Consistently the best tacos, and also at the best price ($2.29 per last I went). My favorite is the chorizo but all of them are great.

Absolutely the best carne asada torta around! Also they have a vendor inside who sells mango sorbets which are delicious! The area is not the best but its worth the trip. Many locals call this prison taco because of its proximity to the Atlanta penitentiary, where AL Capone and many other infamous notables paid visits to over the years. Its basically a small store which specializes in Latin foods and the restaurant is a small carniceria in the back.It stays busy because of the selection of products and the chow is delicious.Highly recommend!

The secret gem that’s not so secret anymore. Delicious and authentic flavors. I usually get the tacos but I recently opted for their breakfast burrito. It was the size of my thigh! Delicious too. Don’t try calling ahead or specializing your order- you get what you get and it’s going to be good!

Tacos are decent, but will not return - this place is infested with German cockroaches. So infested that the roaches will crawl around in the light, along the floors, and under the tables near your feet - I also saw some on the kitchen prep area near the food and tortillas. Disgusting.

Had to check out this place as it has some very good reviews here on Yelp and Google. Have to save I agree. I had 3 simple asada tacos and they were very good. I really like the slight crispyness to the meat. The seasoning was was spot on. If you are on the south side and looking for a great taco, this is your location.

We’ve eaten here since before it was well known and the tacos were only a little over a dollar. The guy behind the meat counter has often ignored us and had a general bad attitude, but others were pleasant and helpful, so we’ve continued to visit for tacos or some of the other prepared meals. However, that sauce stand is terrible and the last straw was seeing a live roach crawling near it. No sir.

Theres a more than a few gems like this around the city and OTP but for some reason EP#14 has always been my go to. The usual taqueria/carniceria behind a mercado set up, but with super friendly staff and a generally comfortable vibe in the place. Just wish they had lengua available all the time, other than that, its ALL great food. Go get a damn taco.

You guys never answer the phone ever. Ive called your store on multiple occasions and you guys never ever answer the phone. I have to call at least 10 times maybe even 20 to ask one question. Id rather ask to make sure you have an item in stock before driving all the way there. None of your stores are close to my home. Can yall please at LEAST have the courtesy to have someone answer your phone during your covid business hours promptly?

Another great authentic Mexican Taco stand. Its inside a supermarket all the way in the back. The cashier spoke English, in case you dont think you can order in Spanish. Highly recommended. They are clearly loved in this neighborhood. There was no line when we arrived, but there was a fast moving line the whole time we ate.

Unpretentious food made with love. This is the perfect spot to grab tacos or the odd produce item for nights when cooking just isn’t gonna happen. Lovingly dubbed “Prison Tacos” for its proximity to the penitentiary, you really won’t be disappointed by the food at El Progresso.

For the longest time, we just referred to El Progreso as Prison Tacos since they are so close to the prison, but if you havent been there, this is a must. Hands down, these are the BEST tacos in all of Atlanta, this a claim I dont make lightly. Most places charge double what they do, but are half the quality. El Progreso consistently satisfies the tummy and the wallet. They get super busy during the lunch rush, so be patient and polite. The employees work very hard, and it shows

After being told time and time again that I need to try the prison tacos I finally made the trip to El progreso. Tucked in the back of the supermarket, the restaurant has hands down some of the best authentic simple no-frills tacos. The meat is unbelievably fresh and the tacos are stuffed. With a little lime and salsa, they were in my top 5 tacos of all time. I got the barbacoa and carnitas :)

Hispanic grocery store. This store carries the standard grocery store type items. In the back of the store they have a very nice fresh meats counter/butcher with a large selection of various cuts of meat, poultry as well as large shrimp - veined and de-veined, etc. There is also a decent fresh vegetables aisle with cabbage, lettuce, apples, various onions and peppers, etc. They also have restaurant counter where you can order a large selection of Mexican food which I say is more traditional than the standard fast food chains.Clean store and the employees are very friendly. I do not speak Spanish yet every time I visit the store the person at the register always speaks perfectly good English. Again, very nice people at this place 34. They also accept EBT or food stamps as well as major credit cards.

Went to grab tacos and watched the cook go to the meat case and get meat, then throw it on the grill. They then proceeded to dress the tacos with veggies without ever washing the meat from their hands. I walked out after seeing that. Not to mention the music is blaring when you walk in. They need a visit from the health inspector.
