If you go anywhere for a vehicle you need to go to these guys! From the min I tested the truck to the last payment they have done nothing but helped me with the whole process! They really work for you and there wasnt any pressure to purchase! The only thing is I wish they had more dealerships around! Enough can’t be said about this dealership and it’s employees. My lady and I had spent nearly a week looking for new to us vehicles and because we both came with our own set of issues when it came to getting financed and at a rate that is sustainable. Salesman usually profile potentialClients at many other Places and in the past have left me feeling disrespected . EDIT - The manager is a kind man who truly values his customers experiences. He called me this morning to apologize both for his employees not wearing masks when he wasnt around (I think he was the guy across the street who was wearing one) and for the problem with the car. He thanked me for bringing his attention to both. He said he had strongly addressed the mask problem with his employees, and that the car had just come back from their repair shop before I came in and they hadnt had a chance to see if there were still problems, but they had figured out which additional part needed to be replaced to fix the issue and were doing that. His dedication to customer service impressed me and, while I likely wont buy this particular vehicle, I would return to this business if anything else in their selection caught my eye.PROS: Nicest people at a car dealership that I have ever experienced. Wow.CONS: None of the 4-5 people I interacted with at the main part of the dealership was wearing a mask. Not inside, not outside. (I was wearing a mask.) One guy across the street was wearing a mask. I called ahead to test-drive the vehicle I was interested in. When I got there, they gave me a detailed list of repairs that they had done already and assured me that it was in fine working order except for the front tires, which they had ordered. While I was looking the car over, I tested the ignition numerous times and it would meow and cough while taking a long time to start. Taking forever to start is not fine working order - its a mechanical problem. I guess they didnt notice, or assumed the other repairs they did would fix it. Minus one star for COVID protocols, minus one star for saying a car with an ignition problem is fine.

This is my first Google Review to give positive recognition for a business, and I hope that means something to those reading. R&D motors are the used car dealers you can trust because they handle business with integrity and customer care. There is a reason they have been around 25 years. I came from Houston to purchase a car from them and they held a few days for me until I could find a ride, sold it to me at a fair price, and few days later I had minor issue with it after the purchase and they corrected it promptly! No cost to me. I am loyal to them because it is hard to find sincere and honorable business in the used car industry. If you are looking for a car do not pass them up!

Do not ever trust these guys, or come here to buy any car. They will lie straight to your face and tell you the car has been checked by their “mechanic” and it’s in perfect condition. It’s a lie!!! Over the years, Ive dealt with private buyers & sellers, high-end dealerships, and everything in between and Ive never had a better experience than I did with these folks. My husband and I found the perfect car for our teenage driver at the Lamar location and Ray, the salesman was polite, easygoing and honest. Honestly, just about any car in their inventory would fit the bill for us...they have some great rides! We picked out a very clean, low-mileage Subaru and their price was fair. We couldnt be happier. We had to finalize the transaction at the North Loop location, but again, Mike was laid back nice guy and I was in and out in half an hour. (By contrast, a big name local dealership tried to make the buying process as painful as possible once we affirmed we would not use their financing, and tried to go back on things they agreed to...very shady!) Shortly after leaving with the car, I realized I had lost my earring but didnt think it would turn up. A few hours later, Rosie called my husband because she FOUND it! If you want the real-deal good ol Austin treatment, this is your place. We will definitely be repeat buyers! Oh and our teenager LOVES her car. Thank you R&D!

These guys are great, after buying my fourth vehicle from R&D I had to tell my story. My 1st vehicle was my starter car, a cool Pontiac Gran Prix, those were the days. Times were rough, so I had to trade down. No worries, r&d had my back, got a little 4cyl that was good on gas. Ive bought 4 vehicles from R&D Motors. My Brother told me about them because he was happy with his purchase. At the time I had a little money for a downpayment.(Under $900) When I saw their inventory I thought I was out of my league. After I explained my situation to them, they worked with me from the down-payment, to minor issues they gladly resolved. (Some of which was operator level, meaning my responsibility.)The first car I bought from them I drove from Texas to Virginia to Washington State all in 1 summer. No breakdowns, no tear ups. Since then I have bought 2 more. I upgraded and I gave one to a family in need. The service is honest, the product is solid and they stick to there word. Bought a car from out of state, used Auto P. I. (also recommended) to inspect it before buying, car was fairly priced and the transaction went fine. Because of a hassle created, not by these folks, but my own state because of the title being out of state, R & D went the distance to help me, even though the sale was finished. It was time for a change. I loved my truck, but I’m getting too old to drive a manual transmission in Austin’s traffic. Saw a big comfortable luxury car at a spot called R & D Motors. Stopped in, got in, and said, “I want this.” That’s how I roll. Office manager Rosie introduced me to the owner, Rob. He came out and liked my truck, and was willing to give me a more than a fair trade. So far...so good. Very like-able, no pressure folks here. I told him what was wrong with mine, and he told me about his, and what was to be addressed before the car ever left the lot. My resistance is fading. Price of the comfortable, luxury car is reduced. I pull the buying trigger, and Ive never been happier. I even check the internet, just in case I have any “buyers remorse”. No deals even close. We got a run around about picking up the vehicle after we had put down a hefty deposit. Then we got a run around to get the air bags fixed which was supposed to be done before we took possession. When we got the vehicle, the broken drivers seat STILL hadnt been repaired. Then we got a run around getting our plates, to the point that we had to get a new temporary tag because ours expired it took so long to get them. Then the icing on the cake was when we had an issue with our credit card being hacked and we had a snafu with the insurance company updating our account with the new credit card info. R&D did their monthly check on insurance and notified us that it had been canceled, which was news to us! We called and started paperwork to fix it, but R&D had our vehicle REPOSSESSED for lack of insurance before we could get it fixed! Literally within less than 2 days of Hey your insurance lapsed to the tow truck dragging our truck away! Almost $1000 later to the tow truck company, we got it back. Dont bother dealing with these people. Unless you have thousands to throw out the window on a vehicle that never does get repaired properly.

I had never paid any attention to this car lot in the 20 years I have lived here until I need a car for my daughter who is about to start driving. Of course I needed a used car....but a safe one and a reasonably price one. I found my Volvo XC90 online and called R&D Motors right away!!!! I literally walk up and they had the car ready to go... we loved it and put a deposit down for us to test drive and check it out with our mechanic. Every person I met was so laid back and chill but super knowledgeable. I had the car check out and anything I needed fixed, including new tires and an oil change they did without question. I will definitely buy a car from them again, I highly recommend them.

This is a great place to purchase a car. Bought a BMW from here and it has been great to me. Good group of people who are easy to work with in the event of buying a car. The owner keeps a good inventory of BMWs and Mercedes. Also sales staff is very polite.

I wanted to trade in my 2012 truck for an older SUV and I shopped around a lot before stumbling upon R&D Motors. R&D had exactly what I wanted, a Z71 Tahoe, and they gave me a great trade-in price on my truck. The Tahoe had some problems but they fixed everything before they sold it to me. I was originally nervous about downgrading vehicles for reliability issues, but the whole staff was extremely helpful and they got the Tahoe in excellent condition before selling it. It was a great transaction, and I am very happy with the purchase, especially in hindsight.

Bought a car from this place and was told that everything that i said was wrong with it would be fixed. Over time i tried to bring my car in for repair but couldnt because they never had the loaner car. Then when they did get the loaner car back months later it couldnt be used because it had problems. Then i was informed that they no longer do repairs and i had to end up paying about 3k to get the car fixed ( which i refused to do after 3 months of owning the car) and after it wasnt even inspected by there dealership. Gave the car back to get out of the horrible car deal. Dont do business with them and if you do be careful. BMW broke down after 3 months of driving it and they did not honor the fact they said they would fix all the problems ( to many to list) This place sucks very badly!!!!

Very helpful staff and the owner of this business takes good care of his clients. Would highly recommend this dealership to any person looking to purchase a car. Also the finance department is friendly and works with you on payment terms.

R&D Motors has been come part of my family. they are really super! when I bought my car Rob worked with me so I could get a payment I could afford. He gave me the best advise about my car. when I went to get a car I had another car in mind that I saw on their website. And Rob told that was not the car for me, he explain to me why and told me I promise I will place you in the right car if it is not I will give you your money back. so how many dealships would do that. I am very pleased and happy with my car and I would glad go to them and recommand them to anyone. They are the best.

I tried to reason, I thought She was Innocent, and maby didnt know. So I kindly drove the car all the way down there for her, Over N hour drive for us. Driven by a reference. But got stalled because there was a Lie, somewhere, I wanted to show her face to Face, without alarm and I thought for shure she would be hurt as I was but Then she Evades my concerns, and ignores my plea, ok but she says shell fix it all. I investigates the other vehicles in the lot after not wanting to get blunt with them, After she she calls me back and asked me to lie. I attempted to work on a trade back but even tho they were experian clear, one owner, same situations, My PI found them wrecked too.. So they get no deal from me. Taking advantage of us, was the last thing I thought would happen. Honesty is not what I found here. Just the opposite of all the reviews..
