This place used to be good. I have been taking my family there for years. Now its horrible. With the exception of the doctors, the rest of the staff are incompetent as the come. Its like one hand doesnt know what the other is doing. I had an appointment, called to confirm it. They said everything was good. Went there and the could see me due to insurance issue. You would thing they would have called before I went there and mentioned this, but no, wasted a trip there after leaving work early on a Friday afternoon just to make the appointment. What a joke. Looks like i need to find another place to go.
I always feel very comfortable at my eye exams. The doctor takes the time to answer to all my questions patiently, she makes me feel that I am in good hands. Thank you Jewell Eye!
We were so happy to choose this place after meeting the doctor and staff over there. They where so kind and friendly.
I had an amazing experience with the team at this location. I dont have vision insurance but was able to use my AAA membership for a discount to cover my exam and I walked out with a brand new pair of contacts (in my eyes), including a 6 month supply...Between the new contacts, exam and 6 month supply...The damage was less than $300. Id recommend this place to anyone! I will be returning for a pair of glasses soon.
I used to like this eye doctor. They explained everything well the last couple times I’ve been here. This visit though was not so great. To start, they weren’t even open when My husband and I arrived for our appointments (we were only 2 minutes early). To top it off, the receptionist was unaware of anything I was asking her. She mentioned we would have to pay a fitting fee for my husband’s contacts. I didn’t know what this was and when I asked, she said it was because he was getting contacts. This didn’t make sense to me and she did a HORRIBLE job trying to explain it to me. I asked if we paid this last time he got contacts, and she provided me information on what my insurance covered. I explained that’s not what I asked for and she said she knew but was still looking. I know what my insurance covers, I didn’t understand the fee. Thankfully, my husband googled this information and texted me a link to read and it helped me understand it more. The eye doctor I had was good, but when I asked about our normal doctor, he said she had left. She was old so I’m guessing she retired. It’s a shame though, because she would have been the redeeming factor of this place. After my exam was done and I was waiting for husband to finish, the same receptionist asked me if I received a copy of my prescription. I don’t need a prescription and told her so. She had the papers in her hand and couldn’t read them. All in all, I feel like the service has gone down hill, except for the doctor I had today. The new receptionist they have is incompetent and can’t do her job well. She an old blue hair, and I hate being agist, but she is the perfect example of an idiot old lady who shouldn’t be working.
Just received my new glasses. I decided to go the extra mile after being convinced that the non-glare lenses would make a big difference. I was shown several photos with and without the non-reflective lenses, and the differences certainly did look impressive. After having the special order sent out, and getting them yesterday, I went back to make sure that my lenses were indeed the special non-reflective. I was assured they were, but I told them that I did not notice any difference from my old glasses (without non-glare).The lady who had sold me the non-glare lenses was not at the store, and the one who I got the assurances from, could not find the comparison photos I had been shown prior to making my order. Seems a bit odd to me.Disappointed.
Front desk is not very knowledgeable of the services they offer. They are quite confrontational and discourteous. Their billing practices are erratic and they get upset if you ask for an explanation. They made me wait a long time for an invoice and was surprised that I even requested one. They have yet to embrace computers and still file almost everything in paper form and because of this they are very disorganized and untimely. They were more than 20 minutes lates for my exam and they were not open when during their posted hours. The optometrist was very nice and thorough but it doesn’t make up for the front desk experience. If it wasn’t for him I would have left a single star review.Needless to say this will be my last time visiting this optometrist.
They do not keep any contact lenses in stock - not even common prescriptions from common brands. So you can count on making TWO trips - one, because for some reason they need to see an original prescription with the docs signature (if you KNOW your prescription, too bad. Not good enough) - and a second trip a couple days later to actually get your contacts. They also dont have a business email address (or so I was told), which would be helpful to those of us who A) dont have access to a fax machine to fax over our Rx, or B) dont feel like making a special trip just to drop off the Rx in person. No understanding from the staff, whatsoever. These policies make no sense. I am going elsewhere.
Great eye doctor. Very caring. I went years wearing the incorrect lenses but now I have never had such clear vision
Professional & straightforward care, and knowledgable about options. I found the services a bit perfunctory, but it made for a quick visit.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The doctor was thorough and knowledgeable.
Never have an issue with these guys! Always in and out in a timely manner!
I received excellent care at Jewell Eye.
Great service, Friendly and helpful.
Why charge for insurance covered exams. Taking business elsewhere.
