Goodwill is a nice place to bargain shop. Several earlier reviws of locations in South Central Austin combined with the visit at this location confirm the Patron is Valued, the Goods being sold have been Quality Assured and showcases Goodwills efforts Not to Warehouse & Stockpile merchandise.Too, some bargaining—within reason—is welcome but will absolutely require Management level Staff approval.Interestingly, Ive noticed merchandise brands and styles vary with the section of town the store is located and the ease donors experience with drop off donations.All said, the Quality of merchandise Does Not vary with geographic location. All that makes it to a locations showroom for sale is usable.I like the fact Goodwill Does Not Discriminate In Any Way, Not Even subtly, Not Even Under-The-Table Or In Any Sideways Manner so as to mask.The quality of whats available to us does not change.ThanX Goodwill for All you do and for the Staff that ARE Goodwill.Peace ✌️Brian Bruce

Shame on you Goodwill pre-pandemic your prices were reasonable and doable however after everyone on this planet went through this pandemic everyones trying to play catch-up I get that. But shame on you Goodwill really a candle that is half burnt with no Wick for 499???I mean REALLY!!! Not for grandma anymore...😷😠

I’m not usually one to leave reviews but honestly, the prices on things (especially clothing) at this location are ridiculous. Way more than other goodwills around town. What a shame.

Horrible customer service! Cashiers didn’t acknowledge the customers to apologize for the inconvenience. Rude, slow, and unprofessional workers. Instead of apologizing for slow service the lady handling the front (Meredith) rudely runs her mouth very loud and clear that she didn’t care that customers were upset and that we can complain all we want! Clearly, she doesn’t like her job and has no care about the customers. I was very uncomfortable and she knew what she was saying and doing! Even when I called as soon as I left the store to get manager and corporate info to report what she did, she still had an attitude and proudly stated she was the one who was in the front! I called to report to manager and corporate! They handled it in a professional matter. I wasn’t the only upset customer today as I can see there was another 1 star review right after I left the store!

This location is very spacious and has a wide selection. You should be able to find something here.I only wish the dresses were a little more organized.

Id give this goodwill zero stars if that was an option. The prices are way to high for the quality of clothing, dresses are 12.99, few being 9.99 and plenty had stains and holes. Tank tops base priced at 6.99 and up, short and long sleeve shirts base priced at 7.99-9.99 and even 12.99 Save yourself a trip and skip this one. Also I know they will likely respond with the generic we take brand names into consideration when pricing which is not an excuse to price donated items so high. This is a thrift shop and it seems the manager here has forgotten that the main objective is to be affordable to people who cannot afford to shop at regular retail stores.. and to be ahem.. THRIFTY.

Update: The reply by the employee is typical corporate nonsense and a lame attempt to virtue signal instead of addressing the issue. Lost another star from me for that. I think thrift store shopping/browsing can be really fun. The price structure here at Goodwill is 300%+ beyond what is reasonable. Its not that Im finding great merchandise at slightly inflated prices - its much worse. Its the same old donated stuff youd expect to poke through at a thrift store, but priced as if each and every item was a boutique store treasure. Goodwill used to be a thrift store, but thats just no longer the case. The prices have been creeping up for years, but my recent visit was surprising because of the HILARIOUS markups. Goodwill is THE place to buy used, broken candles for $5.99 (and up). The rest? Used, often broken leftovers (this is fine) at equal or higher prices than whatever they sold for when new (this is not okay).This Goodwill is trying to take advantage of those unaware.Original review: Man... Always good to me, but they experience a good bit of turnover so its like meeting the in-laws all over again every year or so.

For some reason, the prices at this Goodwill are way higher than other ones. Also, I saw a really rude interaction between a manager and an employee where the manager was berating the employee for not being able to close, when the reason she couldn’t close was for not having childcare coverage at those times. Not cool to be blaming your employee for something out of her control, and also not cool to be having that delicate discussion in front of others.

Dirty nasty & unorganized OUTRAGEOUS PRICES on used junk they get for free. Insulting actually as they get almost everything in there for FREE!People who donate are generous Goodwill is GREEDY. I have 50 years experience in art, antiques, jewelry and more, I know prices... go look for yourself, you might find an occasional item worth the price BUT most of the time the stuff is dirty and creepy, Ive seen used personal hygiene items their including used medical items, this is totally unacceptable and the health department should be notified by everyone who sees used medical equipment, underwear, toothbrushes and some such items - YIKES!!!!!Not a fan! Goodwill is not a charity anything!

While selection is sometimes sparse, prices during the pandemic are nice and the amount of electronics, shirts toys and etc. is really nice and its a pretty big Goodwill.

5.18.21 Store layout looks excellent this morning I asked who did it and Verna says she is the one who laid out the sports section.Today it is sharp and shiny, nice and neat so good work to all our workers today.

Definitely an overpriced GW with a mixed bag of employees. Some employees are kind and others are grumpy but hey... that’s GW for ya.It’s a clean GW but really why would you sell a candle that barely has anything left or a dress for over double the price tag?

Very clean, decorated so nice. Was looking at animal (pet) cages and saw two awesome, caring guys shopping and they saw I had bought the last one there and I could tell they really care about their pets so told them I already had other cages at home, and they should take the complete one I had chosen and they were very thankful. God bless guys and enjoy watching your pups enjoy being outside. So nice to find kind people out there. Thanks Goodwill, and by the way you have the cleanest, and best organized and friendliest employees I have ever seen!

Went browsing, and found 2 great books. Left 3 books there that I should probably ask them to hold for me. Great selection of tech books, and I.T. hardware too. Going back soon to check for new selection. G-Man approved!

Overpriced women’s clothes. Most women’s shirts were $6.99 but most men’s shirts were $3.99.

Upside: Very clean store, well organized and employees are friendly.Downside: Management could use training in public relations, They are the highest priced Goodwill in the Austin & surrounding area. Pricing is inconsistent (actual examples of all):2 wine glasses that are hand painted identical & signed. Priced as each with 1 glass priced 1.00 more than the other. Ask the cashier if the higher price glass can be lowered to price the other. Mngr. steps in and says no they price in the back and she cant change it. I said theyre the exact same thing...she comes and looks at tag and says thats the difference this 1 came in 2 days ago and this 1 came in yesterday. I said back to her that its most likely they came in the same day as a set, got seperated in the back and priced a day apart. In that case cant you adjust the price. She said no. I then picked up another item and said maybe you can help me eith this, I showed her where they had it priced for 2.00 more than it cost new retail (all tags attached) nope she couldnt do anything about it.This manager is being less than honest with level of management authorization given to her or if she is restricted on what she can do then she is the only manager in the Austin area that cant make a management decision.*Bottom line...finding a good deal at this Goodwill is a hit or miss.Management not very helpful

Stopped in to mainly look at clothes and books. The books had random price tags even though they were all 3.99 for the hardbacks which is pretty high. The mens clothing was not organized the best and it was not always obvious where the different sizes were. There were also some mens items like shoes, belts and hats that were in the womens section with no signs indicating this. Overall things were significantly overpriced with a few good deals. The employees were helpful.

I feel that they are selling whole items more there then anything else. Not really the appeal of Goodwill. Also, they have more area, but dont use it the way one might like.

For a thrift store, this location is relatively clean, and usually well stocked. They have a good space, so it doesnt feel like youre struggling to walk through the place.I miss how they would actually try to organize the books. It made things work so well. In fact, I wish more locations kept up with it. Even if it takes time and effort, its time well spent.

☆☆☆UPDATE TO PREVIOUS RATING☆☆☆I must have been in a hurry when I submitted my rating about 8 months ago because for one, I meant to give them 5 stars, not 4, and secondly, I didnt include a review or feedback of any kind. Having said that, Ill provide a little now as this location definitely deserves the praise. This is a very large Goodwill w/adequate staffing. Ive never had a problem getting in a dressing room when Im ready to try something on, which is a plus, & the check out lines have never been backed up like they are @ some of the other locations in the Austin area. At least not the times Ive wanted to make a purchase. I dread stepping foot inside the door b/c I know Ill be stuck inside for a REALLY LONG TIME, (much longer than I anticipated), & end up finding WAY MORE than I needed to. I usually try to arrive later in the evening for 2 reasons. Ill be FORCED to leave due to the store closing, & b/c if I make it 1 of my 1st stops of the day, I wont get my other tasks/errands done/accomplished. ;-) Keep up the great work, Goodwill @ Lake Creek!One last thing in regards to another shoppers review. I think the book area may be a tough area to keep organized. Youd almost need someone to be in charge of just that area alone because customers are bad about putting things back where they came from. (I have a degree in fashion merchandising & have worked my fair share of retail jobs so Ive experienced this 1st hand.) Its also possible you ironically visited the area immediately after it was put in a disarray by another shopper, shoppers, kids or children. Who knows. Just my 2 cents. In no way am I tying to be rude or ugly so I hope my comment isnt taken that way.

Clean and neat with friendly staff. The store is much bigger than any of the others. A lot of merchandise flows through this store. Im always finding neat items from kitchen utensils to pots and pans, to kids clothes and ladies purses. Before making a purchase make sure you understand their return policy.

This is one of the most welcoming stores Ive ever been in. To say that Goodwill is just a name is akin to saying saying that the race of mankind is just another animal. There is clearly a family growing closer everyday; by making every donor, customer, and employee feel part of the greater part of the whole that is affecting change. I can gladly say that I will continue to be a part of this mission in perpetuity. I encourage and charge anyone willing to do so to take up the torch and run the race yhat this family is running. I am a bookseller and I go to more than 25 goodwills every week and in all stores, there is a sign saying that the hardback books are 3.99 and paperback books are 1.99. I used to get books at this price in this store as well but yesterday when I went to the register, the cashier Lori told me that every book is priced differently and started to price books at $9.99! This is a thrift store and no one would get a book that is priced this expensively but even if this is what they are going to price the books, they should put the price of the book on the label so that everyone would know the price before they get to the register. It is very odd that every single item in the store has its price on the label except for the books. When I asked her to get a manager because this is not right, she claimed that she is the manager and that the prices are not going to change. I got very upset and left all 32 of the books that I got. I have wasted an hour and 45 mins in the store! I hope this complaint will be considered and the books will start to be labeled with prices so that no one would waste their time like I did.

Good price

Just kinda high for a Goodwill.

Not a bad GW, but they put STAPLES in the shirts, which has resulted in me eventually having to throw away at least 5 different t-shirts (despite the fact they were otherwise good shirts)... this issue is easily remedied and has been brought to the attention of the staff on numerous occasions, yet they are reluctant to make a simple change... avoid!

Quick and easy

The selection is awesome and staff are willing to talk with you, went in wanting overalls but still walked out with four pairs of pants. This is unlike any other goodwill, has lots of cleaning and gardening products as well, so far Ive been a reaccurring customer with nothing but good things to say.

This location is pretty interesting, they play advertisements in between songs on a loop so its difficult to stay long but still a good store

Nothing like seeing two people making out on the side of the building of an overly priced GOOD WILL store while driving your kids to school. I prefer to take my donations to Salvation Army a block away they actually help those in need instead of selling something you can got to Target new for atvthe same cost.

Ive been to this location several times and never have found anything really good. Of course, they hold all the great items for auction. While the women have an awesome assortment to shop in, the mens clothing is severely lacking.

Always has carts inside, is more of the boutique style.

The people who work there are always so nice, and very willing to help. The store is huge and well organized, not to mention how clean it is. I would recommend people shop there.

I usually love Goodwill, however, I went for a suitcase & the cheapest one was $29.99 which was the cheapest. But I went to Savers & found a few for as little as $12.99.

Its well organized and clean for a goodwill. Also I normally hate employees interacting with me when I shop, but there is a really nice guy that works there that makes it his business to positively interact with every customer. Didnt catch his name but he enthusiastically tyed to help.me the last 2 times I went.

Out of all the Goodwill stores I have been to, this one is the cleanest, has better quality clothes, and is a much bigger store.

Actually the nicest Goodwill Ive ever been to. Always seems clean and reasonably organized, and its huge so theres always a good selection of stuff to poke through.

You really have to search for a good deal. The prices are outrageous! 20.00 for a pair of wore out shoes, ridiculous. 8.00 for most of the shirts, pretty laughable. Best deal is on hardback books, 4.00.

It has the most coolest things that no one can find anywhere for the lowest prices. I recamend others to go there and check it out themselves.😉✌️👍👍✊

A large store, used to be an HEB . Well lit, employees helpful, books could stand some organization by a former librarian with OCD. :-) Often find new items at reasonable prices. Overall, a good thrift store experience.

Ive been to this Goodwill several times, and although its fairly large, I never am able to find much here. Either items are too expensive, or they just arent very good.That being said, I dont usually shop here for clothes. Im always looking for home type items. Just a meh in my book.
