I went to look for something funky for my flower bed and ended up with a variety of things (plant holder, side table for the porch, and some measurements of possible yard art).Staff was helpful, wearing masks, and it was already busy at the 10:00am opening on a Tuesday morning. Ive been coming for years, and they are consistently exciting and inspiring. I would a thousand times rather find something unique and recycled than support something generic like amazon.

I hadnt heard of this place until recently when a friend of mine suggested it. Im so bummed that I havent had it on my thrift list all of this time! They have a plethora gorgeous pieces! vintage furniture, newly built tables and eclectic seating, cool lamps, fun knick knacks, beautiful woven baskets from other countries, to locally handmade. Prices range from the expected thrift costs to a higher range for the newly made pieces. Its a very easy store to get lost in looking at things. I wanted to buy so many items. For now I left with a gorgeous mid-century modern coffee table. 60 dollars! Totally worth it. I will be telling more people about this spot and popping in frequently to see whats new!

I love this store. Its a blend of antiques & high end quality handcrafted items. Theres something for everyone in every price range. You might need a 2nd mortgage on your house, its that good 😆. We bought so much stuff but couldnt buy everything we liked bc of limited space in the suv. The employees were nice enough but not warm friendly.

I would love to give this more stars. If it was based on what products they sell Id give it 5 stars, many are unique and beautiful. Based on my overall experience that brings it down to a 3. They dont degotiate prices with the sellers and that feels like an important element because I like to get the best deal and feel like many things are overpriced. Also, some of the staff could use a little more kindness when dealing with the clientele. The later part makes me question wanting to go back.

Cool store but the staff is just a big BLAH. If any of them smiled, asked if they could help or even said Hello - it would be a shock. Why such an unfriendly staff? It seems as though the customer is an interruption in their oh so miserable day.You arent in downtown Asheville - no need to act as they do and be so pretentious...Please consider this- there are a lot of nice, kind, caring people that you could put to work if you wanted to make the customers shopping experience a truly pleasant one.

A hodgepodge of second hand thrift finds organized as small storefronts. Its easier to shop if u have specific ideas in mind, like a bedside table or a tall lamp etc. Otherwise, u cd spend hours just browsing. I found a small bear cub outdoor sculpture. Everything is presented all mixed, not in categories. Sometimes browsing is all the activity u need...then lunch out in the BVillage.

I purchased two mid-century modern chairs from this establishment for over $600, for what they are — overpriced. Not even a week later one of my clients sat in the chair as someone normally would, and the back of the chair snapped completely in half. Turns out that this was a pre-purchase blemish that the vendor glued together and then resold for way too much money. Will not support this store again.

I have visited The Screen Door twice. The first time I purchased a few things including a desk. The customer service skills of the those attending the front counter are horrible. I was reprimanded for setting Items with items setting where I was told to set them. I purchased several dishes and made several trips to and from the counter. To top it off, while loading the desk, in the clerks haste to load it, he cracked the lens on my tail light. He never acknowledged it, much less an apologized. Even the simplest acknowledgement for “coming in” or appreciation for a purchase would have made the other blunders excusable.

The screen door is one of Ashevilles eclectic shops. Treasures abound in the plethora of booths inside, some booths have true antiques, some house vintage pieces, some have old interesting things, some display modern items, there are also lovely crafts and of course you will find some true junk. This unique mixture makes for an interesting shop. Even the walk into the shop from the parking lot is lined with large tempting goodies. It is definitely worth thirty minutes of your time to visit. Who knows, it could be your lucky day!

My friend and I spent almost two hours shopping, found some cool items, realized it was getting late and went to check out. The store is huge and if you’re not familiar with it you’ll get lost a few times. Anyway they turned the lights out and had closed the register when we got to the front. The clerk first said they closed at 6pm, then changed and said they closed at 5. We probably had $100 worth of merchandise we intended to buy. By the time we got to the car, unlocked it and started it, the radio clock said 5:02. Very poor customer service and not fair to the person who consigned the merchandise.
