Waited for 45 minutes for an inspection and I ended up having to leave to get back to work. Only 3 cars ahead of me and only 1 was called up as I was leaving. Everyone twiddling their thumbs. Everything else is good about this location but trying again getting my inspection done somewhere else. Also, if the inspector is having lunch, no problem, but don’t fail to advertise this.

I have been going to this Express Lube for at least 25 years or so. Well it was under a different name at first and then they built the gas station and car wash across the street I personally have always had a good experience here getting inspections and oil changes. I need synthetic oil for my car and I feel it is a bit expensive in my opinion in recent years so I have going to a Liberty station on Franconia and it is literally half the price with the coupons I find on their website. I will say all the people that work at Yates are super nice and knowledgeable and I actually do appreciate the fact an appointment is not needed and it’s super fast to get an oil change and other small services. You also get a free car wash for across the street and that also is a great facility and the car wash is great. If the price was a bit better no doubt I would again only go to Yates.

Yates Automotive is my go to for oil changes and inspections in the area. They consistently provide high quality service and professionalism. Yates’ also goes the extra mile and offers coffee while you wait, and free car washes at a local Shell station. I definitely appreciate the focus on customer service and am always satisfied with the work they do on my car.

As usual, well-orchestrated service and courteous assistance with no waiting to roll in for an oil change. I especially appreciate being able to stay in my vehicle as it is serviced. My go-to service station for oil changes.

Came in to get my inspection done, knew I needed tires (and they confirmed it). They helped me get a priced tire I could afford and had it all done in under 2 hours. I was able to leave my car there and come back for it. Staff was incredibly professional, knowledgable, and had a good sense of humor to talk me through all of the complexities of the situation. Got an outrageous quote somewhere else then talked to Mr. Floyd who gave us a much lower quote then upon inspection told us that the equipment required previously was fine. Ultimately, they gave us everything we needed and for a lower price than ever expected. Would always recommend for all maintenance.

I brought my tire here for a simple replacement, I dropped off my tire 10 minutes after they opened at 7:40 the tire technician had not arrived for the day yet, and was told it would be done 30 minutes after he got in. After calling at 11 I was told it would be done in 30 minutes, I showed up an hour later having had no call saying it was ready and they had not even touched my tire and was told it would be done in 15 minutes. It took me 4 hours to get one tire replaced and they didnt even have to touch my car itself just the tire. They were in no rush whatsoever to get anything completed and were not even sorry that they ignored my tire even though I was only the second person to show up. I will never be coming back here for any reason. They were lazy, unprofessional, and do not care about their customers. This place is a joke and these people should not be working in customer service.

Today I went to Yates Express Lupe and I got the most amazing service as I always do. Today I came to get an oil change and Alonzo was very professional, knowledgeable & polite!!! He made sure that all of my tires had enough air in them and if they didnt he made sure to put air in my tires. He also checked my battery and let me know that my battery was in great condition. I would recommend going to Yates Express Lupe and ask for Alonzo. Everyone there is amazing!! They deserve 10 stars!!

Free air machine in front of gas station was broken, but a super friendly & eagle-eyed fellow popped out from inside the building to send me around back for a quick air fill up. We had an entertaining chat & some nice laughs. Didnt need an oil change today, but next time I do- I know where were going! :)

I had GREAT experience. I want to have my brakes lights looked at and I was prepared to drop my car off and come back because it was a Sunday morning and knew they were busy. The tech said pull it right up and we will look at it now. I was out in 5 minutes with my brake lights fixed. The fees were very low as well. Extremely professional and friendly. I recommend this place hands down.

Fast inspection (safety probably took ~15m, emissions probably ~5, wait was about 30m with one car), and accommodating inspector. I jump started my car before going, and I had to drive it around some more before I could do the emissions. He explained what I had to do and when I came back, quickly finished the inspection.

My son bought his first car in hopes of passing his drivers test. We went to practice driving and his tire pressure light came on. We drove right to Yates. Alonzo was there and had my son pull up to a bay. I told him my son was just learning. Alonzo asked my son if he knew how to fill tires yet. When my son said no, he invited Daniel to learn! He showed him on the first tire, helped him on the second then supervised on the last two. My son learned a wonderful skill and felt very accomplished. What a way to give a kid some confidence!! Alonzo taking the time to pass on knowledge to a stranger was just wonderful. Such a great guy! We took his picture and will be bringing him and the gates team some cookies!! Thank you Alonzo !!!!

This business is awesome! Yesterday I discovered a tack in my tire and made a horrible decision to pull it out. I happened to be in the parking lot across from Yates Kingstowne Express Lube when it happened. So I drove to them and used the Free Air and my fix a flat to try to stop it. It didn’t work. I spoke to Numan. He took my tire size and called to try to get one. It was Saturday and later on so it was an impossible situation. Well, he changed my tire using my spare and charged me nothing I tried to get him to take cash and he insisted that he didn’t really meet my needs so he didnt take the cash. Numan, you saved my day! I truly appreciate you and will return to an business with such great integrity. Truly a gem!

My first visit here because I was in the neighborhood and I needed to complete my vehicle safety inspection. I stopped by and I had a memorable experience.Storm was the technician and he was so kind, professional, and friendly. Storm also cleaned off the left over glue from an old phone mount on my windshield. Seriously--my experience at Yates was like turning back the clock to the 1940s-- to another time when a person pulls up to a fuel station and they treat you in the most welcoming of manners. Thank you! This is a rarity in our fast paced world!Lastly, the service station had a store with restrooms and a small area to sit. I had my inspection complete in a timely manner and I also received a free car wash coupon for a store across the street. I highly recommend!

Came for a state inspection and had a great experience. They were very professional. The waiting time is 15 mins per car, get there early or you will be waiting for a long time. Everything is clean and organized. The process while the pandemic is good. The change gloves in every car, they wipe the drive wheel and the door before they hand the car to you. You feel confident they are taking care of you.

I have nothing but good things to say about Yates Express Lube! I have been there each year for my inspection for the past 3 years and each time the customer service has been simply outstanding. Numan and Storm helped me today, first with with my inspection/emissions testing at which time they let me know my tires needed replacement due to cracking. After recommending the best tires for my vehicle/needs, they were able to order the tires and replace them the very same day. If you decide to wait there while your vehicle is being serviced, there is a small sitting area inside the attached air-conditioned convenience store to relax and purchase some snacks/drinks if youd like. They are thorough, happy to help you understand the problems with your vehicle, and their positive energy is infectious from time of intake to time of check out!

I have been here a couple times pre-covid. I liked that they are open pretty late on weekend afternoons. I also like the free car wash with car shop purchase. But I was just here last weekend and I couldnt believe how unprofessional they were about covid measures. The shop mechanics literally took OFF their face masks to yell across the shop floor asking each other questions while I was inside the garage and the garage doors were closed, trying to pay. Even when wearing masks, they often put the masks underneath their noses. It was disgusting. They are just not that serious about protecting their customers in the middle of a pandemic--unreal.

Went for a VA state inspection at about 10:30 am on Sat. Only one other car in line when I arrived but a few more showed up after. Quick service. Took proper care with vehicle and with masks/gloves. Wiped car down when completed.

Safety inspection. They need to indicate in their hours of operation that they are closed for lunch at a certain time. Every time I’ve come the inspector has been at lunch but it is never the same time and he always later getting back then they say waited more than 40 minutes

They get us in and out as fast as possible with quality work, and they are completely transparent about their prices, work load that day, and other matters. When their oil prices went up, their employee proactively told me so that I could make the most informed choice about where to go for the oil change.Their company ethos was exemplified two weeks ago when I was on-site to get my tires filled and Yates himself showed up with lunch for the staff. I went out of my way to express appreciation for their service and quality, and he immediately offered me some of the food he had brought. Youre part of the team, he said when I told him I didnt want to take food from the staff.Thats an attitude every CEO and company should have.The reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 is because of their prices. We do go elsewhere for some vehicle maintenance because of their prices.

I experienced a failed valve core on one of my tires after my tire pressure light illuminated. Numan and the folks at Yates helped me by immediately replacing the broken core and filled up my tire to the appropriate psi. I wouldnt have been able to drive my car without their assistance. They were professional and a big help.

While I typically have a good experience with Yates Auto Service, this was NOT. I drove up with only one other car here, they were getting an oil change. There were 5 gentlemen standing around while talking in a group. One finally approached my vehicle asking what I needed. I requested for two tires to be mounted and balanced on my car, the gentleman was nice enough to tell me to pull forward and park, so I did. I have been waiting for 40+ minutes while they are still standing around talking. I was then asked AGAIN what service needed to be done on my car. UNBELIEVABLE!! Not sure if I will be back again after this experience.

New to the area and I brought my car in for an inspection as well as emissions testing. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They got me in right away, finished everything very quickly (about 20 minutes), including replacing some lights that were needed to pass inspection. Pricing was very reasonable, and I also received a free soda and a free car wash, as well as some lovely compliments from one of the mechanics. Overall a great experience!

These folks do an awesome job when it comes time for a safety inspection. Every time I’ve used them, it’s usually always less than a 20 minute wait time. They don’t have any kind of waiting room, but in the back are some tables and benches. Great place to take for vehicle safety inspection. I do not know how they are for maintenance or tires!

Brought my car in for safety inspection. Crack in windshield would not pass. Left the car overnight and Yates had the windshield replaced and inspection done the following afternoon. Very convenient.

After coming here multiple times for my automotive needs I shall never return. They have lost my business. At the end of November I needed my safety inspection but had a last minute issue pop up so my car failed inspection as I knew it would. After getting it fixed I returned at 4:20 for a simple check of the dash to see the airbag light no longer illuminated. I imagine that would take an entire 30 seconds. They refused any and all service. Their laziness is now costing them my business

I come to Yates to get my oil changes because they are so quick every time I get there. It is nice to come to a place and not have to wait a long to receive an oil change. The day I came it had snowed earlier and the bays where wet. The tech asked if I was okay staying in my car during the service to prevent and slips or falls, and I obliged. It took 10-15 minutes and they where done, they then brought my invoice and took my card for payment. It was as simple as that. I would recommend Yates to anyone looking for quick, professional, and reasonable service.

Best experience with a state inspection ever. Arrived 7 a.m., parked at the front of the line (which forms by the last gas island). Went inside, told them what I was there for and was told to help myself to free coffee. Service begins at 8 a.m. and by 8:15 a.m. I was done and on my way. Even though I only had an inspection they gave me a coupon for a free car wash at their place across the street. Friendly folks. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been bringing my vehicles to the Yates Kingstowne Express Lube since 2010. I have always had impeccable service and support. The current manager, Kris, knows me on sight, and knows exactly what my vehicles need. Yates has done everything for my cars from full service oil changes, to repairs with window motors, to safety and emissions inspections. I have been able to get service and support at Yates, when I was unable to get it scheduled through my dealership. Yates was even able to provide me with several years worth of receipts when I had to have a major insurance claim on one vehicle. I only went in for a state inspection, which they not only completed in less than 30 minutes (with one other customer in front of me!), however, they treated me to a free cup of coffee AND a free car wash at the Yates Car Wash across Kingstowne Blvd. Ive gone to this location for quick fixes before (e.g., flat tires, dead batteries) but they ALWAYS take great care of me...and other customers as well. Great service for your state inspection!

Possibly the slowest auto care business I’ve been to in my life. Six or seven techs in the shop, 4 of them wondering around on their phones, smoking and joking. Took 3+ hours to swap out 4 winter tires with summer treads. One guy working on the swap with 3 techs watching him and playing grab a$$. For $31 per tire I’d expect more urgency and customer care.

Yates is seriously the best! This is the auto shop everyone wishes they could find and never have to look around again. Honest, high quality knowledge and work, and great prices! And come on, a free car wash folks! I am a permanent customer there!

The fog lights on my Nissan Murano went out and needed to be replaced. Yates was able to do it pretty quickly. Fastforward a day and I noticed the fog lights weren’t working as I pulled into my garage. I called Yates and talked to Bret. He said to bring the car back when convenient and ask for him. I went this morning and....they just weren’t turned on. I have had my car for 10 years and never noticed the dial for the fog lights. I’ve just always turned my lights on and they come on with the rest of the lights. Bret was very nice about it. He didn’t treat me like I was an idiot, which is how I felt anyway. Rightly so. This is why I take my car to Yates. Kind, courteous, knowledgeable staff who won’t make you feel stupid when you clearly don’t know how your own car works. Thanks, Bret!

Outstanding service! Our battery died in the parking lot and my husband ran over and asked someone for help and they brought a jump start to help us get to the gas station. Had my car serviced here multiple times throughout the years. It was great before but Ive noticed that service went downhill. Just went for an oil change and was done in a good amount of time, but you can tell by the mans face that he didnt really wanted to service me. Ive also asked if he can check my car since the check engine light was on. Still looking annoyed, he did check using the scanner and must have resetted it. I asked him if he was sure theres nothing wrong with anything, and he said hes sure. The check engine light came back up literally 20 mins. later. :-/I dont think I would come back unless its an emergency.

I used these guys yesterday and they were awesome. I found out about them on line and when I called them they were extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. If youre new in town and are looking for a place to take your car for service or repair I would highly recommend giving them a call.

Friendly staff and quick service. I feel as if it’s a bit overpriced though. $100 for synthetic oil change seems high after doing a price check around the area. I would have done this before but it’s hard to find prices online for oil changes. The person who did my oil change never told me about any of the fluid levels or the quality of my filter though it’s written on the paper. He simply changed my oil and gave me the sheet. If you are going to charge a high price, I would expect some superior service and extras besides a free 12 oz coffee and car wash.

The office is Kingstowne, VA is incompetent and always trying to invent staff for you to do in order to pass state inspection.They are not honest. I have been trying them for more than six years in and out. But they are not getting better.I prefer Walmart mechanics.Thank you and I hope the leadership take actions and make this place better.
