Absolutely love coming here... Between their superior beer selection to a lot of other places around because of their unique offerings, and their grass-fed meats this place is tops. They also have a great selection of supplements and well-being products. Anytime were in Ann Arbor we always stop by, The staff is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile. prices are always in line with just about everybody else and never have to worry about being overcharged.
Friendly and healthy local market that has a great variety and delicious products. Switched from Plum Market and couldnt be happier. Thank you to everyone I see working there- you are very appreciated!
Great selection of organic and local products. Rather pricey but most organic foods are. Very friendly staff.
A true jewel of Ann Arbor. Amazing employee in the vitamin dept. cant remember her name, but what knowledge. The refrigerated probiotics for my stomach have worked and I feel great. When in doubt go to Arbor Farms.
This grocery store is a specialty grocery store and it sure delivers on that. Youll be able to find things here that you wont find elsewhere and you can always have the comfort of knowing everythings organic. The staff also seems pretty happy and very helpful and courteous... but the only problem I have with them is they tend to upcharge on a lot of things for seemingly no reason. My take is that if your items can be found in another grocery store, you need to at least be competitive to the most expensive competitor... in which they are not. Now... if theyre the only people that carries it, whatever... but theres gotta be some sense of good and competitive business here.
Stay away unless you want to get food poisoning. Their salad bar is contaminated with salmonella! Go to Whole Foods or any other grocery stores instead! Terrible!
Great selection of local bread, meat, beer, coffee and national brand products. Could use more local vegetables considering large local farming community.
They do a great job of stocking local products and have the largest local selection I have seen A2. However, they do a very poor job of removing expired products from their shelves so be careful and read expiration dates before purchasing! They should donate more sell by food to Food Gatherers or a similar organization.
Arbor Farms is a local grocer with a health foods focus. You can find many national brands as well as many local products. There is a cafe and prepared foods as well. Its very pricey and theres a pretentious air about the place (most customer service Ive received had been poor in this direction). The atmosphere and the prices keep me mostly shopping elsewhere.
The supplement section was destroyed by a nutjob they hired to replace the extremely knowledgeable staff that were there for years that they should hire back. The girl who is there is trying her best but she was left with a disaster. Please hire back the staff you had, admit you ruined the supplement isle, and make it thrive again. You lost a ton of customers to plummarket.
If you’re a fan of Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, or AJ’s; you’ll certainly enjoy this place!
Every single time Ive purchased produce from this store, it has been old or moldy. I believe they should hire a new produce manager, or compel the one they have to write off and dispose of old produce more quickly. It could have something to do with the very old and cranky owner, (types like this are usually extremely averse to throwing anything away) who was rude to me in the store. The workers are great and underpaid.
My favorite store in Michigan... Local, organic, grass fed, pasture based, environment friendly.
Fairly new to Ann Arbor, I started shopping at Arbor Farms in March of 2020 (after covid hit) because they offered senior hours from 7:00-10:00 am every day. They give seniors a discount during those hours and all day on Tuesday. They have excellent vegan selections and organic fruits and vegetables (along with non-organic if you prefer). The produce is always fresh and well stocked. Customers wear masks (as requested) and respect social distancing. It is not a huge store, but they have everything I need at reasonable (but not bargain) prices, that are easy to find. The staff is always pleasant and helpful.
I wish I lived closer but treat myself to going to Arbor Farms often while visiting Ann Arbor. Im just in Ypsilanti but its a little far to be my normal grocery store. I love how theyve expanded and just really enjoy the food gathering and buying expirence.
January 20. 2021 at 5:45 PM.#001-004 RebPoor customer service . I was very disappointed with the cashier. Not friendly at all, no greetings, no questions and when I asked a question she seems unhappy to answer. Nice store, good products high prices, but that was not a big deal...the face of a business should be friendly and welcoming. that was not the case here
It’s just the best place for quality, natural and healthy food.
A locally owned market w a good selection of items.
A great selection of vegan & healthy food options!
Greatest beer selection in the area!
I love Arbor Farms Market. Its single store operation with a nice variety of natural and organic products. Because theyre not a big corporate store some prices can be slightly higher, but they have excellent customer service and its a great place to specialty products. Some of my favorite products: calder dairy line, light mountain henna hair dye, Matts small batch fig bars, and many others. They also expanded the store not too long ago to have a beautiful prepared food section, carry local products like Michigan turkeys, arbor teas, and zingermans bread! Love this shop.
You can find great organic produce and health and beauty aides here and they have a great deli. Just so you know the management did not require cashiers to wear masks until May 2020. So it is disingenuous and hypocritical for them to post a sign now requiring masks . I am sure by this action they spread Covid-19!
Really great place but its definitely on the expensive side.
Happy to find my dairy free, soy free frozen dessert salted caramel and chocolate bars! Masks and social distancing observed and asked for. Love their veggies! Freshest around!
Arbor Farms Market is a great place to work and shop.
Good selection of hard to find ìtems like goat 🐐 butter
Best grocery store in A2. Great deli. Great beer and wine. Carries a wide variety of products.
Every time I go shopping here something I buy is expired by months or years. No ones checking the dates on their products! Do not shop here!
Fantastic selection of grass fed meat and bones, for broth.
I really love this place but its biggest downfall is keeping up with expiration dates. There have been several times thats Ive purchased something and realized it was expired. Most recently I purchased almond milk that was sour immediately after opening because it was expired. Its very disappointing. Im not going to stop shopping here but Ill definitely be more mindful of the expiration on things.
Local and organic produce and quality meats. Large selection of natural remedies and health and beauty products. Large deli section with dining area. Experienced, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Arbor Farms is an established quality local business, right up there with Stadium Hardware as a go to shopping destination for Ann Arbors west side. Arbor Farms was here before Whole Foods and Plum Market and is still going strong which should tell you something!
My go to lunch place. Great homemade soups and the salad bar is organic! The best around. The lentil loaf with vegan gravy in the deli is great as is their slaw. The grocery has wonderful produce. The jewel yams are the best I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth!I guess you can tell I like this place😁
Great organic food selections. Very clean store and helpful staff.
I have a service animal, and have been asked by the workers to not come in with my dog. I would not come here they dont appreciate customers. I am special needs and need my dog.
Fresh healthy food and some very nice staff. It’s always been a really good experience for me when shopping here. They have a large variety of healthy/organic food items, an extensive inventory of nutritional supplements and vast selection of herbs also.
Great premade food selection! Enjoy stopping in for a bite to eat.
This place is a little expensive and sometimes they have good sales. All the staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. I have been able to speak to some of the distributors or people who make and sell the products there which was wonderful. Plus they have an awesome variety of Gluten Free items and are clearly labeled on the shelf. I wish they were a little less expensive but I Love this place.
Really beautiful store and prices are very reasonable for Ann Arbor. Salad bar and new hot bar with vegan options. Nice bulk foods section . Its worth a trip.
What Whole Foods used to be: a little quirk, a lot of local, some things very reasonable, some things (like produce) are incredibly expensive. Lots of local meat/dairy options. Solid bulk section, including Frontier spices.
Janet, has the very best customer service. Will be coming back and bringing friends/family😊
Fresh food, frozen food, canned food, body products, face products, household products, pet products.Friendly serviceHave you received Jesus Christ as your savior? If you have, congratulations. If not, find a King James Version Bible (only) believing church, and attend regularly to hear the gospel message.
My recent visit was my first experience with Arbor Farms. It struck me as a more expensive whole foods with less inventory. I went in to get a cake for someone on short notice. The cake was good but it was really expensive. We also got a couple sandwiches while we were there from the deli. The sandwiches took about 15 minutes to make and were way overpriced. The guy who made them seemed really disappointed that he had to work and his co-worker didnt assist him at all. The sandwiches werent any good. I didnt even finish mine and that is rare, even for sub par food. Wont be making any return trips and I consider the $50 I spent to be a valuable lesson in being more careful where I shop.
Cool store, great beer and wine selection!
Friendly and helpful staffVariety of vegan options
I love this market! We had lunch here! The food is organic, fresh and delicious! They have a organic salad bar. They have a food market as well as a café.
Love this place.
Outstanding prepared foods including salad bar and soups! Helpful crew, especially cashiers and counter folks. Organic fresh foods. A bit pricey on items available at other stores, but this is my go -to store for fresh deli items and take- home meals. Senior discount on Tuesdays.
Lots of organic. Lots of local items. Beautiful produce. And what I like most: spices you won’t find at other area grocery stores.
Arbor Farms has long been known for its viramins, health products & health foods. Im pleased they have such a solid meat section. Their produce has shrunk to the minimum but I love their seafood counter & expanded prepared foods. I miss some selections they used to have like fried & seasoned tofu cubes. They seem to be migrating to fewer prepared foods from their kitchen which I dont like. All in all its a good store & Im a frequent shopper.
Its usually excellent! I only went to their neighbours ACE store which was also amazing.Today was free vegetables seed @ACE
The best grocery store in Ann Arbor. The recent update to the store really elevated everything. The beer selection is top notch and is greatly appreciated. The hot foods are wonderful - try the salmon and the chicken. Dont forget to try the arugula pesto, so good and decently priced. Also, Zingermans bagels and Avalon bread. We are so lucky....
We have been customers here for years. Bring bottles to return, and meet an asian new staff which refuses to take bottles. It’s because he said no counting machines while already counted. Well, I have brought lots of times, and other staff took it. Is that a reasonable explanation for customer services?
Great store. Workers are very friendly and helpful. Wish they would get A2 dairy products though.
Arbor farms used to be great. Staff was nice, prices were a little high but affordable and food was fresh and yummy. But since the expansion and the new ownership Im afraid theyve become a bottom line kind of place. I dont like the way I see rude management treat employees. And Im not impressed with the expansion. Its also painfully obvious that they jacked their prices way up since expanding and are trying to act like they are suddenly an upscale grocery store. Arbor Farms used to be the easy going middle class hippie market, that was its charm. Now they have nothing to set them apart from whole foods or plum market or any other store that carries organic products, except the price tag of course which is actually more expensive then the other stores I mentioned. So so sad. The only reason Im giving it two stars is because the cashiers and cafe workers are nice people who really want you to have a good experience.
Good Ann Arbor store, offering healthy choices. Not part of a chain.
Arbor farms market is a wonderful family friendly grocery store. They are a family owned business that sells natural and organic products. I always have enjoyed shopping there and highly recommend visiting the store whether its to just stop in and check out their recent expansion or try some of their amazing deli food which is all made in house everyday!
Arbor Farms is an Ann Arbor original. My favorite store hands down, ample parking, friendly customer service always so helpful. If you havent been to Arbor Farms I suggest you do so you will be pleasantly surprised.
I go there for lunch. They have great soups, salad bar, smoothies, make great sandwiches. If your looking for a place to eat healthy and at a good price, this is the place to go to.
Did not find my favorite brand of milk SuperNatural I guess they dont carry it any more.
This is a nice place to pick up some essentials. They have some nice skin care products and personal care products. I am not sure if they carry contact lens cleanser or cleaning cloths for eyeglasses but the staff is normally happy to help if you have a question. They have pet care products. You will also find earth friendly household cleaning products for your cleaning needs. It would also be pleasant for a meal. They also have a full selection of groceries, beer and wine. I did not notice any liquor but they may have liquor available if thats what you seek.
I bet on the expensive side but they have a nice selection and quality products
This is my favorite place in Ann Arbor. Local groceries, good quality, big selection, excellent sandwich bar, coffee shop, and a soup/salad/hot food bar!
The veggies are always fresh. I love all the organic healthful grocery options. They have a wide range of choices, and all are quality products. I come here at least 2 or 3 days a week. I sometimes get the saladbar. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Great selection for high quality foods
Best organic produce section in A2 -- yes, even better than Whole Foods. Parking is easy, and its next door to the wonderful Ace Barnes Hardware. Produce Station operates seasonal pop-up markets for gardens and the holidays.Back to Arbor Farms -- good deli with grab-n-go selections including shrimp cocktail, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Also a wide variety of wines, including organic. Luxury items including Italian truffle butter (my current addiction). Zingermans, Avalon, and other scrumptious baked goods.Locally owned, and they promote locally sourced items with in-store advertising. It doesnt have the panache of Whole Foods or Plum Market, but I enjoy shopping here a lot more. Friendly service and competitive prices. #8 bus stop at entrance to parking lot.
Good local bread and fresh food. Good wine selection and Michigan jams.
Pricey, but have a nice variety of things. Many unusual items you cant find anywhere else and their hard cider selection is HUGE!
Huge variety of natural foods. Bright and welcoming. Fantastic deli section with deserts.
I asked the clerk if the store carried aioli. He didnt know what it was so he went back to stocking. Ill have to try to find it somewhere else.
Great products*, prices, friendly and helpful staff... *some of the Best produce I have Ever had!
Yikes. So overpriced! And almost nothing is on sale-- give me some options! I went in there to grab a bunch of stuff and left with like 3 items.
Great local supermarket with very fresh produce and a wide selection of packages and goods. Best place to shop at affordable prices.
Cheaper than whole foods for most stuff. The staff is usually very helpful. It has that comforting health food store smell when you walk in. Excellent bulk section.
The staff are always helpful and pleasant. Their food is delicious and healthy. My only complaint is the prices are high on a lot of the items. However, some things that you would expect to be high are cheap. I 💙 that they donate to the community.
We love Arbor Farms they are the best. The staff is very friendly and their selection of grocery items is vast and amazing. I love when their patio is open in Spring/Summer time!
I work here. It is an amazing company to work for!
The best place to shop locally for locally raised produce and meat. They even have grass fed beef liver, organ meats, and things no one else has. Top notch.
Always great. Smoothies could use more green smoothies as theyre pretty sugary, but overall 5 stars for everything.
Amazing local produce. Got a fresh turkey preordered for thanksgiving! Everyone couldn’t believe how good it was. Great local service
Such a great little store with yummy healthy selections. All organic salad bar, amazing deli foods, fresh made sandwiches and truly inventive soups that change daily.Anna who works the register is always kind and talkative! We love it there.
I havent liked this place since it moved from down the street next to Key Bank. It was small but a nice place with good stuff and very friendly employees. The owner however sucked! Ever since the move everything became over priced. I rarely bought anything after that and all those friendly employees that once were were now replaced with rude unhelpful people I couldnt stand. As I understand it a couple of years ago he sold the place and it has gotten much worse which is hard to imagine. I would avoid it.
I have shopped here for years now and really enjoy watching this store expand and grow with its ongoing success. The meat section is excellent, always stocked with grass-fed beef and natural poultry and at a significantly lower price than either Plum Mkt or Whole Foods. You will see the same cashiers and deli folks working the counters for a long time, very little turnover. There recent expansion allows for a more expansive deli selection, and a great coffee bar. I cant say enough good things about these folks, a true local business that supports local farmers.
This place has a great selection of organic foods. I like shopping here from time to time just to get inspiration for meals. Arbor Farms Market is a wonderful change of pace from the typical brick and mortar chain grocery stores.
I really love the quality and the helpfulness of the staff. They have a very interesting beer selection with nice make your own six pack wall. But I often feel they are over priced on many items.
Love shopping here. It is the most affordable of the organic markets. It is clean, the staff is kind and they have a wide variety of products without it being overwhelmingly big.
Great coffee bar
Nice heath food selection
I love getting produce here despite their price being on higher side as compared to other groceries supermarket. Most of their produce are fresh and well stocked.A good variety of packed ready meals as well as a hot bar area.
Really nice place. If your shopping. If you are delivering, well...... Im sorry
The manager was very rude to my sick and disabled friend as she attempted to exchange an unopened supplement that I just purchased for her a couple of hours before. I used to regularly purchase significant amounts of products for her snd her family at this store but I cant support that behavior and will be taking future business elsewhere. One star is being generous.
My home away from home. So much better than Whole Foods, or the co-op (sorry, its true). Great staff, delicious and affordable deli, all the supplements, plus craft beer and bulk foods.
My favorite grocer in town. Their deli is great, their produce is great, their staff is super kind. Good products, and supportive of local businesses and farmers.
Fantastic place, love that products are from local farms and families, always willing to support this cause. Chicken salad at the food bar is amazing - we get it every time!
A beautiful, well-stocked place. I love their selection of by-the-pound items (including fresh food), their one-portion cheeses, and the piles and piles of fresh fruit and veggies. They never strike me as cheap, but I also dont feel like Im getting swindled here.
Great selection of local, ethical, healthy food for all tastes. Their meats are almost all from farms that gave humane practices. Their prepared foods, especially soups, are delicious. The prices are a little higher than the ordinary grocery store but youre getting far superior produce and quality.
Very cute little market with many organic options. Friendly staff and clean bright space. Gotta stop in anytime Im passing through Ann Arbor!
An excellent farmers market with a fine selection of cheeses, wine, and fresh-made desserts and sandwiches.
I love going here to buy spices! They have about 40 different ones in containers and you put how much you want in the small bags they provide. They are priced by the ounce.
