Wow! Not only is it a top-notch comic store plus record store plus collectibles (toys) store, but it’s owned by an amazingly funny dude. It’s expected that a comic store owner will be smart and knowledgeable about comics; it’s never guaranteed that he or she will be charismatic and funny. The owner of Astro-Zombies is exactly that! Picked up a Spider-man back issue and some sweet stickers, will definitely be back.

Best place in town for comics. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Everyone was masked up. Felt comfortable bringing my kid who is too young to be vaxxed

Dont go here to trade things in. I was offered pitifully low prices for the items I had to trade (even by trade in pricing standards) and they didnt even look them up to see what they were worth, just threw out random low-ball numbers. The workers were completely unprofessional, and a little rude. If this is how they acquire their collections then I really dont want to shop there anymore either.Case in point, the owner has posted a response to this review that I again found rude and condescending. Just because I dont own a comic shop, it doesnt mean I dont know what things are worth or that you need to talk down to me.

Great place to buy, talk about and appreciate comics! They have tons of other collectibles including (but not limited to) action figures, records, display pieces and artwork. The staff was friendly and welcoming and encouraged me to browse and ask questions. I will definitely be coming back!

I went in to get a birthday present for my eight-year-old daughter. I thought Id be on my own, picking through the more adult material to find something suitable, but the salesperson took me right to the kids section and made some great suggestions. Will definitely be returning!

First time visiting Astor Zombies my family and I were waiting on a table down the street. Joe, being the amazing human he is, reignited an old passion for Star Wars Legacy comics and also introduced us to fresh comics such as Saga while corralling/entertaining our rambunctious 2 year old. Most associates would be annoyed by a adventurous child capable of pulling whole shelves down but they were not. The visits began to multiply and soon after more discussions I jumped into comic collecting. A pull list was established. Between Chris, Jason, and Joe (being the 3 most I’ve interacted with) they run an amazing shop. The books are organized, boxes ready when you arrive, and always a warm welcome. Yes you will see that they don’t take kindly to pretentious snobs but who does? They look out for their customers and are willing to order anything missing or messed up. Wednesdays are now my favorite day of the week as it’s the day to swing by if even just for a little and chat while scooping up the new reads.

I love the selection of figures. I like the way they label their high-dollar back issues with the reason theyre collectible (first appearance of so-and-so.) Their selection of trade paper backs and graphic novels is probably the best in town. Years ago, the staff seemed a little vibey, but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore.I wont dock a point because its just part of the area theyre in, but its probably the only comic shop in town where parking can be a problem.

This place is packed with goodies! Besides comics! They have records and a bunch of collectable toys. I took my nephew there and he absolutely loved it! They are very friendly and helpful.

Looking for some non super hero comics and they had more than I was expecting, great place, knowledgeable people, and fair prices. Ill definitely be coming back.

Amazing selection of collectibles they obviously know the value for collectors. Thats really funny since they use the lowest ebay price to determine what they will buy things from collectors for.They think of people who walk in as easy marks.Also extremely phobic of anybody whos not a white man. Unless youre a girl then theyre just creepy.

This is an amazing shop. I go for their vinyl. The selection is overwhelming. I normally have to put stuff back and hope it lasts till next week. They put all the other local shops to shame. Great customer service, friendly people and great atmosphere. Couldnt recommend this place more. I buy alot of vinyl and if I am looking for new stuff or classicsthis is where I always end up.

My wife and I were recently in town and wanted to purchase some manga. We checked multiple shops, but no local shops we found had as wide of a selection. We ended up coming back on both days of our vacation. The staff was wonderful and we will be coming back the next time we are in town! Thank you to the entire staff!

They have alot of Godzilla merchandise that is very impressive. Tons of collector figures both in and out of boxes. Lots of Funko pops. Store is easy to find. Located on the corner and features a large mural on the side of the building. Great photo location.

Ahhh Astro zombies, really brings me back to when I was a kid. Going in with my stepdad to look at comics, to get my first comic here 10 years ago. I still go there with my friends or my boyfriend to look at some mangas. Hmm customer service is great I have no problems at all! They are very helpful when you ask them questions and they give you their honest answer! Lol I will say though, I forgot how small it was! But hey that’s cool; it’s what makes it special to me. I’ll be going there Saturday! Probably gonna call today to see if they can hopefully place some books on hold for me till I get there! Saturday! I prefer this place than any other comic book shop just cause they have a bigger and better selection.

The young Fat Guy is rude I lowered my mask to drink from my bottled water and asked about the price of a book. The young Fat Guy rudely said you wanna put your Mask up. I will never shop there again. Over priced and Rude.

A big shout out to Astro Zombies for being the ultimate human beings!I was walking down Central when a stranger took notice of my family and me. This stranger was clearly lost and thought my son was her child. She yelled out a name that was very similar sounding to my son’s name which caught his attention and he responded.I believe that the acknowledgment from my son validated this woman’s belief that he was her kid.She began to follow us down the street and then started yelling that we “took her kid”, and “help, they have my son”.In an attempt to avoid confrontation or raise too much concern, we walked away down Central and turned into the comic book shop to hide.The staff at Astro Zombies were so quick to offer assistance and one staff member took my kiddos to the back to distract them from the lady following us.Thank you Astro Zombies for your big hearts and willingness to help keep our kiddos calm in a very frightening situation. I really have no other words to show my appreciation.This is what community is about. Thank you!

Pretty solid comic shop. The staff was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Highly recommended to swing by if you’re in the area.I will say, their selection of manga was sparse, but ordering anything you want is very easy to do.Make sure you look up at the ceiling to see all of the signatures and art from various comic creators and movie/TV stars. The murals outside are AWESOME. Definitely worth snapping a few photos!

Friendly staff, great collection of records. Cant speak for the comics, but these guys really dont know the full extent of their music collection. Bought an album for 15 that sells regularly online for 110. Of course, that is no complaint.

The place to go for comics in this city. Especially if you a Godzilla otaku. They can order most things or try to procure it for you. Highly recommend for any comic book guy or gal.

Super underrated vinyl selection! My sister and I were pleased to find a bunch of our favorite artists here after looking all over town. They might not stock a ton, but what they do have is a great variety of genres and artists outside the usual 60s-80s fare most record stores in Albuquerque stick with.

Always a fun and expensive experience. I mainly go here for their great vinyl collection. It has something for everyone and mood. Most all the vinyl is new and unopened, and I always find my self having to choose what I am going to actually buy this time and what I hope is still there the next time. The staff is friendly and helpful, but hands off if you know why you are there. Added bonus is all of the other collectibles if you are into comics and pop culture. I honestly perfer this shop over Meca and Charlies.

It was a cool place to check out. Spent a good amount checking out the Magic cards. The guys there were kind of nice.

Service is helpful. I wish that they would offer me a option to special order things.

Astro Zombies is the best comic book store in ABQ. They have all the graphic novels, models, dolls, and collectors items you seek. They also have the most knowledgeable nerds working there.

I dont care if youre not into any of the cool and fun stuff they have in this shop, after you talk to the super knowledgeable and friendly staff youre bound to find something you cant live without, something from your childhood or just something cool to add to your life. Honestly one of the best comic book stores I have been in a long time. Staff are friendly and helpful but not clingy. If you want a comic they dont have they will order it at no extra cost to you. They also have D&D, Magic, Pop culture decal made by a local artist, and so many Transformers including Fortress Maximus. Highly recomend it. I have been building my Hellboy collection.

I like this store because Chris and the other gentleman usually working with him (I forget his name, I’m sorry!) Are both so nice! They are always willing to tell me what’s new that week and what it’s about and even tell me if they think I’m gonna like it or not! My subscription box is always ready with the ones I asked them to save for me. I love this store!
