Im pretty sure this was the best ice cream I have ever eaten- in my entire life. I cant even put into words how creamy it was. 10/10 will be back asap.

Me and my friend went to get a quick bite of ice cream here, but ended up waiting over 30 minutes for 1 cup of ice cream. We were disappointed that there was no communication about the estimate of how long we would have to wait for ice cream. We understand that the ice cream is handmade and premium quality, but customers should be informed about how long they should expect to wait. We were also dissatisfied with the serving size as most of it was whipped cream. We understand that keeping a small business alive during a pandemic is difficult and we commend you for that. However, the experience was less than satisfactory and if things were to change in a more positive direction, we think more customers would be satisfied.

Bubble waffles were good. The issue we had was ordering 2 ice creams. The first came out and was already melting and dripping constantly through the bottom of the cone. More than 5 minutes later the 2nd ice cream came out. One ice cream was advertised as having chocolate chips but it was sprinkles... definitely not the same thing.

Imagine a bowl of ice cream. Imagine what you think is the maximum fair price. Multiply that number by 2. Welcome to Whirlybird, the ice cream parlour for people without price sensitivity. The ice cream is above average, but for a quarter of the price, I could have had something that would have made 75% as happy.

My new favorite ice cream place!! I have been looking for a place to try dairy free/vegan ice creams and they have the best ones. The employees are more than kind and willing to do everything to make sure that you are satisfied!! Definitely a must try!!

We were able to order promptly at the window and took advantage of the outdoor seating. Our senior dog loved the pup cup! We spoiled our dinners.

I went here a few days ago and loved the ice cream and customer service. It was very tasty and well worth the money. Great flavor and lasted long enough to enjoy every bit of it. The cashier was very helpful in deciding on the cookie butter banana ice cream, her name was Alayina (if I remember correctly). Will definitely come back here!

We loved that there was the option to make any of the shakes dairy free. We choose the fruity pebbles and it was delicious 😋

The other day my friend and I came here. One does not normally think that they need to be vigilant of the potential wait time of an ice cream parlor other than the ordering line, but perhaps I was naive in thinking that our ice cream would not take 30 minutes to make. My dear friend wrote a very well thought out review in which she provided constructive criticism and suggested that estimates of wait times should be provided to customers. The owner “responded” to this review with total disregard to the main point of concern. The owner, in fact, responds to every bad review left in concerning ways, such as accusing people of demoralizing the staff or saying how a specific staff member was told of a review and saddened. I find this unprofessional and manipulative. if you are reading bad reviews out loud to your poor young staff members then you are the problem. do you beat your staff with a whip every time you get a bad review? I write this while happily eating ice cream at The Hop.

Love it when I can support local business and get a super wonderful treat at the same time! The menu is unique and you wont be disappointed at the offerings! Toppings galore and a great take on cereal flavors as toppings. Support this local business!

Waffle cone was good, but we just ordered ice cream (it is a sandwich and an ice cream store) and it took around 25 minutes. When they finally brought it out, it was served in cups instead of the cone. Had to wait another 10 minutes to get the cone by itself....Ice cream wasnt even good, I ordered vanilla and it didnt have any flavor. My boyfriend ordered blueberry and we thought it would have blueberries in it, no... it was a weird blueish color and it tasted like kool-aid mixed up with milk. How can you ruin vanilla?!

I order ice cream with Oreo, cookie dough and caramel. get ice cream with Oreo and caramel. I’m sad now... asked for them to redo it and she dumped 6 pieces of cookie dough on top then gave it back. Please... I wanted the cookie dough :(

The ice cream was really really tasty. Creamy, smooth, great flavor. But not 1 hour and 15 minutes tasty. Thats how long we waited for two cups of ice cream. Probably wont go back for that reason.

This place is a great addition to Haywood road and their ice cream is fantastic. Alittle pricey for what you’re getting but that’s just the way things are going everywhere. Good people and good ice cream!

Unique ice cream that is well worth the trip. A lot of options for ice cream in this town but their creations are some of the, if not the best, Ive had. Cookie Butter Banana is a personal favorite. Highly rec

My favorite ice cream in Asheville! Its a little pricey but what isnt in this town!? Besides, the servings are large enough to save half for the next night. My only complaint is that I need whirlybird after 7pm on weeknights😅

AMAZING ice cream and bubble waffle!

Had a milkshake the other day and it was amazing. Just saw the reviews LOL. Look, if you cant find this place from the street, give yourself a one-star review and drive back to the burbs for some DQ. Great spot. Cant wait for summer.

I was dazzled by the pictures on Instagram and had heard they use really high quality ingredients. I was really looking forward to this place! After spending 12.50 on a sundae and a pup cup I was hoping for better flavor and packaging. The ice cream was ok, I preferred the vanilla for the pup cup over the strawberry. The cake was really dry and crumbly. The flimsy wooden spoon they gave me broke immediately and the sundae was towering out of this tiny cup they put it in so I ended up with ice cream all over my lap. I know it doesn’t look as cool but perhaps use some larger sundae cups, it was really difficult and messy to eat.

I don’t think this place exists. They say they’re inside the sandwich shop, but if you go to the window to order there is no menu for whirlybird. I kept seeing pictures of their ice cream online and was hoping to try it so I drove out to west Asheville, parked, and walked to find nothing. Don’t waste your time. There’s not even a phone number to call and ask questions.

Overpriced milkshake especially for the quality, it was okay to say the best. Took forever to get the milkshake and then it comes with a thin quality paper straw that instantly begins to get soggy. Eventually its too soggy to use before you even finish. This is a milkshake for instagram pictures more than enjoyment.

I have to be honest, the price of this milkshake was absolutely ridiculous, $8 for something that essentially just tastes like milk??? I don’t normally like to leave bad reviews but the fact that it was that expensive and I ended up waiting 20 minutes to get the shakes was just disappointing :(

What a fun treat! At first I was put off by the $8 specialty flavors but learned that there are many less expensive options as well. We tried a chocolate shake ($5), kids scoop of vanilla, dairy free cold brew and a dairy free kids chocolate ice cream. Everyone was impressed. My DF cold brew ice cream came with chocolate shavings and a drizzle of some delicious chocolate sauce. Yum!As residents of West Asheville we are thrilled to be supporting another innovative buisness and supporting an existing one!
