I did not want to give any stars!!! My son goes to ISU, 18 years old. We live in Quad Cities. He drove to Jiffy lube because he was driving home and noticed a “bubble” on his tire. Also needed an oil change. They advised him not to drive and said he needed two tires. He agreed to this after calling me. They replaced two tires and recommended a $100.00 oil change. I found this out after the fact. Paid over $400.00 for the tires and oil change, drove 200 miles home and discovered they replaced the rear tires…. Not the tire that had the bubble on it!!!!! They are unwilling to do anything about this other than to say he agreed to the $100.00 oil change and none of his mechanics saw a bubble on the tire!! We had to buy 2 more tires while he was home this weekend in order to ensure his safety. VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS SITUATION AND WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED BY LETTING HIM DRIVE WITH THIS TIRE. Plus, how many 18 year olds would know it’s not typical to pay $100.0 for an oil change. Warn your children

The staff was polite and efficient. There were a few people in front of me but they still got to my truck directly. They had an attendant at the entry to the car wash to clean the bugs off the front of my grill before I went in and helped make sure my truck was aligned correctly. I thought that was especially helpful.

Had the best oil changing experience i’ve had in awhile at jiffy lube! Chris Long and Harrison did a great job and worked quickly and efficiently and got me out of there faster then ever before! Really great service! I went in to change my oil today because i thought you needed to change the oil every six months for conventional oil even if you hardly drove the vehicle. But the customer service agent was so kind to recommend to me that i should just get a topoff of oil since i only had 750 miles of driving on my truck. Highly recommend and i feel really inspired with confidence to know that they arent just trying to take my money even if its for an oil change that really is just a waste of money and polluting the environment unnecessarily!!

Weve all heard how many of the franchise or chain oil change places, are out to scam people. I found this store to be highly credible not only in their policies and practices, but in their people as well. I learned that not every Jiffy Lube is a MultiCare store, but this one is. and if Im not mistaken was one of the very first MultiCare stores, that apparently helped develop and perfect the MultiCare model, as they expanded their services from just a quick oil change.So you can have all types of auto repair and maintenance done here. Kudos to the manager on duty the day I visited, as I observed him making sure that their technicians were focused undistracted from their duties. It seems that there was someone spending a bit too much time getting chatty with the technicians, which he quickly put a stop to so that they could stay focused on the customers vehicle and make sure everything was done right the first time.I found the technicians to be very conscientious not only of the customers vehicle, but of the customers needs as well. I have never been asked to buy any services or replace any parts on my vehicle that were not absolutely necessary.Ive also used their Tornado Wash soft touch Car Wash many times.It doesnt use just high pressure Jets, it actually has long strips of rotating soft cloth, that dont scratch your car but get off all the dirt!My vehicle always comes out spotless and clean, with shiny rims and tires and no residue from soap or other chemicals. Love the high speed power dryer at the end and complementary car vacuums, which had plenty of power to do a quick clean-up of my interior.This is a great store that I would never hesitate to recommended to anyone who needs quick oil changes or other car care, by a staff that seems genuinely concerned with providing customer care and making me feel like I was their number one priority.As a Google local guide, Ive learned to always take negative reviews with a grain of salt, and consider the source so to speak. Every company has a bad day or a bad service on occasion. so I always try to patronize any establishment that I review, multiple times and personally I have found Jiffy Lube MultiCare in Ames to be a consistent five star location

My friend suggested I came to jiffylube rather than a direct competitor, LOF, for an oil change.The service was professional at first, offering the usual services such as tire rotation, new windshield wipers, and the like.They brought out an air filter that had holes in it, had prices ripped off, and looked like it had 5000-7000 miles on it. Ive changed my air filter before, and I did it recently, so I denied the 40$ charge to replace it.After getting home, I took a look at my air filter to see how bad it was. After a quick inspection, it looked brand new, with a minimal amount of dust.Jiffy lube obviously took an air filter that was NOT mine, and showed it to me, trying to make 40$ out of a part that costs 10$, and 5 minutes to replace.Not to mention, that while waiting for the oil change to finish, I heard the serviceman tell at least 5 other customers, including myself, that their brake lines were dangerously close to busting, due to having (exact words for each person) 300 copper ppm in their lines,This could be a coincidence, however 5 people in a row seems too suspicious.On top of all that, that same friend that recommended that I came here, had the same experience as I did. So did his mother. Your break lines are about to bust, you need a new airfilter, new windshield wipers, ect.Both him and his mother were shown the wrong air filter as well.Id much rather give my business to LOF in the future, as my experiences there have been nothing but fantastic.

Not worth the price anymore with Covid. They dont clean and upcharge 50 percent or more on things like wiper blades.Update - The owner looked like they wanted to make things right, but never actually contacted me back. This place has treated me good I had a guard shield come undone underneath the front end of the car so my wife called up there to see if they could take a look at it and so they told her to bring it in and that they would look at it so we did just that and they said it was the front guard so they ended up re tightening it back up and I asked what do I owe you guys and they said nothing I was amazed on how compassionate they were and friendly they are cause a lot of these kinda places get a bad reputation cause they just try to get what they can out of the customer and dont really care about their needs so anyways I went back for an oil change and they were very professional with excellent customer service skills so they are a good car shop and oil change service company and I would recommend them to others.

Overall good service & friendly staff. Downfall is some of the mechanical services they provide are over pretty high priced. I do recommend this place for oil changes.

Had a tire put on incorrectly in August and a tire stud broken off. Jiffylube refused to get it fixed until December as the manager was always busy, despite daily calls at various different times (morning to afternoon) in an attempt to find a time he was busy. Finally got a hold of assistant manager by walking into the building, sitting and waiting. Had 50% taken off the stud replacement, had to pay for a new tire completely. Assistant manager was nice enough but this was a horrible FIVE MONTH experience.Contacted the offered email below TWICE and got no response. Was so excited that this was being taken seriously! Looks like they just respond publicly to reviews so it looks like theyre helpful. I know that sounds super mean, but thats literally the only reason I can think of on why they would respond publicly and never follow up privately as offered.

The Tornado Wash is amazing and a great price. Even the lowest rate is still a great clean. I went through on Sunday, August 2 and the older gentleman working did a great job. He hosed my car really thoroughly. I don’t get my car washed anywhere else in Ames!

Get there at 10 was told they lost my number and alot more needed to be fix before i could drive they said 3 hours its been 4 and a half hours. Watched them sit around. Later found out i didnt need everything that they said. Could have easily bypassed with a pully.

This is where I had 90% of my oil changes done for decades. However, they have slowly declined, and it feels like theyve hit rock bottom.A few visits back I arrived a 1/2 hour into their scheduled day. The only person in the building wouldnt even come out. When I called, he said nobody had shown up yet. He didnt have a reason for not coming out and telling me.My daughter got a $500 quote on her brakes being unsafe. When getting a second opinion, she found out nothing was wrong with them. She needed a new muffler.Midday today it took 5 minutes for someone to address me. They said I would be right in for my oil change. 20 minutes later I gave up and left. Im done. Theyre awful.

They have great service. The guy that works front desk is friendly. The prices are fair. And theyre very efficient and getting you in and out the door. They also offer subscriptions for their tornado car wash.

I came into get my oil changed . They spent more time trying to find something else to sell me than it would to just change my oil like I wanted !

I had a pickup that overheated after they fixed the leaky radiator hoses. Told me they tested and checked the fluid. Dave told me that he drove it for ten miles, said he didnt have any problems. I pay my high bill and get a mile down the road, then the pickup starts to overheat. I had to dump over a gallon of antifreeze in it. Thanks for lying and saying you checked the fluid and test drove it 10 miles. They charge over $110 per hr for labor. Parts are worth double if not triple here. Will not be coming back. Should have listened to the reviews.

We went through their car wash and at the end our windshield was still peppered with bugs. We went in and told them this and the lady immediately gave us a new free wash. They made sure to take extra care to get all the bugs this time and we came out sparkling. I am happy with their customer service.

Went in for a tire repaired, rotation, and oil change. They didnt fix my tire and actually put it back on my truck half flat which shows they didnt check any of the tire pressures. When I went back the next day they asked me which tire was flat, IDK, you rotated them, put a tire gauge on and find it!

On October 31 of 2007, we took my 2007 Subaru Forester there. A technician named Robert accidentally put oil in the transmission and transmission fluid in the oil tank. This destroyed my entire transmission on my brand new (loaned) car. Because I was an economically insecure and naive young woman in my early 20s, both Robert and the manager at the time took advantage of the situation, attempted to convince me it was a car warranty issue/the fact that one of the lights was on incorrectly (I did not know at the time that this had nothing to do with the transmission -- I had little knowledge about cars), and refused to compensate me for the transmission. This led me to default on a car that I could not drive anymore (which also led me to lose my job at the time, given that I no longer had transportation). It was a $20,000+ or $25,000+ debt that they never took responsibility for.Nearly thirteen years later, Ive obtained multiple degrees and am in a financially privileged situation. I am well-aware the statute of limitations has passed. I can no longer pursue damages against this company, but one thing I can do is to warn as many people as possible. I will never forget the unethical management of this company, the incompetence of Robert, and the fact that they took advantage of a poor, naive, minority female in this way. I have never forgotten this company, or the string of events that happened afterwards due to their lack of responsibility (job loss, credit problems, etc..). I returned to law school specifically to prevent this from happening to other economically disadvantaged people; I know for a fact had I shown up at the office with an attorney, along with the testimony of the mechanics, the outcome would have been very different. Companies make mistakes; people make mistakes. However, ethical companies take responsibility. This Jiffy Lube branch did not, and thus should be avoided for their incompetence *in addition* to their lack of ethics, compassion, and responsibility.

The staff was quick to the job to help me get back on the road. They also reassured me that the vehicle issue was going to be handled correctly and they even waived the diagnostic fee.

Told my transmission would be done in 3 days, took 11, and had cost a good bit more then the estimate.

Multiple hours wait for an oil change and tire rotation on a 45 min quoted wait time. Vehicle was returned with lug nuts stripped beyond use so our tires are stuck until we break them. Thanks Jiffy Lube...

I have been taking my vehicle to Jiffy Lube since I was old enough to drive. Never have I had a bad experience until tonight. It was as if the backup employees were all working. I pulled up as I usually do and a lady told me that they could not serve me unless I pulled around and parked out back. I did so and then came inside to wait for her. She was rude when I asked her to change my name in the system since I recently got married. When choosing which kind of oil I wanted she pulled up the screen and said this is the bad one this is the good one do you want good or bad for your car. I requested my tires be rotated. She told me to have a seat and she would be with me shortly. When she returned she told me that they were not going to rotate my tires but she went ahead and added a new filter to my bill instead of the tire rotation service. My filter did not need changed. when it was completed she wrote chicken scratch for my next mileage on the sticker and handed it to me. Told me that I could not give her a coupon code but I needed to have printed it and brought it in. after all of this I get into my car to see that the change oil and tire lights are still on. When I went back inside to inform her I got an eye roll from one of the other employees who asked me where my keys were and then walked out the door. after waiting an additional 10 minutes my car was returned without the lights on.

I have come to this Jiffy Lube time and again for various problems. They have always been extremely helpful and fair. This is not the type of place that will try to get you to buy things you dont need or overcharge for small repairs. I am a student in the area from out of town, but I always wait to get an oil change until I am back in Ames, simply due to the service I receive here.

Have taken my car to get an oil change at Jiffy several times. The last three times, they have impressed upon me that my air filters need to be replaced. Each time, theyve brought air filters in to the waiting room to show me, and each time they havent been MY air filters. I have reusable ones that I change myself and look very different from the cheap disposable ones (color, material, weight). I wanted to believe theyd made a mistake the first two times. Now its proven that they either cut corners and dont actually check anyones air filters, or are so incompetent they cant keep the air filters straight between the two cars they were working on. Will not be returning.

Went to get a tire changed from standard to the donut for my Passenger side front tire and come to find out after leaving they changed my Drivers side front tire to the donut and didnt even say or want to verify with me the right tire, guaranteed I should have checked before I left but you figure telling them its the passenger side front tire they would do the right friggin one... Definitely never going there again especially when they tried to charge me and try and convince me to buy all 4 new tires, no I just wanted my tire changed to my donut. Thank you.

I was very pleased with the service I received at this Jiffy Lube! I was shown my oil options, and on this trip I went with the conventional oil. Based on my manufacturers recommendation, the system showed my tires needed rotating, which I agreed to.The service was all finished, including washing all windows, vacuuming the interior, and windshield and filling all fluids, and rotating the tires in about 20 minutes.Following my tire rotation, one of the techs had not tightened one of the plates covering my brake system, causing a rattle in the front left side. I drove back around and told them about it. They took my car back in, and it was taken care of.Good experience overall.

Cost me $40 to change the oil even I bought my own oil and filter. And the worker forgot to gave me my change back when I paid cash, had to ask for my change... idk why but I just didn’t feel safe let them handle my car, I’m sorry...

Had my oil changed before taking a trip. They did not properly tighten the drain plug on my oil pan and it fell out while driving down the highway in the middle of nowhere Missouri. Thankfully it didnt blow the engine but I had to be towed to a mechanic on a Saturday that didnt open until Monday. If your going to get your oil changed here either check to make sure they did a good job or take it to a different place. Not woth the risk of a ruined engine because someone forgot to do their job.

Went to have my truck serviced this past weekend. While doing the inspection on my truck the mechanic said one of my license plate lamps were bad. I know that the replacement price was probably twice what I could get it for at any of the local auto parts stores but I agreed to have them change it out of convenience. After I paid my bill I went to get into my truck and found some tools and a grease rag laying on my bed cover. I returned them and headed home. While driving I noticed the service light was still on and my floor mats had not been cleaned. When I got home I did my own inspection and found a fog lamp out and two tires that were at or below 30 lbs. This was my 7th visit to this location and the quality is going down and the prices are going up. if you cant trust them to do the small things you cant trust them with the important things.

I used to love this Jiffy Lube, until today. I asked them to please refill my washer fluid with the -20 degree fluid that I brought with me, instead they used their own like I asked them NOT to do. Then I was told that my battery connections were corroded, interesting since I had it replaced THERE about 2 years ago, I assume they did not place enough vasoline on the contacts... This place has turned into a joke. Its dirty, its depressing and ever since Dave sold, it has lost everything that made it appealing. A bunch of washed up used car salesmen, with limited knowledge. Expect a fifteen to twenty dollar raise from your last visit. Negative vibe in general.

When you pay for their signature service oil change they forget to fill your fluids, Vaccum the vehicle or put air in the tires. Which is literally the only thing separating the basic oil change for the signature service. The last two times there they didnt do the signature service and then told me they raised their prices by $6 and could not accept the coupon. They run a very shady business here and LOF is right next door. I suggest you take your vehicle there instead.

The lube techs @ Jiffy Lube apparently are under the impression that oil plugs and oil filters are structural components. First time I came across this was last year after I had them do an oil change on my car. Just experienced it again doing an oil change on a friends car. Both times it took a cheater bar on the ratchet to loosen the oil plug and a pair of water pump pliers to get the filter off.If you use Jiffy Lube at the very least you run the risk of an added expense of replacing your oil plug when they stretch the threads, They will sell you a new one with the BS line that it just happens over time. It only happens over time when it is abused time and time again and you end up replacing something that they caused. Its like a paper clip, you can only bend it so many times before it breaks. Worst case scenario, it fails between oil changes, you loose all your oil and destroys your engine. The oil filter, when they tighten it that tight, same problems with the threads, but that is more expensive to replace. It can also warp the oil filter base and a filter will not seal up correctly, another expensive adventure to correct.

Absolute crooks. My wife went in to have a tire looked at. They told her the tire was unsafe and needed replacement, even though it was completely fine. Then they put a plug in it when she told them to leave it alone, and they made her pay $30. Dont go there, go to LOFX.

Quick service, easy to understand choices and staff.

Had a tire blowout on I-35 this evening at 5:15pm. After exhausting all other obvious options, called this Jiffy Lube at 7:30pm (they close at 8pm) on the off chance they would have our tire size, and left a message. They called us back 5 minutes later! And we arrived at 7:45pm. Rick drove over to their warehouse to get the tire, and Ryan worked to help another co-worker to replace the tire. We were back on the road by 8:15pm, and avoided getting a hotel. These guys rock!!!
