My all time favorite coffee shop! I love the avocado 🥑 toast and polar caps! The best part is that their polar caps only have 4 ingredients. No unneeded junk in the food and drinks here!
I love this place! Try their tuna melt; it is delicious. If youre ever under a rainy day and just need a cup of hot water, the staff will provide it for free! Amazing service and top notch drinks. On top of that the environment is quite cozy and comfortable. Many students like me go there just to study! 5/5 would recommend
Store Manager Lauren is the BEST! I find it amazing how in this high volume U of M campus shop, she memorizes the regulars drinks! And, she has a knack for making you feel very welcome like a member of a special coffee club. I hate to go anywhere else for my daily brew!
Fast service despite often being busy, lots of seating, plus not bad prices. I love the vegan zucchini bread! Sometimes the tables and bar area are a bit dirty though, but its normally not much of a problem
The updates are great! Drinks are really good and there’s a ton of space. The hot chocolate is amazing! The only reason this isn’t a 5-star review is the putrid stench belching from the lower level restrooms. There is a truly horrific odor of stale urine pouring forth from the bathrooms that resembles the acrid smoke that pours from Hades itself. Please bleach, scour, disinfect and sanitize these foul dungeons as soon as possible! Review will be updated when the restroom area ceases to smell like a cesspit at the bottom of the Pit of Despair!
I like Espresso Royale coffee. I can go fancy, but usually I just opt for a regular coffee (I like their dark roasts). Bring your own mug for a great discount that supports your wallet and the environment. The one reason I wouldnt give five stars for this coffee shop is because their wifi is really inferior. Its not to be trusted for a latte-fueled research session. For that reason, I only hang out here when I just want to read or have a conversation. Its good for doing so, however, because theres a basement level with booths, tables, and eclectic chairs. One thing I most enjoy about this location is the baristas. Ive never come in and not gotten a really sincere, warm greeting. I used to work service and know how hard it can be, and what it means to give that part of your self to the customer every day. I really appreciate it.
Affordable coffee shop right by East Hall, on South University avenue. You must try their $2 latte Wednesdays. Great place to sit and work, although tends to get busy and loud on weekdays when school is in session. Can grab a quick bite too.
Espresso Royale has one of my favorite dark coffees. You can’t find something like Kitale anywhere else.
Nice coffee shop that provides Starbucks with some much-needed competition. They have lots of specialty drinks, and an impressive selection of teas. While seating appears limited at first glance, there is actually a whole basement area devoted to cozy seating arrangements. Great place to stop by for coffee on central campus.
Decent coffee shop in the middle of campus. Drinks are great, but mostly priced higher than neighboring venues. It can get quite difficult to find a spot to sit and enjoy your beverage, so you might have to take your coffee to go. Their wifi is slow and somewhat spotty and can shut down completely for long stretches of time. That said, if you need to study at a coffee shop, this one is the best around.
Great prices for a ton of coffee. They dont over ice their drinks and the coffee is delicious. Not too sweet and the flavors dont overpower the coffee taste. The sizes are larger than youd expect.
Try the Varone bean, ground fresh and brewed Pour Over or French Press. Whole beans on sale every Friday
Great coffee, easily better than any of the major coffee chains. Tons of seating if youre looking for a place to study. The pastries are decent, but not good enough to draw me in just for those.
Great coffee. Refill your own tumbler for $1.50
Had a bourbon coffee drink and it tasted like it had booze in it yet had no booze. Gave it to a guy on the street, hope he enjoyed it more than me
Not noteworthy as great coffee, but it satisfies needs for caffeine and they have a good selection of drinks and snacks. They have great specials on a calendar basis, and support local events. It was a regular stop for me while I was working at UM. This location is slightly more modern, but also smaller than the main street location.
Good little coffee shop in a great place to hang out and do some studying. can go in the basement for some extra seating.
The employees are awesome and their recommendations are so on point. Honestly one of my favorite places to do some laid back studying on Friday and Saturday nights. Highly recommend the Spanish Latte :)))
Often college coffee houses will sell a sad cup of coffee to students who do not know any better. This could not be less the case. Their espresso is rich and smooth with a nutty finish. Truly a good cup of coffee
Would be five, but I havent experienced it enough. It has delicious strawberry lemonade though.
Perfect location on campus. Amazing beverages and awesome staff and would love to tip them more except some of the beverages are a bit expensive. Knock it down a tad and beat The competition.
Iced mocha no whip is so refreshing, best in A2.
Love this place.. Great service
Decent campus coffeeshop. They had some interesting Bourbon barrel aged roasts last time I was here, one of which I tried and enjoyed.
Love the Bourbon barrel coffee. Especially as a caramel mocha
Big fan of the house brews. Pastries are good but a bit too expensive. Staff is always helpful though. I am certainly a repeat customer.
Good but I think anyone who made peanut butter bar, do not eat that. Too much salt...
Quick service, convenient location, plenty of seating
Nice place. Fair prices. Good for meetings.
Coffee is good and it is a great place to study!
Good location for meet ups. Drinks expectedly overpriced, but the Italian and French sodas are reasonable. They were out of soda water today, so I tried a ginger dragon. Not worth it.
Ginger dragon is consistently delicious. Atmosphere needs a make over. Location is great.
Exceptional coffee drinks. We just discovered this place, but we will be back.
One of the best places to get a cup of joe in A2
Love the baked goods especially but also excellent coffee. This location has some upstairs and basement seating.
Always enjoy that ERC.Less frequented than the one on State St, or the Starbucks on the same street. Can be noisily! Of course coffee are not cheap but Whatev.Staff is great and very efficient. Place is always clean.4 stars because not family / baby friendly (Changing table in the toilet...).
Cute bar/brewery. I only had one drink, the Fuego del Otono. It was a sour, and tasted amazing! They had a small 5 ounce size so I had a couple. It was the right amount of sour and was not too hoppy. SiE was perfect small size for light weights haha.
Although the coffee is a bit less delicious than Starbucks but I appreciate their speed and outdoor seating.
The drip coffee is good and I really like the banana bread. However, the lattes are subpar. I do not believe that the baristas are correctly taught how to steam milk because everytime I get a latte here the milk tastes like it was microwaved rather than steamed. Customer service is mediocre at best
Coffee Shop - Good place to sit back and relax. With a wide range of coffees and laid back atmosphere, it is a popular choice among locals.
Decent coffee close to campus. As little pricier than campus coffee stands but cheaper than Starbucks. Tables are close to the door, which makes for a chilly morning coffee
It doesnt smell very nice in there, and after a while in there your clothes then smell like it. Their coffee is a lot below what you would expect from a coffee shop. They seem to burn the bean while making coffee.
Quick service, good place to sit inside or outside, love their real homemade chai tea (not from a syrup!) and the scones. The herbal tea selection is also great (I generally avoid caffeine though I love the chai) - highly recommend the Egyptian chamomile, so fragrant and full of whole flowers.
Math + espresso = Heaven on earth? Pretty close at least, right next to the Math Dept in East hall.
Campus corner coffee shop provides a nice ambiance with plenty of variety for beverages and light food options. The WiFi is free for the patrons as well which is a nice touch. Very busy but the service staff is generally helpful and the drinks are usually well made.
Good study space but its too small for the demand
Good coffee, good study spot. Espresso machine could be quieter though.
I had the best coffee of my life here. A Spanish latte with almond. I commend the staff for suggesting it.
Favorite campus coffee location. Always hot and ready fresh brews with a counter full off condiments.
Great staff and pastries. The vibe is quiet and soothing.
Good beverages, very fast service, reasonable price.
Tasty coffee. Nice atmosphere
Great coffee and tea. $2.00 latte Wednesdays are awesome!
Both my coffee and bagel were just okay. Many better options close by.
Good coffee, great location and good prices!
They call themselves a best coffee shop in town. They are wrong. Ordered latte medium size. My God, what I got is mere white coffee with 1-2 mm milk foam. Medium size is like huge. Crowdy inside. Arm chair by the window is torn. Table is shaky. Prices are high. Muffin is below average even by american standards. Highly not recommended. I miss French or Italian coffee shops (((
They have the best chicken salad sandwich in town!
Great coffee and wonderful people.
Good quality coffee for a reasonable price. The space is often crowded and loud, and can sometimes be a bit dirty, but overall it gets the job done!
A little pricy, but everything in the area is. Nice healthy options, great smoothies!
Great ginger dragon tea and coffee
Good coffee, good muffins, good location. Gets crowded during the school year.
Yummy hot chocolate!
Very friendly place, reasonable prices, good coffee and tea options.
Good coffee for a good price, and the flocktag deal is great.
Good place for a study meeting
Great place to study. the underground room is great.
The seven layer bars are awesome
This is my fav of the 3 downtown ann arbor locations because of the gender neutral bathrooms. Thank you!
Decent prices, decent coffee, but the bathroom was a horror show!!
Good waitstaff and good coffee.
Great avocado toast!
Drip coffee is good.
Good coffee and friendly service
Staff is pretty good, coffee is ok...busy
Pleasant staff and good coffee
Good coffee and snacks.
Fine place for lattes, working.
The best coffee around for the price
Coffee isnt good, nor is food, everything is just ok. The only thing this place really has going for it is location.
Worst coffee in Ann Arbor. The girl at front counter is on drugs.. doesnt know what customer service means
Nice coffee nice people
Love their Wednesday latte promotion!
Great coffee, cozy place
Get an espresso, get a tea. It all works for you and me.
WiFi sucks...service was meh. 2.50 for a cup of Joe. Ill stick to Starbucks thanks
My go to coffee spot. Rotating brew selection from all over the world
Friendly people, great choice of teas.
Good place for a coffee and meeting
Good place to study
Any size latte every Wednesday $2.50
Great coffee
Great tea and muffins
Great coffee, great prices!
Espresso Royale < Berts Cafe in Ugli
Yummy
They have yerba mate, enough said
