A really great store that is worth the trip. They get a really interesting mix of products from state agencies and TSA so you will never know what you find. Pricing here is pretty fair and you wont find too many things over priced or way under priced. The rear section of the store is warehouse full of office furniture and office supplies. This is the place to go if you need a desk, knife or computer peripherals in Austin.
Let me just say that this is one of the most interesting stores I have ever been to. I have lived in Austin, Texas for many years, and only recently I stumbled across this place and decided to visit. I was not disappointed. This place has an immense selection of random furniture, electronics, power tools, etc. at extremely good prices! I bought a small, two-drawer HON file cabinet for only $10 (it even has wheels and a dual brake system to stop it from rolling away). To make the deal even more amazing, there was an unopened bag of spare parts tucked inside, which turned out to be a mounting system that allows you to mount file folders along the length of the drawer rather than across it. I also bought a PC DVD player (the kind that slides into the drive bay in a computer case) for only $5 (which worked perfectly when I plugged it in). Granted, most of the items in the store are used, and some may not be in the best shape, but it makes exploring this store feel more like a treasure hunt rather than a boring outing. They have the most interesting selection of items: typewriters, desks, computer monitors, calculators, staplers, cassette players, tiny cameras, you name it. You never know what you are going to find there, which makes it all the more exciting!
They have some decent items once in a while. A bunch of used knives, a bunch of multi tools and miscellaneous stuff. They also have outdated office equipment. If your into refurbishing or repurposing this is the place for you.
You can find a lot of the same style of items here: knives, tools, desks, filing cabinets, etc. They have some good quality items with the knives, multi tools, etc. The prices are pretty reasonable for the most part. I thought the multi-tools were a little overpriced. It was pretty cool looking around and seeing what you could find. Its worth a visit if you are into that sort of thing.
Great place to find some amazing deals on used government surplus
Surprisingly easy to navigate and locate items - at least for me.
Lots of odds and ends. Prices are good.
Its no retail outlet, but its a little treasure chest if youre prepared to educate yourself and search properly. I picke up a nice quality pocket knife for a steal of a price.
Waste. of. time. basically looks like a thrift store with a bunch of used items. there is a front room with smaller items like knives (lots of knives), cheap jewelry and watches, etc. the larger space is a warehouse full of office furniture (LOTS of file cabinets).if you like thrift stores or need office furniture, then this is your spot.otherwise, not worth it.
If you want something and have trouble finding it look here..and....cheap knifes.....
Great deals on most things. Remodeled shop area is nice to get that extra space between people
Clean ...can easily see what for sale and the price
Great place to shop for unusual things . Friendly staff
Big selection of used furniture and odds and ends... Can find very useful stuff here. and the people were great! Super friendly and genuinely happy to see you👍
Busy with a lot things to look through!
If you enjoy picking through surplus odds and ends mostly from closed government offices and buildings like I do, this is your place. Also sell old police cars.
Never know what youll find here. Alot of what TSA confiscates end up here, or you can find yourself some out of use state furniture, even fully framed office pictures. Picked up some full on kevlar tactical helmets last week for $25/ea, some of them never used. Take a gander you just might find something youll like
Good place to get office furniture.
Cant beat a buck knife for $3.The two employees were very rude.
Lots of cool cheap stuff here
I love this store. Dont go though, I want all the good deals for myself!
Pretty interesting place! They seem to get things that are confiscated from the nearby airport as well as used assets from local government-run facilities. New things come in all the time, and they have used police cars for sale quite cheaply as well. I subscribed to their newsletter.
Best place to buy knives in Austjn.
Very satisfied some of the best prices Ive seen especially on leathermans. The staff was all very helpful thanks victor, that guy knows his stuff. 2 thumbs up. Having to drag that around all-day must be tiring.
Had a good experience. Will be coming back.
Lots of stuff to choose from, price could be better all their stuff is used not new. Still a good place to get stuff.
Never leave without a treasure
I got a pretty sweet folding table here for $8!Great deals on confiscated wares and used furniture. More file cabinets than one could ever fathom.
Awesome deals if you know what you are looking at.
My favorite place
Prices on knives has increased but still great deals on used stuff. Saw some decent looking Chevy Tahoes, Half ton 4X4 pickups with extended cans, and Dodge Chargers. One was only 4k
Awesome...
Slim pickins in store for vehicles online auctions are a better options but cool stuff in store too
This is the place to go and buy your next ride. Great prices and the best people to help you out. I will be visiting again real soon.
Fun way to burn up the clock lots of strange items.
Crazy knife selection.
You need an affordable desk or filing cabinet try going here. Lots of pocket knives, some brand names can be found here. Lots of miscellaneous stuff from various State agencies end up here. Also they sell older State Patrol vehicles and trucks.
Bit higher than I expected but be ready to check out what you want to see if it really is a bargain. There are still good deals there but they harder to find.If you want to resale stuff good luck, want it for yourself then you can get a decent deal..
****the blue rolling carts in photos on home page****------mostly knives but also cutlery, some watches, some small toys (Hot Wheels, Happy Meal stuff, etc.) But mostly knives---butcher, Swiss Army, steak, Ginzu, paring....Most decency jewelry and watches are kept in the cases ...inside front door, go about 10feet, make a right... youll see them. They ARE attended. A lot of book cases and filing cabinets. Mostly costume jewelry. At least today that was the case. Might have better selection at different times of the month? Didnt know what to expect but it probably wont be a regular stop.
Remolded and looks super nice inside
Great spot if youre looking for office furniture, wine openers, umbrellas, random tools, random clothing and accessories, Etc...you never know what you might find that has been confiscated or lost at the airport. that is super helpful Id highly recommend treasure hunt of a store
Looked at fleet vehicles. Competitive prices. Good customer service from Victor and Britt
Was excited when I found it. They have vehicles, furniture, jewelry, knives - almost like an oversized thrift store, but kind of disappointed after going in. A lot of the stuff they had to offer was well used and some of it was in really poor shape. There were a few things that seemed like good deals, but a lot of it seemed over priced. Ultimately I didnt wind up buying anything.
I love shopping here! Found a filing cabinet and tools in perfect condition. Less than $30
If you dont know about this place you should. Great if youre looking for office furniture, pocket knifes, small tools, a car or whatever. Cheap prices.
If you have a child who is just learning to drive, I suggest you check out the old police cars available at TX Surplus. They have been driven hard but well maintained. For the price they make a great first car for a kid. They are large vehicles so if someone gets hit or hits someone, they should survive the wreck.
Cheap variety of merchandise wide assortment furniture friendly
Had a great experience first time shopper they were supper helpful
Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you need a solid old school metal file cabinet, this is the place to go. Lots of other goodies too. I picked up two tall file cabinets for $45 ( they were half off marked price ).
Interesting store. Buy an old cop car, and ancient file cabinet, random jewelry and knife all in one spot. They sell everything confiscated by the TSA or lost at Texas airports and old stuff from the state of Texas. You never know what youll find.
Fun place to go and spend money be everything here what you need home and car trucks
Great customer service. And great prices.. This is my secret pocket knife supplier.. allways stocked up on knives. Good prices too.. plenty of benchmade. And spirderco. Definitely worth checking out..
Lots of stuff to choose from, knifes, tools, vehicles. Sales personal were AWESOME. Will go back and buy more things.
It is clean & organized but the items are used, Id go back, the men in my family love it!!
From bookcases to buckknives to itty-bitty baseball bats. If you cant carry it on a plane, you can get it cheap here. Theres a warehouse full of used government furniture, from custodian-bland, to commissioner- grand. Surplus vehicles and building supplies, to boot. A fun place to browse.
Lots of good stuff love this place
Cant visit this place cuz its only open while Im working
Mostly pocket knives and tool confiscated from the airport but they also have a large supply of office equipment. You really dont know what surprises you could find here unless you go.
Got some organizers to help with kitchen clean up! Will work perfectly! Only 4 dollars to organize!
Lots of neat items to look through. Plus tons of office items.
The people working here are real friendly and its a fun dig through miscellaneous things in buckets.
I use to work for TSA and we sent all of the knives we recovered here among other items that were not allowed on passenger planes and jets. I went looking for a boneing knife and got a nice BUCK like brand new for $5.00They have stuff from every state agency in AustinThere is something for everyone.
Hey if you want to score a Good Knife CHEAP (an understatement) this is the place to go!
Used to go there a lot to get great deals and find hidden treasures. Now they find the good stuff and over price it and hiked up the prices for the junk.
A great stop for deals on surplus items as well as all the stuff that people leave, forget or have confiscated at the airports across Texas!
You never know what they will have sometimes, but always interesting.
Great discount on items
You never know what gems you will find here. Desks, tables, filing cabinets.
Lots of different items. Some very used and some in great shape. Staff is very friendly.
Never know what you might find! If you like knives, fun place to visit.
Id been looking for this place for over a year(what fun is using a gps??). From the news clips Id seen on various newscasts, my hopes were quite high for the place! Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed once I entered the store, and saw 4 long tables with containers full of basically the same things.. If youre in the market for Swiss Army knives, or random, off brand hand tools, this place is for you! They did have a few of the nicer knives etc. in glass cases by the counter, but they were so over-priced, it was laughable! I went through the back door, into the warehouse, and it was filled with every kind of desk/dresser/office chair, you could imagine. Again, nothing for me. Overall, it was kind of fun(like a garage/junk sale), but, the fun ran out quickly.
Were able to find a real gem among all of the pocket knives that were sold
Good place to check out. Kool stuff.
Bargains galore...
Interesting place, lots of stuff some really good deals, some not so much. Huge variety of things from large equipment to pocket knives, the whole place smells old, but everything is old thats why its here.
A great store to go and find cheap and quality knifes.
Great staff, whish they had more variety of items. Mostly knifes and older furniture. You do finds treasures eveey once in aa while.
Not too large inside, but with a fair variety of cheap knives in their 1-3 dollar bins. About the going rate for used name brand multitools. A lot of it is confiscated items from TSA at ABIA.
Always interesting to see what you find.
Cant say it was worth the trip. try a goodwill, you will get better results.
Small store of used items, tools primarily, however watches, sunglasses, very limited clothing at times, and an assortment of other items. PLUS, used cars/trucks and a warehouse of old state furniture and other fixtures. Some inventory is online.
My fav place
Best kept secret in Austin. Especially if youre a knife collector.
Bought a truck here, nice truck at a very very nice price.
Surplus junk. Its just junk.
Closed for inventory until September 9th, 2019. Call before you go.
Everything is easily addressable and staff is courteous and freindly.
Always enjoy the mix and their staples.
Lots of office chairs, filing cabinets, credenzas, some luggage, china, jewelry, on & on. Things confiscated from folks flying.
Large collection of abandoned/TSA prohibited items, as well as surplus office equipment and vehicles. Friendly staff.
People are nice and helpful. I didn’t find what I was looking for.
Best place to find a good pocket knife for dirt cheap!
Prices are not consistent and too high for the used items being sold. Im unsure as to their pricing criteria but many small items like tools and knives can be bought new for the same price. Furniture is randomly priced as well. Example: heavy weight solid oak desk (from the 50s) = $65,. Particle board laminated desk same size = $145. Just weird. I know you can negotiate but still is silly. All the State furniture/stuff represents sunk cost so the money is technically gone. The stuff was probably depriciated so anything sold is profit.
Great selection nick-nacks seized at the airport
