Ordered a chai masala, blueberry muffin, brown sugar coffee cake! All super delicious. The only thing I have to say is that the customer service could be better. I am from Miami and I had never been to this place to I asked a simple question as to how the food will come out, and the lady behind the counter answered really sarcastically as if I should know. I’m not a regular here but if this is how they treat there customers i don’t suggest this place. I still gave it four stars because I’m not from here and the food was still good. This was just my experience, hope this helps ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent coffee shop! Lovely store and outside seating area. Pet friendly cafe !This place sells their own coffee beans and they look amazing! They have a great variety of coffee ranging from Colombia to Ethiopia.Their baked goods look delicious as well. Their blue berry muffin is phenomenal! Their brown sugar coffee cake is delicious as well. Pair it with their chai masala. Very delicious and the right amount of spice.Lovely place to sit outside, enjoy a cup of coffee with a muffin, and do some work on your computer.Their staff is kinda mean (we are tourists and they were really annoyed at our questions lol) but the service was really fast !
Pretty good coffee shop that is a staple of Arlington. Needs additional seating options but they are limited to what they can add. Coffee is okay, and food is pretty good.
Hosted a small shower here and it was a very nice place. I am from out of town and the manager that I was in contact with while planning everything was very thorough. The staff that we interacted with during our event were all very nice. The food was great - we had a pretty big assortment of platters, canapés, and baked goods, plus mimosas and coffees. The wine bar space was cozy and private. I would absolutely stop in here to eat next time I’m visiting the area.
I started going to Northside Social back when I was in grad school up the street. Ive never had a bad experience and they definitely have the best hot chocolate in Clarendon! Solid choice for first dates, networking meetings, or setting up a place to get work done in the back room.
I lived close to Northside Social for 4 years and went there often after work and on the weekend. It’s a great place to meet up with friends to catch up and to work if you need to focus for an extended period of time. The drinks and teas are always made well and the food is made with high quality ingredients. The only cons are that the wait can be ridiculous on the weekend and the bacon is often way too salty.
Definitely a good choice, especially if you are trying to impress, everybody hear was so helpful
We had a great time on a beautiful day! A fun patio and good coffee. The lunches passing by looked awesome.
Visited this friendly place on a beautiful day. Nice menu and selection of drinks for a social gathering. A selection of small rooms and an outdoor seating area makes it great for small gatherings.
Love this place! I used their website for an easy order ahead experience and would love to come back when I have time to stay and enjoy the cute outside seating area. Staff was super nice and helpful!!
Been here lots of times during visits to DC and the food (especially the baked goods) and drinks are almost always really good! Prices are on the higher side, but then again, its Clarendon. Also has a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas.
One of those places that’s super expensive but like… really good and worth it so i keep coming back even though i can’t afford it 😔😔 paid like $7 for the best cup of coffee ive had in my life. also the staff are lovely and welcoming and the vibes are immaculate :)
We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the place was busy, it was great to see a local business doing so well! The baked goods are to die for (any muffins or the everything scone, yum) and they have plenty of indoor, outdoor, and upstairs seating. Service can be slow, but worth it! Their breakfast sandwiches are all delicious. I did order the Peanut Butter Hummus Toast, and while nutritious, I would order something different next time. Cant wait to be back!
Definitely a go-to spot for coffee and treats when we visit family in Arlington. This time we tried some different selections. There was a pink peppercorn latte on the menu that sounded adventurous, but it didnt have very exciting flavors as we expected, and it also seemed like they forgot the extra shots of espresso we requested to be in it . The cookie with butterscotch and pepper was quite good, as was the blueberry scone. The warm olives were an unusual and not completely off-putting twist to the hummus plate, but it hardly made it worth more than $10. We used to find vegan options in the snack area, but we didnt see anything specifically vegan this trip. Were looking forward to our next trip to the area to see if you take it back up a notch so we can give you 5 stars!
I read good reviews, but as for me, they messed up my order for a mocha latte w/ honey by just making a latte. When I told them I ordered a mocha but the drink said latte, all they did was squirt some chocolate syrup in and hand it back to me. They didnt even bother to mix it, let alone remake it. I also did not taste any honey in it as I ordered and tasted last time I ordered it. Very disappointing experience as I know how good their mocha usually is. I drove a long distance to get their coffee, but the quality was not worth it.
Good coffee and great baked goods, pastries and a big outdoor space. Highly recommend the peach muffin!
We come here every time we’re in town to visit the in-laws. This place is great for low-key brunch and coffee. They have really good food, coffee, wine, and desserts. I’m a really big fan of the sausage breakfast sandwich which comes with a basil aioli. Delicious. I also love their outdoor seating. Their upstairs is a great place to work on a laptop too.
It was like my second home, meeting with friends even with my customers anyway … I was eating my favorite dessert since 2018 and last time it was not fresh so when I said to him he was arguing with me it’s fresh, I tried, its really good it, can’t be stale… I don’t know he’s name but( Serbian, Russian something like that accent he had) after that experience I’ll never ever go to north side social again…
The staff was friendly to us and it the atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. We came in the evening so there was a limited amount of pastries that were available. I ended up getting the vegan lemon ginger scone and it was pretty good. I also got a blueberry rooibos iced tea to go with it. I just thought the tea was okay, so I would probably get another drink if I were to come back. Luckily I was able to find a parking spot at the lot next to the place, but I can imagine the parking can fill up fast on busier days/timesThis is a nice place to hang out at, and I would definitely like to come back in the future
This place has good coffee, great beer and a nice outside sitting area. The beer and wine is a bit too expensive for what you get. Otherwise, this place is great.
I got a vegan cookie to go and didnt see it until later. It was basically burnt, completely hard like a rock, and didnt taste like much of anything. The iced coffee is good but maybe stick to the normal stuff.
Got the egg sandwich and it did not disappoint. The bread was fantastic. Need to try their ice cream and stop in for happy hour...
Lots of outdoor seating, so very covid friendly. Fun food and drink options at fair prices.
Cute spot, delicious coffee, and very friendly staff. I highly recommend their Saturday sip.
Great coffee spot, good food options, and solid study/work spot (though a popular one!).
So much fun for getting some work done on your laptop. Gets busy later in the day, but that adds to the ambiance. Food was great as well.
Delicious cookies and baked goods, great coffee, friendly staff and dog friendly patio. Who could ask for more?
Great coffee spot that turns into a fun wine / social at night. Good drinks and atmosphere with friendly staff.
The scones are delicious! I had a cafe au lait that was yummy as well!
Great local spot with a bougie flair on classic American fair. Can get crowded after 5 on weekdays from the typical hipster crowd.
Great coffee and good food in a social setting. Wonderful outdoor seating area.
Coffee Good Liked the food outside seats nice employees help me
Northside has amazing lattes, lunch, and the best gluten free options if you want a treat. There is something for everyone here!
One of my favorite places to do multi-hour remote work. Coffee is good, menu items keep you going, and WiFi is strong. The upstairs transitions to a wine bar at 5pm so its a great place to knock a few back when work is done! The only annoyance—not Northsides fault—is downtown Arlington is pay parking almost everywhere, M–Sa during business hours. Shirlington and Old Town Alexandria have similar spots where you can park for free nearby.
I like coming here to work because there are other people working. Misery loves company! Interesting people watching too. One guy was looking at… nsfw stuff, and one couple met and he asked her out on a date. Wonder how their date went. The music is fine, but too loud. Pro Tip: Bring ear plugs.
I came into Northside today for my usual espresso and weekly bag of beans. They were exceptionally busy, but still managed to deliver a quality drink and I’ll keep coming back. The place has been loaded since everything has opened back up, like a baked potato with all the fixins, but these folks serve it up better than an MLB pitcher on a 6 inning heater. Rather use them than my divorce lawyer tbh. Honestly you’ve prolly stopped reading by now but thanks for enjoying the journey with me!!
Love the food and coffee here, always my go-to when Im in Arlington. Special shout out to the lemon lavender cookies and the chocolate gluten free cookies...yummmmmm
It’s an okay place to meet up for coffee/drinks, but the young woman working behind the counter is incredibly rude. She was dismissive, annoyed, and clearly did not want to help customers. The food is average - I ordered the turkey sandwich and the bread was thicker than the entire sandwich. I felt like I was eating 70% bread and 30% sandwich filling. Not worth the money, there are plenty of other places in Arlington.
We had a wonderful lunch/dinner at this location.
High quality coffee tea and pastries. Plenty of outdoor seating. Good amount of outlets and wifi indoors
Great everything. Food. Drinks. Service.
Their service was extraordinary and the food was wonderful.
Very well located and it’s a nice chilling cafeteria.
Best place to hang out and get work done.
*POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM CASHIER / PROFESSIONALLY DISCURTEOUS*. I completely understand that this review is pointless since N. Social has non-stop customers, but it doesnt absolve the cashier/barrista from poor and dismissive customer service. My friend and I walked up and asked a decaf and espresso please, when the cashier replied we dont have any, and when we asked what else [decaf drinks] were available, she replied we close in 10 minutes, and my friend asked how is that relevant. Instead she could have replied with well we do have ___ but instead her snotty attitude and authority really came in, like my friend and I were inconveniencing her. Lack of customer service, proper decorum. She was professionally discurteous, inattentive to customer needs/wants and curt in her response. Unfortunately this toxicity is all over the DC and NOVA area. Sad and what a disaster. Like I said, most people will still go here and put up with it. Go to Khaldi Social House, Whole Foods Market cafe, East West, Three Whistles instead. Owner please reprimand or mention this to her. Short dark hair, tattos on her arms, cafe colored skin. She will destroy your brand.
Nice atmosphere, but all the staff were extremely rude and impatient. Over priced food and chicken salad sandwich wasn’t good. I can see how it would be nice place to get coffee and cake but like mention before, Very rude staff which lead to a bad experience overall. Not worth it.
This was a special dinner at this lovely restaurant.
Great service and good coffee! The food is also very delicious
I love to go there because the staff is always smiling
Our server is super friendly and explained well.
Good beer selection, but could be better :) … great afternoon vibes…. A post-work palace.
The person at the register today was very friendly and helpful! Also food & coffee is lovely.
Blueberry rooibos drink was good. Nice spot and great staff, but food could be better, especially for the price. Turkey sandwich had a fake smoked taste, and the side salad dressing wasn’t very flavorful.
Love the vibe of this spot in Arlington. Great third wave style coffee, delicious sweets (especially the cookies) and great small portion food items. They also wine and some beers. Northside Social is a beautiful representation of the community in which is resides. Everyone and all ages can be found and we love it! Also the Baristas and super friendly. Parking is metered, but there are plenty of spots. Americano and Latte were really good... but not 5 stars. They use Counter Culture Beans!
Coffee was meh, cinnamon bun was dry and a little burned and surprisingly not served warm, but otherwise the atmosphere was nice. Would try again.
A balanced cafe. Offers everything from food to coffees & teas. The staff are nice, hardworking, and respectful. It has a casual seating area and then even a nicer bar upstairs. I like it a lot and thank the business for being welcoming and kind.
Food was great and coffee hot. Outdoor seating available and also space on second floor.
My favourite hangout place!
For those who enjoy mocha, not many options exist. The sign going in says as long as you are eating or drinking, one does not need to have a mask on. However, the person behind the counter strongly informed me otherwise. A more pleasant statement would have been appreciated.
You wanna a coffee, beer and cafe place in Clarendon. This is one of kind. I know there will be a new development on the land it locates but it will be there in the neighborhood.
The cafe and the croissant were very good.
Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they had a very nice selection of drinks and food. Chai latte was pretty good and so were the breakfast sandwiches. We got the sausage and poached egg and the bacon and poached egg Sammys. Overall, not a huge fan of the poached egg on the breakfast sandwhich, definitely different but there was way too much bread to egg ratio that left us a little unsatisfied. Seems to be a very popular spot in the area, so be prepared for lines or ordering online pickup to speed things up. Will likely come back and try out their lunch menu.
Northside has easily some of the best coffee in the area. Theres always plenty of seating and pleasant music. Cant wait to go back!
Really enjoy their chai latte and the atmosphere is good.
Loved the coffee but I didn’t like the place, it was hot ans smells bad
Excellent chicken salad, even better staff. Thank you!
This place is great. I never write reviews but the poached egg sandwiches are SO GOOD
Its OK. The outdoor seating is a plus. The kale salad was fine.
Fun place for coffee. The atmosphere is probably better than the coffee and foods though.
Everything was delicious and absolutely beautifully.
I do not have enough good things to say about northside social. It is great coffee. They do tend to get busy especially around brunch time on the weekend, but the line does move relatively quickly. The coffee is roughly the same price as starbucks, but it is so much better. If you get a chance, get a sticky bun there. They are delicious but they definitely sell out frequently. You can also get beer and wine there! In the picture is a large mocha latte.
Their prices are kinda over inflated, and their service always seems to be lacking. I go infrequently and always seem to be helped by someone whos unhappy to be there. The vegan scones are excellent though. I just probably wont go very much after this. Great place to meet people for a quick drink as well.
Great gathering place with good food and snacks. Great place to hang around. Hope to use more once the pandemic is over.
A really good variety of food & drinks. Parking could be a bit difficult to find on the weekends. Dont drink and drive.
