Well, I have been going there since I needed a CD drive for my 3 year old daughter to do some sort of educational software. That daughter is now a statistician teaching data science. I have had no reason to go elsewhere. Their parts are reasonably priced and and more importantly backed up by decades of experience. Service is spectacular. They have not changed personnel in all that time! .

Good for parts. Saves the drive to Duluth or Marietta.

Very professional service. They were able to order the replacement part for my computer within a week and fix it in about an hour after the part came in. I would go here again for future computer repair.

I’ve visited GIM computers for repairs on multiple items on multiple occasions. They do great work! The price of repair is stellar, they texted me when my items were done and they gave me the most candid info on why my items didn’t work and how to keep them in top shape.I went to 3 other companies before this one and had still had persistent issues with my equipment, hence my need for another repair shop. I’m thrilled with the results they were able to get me and plan to go to i other repair shop in the future.I’m a graduate student at SCAD Atlanta, here from Michigan. I recently bought a used desktop for work purposes. I only had it for 3 days and the owner refused to accept the return. 215.00 for just a used upgraded desktop without mouse and monitor is a bit much. He really didnt seem empathetic on the crucial reason for my purchase which is unfortunate.

Don’t buy used laptop from this shack. I bought a used 2015 MacBook Pro. Spent $560! The cd/dvd drive was broken. Brought it back they fixed. Then got a cancel sign. Took it back about 2 days left on there *10 day warranty* for equipment. I got it back then it happen again. This time it will let me sign in then the cancel sign will pop up or I can log in but if I turn it off then it will slap me with cancel sign mean software couldn’t be found. So I took it back an explained that my warranty is expired but I’ve been having issues since day one. The lady didn’t want to here it. She told me with to bad so sad “we get it from a 2nd party...ending with we can fix it but you going to have to pay” she didn’t even ask for my paper or ask the guy who worked on it the other times. Thanks

Previously had an amazing experience there. but unfortunately did not test the device calibration in enough detail before I put it up as a backup for nearly a year..I then discovered the calibration was off on the new screen I was told I need a warranty lesson and that if I was unhappy I can always take it to Apple where I can get warranty for the rest of the life and then hung up on.nice response sir. However didnt ask for anything for free you apparently had a really bad day. If theres one thing I dont understand is when customer service goes from awesome to what you offered today. Havent been yelled at over the phone in a while. again wont go back. Dont recommend anybody to go there. Hope you have better days and a brighter future.

Im a professional software developer and very knowledgeable about hardware as well. Ive been going to GIM since 2000--thats 18 years--because Ive always gotten excellent service and support. Most basic needs I can handle myself, but once I hit my own limit on a repair I take it to them. They seem to be able to handle any hardware problem. My current computer that they build in 2008 has been functioning great until the motherboard finally quit. 10 years is well past the expected lifespan, so thats not surprising. Theyre replacing the necessary components and saving me money over a whole new computer. Ive bought many 1-2 year old off-lease used computers for small server projects over the years and had a great experience with them too.

To this day I have been doing GOOD business with them. Gim, the owner has been knowledgeable every time about my different scenarios. Mrs. Gim, so kind as well. Please dont try and run game on her. The Laptop touchscreen was cracked, they replaced it and it works great. They were very knowledgeable and took care in fixing the laptop. The price was very reasonable.

I recently had an issue where my motherboard shorted, and somehow wasnt detecting front or back inputs from USB, network, etc. Since the board could boot to bios I was, at the time, positive it was a software issue, but because of my unique circumstances, I was unable to test my theory with my USB keyboard and mouse. I figured I could use a ps/2 keyboard to bypass needing USB. Out of 5 places I called, this was the first and only place that had one. (Hell, GIM was the only place that didnt ask me why I wanted a keyboard for a PlayStation 2!)Their price was incredibly fair for older tech, and the gentleman that helped me was knowledgeable and did what he could to inform me what could be the issue. This all happened during the current COVID-19 pandemic, so I was also impressed with the measures they used to make it a sanitary transaction. That is honestly why this is 4 stars instead of 3 - the way the gentleman handled himself gave me a feeling of comfort that he was taking such measures with his merch and health.Still, the customer service was kinda awkward at certain points during the whole interaction. When I called and explained the situation and what I needed, the gentleman who answered me was a bit condescending considering what I asked for (it was nice not to think it was a PS2 peripheral, though). The gentleman that helped me was nicer but still had some sharpness to his voice and attitude. Im not sure if this was the same gentleman or anything, but its obvious something was bothering him.Overall, though, decent experience. Will go again, and if the customer service improves upon second visit, I will add an addendum

They were kind and knowledgeable. I didnt have to pay a lot for the repair of my laptop. We spilled water on it and thought it needed some parts replaced. Hallalujah, they were able to resurrect it by just drying it out!

Yesterday my computer stopped charging, so I took it to a few computer repair places. I was at a different store, and managed to get my computer turned on with a different charger. Long story short, I left the first store and went to Gims. When I arrived there, he briefly told me that my computer was broken and it wasnt the charger. He didnt do much to confirm this, but assured me the computer was the issue. He offered to repair my computer for around $100, but I know that the issue wasnt with my computer.I do not advise that you go here if you dont know much about computers. It seemed to me that he was just trying to rip me off.

Purchased laptop on Feb 18 with 15 day warranty. March 2 called owner to ask why battery would not hold charge for more than 30 or 40 minutes without being plugged in. His response was that if I was so worried about battery then I should have asked my question before I purchased. He refused to honor warranty in any manner. I was not asking for refund or return, just a good battery. His response was to go buy one. In one year I purchased 2 laptops and one desk top but never again. Warranty is worthless and he makes up the rules as he goes. Nice as can be when you are spending money but come back with a problem and it is just the opposite. BEWARE

I have purchased a MacBook and a lenovo laptop from GIM. I had absolutely no issues with either despite them being old computers.GIM is very knowledgeable and always had what I’m looking for when I go in. I plan on having him take an ssd out of one of my computers into another and buy a battery.

My laptop wasn’t turning on. I went to Walmart and Office Depot looking at getting a new one. I came here and in 5 minutes he got my laptop turned back on. Didn’t even charge me. So I bought some extra parts from him. He also took some extra time to explain how computers work and what the memory vs hard drive is. Very nice guy.

Ive been doing business with this company for years, both at their current location and the old location. I have bought several computers for myself, work and a gaming computer for my son. I buy parts for computer based video games pretty often. They have always been real good at answering any of my questions and pointing me in the right direction when I have a problem I cant fix. There have been several times when I was in over my head and let them fix it for me. I bought a MacBook Pro charger and the charger stopped working after 45 days. I brought the charger back in and the person at the front desk had such a horrible attitude and yelled at me, before telling me I was covered under warranty. He eventually tossed me a replacement onto the desk and I left. The charger went out 2 months later and the same guy told me he didn’t care what I said because my warranty was up. Customer service is horrible here if you have a problem. The guy threw the charger at me and never offered a refund in the first place. This place sells defective products.

I was on the hunt for a power supply for my external hard drive. Not being from Atlanta originally I wasnt familiar with the inventory of local stores so I began my hunt. After literally calling 10+ stores with no luck I gave GIM Computers a call. He explained that he would need to see the hard drive to determine the size power supply I would need but couldnt guarantee he would have the size. Sure enough I drove down to his store and he had the parts I needed available and in stock. The whole transaction was done in less than ten minutes and he had provided me with everything I was looking for at a more than reasonable price. Great service, great products, and I would highly recommend them for all your computer parts needs.

Horrible experience. I would suggest that if you have computer work to be done, you go to one of the big stores that have good customer service and that is going to be accountable for their work. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. We paid a ridiculous amount of money to have a server built that would automatically back up and notify us when the system wasnt functioning correctly. Now they are telling us, some other story. If you didnt set something up right, just be a man and own up to it. I wasnt even asking for my money back, even though you cost my business tens of thousands of dollars and man hours, but how are you going to charge me a $59.99 diagnostic fee to tell me that you basically screwed me the first time i trusted you to build a proper system for me. LESSON LEARNED!!! You make it bad for other small business owners. You make people want to only trust big businesses that actually have the money to backup their mistakes. I will never buy a computer or server again from a small company. And the way you talked to me & my company was atrocious like we are sub-human although we have spent thousands of dollars with you.

DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!!! I bought 2 Apple computers for this place. The first one, the graphics card went out in one month. The owner said he couldn’t do anything because I missed my Warranty by a few days. So I bought another one, similar situation but the graphics from other apps are sticking to the background. Owner tells me he don’t make the computer, apple do. Very rude and doesn’t care that he sold me 2 computer that has problems!

I paid for a diagnostic... they told me motherboard needs to replaced, ($600). Decided to wait. Went home and opened the computer up and noticed a wire was loose. I plugged it back in and now the computer works great. Almost got ripped off by a couple hundred.

My favorite place me and my fiance go to for our computer issues. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. He truly saved the day for me recently. My new work at home job required dual monitors. I brought two previously from a new store which UPS dropped it one monitor was cracked. I went to Mr. Gim and he had another monitor I could buy so I could start work on time and he made sure my DVI cord would connect together before I left. I will be back to him when I finally start my podcast!

The reason I give only 1 star is not because they failed to repair my pc is because of their altitude and worst service.After they told me that they cannot repair my laptop, I think it is fine because everything has an end day which I totally understand. But what make me mad is the computer they give me back is totally a mess. They open my laptop to check but they didnt turn it back! The screw is lost and the total back of the laptop is scattered. now i even cannot unfold my laptop.If you want to repair your laptop, please do not come here. Not even give them a try

They sold me my first laptop ate age 10 or something. It has been 20 years. Now I just buy custom gaming computers cuz the Big Box stores install too much crap on theirs. These guys just install what is needed, none of the spammy stuff.I dont know about the one star guys. Maybe they expected too much, but what big box store will make you a server like that or even offer the video card you need for Blade & Soul?

I bought a 15 Macbook pro for a little over $600 which I thought was a great deal, only to after a few months crash on me. The computer shuts down in the middle of a task and reboots. After this kept happening, I opened the computer only to find that the battery was held in place by bubble wrap! I was puzzled as to why and realized that the parts that keep in in place were broken off. OK. Then I looked over to the hard drive only to find more bubble wrap! The hard drive was held in place again by bubblewrap! Im going back to demand an explanation. I dont have money to throw around and this place sells janky equipment. If you buy something from there, open it up and check it out first!

First, I will never buy another item from GIM Computer and if you are in the market for a used computer...BUYER BEWARE!I just left GIM Computers after returning a used Mac Book Pro that I purchased only 2 months ago. Earlier today it just stopped working. I took the computer back knowing that the warranty was only for 3 weeks, however hoping it was nothing major.The story I got was that the logic board went bad due to some kind of liquid spill. This was an entirely bogus claim and instead of owning up to the fact that I was sold a defective machine, they wanted to place the blame on me. I am not upset with GIM Computers. I am upset with myself for trusting them. The 3-week warranty was done, and I had no recourse for any type of refund, so the honest thing to do was just admit that there was an issue with the computer. To make matters worst, a women behind the counter who I assumed was Mr Gims wife smirked why didnt I buy a new one and then laughed.I will never get my $450 back but GIM Computers will never get another dime from me. I have done business with in the past, and I am pretty sure I would have spent more than $450 over the long run. If you get a used computer from them...buyer beware! There is a moral to this story...always listen to your significant other. After talking the owner, she said he was not to be trusted and warned me about getting this computer from him...SHE was Right!

I have had two great experiences with GIM and it is my go-to for any electronics repairs. I brought in an iPhone and MacBook that I thought might be completely un-repairable. I was wrong! The owner was able to fix the iPhone on the spot and the MacBook was fixed after dropping off with a quick turn around. Glad to have found GIM!

Dont buy overpriced OEM parts. Get the OEM or generic equivalent at better price. They also have used computers and laptops at great prices, and warranty available. Is your computer broken, they can fix it at a reasonable price.!!!

Cant speak to repair service but for used equipment be sure to check it thoroughly, as they dont. Bought Macbook, found camera not working. Brought it back, was offered a refund because I can resell it. After unpleasant negotiation I settled for a lousy $15 rebate--I was on the road so it wasnt worth fighting over, but I feel ripped off. Caveat emptor.

Location location location! About the only pc parts store with actual quality inventory near the south side of Atlanta. Im done driving to frys and microcenter. Found a not so available locally molex to pcie converter with ease.

Called to ask a simple question on services provided, person on phone was extremely rude and standoffish. a simple no would have sufficed.
