I had a fantastic experience buying makeup for my wedding here! I was having trouble finding an available makeup artist, so my bridesmaids offered to do my makeup for me. I was apprehensive about the process. I generally wear very little makeup and my husband hates an overly made-up look. The last time I had gone to a Sephora and bought the makeup the sales rep recommended, it wasnt flattering, so I was nervous trying again. This time was completely different! I worked with Grace, who was lovely and took the time to listen and help me try on a variety of products until I found exactly what I wanted. She had great recommendations and I love everything I came home with! My makeup came out perfectly for my wedding, and now that I have a set of makeup that I actually feel good in, Im looking forward to wearing it more frequently!
The staff at the Sephora location in Briarwood made my shopping experience so incredible I had to share. Every single person made sure to ask if I needed help but I never felt bombarded. I walked away feeling so satisfied and like I had actually been assisted in finding the best products I was looking for. Thank you Sephora Briarwood for the wonderful experience!!
Last Friday (9/24) I went to Sephora for foundation. I was lucky enough to have Blake come up to me and ask if I needed assistance. She gave me a great full coverage recommendation and a pleasent moisturizer recommendation. Thank you Blake.
Im going to be honest like I always am when I review. I am a very low make up girl. So many times when I go into sephora I feel invinsible, I am not there typical customer. In fact today I was bare faced. Most people dont even offer to help me. Today I was shopping for one of my girls and was plesantly surprised by the genuine help that I got. It was refreshing and I so appreciated it. A smile and a little courtesy goes a long way. 👏👏
I will never come here again you guys have on your site that you have Gio Profumo on sale for $61.00 online it says it’s in stock came to your store and it’s not in stock and it said it was still in stock online when I was talking to your sales associate waste of time update your stock info if something is out of stock it shouldn’t be saying it is in stock online SMH 🤦♂️ Thanks for nothing.
Still allowing testing even during the pandemic which is nice considering the price of products. One star docked because employees have a hard time staying focused when asking for assistance. Too many times Ill come in requesting assistance with selecting an eye shadow or lipstick for a gift and instead receive UNSOLICITED and UNWANTED skincare advice..... great for makeup but leave dermatology to the dermatologists.
Boy am I clumsy and boy were they nice! I came in with the purpose of just getting lipstick and was in the hunt for a specific color in matte. I was helped by Wyatte, who was helpful, patient, and informative. I asked question after question and he showed patience and attentiveness. He showed me a bunch of products in the store and I ended up buying a couple more things😊 Thank you Wyatt!
No matter when I go in, there are always several employees willing to guide me and answer my questions. I’m not one to desire assistance but it’s great to know it’s available to me. The store always looks nice too. It’s not the employees’ fault that the testers are all destroyed. Thank you for your hard work!
Taylor, the manager, as well as Maddie were super helpful. You could tell they took pride in their jobs and really knew their makeup! Every question was answered enthusiastically. As a vegan, I was able to get products I knew I trusted from a very knowledgeable staff. In an age where samples have to be administered covid safe, I still was able to try some products (given by an associate) without feelings as if I was contaminating the whole stack. Not to mention this store is on the bigger side and well organized. I came in for my birthday sample and left with a whole lot more
I went to Sephora after not having been in a beauty store in over a year due to the pandemic. I wanted a pick-me-up and had 2 products in mind. Although it said one of my products was in-stock online, I did not find the color I wanted in the display. I tried to find an employee, but the only 2 people on the floor were occupied with other customers. The other product appeared to be out of stock. I browsed around and tried to find an employee, but the only two employees were still occupied with the same customers. After waiting for more than 20 minutes, one of the employees finally asked me if I needed help. He confirmed the out of stock product. As for the other one, he told me he couldnt sell it since they were doing a hard launch of the product. I told him it had been around for over 2 years (impossible to have a launch) and that the website said it was in stock. He checked with his manager, who told him he could not go into the back room to get it because there were too many customers and not enough people on the floor. He was very sorry. I felt bad for him because he tried and couldnt do anything more to help me. Its the store management who is at fault for not having enough people on the floor on a Sunday afternoon. I drove 45 minutes to shop in-person for the first time in a year, and they couldnt go in the back to get the product I wanted? Ridiculous. I will NEVER shop at this store again.
No one offered to help me even though I looked lost af trying to find what I was to pickup
Had my favorite wallet there
Very knowledgeable friendly helpful staff.
Some items were out of stock.
Had an absolute nightmare of an experience with your employee Hayley. I’ve never been so appalled by an employee in my life. She was extremely unprofessional, rude and pushy! Will not be coming back here again, you lost a customer. Train your employees some manners and stop being so judgemental.
Great selection with very helpful staff. I was not sure what to get for my skin type and the staff member recommended skincare products and helpful tips. So happy with this store!
Usually I buy stuff on sale from drug stores, because I use quite a bit of make up, but its nice to stop by and check out new things. Sephora is a pretty good place to see whats new. They have sales, too, sometimes. Ive been to a few Sephoras, all over the place, and although the one in Briarwood isnt the largest, its still pretty good. I guess, especially when it comes to selection, size does matter.
Sameerah was assigned to do my makeover...she covered one eye one way the other...I asked when I was getting my makeover....she said oh I was showing you how to do this...so I said thank u....she put items.she kept trying to sell me on my face then a foundation...and that was it...so no makeover..I asked.for a nice cat eye to bring out my green eye...and i arrived early...I knew that...she must be used to move one showing up. She had me sit down ask me what I want on my face..(for myself, if you want more money you ask what look Im going for....you see my foundation and other easily accessible information.I want my makeover and not spending anything
Good
I recently had my makeup done by Wyatte. He did such a great job and was so kind and creative. He created a fun, flattering look for me. I especially appreciated his knowledge of vegan/cruelty-free makeup, my skin concerns, while honoring my style and age :) I have enjoyed shopping at this location of Sephora since 2017. Its the most friendly and helpful one Ive visited.
My daughters loved their makeup and the staff was awesome. They made sure to pick out stuff age appropriate. She also looked at me to make sure it was okWonderful place
Love the store/brand—always happy w my purchases, however at this location, the customer service hasn’t been great. There are a number of employees who give judgmental and nasty looks every time that I am at this store and it isn’t welcoming at all. I really like to try the products when coming into the store to make sure I like it before I purchase it (especially for pigmented products), but at this store in particular, I ask for a sample to try and home and each time, they roll their eyes and their attitudes are rather foul. Products are great; Customer Service is not, unfortunately.
If you do shop/browse here ask for Brandon. I came in for an eyebrow pencil which unfortunately was out of stock. However, he not only informed me of the free direct shipping but also found me alternatives that fit my price point and beauty needs. He also took time to walk me through the store to answer my random skin care questions and show me products Ive been considering buying. On top of that he also gave me an eye cream sample during my check out which I LOVE! Such friendly, above and beyond service.
I love anything to do with makeup and i 10/10 recommend this place to anyone who does makeup.
I asked to have them apply an eye liner I wanted to buy to see the quality and they told me they didn’t have time and to do it myself.I will take my future cosmetic business to Ulta and Macy’s no one there has ever been rude.
Lovely bunch of ladies that work here. So helpful and sweet. Thank you Guys.
I like Sephora
I originally, was planning to buy a couple of things, since I am addicted to makeup! What I normally love about Sephora, is the variety and the fact that on my birthday I received a free gift. When I asked Lauren, about it, she seemed to have a chilly attitude. I thought maybe, it was just something she didnt like about me. So, when I left I asked a friend to go in, and get a sense of how she is. She witnessed that like herself, she had to wave her down when it was an African-American customer. When it was a Caucasian customer, she completely changed her tune. I dont like prejudice, and will certainly let my wide range of friends know, to not give her service!
Great customer service they always have what Im looking for
They have many different companies represented here. The products are top of the line. Great place to go for makeup inspiration. Expensive beauty store.
The only place that I buy my make up there are always friendly employees willing to help you no matter what.
I went in just the other day to Sephora. I was looking to get a new foundation, along with a color match and help on products. It is usually hit or miss with customer service in the store. When I entered the store no one was there to great me or ask if i needed assistance, instead the staff proceeded to just carry on with there conversation. After several minutes of walking around the store, I heard one of the employees mention that they should get back to work, but they continued to talk amongst themselves. Was upset about the service and left without purchasing.
First time shopper and very happy. Employees were very friendly kind and helpful.
Very helpful staff
Samantha helped my purchase go smoothly. I needed to return broken pallets that were sealed and when everyone gave me the run around as to why I couldnt return it. Sam helped me with no hesitation
Kelly does a phenomenal job at the beauty studio! Very professional and a great artist! Worth stopping in for!
The staff were friendly. I went in for some samples and they were very nice about it.
I was really frustrated with the service. I waited 20 minutes for the make up specialist, and then they sent me a general sales person. When I told her what I was looking for, she left, ii waited 10 more minutes for someone else. Thirty minutes for help, and thet werent even busy. Then she takes me to the foundation, make a a recommendation, and tries it on me. Ten minutes of finding the right color, and then says to me, let me find out if we have this color. Why wouldnt you check that before wasting my time?? She looks and says, yea we dont have it! Forty five minutes in a store, and they didnt have it. They tell me to order it, but they are expecting delays on shipping. Seriousky! I love the products, and the fact that they have people who specialize in different issues, but the service is inconsistent. Sometimes it goes well, other times, you toss 45 minutes into the trash.
Ive had several less than stellar experiences at this Sephora, but yesterday was the last straw and I will absolutely never go back. I stopped by to spend my holiday gift cards right before a date night with my partner. I planned to get one of the Hourglass blushes. A male sales associate helped me - really wish I had gotten his name, but he was in his thirties with dark hair and facial hair. I told him I was interested in the Hourglass blush but wanted to make sure I got the radiant not the shimmer finish so there wasnt too much glitter and he immediately started walking away and said, Oh no, you want this blush from Benefit. I followed him and before I even knew what was happening he was putting blush on my cheeks. Didnt show me what it was, didnt let me swatch it, just loaded up a brush and came at me. Then he grabbed their tester stick highlight and, without sanitizing it, rubbed it on my face. Then he said there, go look, thats what you want. I went to a mirror and oh my god. Bright pink glittery blush, applied unevenly and not blended. I quite literally had two pink circles on my face, one much higher than the other. It was... insane. I looked insane. I mumbled oh yeah... Its... nice? and he handed me the blush and was like, yeah the Hourglass blushes are straight glitter, this is better. After he walked off I put the blush down and went and picked out the Hourglass blush on my own. Later I heard him talking to a coworker about working for Benefit, so Id bet you anything he was getting a kickback (not sure what Sephoras commission policy is) and was disgusted. It was ridiculous. His behavior was inappropriate and his application was abysmal. Since I was heading straight for date night, I didnt have time to go home and fix the monstrosity he put on my face, so I went to the bathroom and spent ten minutes slowly taking it off with a tissue and trying not to destroy the rest of my makeup. As I said, this is not the first bad experience Ive had here. Once a sales associate rolled his eyes and made fun of me when I said I wasnt a fan of matte lip colors. Another time I was buying the Stila Magnificent Metals liquid eyeshadow, which is super duper opaque glitter, and a sales associate told me I could also use it as a cheek highlight, which, no you cant, unless you want a full on stripe of glitter on the side of your face. Based on these experiences, I would highly suggest that the manager train their employees better. They are rude, boorish, and dont know what theyre talking about. In the future I will be ordering online or driving to Novi.
I would consider myself a makeup enthusiast. Im not great at it & dont wear it everyday but I like to dabble every now & then. I go in to this Sephora like once a month, sometimes twice. I am always greeted but the buck stops there. Usually the service is lackluster. The one time I had good (not great) service was with a woman with salt & pepper hair for skincare products -- she was clearly much more professional than the rest of the young girls that work there.Last week I went in to find a bronzer, asked for assistance...this girl...showed me 3 different bronzers...didnt offer to help me try it on..didnt explain how to use it or if I needed help with it..just kept saying how much SHE loved them. Like we are 2 different skin tones...what works on you is not going to work on me. And the cherry on top -- when I ask to try it on she hands me her brush LOL. Long story short, I didnt buy any bronzer there. Went to MAC and bought some there.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
I love having Kelly. Shes nice, awesome
Good service. But some of the tester are pretty dirty...
Rude employees who belittle you when you want to do a return. Was planning on purchasing more makeup after I did my return but because the older woman who processed my return was so rude, I decided to leave.
Lipstick & Bronzer is awesome
Good service.
Friendly helpful staff
Great store and friendly people, but one lady was kinda being pushy, trying to sell me eyeshadow and concealer that I dont even need.
Love this place!
Good
Ideal for a cats hand
