Had a great experience today. Went in and immediately was helped by hunter. Good guy for sure. Been fly fishing for a little over a year now and was interested in tying my own flys now. Hunter was completely honest with me and very knowledgeable. Didnt get pushy with sales, just sold me exactly what I needed. Spent a good but of money but everything I got was worth it. Been trying to tie flys for about 4 hours now lol. Ill be going to the class soon. Customer service has always been great on every visit here.

I came here to inquire about a 7wt rod/reel combo for fishing bigger streamers for browns and to double as a bass rod. They took their time to layout different options for me to include a second spool for my Ross reel to use a floating line for bass. I never felt pressured to make a decision. They have a great selection of flies, gear, and apparel. I highly recommend this shop for your fishing needs.

Fancy store targeting high spending, status conscious fishing crowd—or so it seems. I was in the store for more than five minutes, wondering around looking at shirts on a variety of racks, looking around for someone to ask about their products. No one even so much as offered “be with you in a minute” or “may I help you find something.REI or Orvis will be my “go to” stores. There are other better choices, as well.

1st timer here. Took a 5hr introduction to fly fishing. After investing into equipment and gear, 2 months of fly fishing on the rivers...Wes at Alpharetta Outfitters made it all come together. First class experience, going to hook up for a intermediate session after a few times in the water. Highly recommend AO and Wes for all your needs. A moment I will never forget. Wes is the “FISH WHISPERER”.

Ive been going to this store for about 2.5 years. The team here is always very knowledgeable and helpful. I have taken a few of their excellent free classes and also a guided trip. All fantastic. They have everything you need to get started or if you are a professional. The best part is that the staff is always friendly and approachable to ask any questions. I highly recommend you visit. Sometimes they put up some great sales.

The people that work here are truly amazing people and very knowledgeable when it comes to fly fishing. I have been fishing for less than a year. I received a fly rod and reel combo for my birthday in July of last year. I looked up fly shops near me and Alpharetta Outfitters popped up. I went by and all of the guys are very helpful. You walk in the door and are greeted by their wonderful store dog Nova. I told the staff what rod and reel I had and the streams I was thinking about trying. They set me up with flies that would work for the area. I also was going to fish the Chattahoochee tail water near the damn. They hooked me up with waders and a pfd. I also enjoy the informative classes on fly fishing also. If you are in the Alpharetta area. Please stop by. You will not regret it. They treat you like family here.

This is a well-stocked fly shop with alot of major brands. But more importantly, the shop guys are welcoming and friendly. Too often, in fly shops or other industry specific stores, workers can have a vibe of superiority or when you walk in you can tell youre an inconvenience. Not the case here, and I like it.

I love coming here; it’s great to spend money you know is going to a good cause while buying products for your hobby. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is my favorite place I’ve been to so far to get fly fishing and tying equipment. Plus they have a dog. The dog is awesome.

Best fly shop inf the south

Im in town for business. I looked up fly fishing near me. These guys have everything for fly fishing & fly tying. Had to buy some stuff just to support the local guys. If I lived here, it would be definitely my go to place.

Highly recommend this shop. Jeff, Seth, Kevin, and Mike are always helpful and nice. Even if you dont like fly fishing there is something here for you. As a Florida Keys resident its nice to see a good fly shop when I come to town once a month. They also do a fly tying night every 3rd Thursday of the month called bugs and suds. Give them a visit and you wont regret it

You will not find a friendlier bunch of fishers in a shop anywhere. The store is solid and inventory continues to grow and diversify in fly fishing gear, supplies and tying materials. Helpful but never pushy!

Nicest people ever. I know nothing about outdoor stuff - and my son wanted to get into fishing and such. They tutored us over the years. Double Bonus - they raise money for Third World charity! Be sure to do one of their clinics! You might find it cheaper elsewhere - but Ill always support local ownership with great service over saving $10 or so to the web stores or super chains.

Alpharetta Outfitters is top notch! Best fly shop in my opinion. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable, but what really puts them above all the rest is that I could tell that they truly wanted me to be happy with my purchase. Jeff recently helped me select a new fly setup for my upcoming salt water trip. He let me try out several rods that were in stock and even ordered a different rod so I could try it out before making a decision. I cant say enough good things about the way Alpharetta Outfitters treats their customers. It is my go to fly shop.

Great place. They arent selling shoes any longer since REI moved in nearby. Still, you get great expertise, fly workshops, etc. This is an outfitter worth checking out especially if youre into fly fishing but not the Orvis price tag.

Big selection with decent prices. Swapped the retrieve on my reel for free, great customer service.

Great selection of fly fishing gear and a lot of other outdoor activities. There was a large selection of fly tying materials. Their rod/reel selection wasnt huge, but they had a large line of waders, packs, clothing from patagonia, as well as other fly fishing accessories.

Im rather disappointed after my first (and only) visit here last week. I just moved to Sandy Springs and Im looking to get into fly fishing so I thought Id go out of my way to check out the selection and talk with someone about what all I need. I wasnt greeted when I walked in, in fact the individual behind the counter barely even glanced my way even though I appeared to be the only customer in the store. After about 10 minutes or so browsing the fishing selection in silence, I drifted to the other side of the store to see what else they had. After several more minutes without any form of acknowledgement that I was even there, I left. Although I was impressed with their selection, their service is lacking.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Steve Hudsons fly tying instruction is top notch!

Always greet you upon entry and offer help without being pushy. Id like to see more gear but understand the store is small.
