Looks to have a good selection but I was unable to browse the whole shop. I noticed a sign on the door that masks are required which is understandable but it also said visits are limited to 20 minutes and I was reminded after I came into the store. I try to be understanding but this one is hard for me. Limiting the number of customers makes more since to reduce covid risks than limiting the duration of the visits. That way everyone is safe and able to find what they want. I did find a few thing I liked.

Every time i go in here i feel like every turn and movement i make i’m being watched by the employees like they have a feeling i amgoing to steal. definitely not the case!! in my opinion you guys should have littlebuckets for the customers to carry around while shopping for crystals so they can put them right in there and they’re all in the same place so there’s no suspicion. thanks !!

I always feel like I’m being watched as if the staff thinks I’m shop lifting. I also feel Unwelcome when I go in with my son. They only give you 20min to shop and then kick you out.

We went there as a special treat for our children who are really into rocks right now. The staff was unfriendly and dampened the mood of a special trip. One of the staff yelled at my special needs child. One star. Would not recommend.

This place has a little bit of everything. They even let me borrow there jewlers loop to inspect the opal I was buying. I really appreciated that.

I will never return to this place again. They are very unfriendly to families. They will gather and talk about you while staring at you shop. The masks do not mute your words I have ears.... I was planning on finishing up the rest of my holiday gift shopping there. But there’s much friendlier better priced places. Terrible energy for a crystal shop. Sad.

Not all the crystals sold here are real crystals, lots of the citrine is just heat treated amethyst and if you have done research you would know only man made hematite is magnetic, natural is not. some of their quartz also feels like glass..

Our trip to Alaska was suppose to conclude with a visit to this store Sunday, though the sign says they were open Sunday they were closed. Sadly we werent able to see inside and purchase some rocks.

This place is so wonderful! I’m so glad to have such a wonderful place to go in the community and see such lovey specimens and actually shop for them too. Sometimes I feel like their should be an admission t the door but then it makes since because there is so much to shop for in this store at so many many different price points that you can’t not walk in and buy at least one thing but maybe you’ll come out with a bag full!So many lovey treasures of the earth and they try to only bring on the cleanest of pieces.

I got 6 rocks and a wire cage for 9 bucks. the lady was amazing and so nice, didn’t even bother me that it was a maximum 20 minute stay. absolutely love all of the crystals.

Old lady who hovers by the door is way to grouchy to be around Public. Store has sign stating 20 mins max visit in store. Upon entering old lady scowled at us “you have 20 mins . She hovered near us, apparently making sure we weren’t going to stick a 30lb rock in our pocket.Store was empty....no reason for her attitude. Maybe that’s why store was empty?

There is something for everyones budget. I could spend hours looking at all the wonderful stones and gems. If you want a unique gift or something for the person who has everything then stop in and take a look.** I do not recommend taking children in there unless they are old enough to know not to touch and to be aware of their personal space and surroundings so things dont get broken.

One of my favorite places to go! The staff are so friendly and helpful. If I’m driving by, I love to go in just because to get an intense energy cleanse from walking around the store.I dare you to go in, stand in front of the biggest and tallest amethyst they have in the back left corner, and feel how powerful it just sucks negative vibrations off your aura. I could never afford such a huge piece, but it’s become a ritual every time I’m in there to enjoy its benefits.Lots of love! ❤️

This place is so big and has all the rocks you could dream of! Theyve got geodes (big and small), sages and smudge kits, statues of greek/romen/nordic gods & goddesses and faireys, fossils, books, and so many other trinkets and tokens. Everything is reasonably priced or much cheaper than most crystal shops Ive been to. Theyll even hold your rocks at the front counter if you find youve fallen in love with too many crystals to carry.They are more than happy to help and guide you to what it is youre looking for. If you need a glass case opened you simply have to make eye contact with an employee and theyre on their way! They also gifted me a small quarts with my purchase - one that I love and am so thankful for. I have fallen in love with this shop and will definitely be coming back here next time Im in Anchorage. This is a nice store for purchasing rocks, they have a lot of great rocks and gemstones along with a variety of different things that might be perfect for gifts. They also have pretty decent prices for their collection and was happy for what I paid for.So you might be asking, then why did you deduct a star?They were friendly enough but I started to get annoyed at them asking me if I was okay, I was only in there for 30 minutes with maybe only 4 other customers and they asked me 3 different times if I was okay, 2 times by the same person. So they were kinda trying to be friendly but it actually comes off as annoying and bothersome at that point.Then when I did come up to ask a question they made me feel like I was stupid and didnt know what I was asking for, they had some great cabbed moonstone but I wanted just tumbled rainbow moonstone which is the sheen name of the feldspar family, they pointed me to raw feldspar and tried to help but at the same time kinda treated me like I was dumb and didnt know what I was talking about. I said sorry for being difficult but yeah I just felt like an inconvenience to them at that point.Anyway, the store seems to be more into the metaphysics of rocks and not the science so if you are more into the science of rocks then you might not find as much help here.Recommend natures jewelry for a more down to earth experience and scientific knowledge.Thanks

I absolutely love rocks and crystals and had never been to this location before. Compared to most other shops this one is amazing. Its packed floor to ceiling and in every little nook and cranny with every type and style of crystal or stone Ive ever heard of. If you are into this type of stuff this place is a must.

I really like it there. The workers are friendly and I wondered around for at least a half hour just looking at all the cool stuff.Theres also a ramp for wheelchairs.

Weird vibe.. second time in the store, was having a great day feeling happy and wanted to go buy more stones. After I smile & made eye contact with the young lady with the full mustache immediately starts burning sage. The older lady who was pleasant my first visit wasnt very warm and welcoming as she had been the first time either. I browse around, make my selections and at check out her hairy lip was tight and she did not make me feel like I should come back to that store again. I would have left but these stones are a gift for a friend. They dont have to worry about me ever spending my money there...Ill go across town

One of my favorite stores in anchorage. Admittedly, I havent been to the other rock shop, but I really love it here. They have all the tacky stuff youd expect, colored glass shaped like diamonds, dragon figurines, but they also have a ton of actual straightforward rocks. You can buy the rocks individually, but tucked away in a little hidden corner are reasonably priced bags of rocks from a specific location noted on the bag. Mine are from Madagascar (I believe? Not looking at the bag right now). Highly recommended!

Stars Of AlaskaFor the past 6 years I have made the 5-7 hour trip from North Pole to Anchorage to shop the ENORMOUS selection of thousands of geological specimens. It takes hours to just barely browse the surface. I have literally spent several thousands of dollars here. The past few years they have decided to deem the bathroom for employees only. I said last time I would never shop here again because I was absolutely appalled that I was refused permission to use the facilities. Today this happened again. I will continue to buy from online vendors at this point. Its very sad to see such educational businesses like this go downhill. My children and I have learned so much from Stars of Alaska and its sad to see an end to this tradition. Shame on you for neglecting a simple necessity to customers who truly believed in supporting your business.

Im a geologist. Really nice folks, very nice selection, price is also impressive for being up here in Alaska. Usually the better priced rock shops are nearby where the specimens are found. Im about to go hit this place up again for some Christmas presents for the family.

Amazing stock of rocks. Took six days to clean up after the quake, but they are completely back in business. Good choice for romantic and unusual gifts.

Beautiful items simply gorgeous but most of your items are picked up in my home town of Tucson, AZ and you double, quadruple your $$$. Makes sense. Im new to Alaska, Im in medical, prolonging lives to the extreme but hey no big deal right. Your staff just wouldnt keep their eyes off of me like I was some amazing celebrity but it was the opposite lol. I own a 1,500 acre cattle ranch with a gold mine in a undisclosed part of the earth and with a snap of my finger Id buy your shack of gems and stones. Long story short. Customer service is best if a live person would greet you and make you feel welcomed and not make you feel like a thug, a thief, or even a terrorist. What my brown skin dont suite your store? And the horrific smile your on camera Jesus almighty. Besides that your store is cool, your staff and go-pros are not 😉

Loved this shop till I went in with the question and the lady who I assum owns the place snapped at me for asking.

Said it was opened Sunday but not opened. The times are wrong and need to be changed.Update: Beware based on other reviews seem not to be friendly, also the quartz here might be glass which is common with quartz and crystals bought on bulk from China and Alibaba. On Alibaba it is common to see bulk purchases of crystals for super cheap, then see a large mark up in retail. The issue is lately whether knowing or unknowing they fill the bulk orders with glass fakes to make the package heavier.

I have loved stars of Alaska if I found it 5 years ago. The store has any and every type of Agate or Crystal that you can think of offhand. They had dishes fashioned out of agate wind chimes with crystals dream catchers with feathers. And then they have antique glass and Oriental antiques from the war that have swords that jewelry dishes toys absolutely anything! But... they also have a woman who considers herself the utmost Authority on everything to the point of being rude to a young girl. Ive also noticed over the last year-and-a-half her merchandise has almost doubled in price and last year at the State Fair when asked if she had any materials used for smudging abruptly snapped at me and said no and then when I showed her an example of what she had on display she argues with me telling me thats not what that was! At the State Fair she made herself look like an ass while she was trying to make me look like an ass! Not to mention she tried to charge me $20 for charcoal absurd lady

My friend came up from idaho really wanted to see their stuff..while here she would take photos of things she was thinkin about buying and would send them to her husband to see what he thought..on Saturday we were there and their 2cashiers who were rude and snotty got onto her for takin a pic..on their front door it says no food or drink and no public restroom..nothin about taking pics..so they upset her and made her feel like she was a criminal for takin a photo of some earings .we left and didnt buy anything..they need to post the rules or get nicer staff
