Dave, Zack and the crew were extremely patient and nice to me after having my vehicle towed to them for an issue that was still under warranty at another shop and instead of trying to make money off of me they said it was best to give the ones who did the work a year ago the chance to make things right since it’s still under warranty and they would hate to see me spend a small fortune if I didn’t have to! That is unheard of nowadays and I am so happy that I have a shop relatively close to my house that I can trust ! You can trust that what they are telling you is the truth. A+++++ service, thanks guys!

This was my first visit to Monro. I took a chance when my usual state inspection location and dealership werent taking appointments. They got me in on time, finished quickly, and were even able to provide an oil change at the same time. The prices were very fair compared to the competitors.

Needed an inspection done on very short notice and I was not only fit in on a Sunday with such short staff but my car was ready exactly when I was told it would be. The customer service was excellent and they truly have your best interest. As a young woman, I often fear shops bc I know that 9/10 I will be taken advantage of but David talked me through everything I needed to know and made sure I was good. Thank you so much !!!

Been going to this location for about five years now and Im guessing after a certain amount time, they feel they can treat you any kind of way and let the water run down the back cause they still have customers. Very poor way to treat people, especially from the so called Manager. Ive never even been the type to give anyone servicing me a hard time, but I do expect my questions answered and have a clear understanding as to why things work the way they do. I work in costumer service myself so I know about having a hard time. But when Im being respectful, I expect the same in return. Picking up the phone to assist another costumer while Im in the middle of a sentence trying to give you a heads up that YOUR staff is told me one thing and doing another when I get there, is crossing the line. Ive seen other costumers walk out telling them off and always thought it was the costumer but now I know better and will not be returning or recommending this location. I need to stick to mom and pops for now on.

I stopped at Monroe today in hopes they could look at my tire as I ran over a nail. The guys were great. They got me in fixed the tire within 15 minutes and they didn’t charge me. Great service!

Stopped in at Monroe today with an unfortunate screw in my tire. Walked in, was greeted kindly and quickly, promptly heard and my car was taken in with 5 minutes. I got lucky, as it wasn’t packed, but still nice to get in that quick. Tire was brought in shortly after, patched and fixed for free. In and out within 30 minutes and no cost. Recommend them for other work as it seems they run efficiently and won’t nickel and dime you.

The guys at Monro are friendly and no-nonsense. They were compliant with my busy schedule and got me in and out as fast as they could, all while being more than happy to answer my (rather asinine) questions. Highly, highly recommend.

I knew I needed a muffler. Dave, the gentleman working there, not only explained my problem, he strongly suggested I look at the undercarriage of my vehicle. He took the time to describe my choices taking into consideration the age of my car, the make and mileage. There was no pressure. I’ll return there should I have any other vehicle issues.

Last month I stopped in to get a plug in a tire. Dave explained that my tires were bald and I would need to replace them he gave me a quote but I wasn’t trying to spend the money at time. After the snow fall last night and sliding down a hill with my child in the car, I called Monro up this morning. Dave gave me the same quote from last month and got my car in immediately upon arrival!!! He is very informative, friendly and I’ve never had to wait longer than the specified time frame. Excellent service!!

I took my car in to get a NYS inspection, and this shop failed it, citing an active leak in my power steering system. They even took me into the shop to show me the undercarriage, pointing out where the leak was. In fact, they splashed a bit of motor oil onto the car in an attempt to garner trust with me. They wanted a $1200 repair to get the inspection passed.Seeking a second opinion, I went to another nearby mechanic, who replaced a single bulb (brake light), and passed the inspection. Do not bring your car here, even if youre desperate.

If you are a female, especially if youre a black woman, NEVER EVER EVER EVER go here for car service. They will scam you. I’ve dealt with them 4 times before realizing how much they extorted from me! Multiple other mechanic said I was over charged astronomically. Never ever go here.

These guys are awesome. Monro was recommended to me by a friend who knows a good amount about fixing cars, so I trusted him. Brought my car there a few times now, one time for an oil change and the next time because my wheel bearings were totally worn out and needed replacing. They were straight up with me and took care of the issue pretty quickly, and the car was ready within a few hours. Dave and the staff are very professional and genuinely wanted to make sure my car was safe to drive (I had to tow it in because my bearings were so bad). Great place.

I had a coupon for a free tire repair as I had a nail in my tire. Upon getting there and being told my tire may not be reparable, I was also told that I will have to pay to fix the tire, when the coupon says free. After having my tire fixed they game me my car back with no cap on the valve. I said can you please put it back on and the kid that did my tire said he never took it off. So how did you put air into my tire and balance it (which I paid for) without taking the cap off! Totally unprofessional

They provided a complimentary ride when I needed to leave my car at the shop, and checked on damages following a collision free of charge to ensure I was safe to drive. I would highly recommend!

Had a pleasant time at Monrow. Had to have my blinker fluid changed only took 10 minutes! I’ve never seen someone take a drive shaft out so quick. Travis, my mechanic, let me watch him pump the rest gas in my tires. I mean through the window of course. I have always had my car serviced by the dealer of the make of my car. So I wasnt so sure at first about some of the chain stores such as Monro. However, this Monro gave me an honest assessment of my car. They give a fair price for their services and always honor their coupons. The staff are knowledgeable about different makes and models and what works best for each. Good customer service, convenient location and flexible scheduling.

Service was good. They got me in and out in reasonable time (they were a little busy). I had made an appointment online but they never got my special instructions that were included with the appointment. I got charged labor on the lights they had to replace, but didn’t get charged labor on the air filter they replaced; go figure. I probably won’t be back to this location again.

I have been doing business with Dave Crounse for over 10 years. I value his ability to diagnose whatever is going on with my car and offer me options. My cars have always been older models of Lexus and he knows whats available and helps me determine our choices. As a woman, its reassuring to deal with a male who is respectful and treats me like I know what Im talking about. It was a good decision to put Dave on your team. Ive sent several of my female friends to Monro and Dave always has the right answers for them.

Love these guys. Brought my 14 year old Trailblazer in with a myriad of problems. Guys called after assessing and when I asked them to break it down in order of most important issues regarding safety, they did just that. Great assessments, totally fair prices, very accommodating staff (thanks Dave and Shane), I highly recommend. Brought him back twice after to do more and always left satisfied and feeling safer. Im not from this area, so it was awesome to find a place I can trust.

Quality service by a team that cares! This is not your typical shop. I was in a bind with my tire and went here 20 minutes before closing time on a Saturday. Not only were they finishing up their day but the shop still had cars in the bays being worked on. Normally in a repair shop getting ready to close you would be turned away...not here. The guys were beyond phenomenal. They stopped what they were doing and immediately provided their assistance without hesitation. This location deserves a 10 star review!

Love these guys! Went in with a broken muffler and the guys were so accommodating and considerate as they could tell I was nervous and did everything to make me feel calm! I went here for a simple oil change. When I arrived the mechanic and technicians here took a look at my car. It turns out my tires were not in good shape. The people here do not just tell you, you need this and this and this. With little to no explanations. They took me out to actually see how worn my tires were. This was greatly appreciated. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking to get their car serviced. They dont just look to charge you money. They are family oriented people and want you in the safest vehicle possible. They gave me a very good deal and were very friendly as well.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years and never had a bad experience. They are great at communicating not only what you came in to have fixed or done but what else should be taken care of in the near future and what you can wait on. They answer all of my questions from how much things are to how long I can wait to get the next thing fixed. They are always polite and honest and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my car. I always call or schedule an appointment online. If they are going to be too busy they are always honest and upfront with you about how long the wait may be or how long it may take to complete. If they are too busy one day they’ll let you know and give you a call and make it a point to get you in at a convenient time for you so you don’t have to waste your day waiting. I would recommend to friends family or anyone to go to them for a pleasant experience.

Had to bring my car here to get a tire repaired the eve of the big 2019 Thanksgiving weekend snowstorm. I was in town for the holiday and trying to leave bright and early Sunday AM when of course I got a flat around 430 pm Saturday afternoon!!! I drove around and called around to a few spots where I got turned away due to everyone who was still open at that time putting snow tires on for people. I called up and they said if you dont mind waiting well take a look for you. Well I didnt have a choice as this was a better response I got anywhere else. Imagine my excitement when I walked in and saw Dave Crounse running the shop. Dave had taken care of me many times over the years at another area shop and if was a great relief to see a friendly face who also recognized me (and even remembered my old make and model) after nearly 8 years away from the area. To speak to his efficiency and quality, they had me in and out of there in a little under an hour which was more than I could have hoped for on a busy night like that. Thanks to Dave and his team working that night! The drive back to Virginia from Upstate NY the next morning is another story, but thanks to these guys I was able to do it safely, albeit slowly.

I cant say enough about how well I was treated at the shop at 980 Central Ave. I came in because something had gotten lodged in my tire and while driving it came out. I was losing pressure quickly and drove straight to the shop; I had been a customer before and remembered how well they always treated me. This time they truly exceeded all my expectations! After explaining what happened and that I needed my vehicle for work in the morning, they were right on the case. They got me an exact match for my tire, had it delivered and installed it in maybe an hour tops! I cant say enough good things about everyone in the shop!

First off, Dave is awesome! I went to Monro at 7:30 one morning having to be out of there by 9 for an important personal matter. This matter involved having to drive my one and only car to Saratoga. The previous evening my car failed inspection due to dangerously worn front tires. Having to use this car for important reasons the next day I HAD to get new tires ASAP as well as an alignment and I HAD to leave by 9 AM as mentioned​ above. Dave was there and he made sure he took care of me and my needs that morning, especially the time issue I was dealing with. He was quick, thorough and discussed with me what my car needed for tires and what it needed going forward. He had me out of there by 9 AM and I was so relieved!!! I am going back there the first week of September to get brakes and an inspection, which because of Dave, it will pass with ease.He also showed me and explained the alignment process and how it was badly out of alignment via the chart they provided me. He told me what to do to make sure it never gets this badly aligned and how to keep the tires from getting worn as badly as they were.I highly recommend Dave and the customer service that Monro provides. Ive only ever been here to get my oil changed since they gave me the manager special rate (which hasnt changed); its written on the whiteboard behind the desk. Getting my oil changed was inexpensive (compared to my local Honda dealership), and it took roughly an hour or so. The staff arent too pushy on sales, which I found very pleasant. Staff are courteous and friendly.Waiting area is a bit small, but there are plenty of other stores/restaurants within walking distance where you can go to while you wait.

If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. I called them to make an appointment to simply have my tire resealed, they told me to come on down and they could take care of it. I get there within 20min of calling and I am told that they cannot take me because they are all booked up. (Yes, I made sure I went to the same location that I called.) The service representative then went to the back to talk to someone, then came back out and said I would have to leave my car for a few hours and it will be taken care of. (I expected the same wait time and had no problem dropping it off and coming back later.)I told them that it was my right REAR tire that had a slow leak. When I picked up the vehicle, I paid, I got my receipt. I was told that everything appears to be fine now and I drove off. It wasnt until the next day that my right REAR tire was flat again. At that point, when I went to put air in my flat tire, I also noticed that my front right valve cap was missing. Then I noticed how my front right rim had a lot of tire-seal residue on it (another indication that they had worked on my front right tire and not my rear tire).So not only did they work on the WRONG tire, but they also never put back on my aftermarket valve cap (that I had purchased online.)Part of this is my fault for never actually inspecting what they claimed to have worked on but needless to say, I will NEVER be going to back to a Monroe Muffler location. If they cant even work on the correct tire that I told them about in the beginning, there is no way Im going to trust them with anything else in the future. From here on, I will be taking any business else where.

Rating reflects the fact that they are a complete rip off, not the skill of the techs. $935 for an exhaust that you can buy online for $210 and have installed for another $100. They tried to get me for $1200 a few years ago for a catalytic converter that I wound up paying $500 for elsewhere. Im done with them. I will never go back. Shop around. The mufflers have a lifetime warranty, but most people dont keep their vehicles long enough to use it. Besides, they still charge you for parts like clamps and hangers, and labor. The pipes and mufflers are not quality. Run away from this place

Called to see if they could give me a NYS inspection without an appointment. They were more than happy to oblige. I arrived within 2 minutes of calling and they got my in and out within 20 minutes. They even removed a damage skid plate at my request and didn’t charge any extra. Didn’t try to oversell me anything. I generally do all of my own maintenance and repairs, but for things I can’t do, like NYS inspections, I would definitely go back.

During a road trip, our exhaust started getting real loud. We pulled into Monroe Mufflers and Brakes on 980 Central Ave in Albany. We were greeted by Shane who was a great person to encounter...very friendly, very personable and very professional. We were helped immediately and our van was up on a lift in a matter of minutes. Since we were far from home, our technician Jesse offered a few different solutions, understanding our situation. We left with our exhaust fixed and happy customers. I highly recommend having your vehicle serviced at this shop!

This shop was great. Our brakes failed on a trip from Quebec to Maryland, and we needed an emergency repair. The manager had us in and out with new brakes so we could get home on time. I would highly recommend this shop to others.

The price posted outside for oil change is $14.99 and I was charged $29.99. They also charged me $50 for AC check up although the coupon said it was $29.99 for checkup. They said they couldn’t find the problem with my AC and asked me to come back for the diagnosis again. What a ripoff. I am not going back again. Wasted my 3 hours.I was a long time customer before this but this is my last time here.The reason you see so many positive reviews here is because they are offering $10 discount if you post 5 stars.I had positive experience with their customer reps before but the guy who served me today thinks his customers are dumb. This guy is a total ripoff and should be fired immediately.

This was my first time at Monro Muffler and found them to be very courteous and professional. I left there with my problem resolved in a timely manner. I will definitely return. I also will recommend Monro muffler to family and friends.

Dave was great. I lost a wheel on the highway outside of Albany on my way from Boston to Michigan. Cobbled the spare wheel on and limped it in to town. Dave got me right in and expedited the whole process. He explained everything we were looking at in terms of damage before getting my opinion on what to fix. Really helpful, in and out, highly recommended. If I ever happen to break down in Albany again, I’m coming here.
