This is a massive antique shop with a lot to see, but I didn’t feel particularly welcome when I visited. I had to fight a few times for the shopkeeper’s attention to check my backpack (they don’t let you bring large bags or backpacks around the store) and ask for assistance with an item that was locked away in a case. The prices are higher than other antique shops, but I think that’s to be expected given the downtown location. Overall I enjoyed looking at this huge antique mall and I did find some jewelry to buy, but it was a more arduous process than it should have been.

We couldn’t believe how many nooks and crannies were filled with unique antiques! Better than a museum.

This store makes a good effort at carrying genuine antiques. True antiquarians will not mind the thick layers of dust.

This has quite a large selection! Sitting right on the intersection of Walnut St and North Lexington Ave., this shop is more like a vast museum of pieces and curios that youre not likely to find anywhere else... and will most likely be of great assistance to you if you happen to be looking for a few items that date as far back as, say, the 1920s, maybe even earlier than that. Chances are, if youre looking for something that can be used for a prop in a historical film or television show locally, or certain pieces for an exhibit at a museum featuring niche topics, you might find it here!

Nice. i kinda hate how they make you turn your bags in before browsing but this is my favorite thrift store ever just because they have so much stuff. i will say everything is pretty pricey, and i only go to window shop due to that. also, if youre into vintage magazines definitely check this place out because they have a ungodly amount of old magazines in the back.

Hard to find but right across the street from the Southern on Walnut. So fun. Tons of stuff. Check out Jills Crisis! Fantastic! Keep walking and dont give up till you hit the back to the right. Have fun. It got too dirty so my things are listed on Mercari, Poshmark, Vint and vintage on Etsy. Mention this review for 25% off

I have been going here for years, never had a problem, I have enjoyed talking to the owners and buying intetisting trinkets from them.yet it seems that means nothing to them, considering I came in today and was treated with contempt and condescending by one of the new employees, I was attempting to do a trade on an item and was told they didnt do trades, okay fair enough but she took a tone with me when she said it and laughed in my face, when I asked why I couldnt trade for items in the store she accused me of wanting to do shady buisness and said I wouldnt comprehended how the store does things, and Im looking at her holding my tounge as I rent two booths in other stores in Asheville and have gone to this store and done trading before.me and my friend walked around abit and we decided to leave, I went to the front counter to get the stuff I had left there, I said in these exact words I want everyone to know i dont have a problem with anyone here, and I was going to spend some money here like I always do even if I couldnt get the trade, but the tone you took with me makes me not want to come back at which point she argues with me like Im a child, insisting Im just upset I didnt get my way, in said argument every ounce of respect I had for this place was thrown into the furnace, I have never felt more insulted in an antique store before, especially one I was a regular at for years.there is no issue with the two owners of the store, the man the beard and the woman with white hair, I will always have respect for them. but this younger woman with the grading laugh is the one to watch out for, she will insult you with no patience what so ever.I still cant believe I was treated that way.

I just really want to give a shout out to a place Ive been going to since I was a kid. I love the variety, interesting, and hard to find things here. The ladies and gentlemen that work there always polite and friendly and helpful. It may be a little bit Dusty and the ceiling might be having some issues falling in but its an old building full of amazing things. Since the booths are rented prices can be kind of all over the place but you can actually sometimes find a real deal or something worth the money cuz its rare. The view from the building of Lexington is also quite awesome. For years Ive enjoyed going into this business and I hope they continue to be there as Asheville changes to rapidly and in a way that a lot of locals are sad about. So if youre visiting or youre from here I highly suggest checking this place out. And know that Ive had two very real ghost experiences in this building. One was just last week and the other one was when I was 27. But thats another whole different story to tell. Honestly I try to go in here every time I visit downtown these days which is more and more rare. I used to live right down the street from them.

My wife and I spent over an hour looking and could have spent more! They have some construction going on but that didnt stop us from digging. There is a treasure for everyone in this shop no matter your taste. The people were very helpful and knew where to send you in the store if you were looking for something in particular. I was worried about prices in downtown shop but they were very reasonable!

So much stuff. It would take a week-month-year to really scope it all out. One would need to be a real old-stuff/antique buff to truly appreciate it. I am not one of those people, but if I were, I would want to swim through this sea of goodies.

They honestly have a little bit of everything. The place is huge and if youre looking for something, theyre more than happy to help you find it. It was a bit Dusty in my opinion, but then again, arent all antique stores? One thing I wish was different is their organization. They sort of have things all over the place with no clear organisation.
