Praises for ๐๐POLLY S. and Dr. Lehman !!
I am very pleased with receptionist, nurses and doctors. I cant say enough good things about nurse Polly and Dr Lehman. The reconstructive surgery was exemplary. I do so appreciate their service.
Good doctors, but one of the receptionists is very rude. Life is too short and fortunately there are several other great options in town. Please hire only friendly staff. Thank you!
Today I had my second annual exam with them (switched to them in 2018 due to an insurance change). I was lamenting needing my eyes dilated because I needed to look at a computer today, the medical assistant informed me reading glasses would reduce the strain of having to look at a computer with dilated eyes. I got a pair of reading glasses at the dollar store and they are making my day so much easier, I only wish Iโd known this the last 10 years!I donโt have insurance coverage for glasses or contacts. I mostly wear contacts so I havenโt ordered glasses from them but I do order my contacts through this office and my contacts are slightly cheaper through them than the last eye clinic I got contacts through.
Ive never had a bad experience at this eye clinic. Each time I go in the staff is friendly, helpful, and seems to genuinely care about my eyes. I didnt wait long before my appointment or for the contact lens tech to work with me. I appreciate that they are meticulous with my eyesight and want to make sure everything is just right before sending me out the door. I went through a couple different contacts trials and they even gave me a pair of cheaters to borrow before making the commitment to buy, which is unheard of in most businesses. Ive had eye clinics try to price gouge even with insurance and didnt get that here. I will be back to this clinic each time I have an issue with my eyes or need a checkup.
Came in this morning from out of town and needed a repair on my glasses. So we stopped in to find the office very busy. I waited a few minutes to see if they could help. One of the ladies working in the optical area repaired my glasses and had me ready to go in no time. Their customer service was great not just because she fixed my glasses but also because they were all so nice and willing to help me even though I was not one of their clients. Thank you!!
I have been a customer for many years. I went to another eye clinic just to see and went right back to Mcfarland.I feel I get a good exam, the receptionist and optometrist are friendly. The staff selling and fitting the glasses are what keep me coming back, they truly are amazing. I go in every few months to get my glasses adjusted and they are so helpful. This year I was in and had a scratch on a lens, they said lets warranty it and got me a new lens.Just now while adjusting my frame they noticed some issues and replaced my frame. These front line employees are great.
Had a v pleasant experience
They may be nice, but behind they are arrogant and greedy. They are a nonprofit, because their doctors salaries are considered an expense and not a profit.Costs start at over $200 to get an exam for contact lenses without insurance. These are the people that are driving up rates with insurance. Amazing that they swear by an oath to serve patients.Ive called nearly every other eye exam location, and many were under $100. Eye works charges $80, and Wolf Eye Clinic starts at $75, all as of 4/16/13.
I arrived at 2 pm for my appointment. I didnt see my doctor until 3:07. I was taken in and out of exam rooms and I spent 45 minutes in the waiting room. There were two separate times I thought they forgot I was waiting. If you value your time at all do not come to the McFarland eye center.Wolfe eye clinic in ames and the ames eye center are great alternatives.
The receptionist was rude and impatient answering my inquiries on the phone. Last time I was there for eye exam, the doctors schedule was far behind, which ended in a long waiting. I decided to switch to different eye center in town.
My son is a special needs boy and he tends to break his glasses alot which is always covered through his insurance. Whenever i go in i get the vibe of annoyance at the fact im there again to order frames again for my special needs son. Very insensitive. Will not be going back.
Great staff and wonderful opthalmic physicians. If you want cheap contacts, go to Wal-Mart. (you get what you pay for...) Perhaps its time to review the difference between an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist? If you need an eye doctor (Ophthalmologist) for a problem you may be having...see these folks! Ive met Drs. Kangas and Talbert and know they are fantastic. I am sure the other two are as well.Optometrists are the folks that can test your eyes, then fit you for glasses and contacts.
