Hit or miss. I had my first coffee there many weeks ago and would give it a big thumbs up, which is why I went back for a second time and that time, a thumbs down. First coffee was hot and rich and tasty (a decaf cappuccino) the second a pumpkin latte which sounded divine on the menu but lacked flavour and it was lukewarm.

Great shop, drinks are always excellent. Also has some good outdoor seating to do some work.

Such a wonderful little coffee shop with perfect outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The seasonal/special lattes help make this my favorite coffee shop in the area.

Excellent staff and baristas, if you go enough they may even start to remember you.Inside of the cafe is very clean and sleek, their focus on sustainability is very present too. In many ways I believe this provides a better experience due to the higher quqlity/sustainable items they use for service.Thor whole bean coffees are fresh and roasted locally, and are a reasonable price for those of us who choose to grind it at home.Their baked goods are usually local too.

I asked for their local honey oat milk latte, and wow! Yum. The honey was present but didn’t over power. I loved the vibe and the covid precautions felt very safe.

So excited that this place opened up where Mighty Good used to be! The interior is beautiful and makes a really lovely place to read or work. The space is cozy, but because of its smaller size, I imagine that it will fill up quickly during busier times.The staff were very friendly, and the latte art on each drink was GORGEOUS. Unfortunately, the espresso tasted pretty sour (may have been under-extracted?), but I’m not sure if that was normal or just a one-time thing. Plus this coffee shop has also only been open for a month, so Im sure theyll only improve from here!

Nice space with lots of windows and a good view of the surrounding neighborhood. Cozy for hanging out or doing work. I like that they have flights which include mini lattes, mochas and more. Solid coffee.I was disappointed that they had only two types of beans by the ounce available on the day of my visit and the price point is similar to zingermans which makes it hard to justify buying at Vertex. Also, the baristas, while not quite rude, seemed very unfriendly and disinterested in the customers.

Coffee is great, a wide choice of different options and sizes, staff is very friendly.

What a disappointment. A cortado that looked like a small watery brew with milk. No design. No concern. Too bad. Pastry was bland. Miss my Grand Rapids cortado at Madcap. Always perfect.

VERY impressed with the consistency and quality of this little shop. I stayed right down the road this summer and was so grateful to have a place to get a quality cup of coffee. Their beans are also top notch and rival some of the other big dogs in Michigan.

Absolutely my favorite coffee shop in Ann Arbor, and Ive been to just about all of them. Very cute place with outdoor seating. Social distancing is implemented nicely here, and the staff are very cognisant of sanitizing and avoiding contact. I think all their paper products are compostable, which is also awesome. And the coffee and pastries are delicious. They also sell their coffee beans, and theyre incredible. Id give them 6/5 is that was possible.

Vertex is one of, if not my favorite coffee shop in Ann Arbor. The workers are very friendly and make great espresso drinks. The atmosphere is casual and trendy, making it a great place to work or get a cup of coffee with a friend. They also have great pastries, shout-out Sugar Beet Bakery!

Ordered a flat white; beautiful coffee! In terms of flavour and texture especially, one of the best in Ann Arbor that Ive had so far. Atmospheres very pleasant and clean, its a nice harmony of open space and a cozy atmosphere, and (at least one of) the owners seem very friendly.I recently applied for a job here along with the coffee purchase, but unfortunately I had to get to an appointment so I got takeaway. The coffee was genuinely very nice, so I felt that I should leave some positive feedback. :) There was a bit too much foam for a flat white, (Id say it was more like a latte) but the texture was very creamy; milk was clearly mixed very well. I think Id describe the flavour as something along the lines of hazelnut. No burnt or sour taste whatsoever, noticeably strong flavour and a nice aftertaste, especially considering the size of the cup.

This place has been on my list for awhile and I finally made it over before they closed! I got a simple iced latte that met expectations.I also wanted to buy beans, but unfortunately they were sold out; I was told they roast on Mondays and its best to order online. However, I asked the barista for a recommendation between two beans and was told I should just read the descriptions and decide which one suits me best. Its decent advice but I was hoping for an opinion or something to help me make a decision.Overall, unless this place is convenient for you to get to, I cant see making a special trip here just to buy coffee. While their prepared coffee is okay, if youre looking to buy beans, its best to do that online & the baristas may or may not be able to help you with any recommendations.

Vertex has great coffee but more importantly, their staff is super friendly and helpful and they really try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. At Vertex there is also a neighborhood library box and lots of magazines/games that you can use while youre sitting! Overall a great shop. The quality of the coffee and the people keep me coming back.

So I dont drink coffee, but this is a good coffee shop with reasonable prices, and apparently espressos are good. Functionally, a lot of meetings happen in coffee shops, and on a nice day, Vertex is perfect for that. Its close enough to UM that its an easy walk, and the outside space is generally pretty quiet. Inside is very tight, so I wouldnt use it as a meeting space when its colder because of the preponderance of students studying there. Overall, great coffee shop.

Best coffee in Ann Arbor— lattes are perfect, espresso is perfect. It doesn’t get better than this. Paired with a warm and welcoming staff, Vertex brings community back into the coffee shop environment.

Its really cute but very expensive for the amount of coffee you get. I got a chai latte and it was good at first but then tasted very watered down after I got past the cinnamon/whipped cream on top.

Well its a tight space the quality of the coffee as well as engaging staff make up for it.

Solid drinks, solid atmosphere, friendly staff. I like how they decorated the space and really appreciate their focus on environmental sustainability. I ordered the sweetie flight: mocha, spiced mocha, and a miel. The miel was my favorite! The mochas were a bit light on chocolate, but they are still getting the ratios down for the smaller size drink. You also pay for each drink individually, which was not immediately clear from the wording on the menu. A good experience all around; I will return!
