Loved it! You could easily spent hrs. In there.
If you’re looking for a gift or something rare then you’ll find it at Lazy Dog Antiques. You’ll find antiques and some modern items here too. I think you’ll find one of the best selections for Alaskan antiques like Iditarod and Fur Rendezvous memorabilia. You’ll find military items, coins, airlines, trains, clothing, furniture, and many other items from all corners of the globe. Don’t forget about the outdoor area on the side.In comparison to other antique stores I believe this is the largest selection you’ll find. If you don’t find it here then you have a handful of other places to visit. Parking here is very limited, so park where you can.If this review was helpful please click the Like button.
Sad to say today was my last time visiting this shop. Have been a customer there for the last few years, spent over $2000 there. Today I went in to purchase some antique silver, something I collect. Talked to the gentleman at the counter who seemed annoyed that I was asking. Having spent a period of my life putting food on my table as an antique dealer, I get it, sometimes people come in to look and never buy anything. That being said, acting this way is not a good way to make a sale. I picked out a few pieces that I wanted to purchase, and asked to look at another case that had a few pieces I was interested in. I was then approached by another employee that told me “If the owner was here, she would not let you do that.” Having no clue what she was referring to, I asked. She told me that the owner would never let someone weigh pieces of silver, and mentioned many times that she “Wasn’t trying to make me feel bad.” Feel bad? For making an educated decision about a purchase? Having been in the antique trade for 12 years, I have NEVER had someone selling a piece of silver tell me it was against their policy to weigh it on a scale. Would you refuse to let someone look up the book value of a piece of pottery? All of the pieces I purchased were priced higher than spot value, and frankly, none were of makers that command a price higher than the current spot value. I came in to buy $2000-3000 of merchandise, but left with around $400. I bought what I had already picked out, didn’t haggle, paid what was on the tags. I agree the owner has the right to do business this way, but I will take my business elsewhere.
Holy Cow!!! This place is amazing! Tons to see and prices that dont scare you away. I found a number of good deals and had an absolute blast looking around. I cant wait to go back!
I love to be at this place. Its a wonderland of .............a world of pure imagination.
Truly ab amazing place ! Didnt even finish looking through the entire building. It looks small but it is HUGE inside ! Saw so e awesome pieces i maybe going back to get. Staff is very personable.
In the front of the store, the first thing you will see is a Grand a opening sign. It has been up there since September of 2017 according to their Facebook page . Prices are high and non negotiable. Often the tags are missing or difficult to read so prices are pulled out of the air occasionally. They will speak for the consignment owners of the item, I know the owners they would never... Some of the items have been in the store for three or more years and it fees like they would rather keep the item for more years than sell it. I bought a lamp that was plugged in and illuminated when I chose it, the price was not negotiable. They offered to keep it safe at the desk while I continued to shop. I agreed. When they put it in the bag, without mentioning or asking they took the bulb. If you are looking at items they tend to ignore you If they are chatting with each other; you will feel like you are interrupting them if you have a question about price or an item. If you just shop and keep to yourself, they will hover and pop up unexpectedly as you shop. There are a lot of items, though I only shop here if I cant find it at my other favorite places.
I need 6 decades to savor all the incredible treasures found in this warehouse. Holy moly.
Went into this place with an open mind. Emerged a couple hours later like I had time traveled for what seemed like only 20 minutes of being in there. The place is full from the ceiling to the floor with amazing antiques of just about everything you can think of. The prices may be a bit high but the quality of the products are superb! Definitely my favorite antique store in Anchorage.
Very cool place
Very fun antique shop. Prices are reasonable. The staff is nice. But most importantly, its full of goodies. This shop doesnt disappoint at all.
Spent quite a bit of time here. Jam packed full of some really nice items. If you love old glass and jewelry, youll enjoy it. I found several owl pieces at very reasonable prices.
I love Lazy Dog Antiques! They have a great variety of items... from the smallest items to big pieces of furniture. They are always getting new items in and if you find something they will even do layaway! 💜
Huge, well organized, and tons of speciality items! If you have a specific collection of item in mind, definitely check them out. Had a great time wandering around and looking at the wide array of options.
Lovely clean and bright shop.
Alot bigger then it seems! Has a huge selection of amazing antiques.
Well worth the trip. They have tons of great items. My only complaint was the pricing. I wanted to buy 4 maps but only two had prices. Without hesitation, the cashier wanted to charge me the same price for all four maps. Only problem, there were other maps in the stacks that had a much lower price. So, I passed on the maps.
This place has a ton of items for sale, I mean alot. The prices seemed high but you know how it goes. One mans treasure is another mans not so treasure. I am no collector but this looks like a step above salvation army or the other place. It is definitely worth a trip in just to see some of the stuff you had when you were a kid. I love going to these stores once in awhile to see if there is something I absolutely cannot live without.
1st time here but had some very nice items just didnt have what I was looking for.
This place is awesome. Lots of interesting things. Some things are a little overpriced. But if you have time to look, you can find some good deals.
I agree to a T with the other 2 star review posted. An enormous store full of amazing trinkets, knickknacks, and awesome old stuff. BUT as my grandpa, a lifetime collector told me, something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. In the age of google where I can instantly find the worth of identical or comparable items for far less, its a miracle in and of itself they can afford to keep the lights on with these rip offs.
I really enjoyed browsing in the store. I found a treasure to take home to Utah and appreciated the owner taking the time to call a dealer and negotiate a price I was very happy with.
I love coming here. They have such a great selection of vintage and new products. I highly recommend checking their store out!
So many good old memories to be had here - I do especially like their wartime antiques and comic collections!
Cute little shop! I enjoyed wandering around while killing time before my flight. Nice displays and great selection!
I loved this place. They had so many cool antiques!
Fun place to roam and find kool goods for just about anything and everything. A place you just have to visit and see!
Huge, intriguing, little bit of everthing, bigger than you could imagine. But needs some air freshners, very friendly, and helpful.
Great shop! Something for everyone. New things every time you go in.
Liked looking around here. There are some great things to see here.
This place was pretty cool. Find something different in every nook and cranny.
Great ladies! Lovely items reasonably priced.
Amazing memories for me and others..Toys of my childhood that I was able to recall. Blue China pattern of my late mother. Glass washboards.
Prepare to spend at least a couple of hours there. They have rooms full of everything you could wantNice friendly folks too.
My fave place to browse antiques and collectibles! I could spend an entire week there, and still not see everything!
Lots of great vintage, unusual and unique items.
Great so many things to see
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOP IN ALASKA!!LAZY DOG ANTIQUES is far better than shopping online at Google, eBay, etsy, etc. where the shipping costs are oftentimes double or triple the cost of the item for sale!!!Ive been buying their consignment items for over a decade and never had any regrets. When Ive felt an item was too spendy the sales ladies contacted the seller and asked if the price was firm or if they were willing to negotiate. Oftentimes the sellers were open to dropping the price. It never hurts to ask the clerks if theyd mind contacting the owner of the desired item(s).This store is HUGE and packed to the ceiling with all types of Vintage and Antique finds. If Im looking for something specific Ive found it nearly 100% of the time. The always friendly sales staff have been more than willing to help me whether it was retrieving an item I couldnt reach, answering all my questions and lastly obligingly contacted the owners of my chosen item if I wanted to negotiate price or needed to know more about something.
Such a unique place to treasure/souvenir hunt
Great items to choose from, but the older staff that works there, she may be the owner not sure was very rude.
One of the best places in anchorage for mid century modern, Alaskan works, furniture, artwork, collectibles and everything else under then sun. my favorite weekend home decor shopping spot.
This place isnt really an antique store, its a consignment store. Or really, a store for delusional people whom think their junk is incredibly valuable. They do have some interesting items, chandeliers/chairs that you couldnt find anywhere else, but they are extremely expensive and are only about 5% of the stuff in the store. For everything else, its all cute knick-knackery or home items you could find somewhere else, completely new, for half the cost. They are under the delusion that just because something is old, its inherently valuable. Its not. I found a cup there that had the logo of a former employer on it, which they wanted $20 for. Its just a glass cup. It would be $2 at any other antique store. Or a Japanese serving tray, which was a shoddy one you would find for a couple dollars in Japan, but it somehow became very valuable when it came to the Pack Rat to be priced at $25. They even had a chair with broken springs in it for $900. They wont negotiate prices for anything under $20, and for things over $20 you can negotiate the price down maybe 10-15% at max. I found a hanging Japanese boat glass globe there for $450, offered $150 for it and the lady told me I would never find the same thing for that low of a price. 10 minute drive later I found the exact same thing for exactly $150 over at the Pack Rat. Dont go here unless buying over priced, old stuff is your hobby.
Such a great shop. Love their new location across from Costco on DeBarr.
This place is jam packed with all kinds of tchotchkes, jewelry, souvenirs, home decor, antiques, and much more. Youll need time to hunt for stuff!

Best antique store in the local area; or at least that we have found that is not a craft store or estate sale location. 3 hours of fun looking and found several little things we fell in love with.
