Getting an alarm system today can be an overwhelming experience. My new smart home is smarter than I am. With all the devices running, apps, different settings etc I was overwhelmed. Jeff personally set up the contacts, doorbell camera, thermostat, light switches and carefully explained everything patiently. ADT will only do a 3 year contract. I dont do 3 year contracts! Jeff has no service contract period! Same monitor service as ADT uses. Very reasonable installation charges and personalized service with no contracts! Thats what I was looking for and what I got! We moved in to the Dripping Springs area and needed an alarm system with cameras, as well as a monitoring service. It was so great to find Jeff and All Star. This is a locally owned and operated small business, Jeff and his team were extremely capable, courteous and competent from consultation to installation to showing us how to get the most out of our system. The best thing was this level of service was actually less than than the larger security company reps. I wasnt told one price, and writing a check for a whole lot more at the end of the install (been there, done that). All in all, honest pricing, no nonsense advice, and quality work by someone who cares about what they do. Highly recommended.

This review is long overdue. Being a paranoid new homeowner in 2015, we did lots of research for a reliable, accountable and local home security system for our first home. We came to know about All Star Security as most of our neighbors had them and we got lots of good feedback. And it was also the cheapest and with no contract.Our personal experience with Jeff and his staff has been awesome. Jeff visited our home and made us understand how the system works. This convinced us to go with All Star Security. Jeff was very upfront about the initial cost and installation was quick. The system was throughly checked and explained before the technician left our home. The system had worked perfectly all these years and we even inadvertently tested it few times. Jeff is responsible, courteous and always answers our calls/messages which is the main reason for going with a local company. When our carbon monoxide detector unit quit working, Jeff was at our home the next day and fixed it.Overall, we couldn’t be more satisfied with Jeff and his company. It has been a great experience and I highly recommend him. Certainly deserves All Stars !!

Excellent customer support. The backup battery in my system died, and Jeff helped facilitate getting a new battery with the proper wire connections. Communicated through phone and text message, easy peasy. Good stuff.

We recently moved to a new house. We contacted Jeff at All Star Security to come out to review and advise on our current system. He was very timely in responded and coming out. We switched over to All Star Security in January, 2020. The initial installation had some technical difficulties due to the previous system. Jeff stayed late into the night trying to get things to a 100%. The next day Taylor came out as promised and he was able to get the final piece up and running. Our home was never not secured. We are pleased with our system and would recommend it to everyone. All Star Security was able to use most of all our equipment and the monthly cost is three times lower that what we had been paying for years. Jeff, Taylor and monitoring dispatch service are always helpful and easy to get in touch with.

Tommy did a good job in installing the security system. The motion detector was not working properly for some reason it was giving false alarms, Jeff helped in replacing the motion detector. Communication thru texts was great. Thanks Tommy & Jeff!

The sensors went out in less than a week. One tech left my window wide open. I got a call today about starting to pay for my service when the entire “security system” has to work on bypassed sensors for weeks.

Jeff has been very responsive when I have had an issue. Just a few days ago I had a problem as I was not arming my security system and forgot my access codes. Jeff walked me through the keypad steps to input a new access code and delete all other codes. He was fast and very efficient. I would not use any other company in the Austin area other than All Star - its GREAT!!!

My house lost power yesterday and my alarm system, which I don’t use and don’t have any service connected to right now, was automatically arming itself every time I turned the breaker back on. I don’t know the password and could not disarm it, so I had to leave the breaker turned off. Small problem, but my WiFi was connected to the same breaker, and I work from home. So a small issue turned into a bigger one. I called Jeff right at 8am this morning looking to see if he could come out, and after listening to my situation And realizing I don’t use the system at all, he gave me Instruction on how to power off the system only so the breaker could be flipped back on. He did this free of charge and not only saved me money, but also saved a morning full of chaos at work due to no internet. I cannot recommend Jeff and All Star Security Highly enough and will be calling them back as soon as I am in need of any home security services. Thank you!!

We had our windows washed and one window we didn’t realize was not properly closed and locked.On a cold night the window contracted a bit and alarm went off as it should awakening us. All Star called immediately and we asked that police be called to check the grounds which was done promptly. In the meantime we checked all windows and found the improperly closed one and locked.Alarm was then rearmed.All systems worked properly and Jeff called the next morning to ask if we needed any further assistance.We were reassured that the security system had worked as it should and with the service we received.

My new home had some of the security equipment already installed. After a few days of moving in, Jeff stopped by and explained the options. I felt free as there was no pressure to sign up. After doing some research and comparing the company with others, I called Jeff and scheduled an appointment for the installation. The paper work was done through email. We had to do the paper work twice as there was some misunderstanding about the extra sensors and camera to be installed, but after that everything went very smoothly. Jeff came to do the installation and in about 30 minutes everything was installed. He walked me through the system which is very easy to operate. He was very professional. The monthly rate is lower than other companies and service is great. The equipment works very well. I have had the service for about a month and I havent had any false alarms. I recommend all star security to everyone. Hassle free and Great service.

This is not the case with Austin All Star Security as you deal directly with the owner. Jeff the owner, is very friendly and has made unscheduled house calls for my benefit. We are a technology company, and we require professionalism, knowledge and prompt service. For two years we are using Jeff and his company for our monitoring and security needs. Theres not one single txt message not answered, not one call has not been answered or returned. Not one feature I asked on the systems left unprovided. With the latest upgrade Im able to use alarm-com and it was well worth to upgrade, I asked him to do a garage door monitoring, BOOM.. Now I know if my garage is opened as well as my doors.. Jeff never re-scheduled his appointment, he always showed up right on time, never blamed on weather, never blamed on 3rd party installer not making the install due to sick wifes and kids like the other security companies I have experienced at the past..If youre still reading this, youre just wasting time. All Star Security installed and services our security system. Jeff Alexander is very responsive and knowledgeable. The installation was done promptly and I feel like the product, service and price were excellent. Weve had to call for one for one minor service matter (user error) and Jeff handled it within 24 hours even though it was Christmas Eve.....try getting that kind of service from ADT or Time Warner. My wife and I moved to the Austin area from Wisconsin, where security systems arent installed as standard equipment in most homes. So we initially didnt think to purchase monitoring services, but after receiving a flyer for All-Star Security, I had a look at the website and was intrigued by how reasonably priced it could be.A day later Jeff came over to the house to explain his offerings, which he did in a friendly and professional manner. With the functionality you receive at All-Stars rates, it was a no-brainer. What was scheduled as a consultation turned into an installation/activation, and we were armed and secure prior to going to bed.Jeff and All-Star security are legit. Having purchased the expandable system, were definitely going to give him a call soon to have him wire a video camera for the front door.Go local with All-Star Security.UPDATE: Ive been meaning to update this review for a couple months. Finally getting around to it. The first or second weekend after Jeff installed it, we received an alarm from our motion sensor, which turned out to be a false alarm. He promptly came out to have a look and adjust the sensitivity. Three false alarms later, Jeff determined the motion sensor provided by our builder was faulty and offered us a brand one (a model he trusts) free of charge. No false alarms since he swapped them out. A sixth star is in order for Jeff and All Star Security.

The other places I called tried to get me to buy over the phone without even coming out to my house and the ones that did come out in person tried to sell me additional products that I did not need. Jeff installed our system a couple of years ago. When our doorbell died, I had him back to install a doorbell to go with the functionality of our system. This system is amazing. No wondering who was at the door, or when packages arrive etc. Also allows me to add/remove users with codes of their choice when needed -- think housekeeper, pet care, trusted neighbors. Recently, the living room motion sensor was giving low battery notifications that I ignored until today when the panel was beeping 3 times every minute or so. Called Jeff (and I always get him when I call) thinking I needed service. He was more than happy to come help me but suggested that I try to change the batteries on my own -- gave the name of what to search on youtube and told me it could be tricky. I was able to do it -- but it would have been a nightmare without the youtube video. Jeff is always available to assist but isnt out to take advantage of you. Monthly rates are less than most other groups too. Great local service, reasonable service and no rip off.

We chose All Star based on reviews and glad we did. Unlike other companies, theres no hard selling, and the Jeff is the owner/operator of the company (so youre not dealing with some sales guy whos only motivation is the commission and probably wont be with the company the following week!) and he lives locally.There are just a couple of systems to choose from and no complexly priced options to figure out. And unlike many alarm installation companies, these systems are compatible with an existing hard wired house, so are much more discreet than the wireless contact alternative.We opted for the cell-phone based monitoring system (so cutting cable or phone wires coming into the house will have no effect) which works well; it frequently pings the system to confirm connectivity.Installation was scheduled quickly after we signed up (contract monitoring, as is usual) and the installer arrived when promised. Because of less that great wiring by the builder, the install took longer than usual but the installer was courteous and conscientious.I also forgot to mention an Angieslist coupon when we signed up, but Jeff still honored it which was very professional of him. We would definitely recommend All Star to anyone in the Austin and surrounding area.

Jeff didnt seem like a bad guy but I am currently learning the hard (and expensive) way about auto-renew policy for the company Jeff set me up with. Despite paying three years in advance, the company Jeff associates with, Central Security Group, is still continuing to charge me for many months I am not living in my home. This was due to auto-renewing my contract for a full year while I was out of the country. Read their reviews, terrible issues for this very reason. I emailed Jeff about this, but he just pointed the finger back at them. Unfortunately, I am a strong believer in guilty by association.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Jeff and All Star Security. My HOA-paid coverage ceased and I simply opted to keep the current monitoring service and had a confirmed reactivation date set. I was quite angry to find out that my appointment came and went with no phone call. I called the company and learned my appointment had been canceled (internally by mistake) but was never given a courtesy call to alert me or find out if something was wrong. I googled Austin companies and came across All Star Security. I immediately had a good feeling from reading the reviews and Jeffs bio, so I called. After personally meeting Jeff, I knew I had made the right decision. He was courteous and professional and offered the right product for my needs. He did not pitch any unnecessary products outside of my stated goal for the system; however, I know where to go for any upgrade options. I highly recommend All Star Security and will continue giving out his information to everyone who asks about security systems and which company I think is most trustworthy.

During a remodel my system was degraded when a sensor was lost. I contacted all star to get a replacement part and after a few days they got back to me and let me know theyd let me know the price. That was almost a week ago. So my house has been without a security system for more than a week and they couldnt care less. Do yourself a favor and go with a professional company.

I needed my system installed before my lady started college again, and there being no one home after that, with me working all the time...Jeff came himself to take care of me..personally... and so fare i have no complaints...lol Great service. I read a lot of reviews and spoke to several security companies before selecting Allstar to replace my existing system. I initially decided to go with a different company but at the last minute I called Allstar. I spoke to Jeff who was very patient will all of my questions. In fact, I called him a few times before deciding to hire them. He never ONCE tried to up-sale me on anything which I appreciated. Later, Alexis came to our house to go over the contract and installation. She also was very professional, very informative with zero up-sale. On the day of the installation, Marcus the installer, was on time, very friendly and he really new the product well. He installed the entire system and answered all of my questions in just a little over an hour.Allstars customer service is first class. As mentioned above, I called Jeff several times. I later found out that he was out of the country on vacation. Every time I spoke to him he never once told me he was on vacation or that he wasnt on the clock. We have home security from AllStar security and it has been a piece of mind ever since.Jeff and Alexis are both professional and best at what they do.Allstar is a local vendor which was very important to me. Other out-of-town vendors were both expensive and impersonal.First these out-of-town vendors wanted to lock me in a multi-year contract and their monthly charges were much higher than Jeffs.Besides, they wanted to give me instructions over the phone to install the monitoring unit they ship - something with which I was not comfortable.Thats where Jeff and Alexis came in very handy. Jeff visited our home personally, was able to consult and advise me quickly on how many and what kind of sensors would work best for the floor plan of my house.He installed the system for us, configured and made it happen in just couple hours.I would definitely recommend Allstar Security over any out of town vendor you will never meet.Our family feels safe and secure with this new system protecting us! The use a remote call system anyone can use but th up sell you to make you think you have a secure home or buisness I found out after mine was broken into . Terrible product and customer service .
