Horrible experience. We had some friends in from out of town who wanted to get some souvenirs before returning home. We decided to try this place out since it had good reviews. We walked into an empty shop and were immediately confronted by the cashier asking if we had masks. When we stated we didnt (since most places no longer require them) she refused to even let us enter and told us to go buy masks before we came back. Im sorry, but if you are still planning to require masks, you should either offer them customers complementary or sell them in your shop. We ended up finding another cool shop next door that allowed us to enter and shop without masks. My friends spent over $100 on souvenirs at the other shop. We have friends in from out of town all the time and I am always looking for cool places to take them. I can confidently say that this shop will never receive my service again while the shop next door has gained a couple new loyal customers. Talk about a bad experience.

Although we went in on the last ten minutes of business they were still very wonderful and amazing! Very courteous, the exact thing I look for in customer service! As someone who collects post cards, I had a great variety to pick from and they had a buy 5 for a $5 or one for $1.50 so I got a solid 15 because I lived the variety offered 😂 they also had a lot of oddities and nick-nacks throughout their little store and just had a great environment and feeling to it. Either the employees honestly love their place of work or are experienced enough to pretend they do and not show that they actually dont.

The black scorpion is a great showman. I loved this place. Highlight of my visit to Austin!

Curious curios shop, loads of interesting oddities and a museum to boot. Had I more time, I definitely hit the sideshow museum up.

Not what I expected at all. We thought it would be more weird like fun weird, but it was geared more towards like horror/science gone wrong weird. Im sure its a great little place for people but not somewhere Id take my kid again.

This place was HILARIOUS. Loved the sarcastic gifts, vibrant artwork, walk-through museum of oddeties (pay for tickets, just do it, yolo), and laughs with my partner as we ventured through this curious shop.

A lot of fun! The people who work there are friendly. Saul told my fortune and was a great tour guide. The shop is full of fun souvenirs. Was a great way to spend some of my limited time in Austin!

Weird is an understatement. The staff was super friendly, and passionate about their work. Took the weird tour and I confidently say it was the weirdest thing Ive ever see. From the two headed lamb, to the haunted skeleton there was never a dull moment. The freak show at the end of the tour was great! If you have 30 minutes to spare, check out the weird!

Little touristy, but nice staff and one of the only places with postcards in Austin

Cute place! I love the gift selection, but the Museum of the Weird is the highlight of Sixth Street. You must check it out.

Okay, I know its for tourists, and yes, its weird enough to qualify for doing its part for keeping Austin weird. And I liked all the oddities in the shop...great postcards (I love weird postcards!).But the museum was, well, think a low-budget side show in a lean season. That about sums it up. But maybe thats the point...so tacky and kitchy its cool! Yeah, Austin weird for sure!#30DayChallenge #Austin Day 10
