The manager that helped me had recognized me from my previous appointment almost three months prior which was nice and surprising to me. The fact that she remembered one of her costumers from that long ago is impressive. She was also very nice and tentative to my ignorance of eye wear and insurance. She made sure to sit down with me explain everything in numbers so I could use my insurance to the best of the its ability and save the most amount of money. I would highly recommend going to Pearle Vision in Ames. They arent out to get your money and want the best for your wallet and you.

The optometrist I go to in the in-store eye clinic is awesome; I wouldnt go to any other doctor. The two ladies on the product side are very patient and helpful and provide good advice. They also do everything they can with insurance and any possible discounts to assure you are getting the best price. The product selection they provide is all top quality eyewear.

They have always been great at adjust frames, or anything Ive needed. My last experience had a slight blip where the person taking my order forgot one item on my lenses. The store was great and remade my lenses with all requested lens additions.

Accessible hours, friendly and helpful staff, large selection of frames and very clean environment. Received my new glasses in one week and with a couple quick adjustments I was on my way. Highly recommend this facility. Shout out to both Kristi and Emily.

I was thrilled that Pearle Vision was finally in my network for my insurance because I had gone there before and absolutely loved everyone there. Dr. Haugland was the doctor that I had before and asked for him again. He is so thorough and makes you feel so comfortable with his relaxed and witty personality. The whole staff is awesome and friendly not to mention super helpful! I was forced to go to other eye care facilities because of insurance reasons and none gave me the treatment and the care that I got through Pearle Vision in Ames!! Love you guys!

We absolutely love Pearle Vision! Dr. Haugland takes care of all 5 of us in our family and does an outstanding job! The staff is always friendly, knows us by name, efficient, and punctual. Weve never had to wait more than a few minutes. On the glasses/contacts side, Keri and Emily along with the other associates, are always very friendly and accommodating. We are thankful to have Pearle in Ames taking care of all of our optometry needs. Very satisfied and would highly recommend!

I have been going to this location since I moved to Iowa. I have moved more into the Des Moines area and still come back to ames for all of my checkups and glasses purchases. The management is so wonderful and helpful and I couldn’t have asked for aBetter team. 500%!! I love ames pearl vision!

The team at Pearle Vision continues to go above and beyond to make our family feel special. They have worked with us since our son with special needs was 18 months old and needed glasses. Through 8 years now theyve truly been a partner with my husband, me and our two kids that wear glasses. The team knows us by name and always welcomes us. Theres rarely a wait. We are very grateful to have this caring staff, the selection of eyewear and consistent level of service right in our neighborhood!

Extremely disappointed with customer service on the doctors side of the office. She was completely unwilling to solve any of my problems or give me a trial pair of contacts until my appointment. Did not care about losing my business. Just plain rude. Sad, considering last year I spent over $750 on one pair of glasses (which I cant wear) and 2 boxes of contacts. Never going back there. Taking my business elsewhere.

The owner is always there and comes off as snobby and irritated. She convinced me to buy more expensive lenses than what I had picked out... When I received the glasses and they looked terrible I had a very hard time returning them. Years later I tried giving her a second chance and I just dont feel comfortable going in there.... Again with even simple questions over the phone she acts annoyed.

I visited this location for an eye doctor appointment about a year ago and was very pleased with my service. The ladies working at the front desk in the doctors office were very nice and I didnt wait long for the appointment. When I met with the doctor he seemed to really know what he was doing and also seemed to really care about getting me the right lenses, as I have had issues with contacts in the past.I got a trial pair from them that I wore for about a week, then went back for a follow up with the same doctor. I decided to buy contacts from them and, the people in the retail department were very friendly and helpful as well. They got me my contacts and printed off a copy of my prescription for me, so I could take it to buy glasses elsewhere if I wanted to.Now, a year later, I needed more contacts so I called to get help with them in ordering them online (I moved out of Ames). They were very helpful so I decided to buy them again from Pearle Vision over the phone and they set it up to ship right to my new apartment out of the state. I dealt with a lady named Carrie who quickly/efficiently helped me order more contacts today and I appreciated her service!They provide very friendly customer service and have been pleasant every step of the way.

Ive raved about them since my first visit a few years ago. The doc helped me with my contacts/dry eye problem and was so nice to both my little girl and myself! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I got glasses and contacts last year and just contacts this year. I would highly recommend!

The staff at Pearl Vision offers OUTSTANDING customer service. They take the time to recommend frames that look best on you based on many factors such as face shape, skin tone, etc. If youre not sure what youre looking for in a new frame, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pearl Vision in Ames!

Definitely way over priced frames with extremely rude staff.

Do to me coming down with a severe flu, and the death of my nephew, I was forced to cancel two appointments. So when I cancelled and tried to reschedule my appointment so I could attend my nephews funeral, the receptionist refused to let me make a new appointment, and said I had to call everyday to see if they could fit me in. I felt insulted, and Treated quite heartlessly. I have been a patient there for several years. And I wont go back ever again unless they apologize for this treatment.

Staff members were helpful and friendly, check in and payment was fast, and the eye examination was thorough (in my case the optometrist triple-checked and realized that my old prescription was slightly stronger than I actually needed). Overall I had a very positive experience.

Terribly overpriced, better buying your eyeglasses online at Eye Buy Direct even without insurance.I also do NOT recommend the optometrist associated with the store as I was charged for a contact lens wearing exam even though I do not wear contacts regularly and was unsure if I would be wearing them in the future. Had I known it would be an extra fee and not included in the primary exam I would have not elected having it done.

Dr. was nice enough, Pearle Vision staff on the other hand... Never had a bad experience at a Pearle Vision before, but after my visit at this location, the brand will lose all of my business! Insincere, rude, and just plain not willing to help you get what you need. I dont know how this store is still open with the kind of customer service they offer to their clients. I wouldnt recommend this location unless you want to deal with snobby associates and their greedy practices and policies. If you have a problem with your glasses you purchased from them, dont expect them to do anything about it or even listen to your concerns because they already have their minds made up that it isnt their fault. Worst experience I have had with any business.

I used this place once when I was a student at iowa state a number of years ago, and then called them again today to see if their practices had changed.They insist that you order a box of lenses from them if you get a fitting for contacts. They claim that the reason is they cant just give out the trial lenses for the fittings. The trial lenses are provided to the doctor free from the contact lens manufacturers. I offered to bring in a coupon for a free trial pair of lenses, they were displeased with this solution and wanted me to still buy a box of lenses. They said we want you to buy your lenses here. This is really unethical behavior. I am paying for a prescription, that I then have the ability to shop around to find the best price on.I took my business to another provider in town where they include the trial lens price in the price for the eye exam and they dont insist that you purchase your glasses or contacts from them.Pearle Vision has lost the opportunity to even have my business for an eye exam, because they are greedy.

Used to go to a Pearle Vision in my hometown and never had an issue. Recently started going to this location and have dealt with rude associates, over a hour long wait to just pick up trial contact lenses, and an incompetent manager. The manager was unwilling to listen or even resolve my complaints over service. Basically if you want a place with rude employees and poor service, this is the location for you. Im going to switch locations or even companies after the consistently bad service Ive received here.

Appointment time was at 1:20 and didnt get in until 2:20 with only one person a head of me.
