The place was dirty and a complete mess. I usually never shop at Dollar General just for this reason but stopped here so I didnt have to go out of my way. I will never go to this location again.

The staff are friendly and honestly the best part about visiting this Dollar General. If you need something fast and quick, coming here is fine, but the store is messy and cluttered. We also found expired meat by quite a few months in the freezer section, so make sure you check expiration dates!

Awful! I understand not being organized at a Dollar General but this is ridiculous! Fire hazard and issue if needed to get out quickly, several aisles were blocked with overflow.

I enjoy talking to the staff and the customers all alike. They listen to my opinions on what they should keep in stock. I go there almost every day.

Dollar General is a good place to go for things you regularly buy at a major grocery store but at a lower price.

Store a little dark and could use some cleaning. But employees were doing there best and were friendly and helpful.

Used to be a good place for a quick shop but they really need to hire some help, stock always in aisles and slow checkouts, seems to be only 2 people working at any given time, management problem

Sometimes the store can be a little bit messy but generally find just about anything youre looking for. Also I can never go in and just get one thing. I end up walking around and seeing all kind of good deals then end up with the cart full of stuff. so make sure you to keep a list or be prepared to spend a few extra dollars LOL

Although the store is going through short staffing issues and that causes a mess we all know, the staff which is there are very nice and always have a smileOn their faces, and that to me is more than half the battle of retail, be patient staff, it will all work out...

The WORST dollar general downriver. This store is very unorganized. The foors are disgusting, they look like they havent been cleaned in months, isles are always blocked by inventory carts but the shelves are never stocked. I avoid coming here. Id rather drive a little farther to be in a cleaner and more organized store.

Cashier was rude, store was filthy and cashier didnt have a mask on properly and she threw my six pack of pop at me. She also broke my eggs and dared me to call corporate about her. Rude, arrogant, no mask filthy store no wipes for the baskets, isles blocked and food in cooler was warm.

This store honestly needs a whole remodel and has been in need of one for awhile. There’s simply too much overstock that’s blocking the tiny aisles, and the shelves look horrible. Definitely not appealing to the eye of customers, and it’ll only be a matter of time before this store loses business because of how disorganized and tight the store is.I really hope the company considers rebuilding the Allen Park (13679) store because it’s been my go-to for five years, and I hate the long travel to the nearest store that looks decent.

The store was a huge mess and the girl (actually there were two, one was on her cell) behind the register was in such a hurry to get off work that she finished rudely ringing me up/bagging before the store even closed 8p. Due to her rushing, I forgot 2 bags behind, already paid for of course..I returned the next day an hour before their already hour early closing according to the sign on the door that said they were open but the door was locked early without warning. I have too many other options to for stores so there is no reason to go back to this mess of store. I am soo sick of bad costumer service or just rude people that get paid for it. Im done giving my business to companies or corporations that hire rude lazy people and pay them low wages. Thats why they dont care how they treat anyone, no incentive. Sorry long rant .

The store is a wreck! Hard to find anything in the nasty mess! I have never seen this store in such a mess. The workers seemed not to really care much. It shows in the shambles they have allowed the store to become. They need to do some serious cleaning! The store manager should be ashamed by the state of their store!

If you have the time, its a fun place for a scavenger hunt. I found some really cute outfits at a great price.However, it is so jam packed with stuff that it looks very junky. I DEFINITELY dont blame the staff. There is simply too much stuff for the space allotted.Im also concerned that the workers cant see around the store from checkout and cant see if customers are waiting when they are trying to organize the stock. Thats got to result in a lot of shrinkage and frustrated staff.

The sales staff . The 2 ladies working in there were very helpful in regards to assisting me with a issue. Other then that there was a lot of product cluttering the isle ways. This is not a shot at the staff but management who thinks because theyre a small chain maybe they should stop paying office management types decent salaries and get this store some more physical help to elevate the clogged Lanes.2 people cant possibly run even that store effectively,provide great customer service while maintaining inventory stock and product inventory.that store needs minimum 3-4 staff at all times with one being a manager. Not 1 and 1

Place is an absolute mess inside and out. Visible alleyway is used to store stock cages full of trash. Eyesore for surrounding residents.

Alot of merchandise there with decent prices. The staff are so/so. Just depends whos working. Theres a few new people there now that need a lesson in customer service though. They new ones dont even say hello when you enter or when you walk up to the register. One guy actually said YO as a form of hello. I looked at him like he was nuts LOL

Always great customer service, they usually go out of their way for you. The only complaint I have is that Dollar General stopped carrying their brand of kitchen trash bags, which I really liked, and it appears that they have stopped making them completely!

Not organized. Unshelved stock all over the floor. When asked about where to find something the woman behind the counter just shrugged. The dollar general on ecorse is much better.

Dollar General in Melvindale is like my second home Im there at least twice a week they changed staff a lot theres always new people working there sometimes its good to have people work there just stay there a while cuz then you can feel comfortable asking them questions not that the new people dont help you and you could ask them but sometimes you feel comfortable asking somebody whos been there a long time anyway its a good store I like it is closed its convenient its clean and you can pretty much find anything you need there and Im glad theyre in Melvindale thank you Dollar General

Good for if you need somthing quick

They usually have what you need. However, the store is too small for all the inventory. Its overwhelming. There is stockn in boxes from new and old stuff on the bottom of shelves. The clothing section is a mess. Getting a person to ring you up requires squeaking a toy to get their attention. Really? Yesterday 12 21 I was in next in line and the mgr said I can get in the Other line and she will ring me up. Mind you she had 4 people in line while this lady walked off to stock. Seems to be a theme. No cashier but 4 stockers. Also the bogo half off sale is b.s. none of my items w the blue dot were half off. The already annoyed cashier didnt seem to want to deal with it so I left. Been going 5 years. That was my last time. So tired of rude employees. Attitudes. Sloppy appearance. Ill keep my money thx

The worst location weve ever been to. The store is always a mess, the employees are rude and not knowledgeable of what theyre doing. Corporate needs to come in and train the employees, stock the inventory, and clean the place up. Not only did they have to refund our money, but also the elder ladys order in front of us was over charged. How difficult is it to ring up retail? We moved recently and were missing the location that was closet to our old home. We will not be returning to the location on Allen Rd ever again.
