One of the best bagel shops in the city imo. Though this was my first visit to the shop, I had actually been eating their bagels for years because they are sold at a coffee shop near my office. However, Ive been working from home since the pandemic, so I had not had t them for quite a while.I tracked them down and couldnt be happier. The jalapeno bagel is my absolute favorite, its spicy, cheesy and the bagel has the perfect pull when you but it. It is also preservative free which is even better. Today I tried the onion, garlic bagel with bacon and egg and it too was excellent!Great bagels, great location, great service what more could a guy ask for. I recommend them, just try to leave me a few jalapeno bagels please.

This place just fine, the bagels were decent, I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and it was well prepared. It took a long time to place my order and to receive it as well. Idk if they do over the phone orders but if they do this will safe you a Ton of time. The vibe is cute and chic and the have an interesting ordering line set up. The prices are okay as well. Nothing about this experience was impressive but it’s worth trying and seeing if you like it. Oh yea an I order a side of bacon, 4$ I think, to only get 2 strips of it not worth it from my point of view but now I know.

Although they messed up my order, this is definitely a great place to have bagels.I ordered a chopped cheese with egg, lettuce, tomato, and onions. They stated they can’t mix hot with cold (which was confusing to me.) but they gave me the toppings on the side. My bagel sandwich didn’t have the egg on it. All these things were a bummer and I would have given 3 stars but………There was a homeless guy that was at this location. The manager, instead of treating him indecently, actually went up to him and asked if he wanted something to eat. He addressed him as sir and actually gave him a nice fresh cup of coffee. Additionally, the manager sanitized the stations and gave the guy sanitizer wipes. The way they treated this man showed me that the culture of this establishment is one of tremendous value. Customer for life!!!!!

Great bagels and zero complaints! The bagels themselves are outstanding and Id definitely recommend the rosemary and sea salt. Great combo and perfect sprinkles of salt! Best of all; Emerald City is vegan friendly!! They have vegan cream cheese, hummus, and mashed avocado as options. Big fan! Only feedback would be to let me put hummus AND cream cheese on my bagel when I order online (I can only choose one). Great weekend brekkie

Great NYC style bagel. Probably the best I have had in Atlanta. I walked in and was served right away. Staff was friendly. I would have given 5 stars except for a couple of things. I do not particularly care for rye seed added to an everything bagel as it tends to dominate the seasoning. I also like a NYC classic scallion cream cheese which is not available. That being said, I will return to try some of their other offerings.

Delicious bagels, but not worth the wait.I would say these are my favorite bagels in Atlanta. But my last experience will have me avoid this location. The line for both online order and ordering there are both long. I went in without an online order and waited in line for 10 minutes. Then once I had my order for a dozen bagels (no creme as I bought the separate tubs from the fridge), it took me 1 hour to get my bagels. No bagels are worth that long of a wait. Overall was there for 1.5 hours.I am not sure if it was a mistake or the actual usual wait time. At 40 minutes the person that ordered before me got their egg/some type of breakfast bagel. 20 minutes later I asked the person at the counter if I missed my name. They said ah I see your receipt let me go get your bagels. Then they were out of cinnamon (not when I ordered :( ), so just got different types for those. When I finally got my bagels the counter person said sorry. I am not sure if this was a sorry for how long I waited or if they lost my receipt in the stack of orders they have in the queue.Long story short: bagels are delicious, but if you dont get there at opening the cost to your time is just not worth it.

I really want to love this place. It has a great vibe, the staff is always friendly and as a New Yorker I need to have a good bagel place. However, the bagels are just not that good. They typically taste and chew like they are a day old and they seem to get smaller and smaller each time. I do really like the cream cheese options though.Side note - the online ordering is easy and seamless.

The positive: Pretty good bagels. The negative: We have gotten bagels from here twice over the past couple of months. The “Covid”-process is boggling. You need to purchase online before pickup.Okay, fine, I’m good with that. BUT, you can’t place an order the night before - it has to be day of. When you are trying to place an order, there is no selection for a future time… it must be placed as “ASAP”. Once selected, you only receive a projected time after completion of the order.. this would be fine, if the time hadn’t been 45 minutes+ on both occasions. So you’ve paid, now you wait. Once you go to pickup the bagels you will be met by a line. While the bagels are popular, the line is driven by the sheer slowness of giving out the bagels…After all this - an hour plus wait and $30 for a few bagels - you’ve received a pretty good bagel.I’m fine with a wait… but the system, at least through the customer lens, almost seems to be used to disguise the wait intentionally since no information is given up front. It also shouldn’t take that long to get a bagel..

Sea salt Bagel is great. This place used to be my favorite because it was the only place I could get a bagel with vegan cream cheese. However some time ago they started making the vegan cream cheese in house. Appreciate the effort to keep it natural, however it tastes nothing like cream cheese to me. I dont understand this choice when there are so many good vegan cream cheese options available at the grocery store. Miss the old version. Now I just take my bagel home and have my own cream cheese.

One hour wait for two bacon egg and cheese bagels. After 45 mins of waiting, I asked if they had mine in the queue, and apparently they were waiting on the egg (which I also heard the same comment from multiple other people who asked). Also it seemed like online orders took priority over the in-person orders, as they continued to call out names that weren’t present and each of the in-person orders waiting over 1 hour for their order.

This used to be my favorite spot in east Atlanta for breakfast. The staff always friendly. The bagels always solid. But there is Salome EXTREME laziness being masked as Covid procedures at this establishment. For example - the LP line ordering system is incredibly complicated, and you can no longer order by phone.Fine, work flow, I get it.But now for some reason you can no longer get any vegetables or what they consider “cold” items on a breakfast sandwich. Why? This makes no sense. How is it better to waste plastic containers so get toppings each individually packaged on the side and then add them yourself. At that point - why don’t I just of bug the ingredients and make it myself! The frustration here is my to go order gets three sides separately packaged I am supposed to add onto a melted together bagel - I have to make my own sandwich in the car that’s supposed to be “to go”. Just doesn’t make sense. I’ve asked and told its just too difficult on the staff… but like… You’re a bagel and bagel sandwich place, this is your primary function.Again - great food, but progressively rude and careless customer service will keep me away.

Whats better than a great bagel.... a cool restaurant that serves great bagels. I was really excited to walk in and see the old-time bagel shop with the homemade bagels and homemade cream cheese. Their outfits are adorable and reminds me of the 50s era. They even have a window with a small step stool for kids to look through to view staff prepare items in the back. I decided today will be the best day to visit being that it was Mothers Day and close to the church in which we attend. My mother was a little skeptical but absolutely loved the interior and the food. The only hang up is that there is not much seating inside nor outside of the shop but it is a bagel so just get it to go and walk around and see all the beautiful shops that are in the area. Not a big deal at all. My son absolutely loved his egg and cheese bagel. He said he should have got gotten two, it was so delicious. They will see us again soon.

For my very first experience with Emerald City Bagels, I purchased 2 sesame seed bagels today, expecting them to be outrageously delicious. They were not, however, outrageously delicious; instead, they were not even ho-hum. Indeed, the 2 bagels were actually sort of low quality for bagels. Im originally from the Northeast and have had more than my share of top notch bagels in Philadelphia and New York city. These 2 bagels did not even come close to those bagels Ive had in the past. For my money, I think that the best bagels Ive had in Atlanta are those sold by Goldbergs and, in particular, the Goldbergs in Toco Hills Shopping Center.

The ordering system can be confusing given the all-virtual shift and when you go to pick your order up there is a mishmash of lines with no delineation of who is standing where for what.My wife enjoyed her bagel sandwich but my cinnamon sugar bagel was highly disappointing. It only had the faintest dusting of cinnamon sugar on one exterior side (as well as some random sesame seeds). I would have expected cinnamon swirls throughout the bagel itself or something more substantial, as it was I could barely detect the cinnamon sugar.

Not sure if this is Covid related staffing shortage (I hope they pay their people well given the cost of the bagels). I first came to know of these bagels when I worked at the shared kitchen that was Emerald City’s home before they opened this location, and I fell in love with these perfectly-boiled-and-baked, REAL bagels: crispy outside when toasted, chewy inside - as opposed to the donut-shaped-bread that passes so often as a bagel.Emerald City doesn’t make a style of bagel that isn’t delicious; and the schmears are scrumptious, too! But, if you can actually get to this location and have a bagel sandwich (paired with one of their house-made fountain drinks), you’ll know the bliss that keeps me dreaming of returning to Emerald City in EAV.

I waited until 11:50, got back in line, and then spoke with the woman at the window. She spent about 5 to 10 minutes looking at my phone and the order number, going around talking to other employees, and generally just showing that nobody had their clue as to what they should be doing. Finally, 10 minutes after my second arrival at the window, the decision was made that they were going to go ahead and just remake my two bagels with cream cheese. They remade them and gave me the food. The whole situation was obnoxious, wasted half an hour of my time, and then to top it all off, the bagels werent toasted and the whole product was subpar. If youre going to charge $4 for a bagel and cream cheese at the very least have a good product, and then beyond that get your customer service game up because that was atrocious. I will never be back here and anytime anybody mentions it to me I will tell them to stay away or to go eat some dirt instead.

Their strawberry cream cheese has slices of fresh strawberry folded in, their veggie has huge chunks of crunchy veggies, etc.. Im getting hungry again just typing this review. If you havent been yet, you have to try this place. Super clean and cozy inside and the staff is very friendly. Doesnt hurt that its only $3.50 for a bagel with cream cheese either. Love this place!

Tasty! I saw some poor reviews regarding online ordering but personally, my bagel came out quick and hot! I had a salt bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, tomato and mayo, and I also got an iced coffee. All together it was around $10 with a 20% tip. Not too shabby for how good it tasted. I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve eaten hundreds (maybe thousands?) of bagels in my life, and this place is just okay.I have picked up bagels from Emerald City about 5 times. I keep coming back here because it’s one of the most popular bagel places in the city. Overall, the bagels aren’t terrible, but they’re not good either. Definitely not an authentic NY style bagel. The bagels are far too hard in texture and lack the signature exterior shine that makes bagels chewy and delicious. On the interior, the dough has very little tunneling (i.e., air pockets). It’s basically just a piece of hard bread made into a circle. Kinda like what you buy at Kroger.Meh... 4/10

What I expected is not what I saw. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. I didnt tasted any cinnamon or raisins just a lot of cream cheese. I dont have any plans on going back.

I honestly have zero idea what the hype is about this place. I regret visiting. Im not even gonna complain about the price because just like many others that have heard the hype of this place, I didnt mind the overpriced-ness for really good bagels. But let me tell you that instead of bagels I got briks. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese toasted, a Nova Lux bagel toasted, and four $4 bagels to take home. They were not toasted. Also, if you dont order ahead then get ready to wait on the longest line youll ever make at Home Depot.

Had not been here since before Covid. But right now its order online only. They dont tell you until your at the front of the line and ask for a confirmation code, turned out to be an hour wait. They need more notification that its order online only,.and not takeout

Make sure you have an extra 30 minutes. Food is good, but their ordering system is horrible.
