I had my 1996 LT1 Corvette in for replacement of coolant lines, heater hoses, and a full coolant system flush, and Robert and staff were knowledgeable, professional, and did great work at a great price, especially on the tricky LT1 setup. Worst shop ever!! Thought this was going to be a good shop since we were referred by a friend of a man named Marty who is a mechanic there. Worst decision to come here!! Overpriced, very rude, and didn’t tell me that they were going to charge $100 to look at it. Then told me it was 460 to fix my one brake caliber.. the part they said was 150 and the rest was labor. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!

I took my car here to get the motor mechanism for my window replaced and to have my rear view mirror put back up. I had tried on five different occasions to put it up. These guys not only saved me lots of money versus going to the dealership... They also pointed out extra repairs the dealership was suggesting which were not necessary. In other words, these guys prioritize service in the hopes that you return versus sticking you with a bunch of frivolous repairs and a bill you would have to finance to pay. Bonus points for working with Costcos auto program which saved me a little more off the top. Excellent business practices. I will be back for my next repair.

Awesome experience with some great people and truly gifted mechanics. They were able to diagnose and repair a squeaking sound on my Hyundai Sonata after the dealership at Universal Hyundai looked at it twice and couldnt figure out the issue. Needless to say Ill no longer be going to the dealership and instead take it to the pros at 1st Performance Automotive and have the job done right the first time around.

I am quite familiar with how auto repair shops try to rip you off, I have several mechanics in my family while growing up. These guys are above board and honest. They have no idea how much automotive knowledge that I have. I have given them ample opportunity to try and rip me off if they were of the mind to, yet they have never tried to take advantage of me. As a result I recommend Rob and his shop to everyone including my children. An honest mechanic is a rare commodity these days.

Had my car towed to this shop by AAA on their recommendation today and I must admit, I was pretty nervous about it. Finding a repair place you can trust is a risky business! To my great relief, my experience could hardly have gone better. The repair was quick, reasonably priced, and through. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean and orderly. As my usual shop is located about 15 miles from where I live I will probably be stopping in here again the next time my car needs some attention.

Had them replace my vehicle engine. We agreed on a price and timeline. The cost exceeded price given and they exceeded timelineOnce I picked up vehicle, within 3 minutes of driving the vehicles check engine light came on. Immediately contacted 1st performance, they asked me to return vehicle. After they checked it, stated a “sensor” on engine they installed bad- and it will cost me over $1000 to repair Needlessly to say, I’m in process of lawsuitIn my opinion, I wouldn’t recommend them for anything

Took my Chrysler town and country there on AAA recommendation. People were nice, but charged me $100 even though they were unable to diagnose the problem.They said I should take it to a dealer as they thought it may be an ECM failure, but were not sure. I called around town to other shops and was made aware of place called TRS electrical on silver star where I ended up having my van towed to and they found that it was the wiring harness that needed to be repaired. It was NOT an ECM failure at all. When I told them where I was having it towed to the owner told me he didnt think TRS could handle the problem which I had already called TRS they confirmed they could if it was an ECM failure.Dont waste your time or money here, there are no AAA discounts apparently either.While I was waiting for my van to be towed, the guy left and apparently got into a car accident on his way to lunch. I call that karma. Hope guy was not hurt, but he must have been ok because he called the shop to tell his son about the accident.Edit: it was Sheeler Auto who recommended TRS, not FPA.Shouldnt have to pay for a diagnosis that wasnt diagnosed.

First Performance saved my car! My engine blew up on a major highway in north Florida. I had my car towed to a local dealership who wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to fix it. I get my car serviced at First Performance and called them to see about repairing it the engine. They said they could take care of getting my car back to Apopka and check it out to see what the problem is and what they needed to do to fix it. Unfortunately, I needed a new engine but I was FORTUNATE to have experienced people work on my car. The service was quick and efficient and I am driving an almost new car thanks to First Performance!!!

If you want it done right .. dont take it to them. They couldnt even get my alignment right (and the machine does most of the work). dont waste your time.

Great friendly honest service, More than I expected from just getting a price quote for a tune up. I usually dont shop around much but was on a tight budget and am very happy with my choice. I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid R/T and not many shops have domestic, imports and classic muscle cars being serviced 90% of time . When I spoke with rob I told him I only just want the tune up and nothing else he gave me a quote of $169.00 dollars which I thought was awsome considering the fact that i was getting prices like $289.00 dollars; packaged with other things i dont need from the other shops in the area . At this point rob and his certified technicians have earned my trust so I left my car to have the work done . They called me about 1hour and 30 minutes later and told me the vehicle was done. I went inside paid, and drove away. They did not hassle me or tell me my car would blow up if I did not get ….. done. It was actually a very pleasant experience; they even showed me the old parts that came off the car when I asked to see them . I would highly recommend them for any vehicle repair and maintenance they exceeded my expectation and earned my future bussiness .

The owner is totally unprofessional. Literally called me to remove my rating lol (Which is fair). Long story short, the gave me a bs diagnostic that I had another mechanic look @. He looked me in the eyes and laugh and said I hope you didnt really pay for this. This mechanic came to my house personally checked out my car and found the problem instantaneously saying it was nothing that they wrote on the diagnostic. Now Im getting it fixed for half the price by a mechanic that specializes in my type of car. Oh, and Im willing to bet that the owner rob will comment on my post saying Im delusional or something along the lines of that, just like his done with all the other poor reviews his gotten. Now tell me, is that proper business professionalism?

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!! BAD Business, Very poor work, Does Not Honor warranty or shotty work. Took Jeep back 3 times after initial repair was done for same issue, refused to listen to me the customer telling him what and where the issue was. Paid for another repair that the owner said would fix the issue...which I knew would not...and problem was still there. Took to another shop the 4th time for second opinion, only to be told what I already knew to be the problem. I was correct the whole time about what and where the issue is. Also complained of another issue I was having, also a repair that was done by this shop, and owner pretty much blew smoke by saying it was fine, nothing wrong all checked out great and to still have same issue...which by the way the other shop found the issue and with a minor adjustment it was fixed and they did it for free! Seems like they never want to honor warranty work and fix your issue just tell you its not that its this and pay more only to have the same problem. So im out my money but dont make the same mistake. There is so much more to say!

So AAA recommended this location to me over the phone after waking up and finding my car wouldnt shift out of Neutral, as my automatic car was literally stuck in Neutral like it was in park, but luckily I wasnt on an incline that my car didnt move.Towed to this location. I was hesitant because it was small, and not busy, and one mechanic. I have had great experiences with Mom & Pop shops and small businesses, but also have had the WORSE from them as well.So they jack up my car, and the guy shows me some things that needed to be done. I examined it with him, and he knew right away as did the tow truck driver what needed to be done.So I was told it would be done by 12/1:30ish. I went home, and what concerns me is this. I got a phone call from them telling me they got the part but GM didnt tell them they needed to get an additional part as well for my part they were replacing. So they had to have GM deliver them this component to finish the job. Mind you he looked up the labor cost to replace this part on my car. So now he quoted me a higher price than what was quoted before to finish this job. Thats my issue.A business should know its prices based on a chart and GMs labor book on parts and labor. I am not new to this business and I am fully informed and aware of what most parts cost to replace in MY vehicle. Heck I have the PDF on my computer so I know the round about cost and if I am being ripped off.Lastly a mechanic should know the parts needed to do the job. Its not GMs responsibility to know what you need and what you already have in stock. They merely deliver what you ask for. Its the shops responsibility to purchase and mention what it is you want them to bring to you. By not doing this I wasnt able to pick up my car until 15 minutes before you closed, and paid additional costs which was in all honesty a costs I wasnt expecting and any other person hard up for cash, would see this as a hidden or blind costs and would be more upset than myself.Now I will say this, they were not rude, they were friendly. I got a call from another mechanic shop checking on the transmission they replaced as a courtesy call or follow up call. I almost went there but decided against it since this was a new business for me and I was stuck there. No since in re-towing it right? The car has had no locking up since they did the repair. I cant say they have space for waiting for the work to be done if any long waits. You may wanna get a cab/Uber or have a friend pick you up and bring you back if possible. Also they will install your items you purchased for your car for you but they will not warranty the part obviously for obvious reasons. What they will charge for this I have no clue.My biggest reason for this rating is the not knowing they needed to order a 2nd part and slapping me with additional costs to do what they already quoted me. The reason for this is because if you already started the work, and nearly done but cant because you the business didnt know you didnt order all the parts, that would leave someone out of a car for extended periods of time, and if the additional costs wasnt affordable, now you wasted their time, and money, and possibly left with no car. This is a HUGE fear factor.I may give them a 2nd chance but we will see.

Had a good experience with a repair that only took about one half of a day. Others had wanted to keep my car overnight. Might be the place to go if you have or like classic cars too. Get a AAA discount as well.

I found out about 1st Performance through the Apopka Chamber. I became acquaintances with Rob, the owner, in 2010. My Honda Civic 2008 didnt need any work. Ive been getting my oil change there. A few months ago (3/2015) my car started stalling, brought it in to him and his crew they said it was the relay, they fixed it and I was on my way. Brought it to him again yesterday (7/2015), the car was making a whirr noise, I call them the car Drs because they used an actual stethoscope on my cars wheel bearings to find one was busted, they swapped it out for a new one, the car drives silent again, Thanx 1st Performnce!!!

This buisness is run by at least one REALLY UNCOOL dude & at least 2 SPACE CADETS who have no problem with leaving chunks of wood (brightly spray painted door props) accidentally in engine compartments that sabotage frugal travellers and then accept no responsibility. NIGHTMARE NEGLIGENCE - SERIOUSLY these guys almost ruined my 1968 gmc handi-bus and didnt care AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!
