he had and what we were willing to pay was what they were willing to take so all in all it was a great experience.I cant say enough good about our experience with the Dean team I would highly recommend them to anybody if youre looking for a new car or a used car theyre just top-of-the-line people you cant get better than them in my opinion.

I have my first Subaru outback and I needed some suspension nuts and bolts ($95 btw). I asked for a quote so I could plan this out and I got turned down, saying they cant give out part #s. 1. why can I not get the part #s? All experiences at Land Rover and BMW were phenomenal because they actually tell you the part numbers so you know exactly what your getting. Its much easier to get a wrong part when we dont know what your giving us. I just needed to look at how much the bolts are gonna be so I can do say, front first then do the backs. Guess not though.*Edit*After looking online I finally found some OEM hardware just to find out that $95 isnt that bad, meaning that if I coulda just seen an invoice I coulda ordered the hardware from you guys. But now Im certain I wont.Thanks for the waste of time.

I originally purchased my vehicle from this dealership in 2016. I recently took my vehicle in for a recall. Everyone that I spoke with at the service department was friendly. I had no issues with the services that they performed. My only disappointment is that they did not address the one item that I specifically asked them to take of for me. My MAF sensor was dirty and was causing the car to run very rough. I asked them to clean it and they declined. There explanation for not cleaning it was that I have aftermarket parts on the car. I do not see why this is an issue? The car had a problem, and there was a simple fix that was requested. The aftermarket parts do not change the process for cleaning a sensor.

Took our newer Accent in for service, and the service department noticed extreme wear on the tires and recommended that the tires not be rotated because they were bad.I was disappointed that a newer vehicle had tires that were already severely worn out. In a discussion w/our Subaru service tech, he suggested that we call a consumer number at Subaru and explain the situation I was so surprised when the employee took the time to hear me out and offer to replace the tires. He stood behind the Subaru product and wanted me to feel the same level of confidence. I must admit, I was shocked that a manufacturer was willing to stand behind their product!!This is our second Subaru vehicle and we are amazed at the level of performance & reliability of the cars. I took my 2018 Limited Edition Outback in for a tire and alignment. The service advisor, Jeff Price, was great!! Took care of me from start to finish. I thought for sure I would be there for at least an hour or more. It only took them 30 minutes or so from start to finish. The young lady who checked me out was very friendly and helpful. I am always sold by good service and friendly treatment. When I walked in the door looking for a new WRX Andrew proceeded to show me exactly what I was looking for. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car and answered any questions I had. He treated me like an adult and didnt blow me off because of my age (which most dealers seem to do) which I greatly appreciated. Extremely down to earth and friendly. I never even considered another dealer after the first time in Dean Team!
