Absolutely amazing experience. I had ideas in mind of what I wanted and they delivered! I had several options and the stylist pulled dresses that were my style and budget. she would clarify if something was slightly out of my price range to make sure I was comfortable with even trying it on. I felt their undivided attention and they answered all my questions while waiting for the delivery of my dress. From beginning to end, this place was top-notch!!

The staff at Bateau is amazing! From the start of the appointment Holly made me feel comfortable and made choosing the most important dress I’ll ever wear such a breeze. I felt comfortable and they really listened to my feedback the entire time on what I liked or didn’t like. They worked hard to find a dress within my budget that fit all of what I was looking for. In the past I’ve sat through close friends dress appointments when we’ve had to travel out of state and spent multiple days and hours in appointments at different shops looking for the perfect dress. It seemed as though it was such a daunting task or a chore, not the fun experience we imagine it to be, but it didn’t feel this way at all during my appointment at Bateau. I had been worried I’d need to go out of state to find the perfect dress but I’m so grateful we have such an amazing shop locally who worked so hard to help me find the perfect dress. If I had to do it over, I’d go with Bateau every time!

I was very excited to go dress shopping and came in with an open mind. My experience was far from amazing at Bateau. From being told we cannot touch anything to being told to not even look at the dresses in a certain room because we couldn’t afford them. I asked multiple times to try on a certain dress and after the 5th time, the stylist let me try it on with a stern warning of “it’s definitely not in your size”. I was not allowed to try on sleeves that went with one dress because my arms “wouldn’t fit”. Everything was about budget too. Around 20 minutes before my appointment ended, it was a fight of trying to try on more dresses because the stylist was more concerned about the people coming in after me and the timeline.After leaving the store with nothing but tears in my eyes, my recommendation is if you do have to go to Bateau, make sure you are skinny and have a huge budget. What a waste of my time, energy, and self-confidence. Extremely disappointed but couldn’t give it 0 stars.

My fiance told them our budget. Still gave her dresses WAY out of our budget. Extremely rude and gave her a snotty attitude because she didnt want to buy a dress that same day. Will not be coming back very unfortunate with all the good reviews I expected better.

The owner was AMAZING!! My sister got her wedding dress from here yesterday and our appointment was awesome. The owner sat down with us and asked the bride what kind of dresses she liked and looked at all of the pictures that she was showed and pulled dresses accordingly. She even had one of the dresses that the bride showed her! The first dress the bride tried on was a high contender on the list which was a breath of fresh air compared to the bridal store we had an appointment at earlier in the day. All of the dresses here were so beautiful it was hard to choose. She would ask what the bride did and didnt like about each dress she had on and took everything the bride was saying and applied it to the situation to find the perfect dress. This shop is the best and I would recommend it to every single bride in the future. If you dont go here youre missing out on amazing dresses and an even better experience!

Loucinda was very nice and patient with me as I tried on the dresses that she and I had picked out. The last dress I tried on was actually exactly the one I had imagined myself in which I ultimately chose.Their selection of dresses was vast and their boutique is so cute and cozy inside. When I went back to to pick my dress up Rachel helped me try it on and she was so sweet and gave me the time to call my mom and stepmom to include them in my fitting. I purchased my wedding dress and my bridesmaid dresses from Bateau Bridal Boutique. It was such a good experience. I visited almost every shop in town and this one was by far my favorite. The shop is so cute and its private. I felt so comfortable the entire time. Tara was great at helping me find dresses that I would like. Everything arrived on time and as expected. Tara at Bateau Bridal is absolutely amazing. She has a great selection of dresses, and is super helpful and listens to what you want. The shop is adorable and feels really comfortable. You are the only bride in there when you schedule your appointment, so the whole shop is yours for family and friends to watch you try on dresses. The shop is not handicap accessible, but Tara took the time and energy to help me get my Mother up the stairs, even helping move her legs and hold her arms, and seemed happy to help!! I highly highly recommend coming here for a bridal gown, I will recommend this shop to all future brides in the Anchorage area.

This is such a cute and charming shop! I absolutely loved my experience there. It was just as I imagined it, with a nice sitting area for my mom and bridesmaids and ample mirrors to see how I looked in the dress and just an overall classy atmosphere. Its nice that they only take one bride at a time as it made for a more intimate and cozy environment. Tara and the ladies there are great to work with and they were so gracious when I came back for a 2nd try on of two dresses that I fell in love with, they even let me try on more then those two dresses when I came back that visit. I highly recommend this shop, I had gone to two other shops in town but the other two left me feeling more like a number. Give them a visit, its totally worth it.

Bateau is the ONLY of its kind here in Alaska! I moved here from Miami 6 years ago and when my husband and I got engaged I literally started looking at tickets to go down to california or seattle for the weekend to pick out the perfect wedding dress. I thought surely there were no places that carried the whimsical beauties and styles like BHLDN here in AK. Someone recommended I should check out bateau and though I was weary I went for it. Its a teeny little converted house in an area of town I dont usually go to ...and its filled with MAGIC! They only take appointments so you have complete privacy to browse everything. The ladies are super helpful and their store is filled with gorgeous accessories as well. I ended up purchasing my wedding gown there, fur shawl and a gorgeous bridal headband. They had stunning bridal belts as well but I already had one for my special day. Would highly recommend any new brides to head to this place FIRST before trying any other salons in anchorage or the valley.

So happy I found this place! Its cozy, calm, peaceful ! I had gone to Davids Bridal first, and felt stressed, and rushes and exposed! I came here next, I was the only one there (with my squad) and the sales lady was so nice, patient and bubbly. She helped me try and tons of dresses, and didnt waste my time if I didnt LOVE a dress. They have consignment dresses, sample dresses and new gowns! Of course I didnt find one in the consignment rack like I had hoped! ( I was hoping to save some money) but I found the gown of my dreams!!!! The most beautiful gown I have ever seen. I didnt know exactly what I was looking for whwn I came in, but when I put it on. It was the one!

I bought my wedding dress from BBB in January of 2015, and I cannot speak higher of this shop! Out off all of the dress shops in Anchorage this was by far my favorite. I went to BBB last, and I told myself if I didnt find my dress there that I would have to fly out of state.There was NO need! Taras shop had incredible designers and options that made it unnecessary to fly out of state to find something completely unique.I also really loved the relaxed atmosphere, I never felt pushed or pressured to buy and that made me feel comfortable and confident that I was buying the right dress for me.Overall buying my dress at Bateau Bridal Boutique was probably the best experience I had throughout my entire wedding process!

Tara is awesome at what she does! She helped me pick the perfect dress for my wedding next summer and I love her for that! No other bridal store in Anchorage was as down to earth and friendly, but best of all, she really cared about wanting to help me find the perfect dress for ME. I had no idea it would take a few months to get a dress in because theyre basically custom made for you, so if youre new to all of this like I was, try and plan ahead as much as you can! They also had consignment dresses and other dresses you could buy on the spot. My mom and I loved that they offered champagne while I tried on the dresses. They have a pretty great selection of dresses and theyre not those pushy sales-ey types, they actually care about what youre going to be wearing. I wouldnt go anywhere else, HIGHLY recommend them, and love them here! This is where Ill be referring all of my friends to from now on for sure! Oh, also, lots of accessories to choose from too!!

I cant express how amazing this shop and its owner, Tara, are! I went looking for my gown here and felt totally at home, was not pressured to buy and felt that I was in the hands of someone who really knew their stuff. For most of my buying experience I was by myself as my family and friends are all in Indiana. Tara was kind, helpful and gave me the advice and opinions I would have wanted from my family. She welcomed me with a hug every meeting and did everything she could to make my experience awesome! I am equipped head to toe with items from her shop and couldnt be happier. I went to all the shops in town, and this is by far the best!
