Delightful coffee shop! i have been here twice. the espresso is very strong, which is how i like it. they have cute merchandise, and a really nice indoor outdoor feel. basically open air so you don’t have to worry about covid. staff is friendly. no almond milk, but they have oat and macadamia milk. i would recommend it!

Honestly, if it’s a Saturday and you seem different from everyone else in any way, you won’t feel welcome. I was sitting here 20 minutes waiting for a “for-here” order that was forgotten about when everyone else around me was getting what they paid for. I regret not getting a receipt, but it was crowded and noisy and I felt I didn’t have time to enter my phone number because I’m autistic and I was experiencing sensory overload. I get that it’s busy today but I trusted them to at least not forget about people’s orders, even if there is a delay. It’s a small thing at the end of the day, but as an autistic person I felt extremely ostracized and I will not be coming back. Think what you want about me but this has been my experience. I’ve been here a few times before and had great experiences, but I feel ignored and let down today.

What first hits you when you drive/walk up to Farewell is the excellent build out. You get strong Mediterranean vibes that start melting any tension you may be feeling. Once you walk into the cafe, youre greeted by a friendly barista ready to help you get a nice beverage. I had an ice coffee, black with no sugar, and it was excellent. My fiance had an ice matcha that she said was fantastic as well. The ambience was so nice, we just took our time enjoying the space. Highly recommend.

The guy that takes you order seemed like I was bothering him to order. No pastry, no food. The coffee was bitter and unless you want to be treated rudely, I would pick any of the dozens of coffee shops in Asheville. Will not come again. The name Farewell makes sense now. It’s a one and done place to visit.

A trip to Farewell is a study in the absurdity of *mask mandates*. I was in two Asheville businesses this a.m. without a mask, no problem, but the counter ladies at Farewell were insistent that I wear a mask to order coffee.I offered to step outside to the patio to order. No can do. Then I pointed out that patrons sitting at tables less than two feet apart were not wearing masks. I was told that it was okay to sit and drink your coffee without a mask.🧐I then offered to sit down and let her take my order. Nope. I gave Farewell every opportunity to serve me and still comply with a supposed mask mandate, and they refused.Essentially they were happy to sell me coffee as long as I paid even the most cursory homage to the mandate. What this should tell you about covid mandates is that they are about control, not your health. Stop complying, folks

Cute little spot for coffee. It was difficult finding parking but there was great outdoor seating and they had a bowl of water down for dogs. I was disappointed that they didnt have any chai but the green tea was lovely. Theres also plenty of inside tables for reading and working.Update: I found out from local friends that they have AMAZING chai but only make one batch per day. Ill have to visit earlier in the morning to try it!

This place is very nice looking, tho it’s so small, I bumped into the person sitting at the counter and the person sitting at a table at the same time, when I was going to the bathroom. I am very skinny btw.The large mocha was $6 and it was came in small 10oz? cup and I didn’t taste any chocolate. The coffee was very good tho. Croissant was so hard I almost broke a tooth. Even after I warmed it up, I realized, it wasn’t just cold or old, it wasn’t really baked through well enough. I am writing this review because I’ve spent over $14 on these two items plus tip and I am so disappointed

Hands down Best coffee shop in Asheville. I had quit drinking coffee for a number of years in favor of tea, but came here to get coffee with my wife over winter, and haven’t turned back since. They source coffee from the best roasters around the country and always keep things fresh and interesting.

My reaction to seeing a sign along the sidewalk that advertises Coffee, Wine, Plants? Bout it. And that combination was very prevalent when you enter the Farewell coffee shop. They have a great barista bar and all over the shop are little green plants for sale. It makes it feel like a calm jungle inside while you sip on your drink. I enjoyed a small coffee with a splash of almond milk which was a perfect late afternoon pick me up as I transitioned from Bhramari to Burial. Looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in town

Several patrons without masks sitting inside their small shop chatting over coffee. As with any indoors dining right, this place is a hazard. Cant comment on the coffee since I did not go in. 2 stars only because they have a large open window on the side. People diagnosed with COVID are twice as likely to have dined in at a restaurant. Their location could easily be curbside service too.

UPDATED REVIEW: I appreciate the owners response and it makes total sense. 5 star coffee shop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This was also one of the first coffee shops to reopen not long after the pandemic temporarily closed everything down. They set the example of safe social distancing and upgraded protection to staff and customer 💚☮️👨🏾‍🍳👩🏾‍🌾ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was teetering on 4 or 5 stars because this place is a solid 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟The Rose Honey Latte is one of the best lattes I’ve ever had, anywhere 🌹 ☕️. The disappointment comes in I guess they only offer one size coffee because though I brought my own mug, it wasn’t filled up all the way. I understand some places leave room, but for me to make a comment about it shows it was noticeably not filled (I’d say probably only like 75% filled, maybe a little more). The biscuit was amazing and fresh, another great thing about this spot is they get fresh baked goods from local places like The Rhu.It isn’t that big and when I came a group was having a meeting so it was loud and crowded. They have tables and a bar with 2 stools so you can watch your drink being made 🥰. Not a lot of parking but it may have been because of the group there. Prices were excellent, compared to nearby coffee shops I was expecting to pay a few dollars more for what I got! 😃Decor is gorgeous and the staff is really friendly. It’s in a good location, easy to walk to if downtown since it’s right across the street from Greenman Brewery 💚Next time I think I’ll ask if I can pay extra to get my mug filled all the way, it would be nice if they offered a “top-off” fee for those who bring their own mugs. If this happens then I can easily say this is a 5 star coffee shop 😊.
