In my opinion, you cannot get a better alarm company. We have had their service at our business for 7 years and weve never once had a complaint with their service. We moved to a new home in 2015 and installed their system at our home as well. We live in a rural area and because we are, we were extremely adamant that we have fire/smoke protection.In 2017, we had a fire in one of our outbuildings that started at 10:30 pm. Had it not been for the alarm system, we would have lost not only that building but another very large building AND our home as well.We called them the morning after the fire and they came and took care of getting the alarm system back up and running (the fire destroyed the one building).Due to the fact our AT&T internet and phone system was down (AGAIN), the alarm system could not relay the fire alarm to the monitoring system. However; the alarm system went off inside our home and we called 911 by our cell phone.After the fire, we upgraded the alarm system to a dedicated cell service which Carolina Alarm recommended. We now dont worry about AT&T and their outdated and lousy service ever again.We have since upgraded the system again (2020) to include outdoor cameras. We are thrilled with the service of Carolina Alarm and highly recommend them.

Hateful staff. Called them several times about my app not working couldnt get into my home. Then they tell me oh we have upgraded to 5g and you will have to pay $129.00. Nope not me. Cancelled my service. I dont advise anyone to get this service never worked correctly since I had it.

Carolina Alarm has a very friendly staff that is always willing to help. Something that is lost with the big alarm companies that just want you to sign a 3 year contract and never help when there is a problem. They saved me $20.00 per month just for switching to them. 5 star rating!!!
I love my alarm. Easy to use and I can control it from my phone. I can even talk to people at my front door! I plan on taking this system with me when I move.

While I want to support a local company these guys make it difficult. Their brand new state-of-the-art Honeywell Lyric system was installed in my new home by the builder. This thing has all the bells and whistles of a modern alarm, but as it turns out they’re all hidden behind a paywall.My $255/year got me something they called “internet monitoring”. I assumed based on the name that meant I could monitor my alarm over the internet or an app. But no, that’s basically Carolina Alarm using your internet connection for monitoring. If your alarm goes off they get notified and you get a phone call (it’s 2018, not 1996). In order for you to get notified via SMS or push notification they require and extra yearly fee. Also to add all of the cool home automation features the Lyric is capable of handling, another yearly fee!When I realized the limitations of the system I wanted a full refund (I was going to buy a Simplisafe system, and ultimately will when my year is up) but was told I could not be refunded as it was paid for as part of my home closing. Just a lame excuse!! I ultimately paid for it and should be able to get MY money back if I choose not to use the monitoring.So I guess I’m in for $255 for a year, but they won’t be earning my business next year. Shame!
