Great staff, great selection. The nice dogs will show you around to find gently used outdoor gear and appeal at a reasonable price. They also sell new items like water bottles and locally made stickers.

Great selection although prices seem to be similar to retail for used gear. Sadly over heard a few employees in the back, bashing military that come to town that go hiking and rock climbing. You would think they would just be happy they are bringing business into town and be happy to share the outdoors.

Always a fun spot for when you are searching for something specific or for something special. Ive scored cross county boots/skis/poles, backpack, rucksack, my husbands ski boots, and most recently a fantastic pink HH ski coat!! Staff are always friendly and helpful!!

This was a super cool place. Their used gear was in great shape and should have a ton of adventures left in them. The staff were very friendly and their prices were fair.

Very cool place with a super eclectic selection of well priced second hand gear. You can’t go wrong, although you may not find exactly what you need.

Pretty nice little business and I really liked that they would help you sell your excess gear for camping, snowboarding, or bicycling you name it. Super cool! I didnt know this place existed until a friend of mine brought me there this past week. Very nice clothing, camping, snowboarding, skiing, and bicycling accessories for a more than fair price! I couldnt stop admiring the Jeep full suspension electric mountain bike. What a beauty! Staff was nice and helpful. Ill be returning to this store again.

Theyre a bit pricier than youd expect for a consignment store, but the employees are always really friendly and informative; Id much rather be here than REI!

Fantastic place to get what you need. Im sure others may have stated that sometimes you may have to visit the store a few times to find what you are looking for. It can be a roll of the dice, but at some point, they will have what youre looking for. Quality products at a fraction of their price if purchased new.I recently found a few used BD battery-powered avy bags there. Dana, the owner of The Hoarding Marmot, personally assisted me with a thorough demonstration of how to inflate the bag and repack it. He was knowledgeable about the system BD uses and had educated answers for my questions.Thanks Dana and your staff!

This is my second review of Hoarding Marmot. In the past few years they have expanded their storefront, carried more gear than before and after constantly doing great, new things. There is still nowhere else that I will go first before coming to Hoarding Marmot. The staff is always kind, knowledge and patient. Ten out of ten every time.

This place has a ton of quality gear, for great prices. Excellent place to pick up seasonal items.Its also a good spot to consign or sell gear you cant fly out with (bear spray, camp fuel, etc...) easily and conveniently.

The Hoarding Marmot filled a much needed niche in Anchorage. We are so happy that they opened and are doing well. My husband and I bring old gear in all the time and love getting money back. To those of you who say that the clothes are dirty... weve been politely asked to take clothes home and get the cat hair off before they will sell it.... so they have a standard here that we have witnessed. The staff is friendly and helpful. We LOVE this store and will always support it!

Half the equipment is used and very overpriced, like I can get selling used gear that still works but dont mark it up more than what its worth new!

Selection is slim, though a large part of that i can chalk up to COVID, and the actual retail space they have to work with. The three stars comes from the price gouging, and sour-faced staff. With the exception of the boots, everything else can be bought new, for much cheaper. Maybe things will change once a wider selection becomes available in the spring.

This is a great outdoor store offering gently used gear for hiking, camping, fishing, backpacking and more. They have sleeping bags and tents for all seasons, kayaking gear, camping equipment such as cooking utensils, burners, and storage containers such as beer proof barrels for food. The prices are the best in town short of going to a thrift store. And the owners and staff offer friendly help and advice about different gear and how they are used. You should definitely check out The Hoarding Marmot if you need outdoor stuff of any kind.

I really like this store! I recently got into snow machining and wanted to find some warm clothes to replace my old snow gear. I didnt even know there was a consignment store for outdoor gear, what a life saver! The only way I found out about this place was doing some heavy digging online, need some good advertising somewhere!

Good place if youre looking for used gear. Found some great items for my dog. But the shoes and clothing were dirty. They should require the items be cleaned before placing them out on the floor.

Really great products and outdoor brands. Sometimes you can find cheaper prices at REI sales, especially at garage sales of their used gear, but this is still much better than buying new.

Great place to do business with! Dana is very helpful. I needed a pair of mountaineering boots. I found The Hoarding Marmot online and sent an email. Dana responded quickly and gave me several pairs of boots to choose from. I live in Maryland, so we communicated via email and phone. Dana sent pictures and detailed measurements of the boots. He worked with me on the best shipping method and when I finally got the boots, they fit perfectly and were exactly what Dana described in his emails. A month later I used the boots on Mt. Rainier. Thank you, Dana, for a great store and awesome service! Whenever I have a need for some gear, Ill check with The Harding Marmot first.

Love this place, I regularly stop but you see what goodies they have kicking around. Im a climber and this place definitely will save you some cash if you knowwhat your looking for. I highly recommend to climbers, and backpackers...check them out

It was really kind of dirty and messy inside but that being said I did get a North face jacket for 35 bucks so 🤷🏻‍♂️ cant complain too much

Absolutely amazing store. I found a beautiful sky blue Patagonia down sweater with hood for $50! When I got to the register, it was on sale for 50% off so I got this AMAZING jacket for $25. Love this place!

If I come into town for gear this is always the first place I stop. Its like Craigslist for outdoor gear, except you dont have to play phone tag and drive all over the city. More often than not, I end up finding what I need here for usually less than 1/4 of retail. Employees are very helpful, most seem to have experience in the industry, and not of your typical consignment shop variety.

Highly recommended as your first stop when trying to find that piece of gear on your list.

A great spot to find just about any piece of outdoor gear you need! I find their used equipment is generally a little more expensive than I’d have expected it to be, but it’s still cheaper than buying new. They do an excellent job of weeding out the beat up and rough stuff, so the used stuff is almost always in really good shape! They’ve definitely grown since they opened, and the selection is much better than in the early days. I always check there before hitting up REI or AMH. Love this store!

I dont recommend the Hoarding Marmot. I purchased a pair of boots last night and this morning they began to crumble to pieces during a short walk to breakfast, so I returned to the store and asked if I could exchange them for a different pair and the lady behind the counter said Im out of luck... no exchanges or returns. Very disappointed.

Drove all the way across town with cash in had to buy a specific item. Neither employee that was present could be bothered to help me, as they were too busy wasting time on the internet. Frankly, I suspect Id receive better treatment just about anywhere else. My first and last visit here was a complete waste of time.
