I had a very positive experience with Lone Star Floors. I had an urgent last minute need to replace my carpet with hardwoods on the 2nd floor of my house. It wasn’t a planned expense, but was necessary. My friend recently had Lone Star Floors redo her floors and was very pleased, but I wanted to check multiple companies. I made an appointment to come in to look at the options and to get an idea of his pricing, and Bill, the owner, was incredibly helpful and patient. I had a lot of questions and he was quick to make a follow up appointment to come and measure at my house. In his store he steered me in the right direction based on my price and overall needs for my house. I looked at 5 other flooring stores, and got quotes from 3. Most were much more expensive, and I figured out why: sales people making commission, and design specialists who pointed me to the exact floors that Lone Star also carried. Bill gave me the best quote and his team did a great job. They were very professional and I’d have them do any additional flooring I’d need. My floors look great and I’m very happy with them!

In 2019 when we decided to upgrade our flooring just like any other project in our house we decided to do a research for a place that has the best pricing and great customer service (which matters the most). After a dozen of places we found about Lone Star Floors via google search and decided to stop by. Went to the store and Bill welcomed us. He was very nice and answered all the questions (probably spent like an hr.). In addition he was so generous to allow us to have samples taken back home (3 days) and see what it looks like inside the house where its gonna be laid out during day/night. For the pricing and customer service this place offered it wasnt hard for us to make a final decision. Post the order placement he was very prompt on his communication about delivery and all the logistics around it. We decided to have our own installers but still he did follow up after few weeks to make sure its all done and we are happy over all along with providing us info we need to have handy for warranty etc. Since then I have referred a lot of friends of mine to this place and everyone had the same experience as we did.For folks who are out there looking for your flooring needs who are still thinking/researching and reading this I strongly recommend Lone Star Floors and can guarantee you wont regret on your decision.

I just had Lone Star Floors install hardwood and carpet in several rooms and it was a great experience. I needed to match a discontinued hardwood product in adjacent rooms and was able to find several options at Lone Star. The selection at Lone Star is very good but not over whelming. Bill directed me to a few options based on my sample of existing wood and once I narrowed my selection, I was able to take samples to compare in home. Bill came out to measure and brought carpet samples i forgot to take while at the store. Order to install timeframe was very fast. The Lone Star install crew was great. Quality work and fair pricing!

Lone Star Floors deserve 5 stars for the job they performed in our home a few weeks ago. The crew (Jose & Arturo) were timely, courteous, and very skilled in installing wood floors. Bill at Lone Star Floors was easy to work with and was able to install our floors quickly. The installed LV Plank flooring is lovely and makes me smile every time I walk on it. The installation crew was professional and personable. We could not have asked for a nicer experience.

The opposite of Nike, JUST DON’T DO IT. Bill is very rude and very short tempered. He asked me to have materials I ordered picked up by Wednesday 2/4/21. I received text messages and phone calls multiple times a day for three days even after I told Bill the plan. These messages got progressively ruder as time approached pick up day (a.k.a. Bills line in the sand) I explained that the contractor was contacting him directly to make arrangements for pick up. When my contractor didn’t show on Wednesday all hell broke out and Bill had a meltdown. At the end of it all, it was picked up early the next day and Bills stroke was avoided. If you’re looking for good customer service, or actually even just OKAY customer service, go elsewhere. I think maybe it’s time for Bill to hang it up since he seems to really dislike dealing with people, also known as customers.

We found the owner, Bill was very knowledgeable about carpets as he has been in the industry for decades. His store had the best prices and offered top notch quality and selection. Installation team led by Jose did an excellent job.

Outstanding flooring company. They are located off Jollyville, youd easily drive by without seeing their storefront but youd be missing a great company.Owner Bill is super knowledgeable about all types of flooring. In my case I wanted vinyl plank, and Bill had the widest selection of companies I saw anywhere after checking about 10 different shops that all (Lone Star Floors included) had outstanding reviews on Yelp, with 4.8 or higher stars.Ive had over a dozen floors installed in the past decade, and what matters more than anything else is the installation. You can buy your planks anywhere, but if the installers are not top notch your floor wont be either.I specifically decided to work with Bill because of his install team. The head guy on my installation was Jose who has worked for Bill for 10+ years, and I was told Jose continued in the footsteps of his dad who also used to work for Bill.Very importantly the floor was properly flattened, which involves getting on hands and knees and moving around every square inch of the area with a long level, and marking spots that are out of tolerance. Then those spots get filled with leveling compound. Not doing this leads to spongy spots in your floor that make it feel cheap.Otherwise the joints are all tight, and nicely trimmed around the difficult spaces like the free standing staircase my rental property has. I also had them install baseboard molding, and every joint there was as tight as Ive seen anyone do. Many times installers will cut corners here, Jose didnt.Obviously Im happy with the result. Excellent product, excellent install, and I think the prices are better than the other places I checked.

We had quotes from 3 local flooring companies in Austin to replace old carpet in our home. The quotes from the other companies were ridiculously high. No surprises!The installation crew was courteous throughout the process, despite my many questions. Bills teams are incredibly professional while doing beautiful work. I had all my floors replaced 13 years ago and Lone Star Floors did great work then for a fair price. I had them replace all the carpet with laminate recently and again the work was done quickly and perfectly at a fair price.

Therefore, the seal has to be sanded/ground off the floor. We would not be interested in tackling that project at this time.Thanks

Fantastic Experience from first phone call to final piece of wood being installed. Found Lone Star Floors on the web as a vendor who could get their hands on the flooring we wanted from Southern Traditions. Bill was very helpful from the beginning, and answered all my questions with no fluff or attempts to upsell in any way. I did my due diligence in comparing prices from other companies in town, and Bill was able to beat the price of all others by $2k. When it came to installation the crew was fantastic. Work area was kept clean, and all the guys were professional, and showed their diligence and work ethic to deliver quality workmanship. In the end my $6k investment added no less than $15k in value, and we could not be happier.

Lone Star Floors sold and installed hardwood floors on both levels (approx. 2,300 square feet) of our home in Lakeway. They did the best installation job that I have ever seen. It looks as if the hardwood floors were installed before the interior walls were built. There are no thresholds where the hardwood floors does not meet a different type of floor covering. You will not be disappointed with the price of the flooring or the installation.

So professional and great to work with. They stuck to their bid even when they realized the floors i ordered where actually more expensive. Love this place!

He spent much of his career on the commercial side so he has great experience and recommendations to help you make the right selection and recommendations for a very successful project. At the same time - he is not too pushy or overly opinionated (which I came across in looking for floors) so he is great to work with.His install teams did a great job. They showed up early every day and worked everyday until the job was done. My experience in remodeling is that is rare.The prices were fair if not great and we could not be happier in selecting Lonestar Floors and Bill McGavern for replacing hardwood floors upstairs and down and beautiful carpeting as well.

Bill at Lone Star Floors helped my wife and I select tile and hardwood floors for our home. Bill came out to my house and measured so we knew exactly what materials would fit our budget. I looked around for wood and tile for almost a year at several places around town and ended up finding the perfect combination in Lone Stars showroom on Jollyville Rd. Earth Werks Amazon Tile and Mannington hickory hand scraped hardwood. My house looks like a model home and I can hardly believe it. You can tell that Bill knows what he is talking about when it comes to floors and what are the best choices for the situation. We have several large dogs and 3 kids so we put tile in the entry, kitchen and breakfast area and chose a satin finished hand scraped hickory based on hardness and durability for the rest of the downstairs. I can recommend Bill and Lone Star Floors.

Terrible. I just tried calling the number listed to schedule a quote/survey and the person that answered was rude, said he wouldnt wait for someone to answer (I had him on speaker calling from our office) when I was taking him off speaker, and then he just hung up.
