Can I leave zero stars? I am so glad to see so many negative reviews. I was lied to about everything from point A. I was told there is no contract and no problems with cancelation. I moved and live next to a police station so I didnt feel the need for the system. I asked to cancel and was told I had to payoff a contract I didnt even know existed. Your equipment is lame, your employees lie. Great business model ADT. Cannot wait to see this company crumble. Nest, Ring, so many alternatives these days with better performance.
The ADT technician came to service my keyboard that malfunctioned after I personally replaced an electrical unit. The technician, Darren wore a mask, he was very knowledgeable and polite. He quickly repaired the keyboard, inquired if I had any other problems, and advised me of some other services ADT has that I might have been interested in. I declined, the service call ended. I highly recommend Darren. He is a great asset for ADT.
This company is a rip off and i would not recommend any services done by them. I was lied to twice and charged almost 600 dollars out of my account for the equipment that i did not want to purchase. Now i do not know how everybody money is, but i do know mines. I could not afford them robbing me of that and this was on the first day they install the equipment. Needless to say i told them to cancel my order abd get their equipment and refund me my money. They did not cancel my account and i am still speaking to several supervisor to get my account canceled.WORST COMPANY FOR FIRST TIME HOME OWNER!!!

The world is dealing with an unprecedented Pandemic and I was put in harms way by greed. What should have required one Installer entering my home took three and yet Ive been left with an unfinished product. For those of you who have lost loved one to this Pandemic, Im sure you can see the RECKLESSNESS of ADT.
**UPDATE:***Seriously, ADT deserves negative stars. Our install was the 5th (today is the 21st) and we are just now getting some communication from ADT. We have literally called every single day, some times over an hour spent talking with representatives and daily repeating our story. Now that we have someone in customer care, all they care about are themselves. ADT DOES NOT care anything about the customer and resolution, we just keep getting told that we are out of our 3 day window to cancel. BEST PART- Our 3 day window began was when we spoke with someone and agreed for them to come to the home and do the install (12/31), so we would of had to cancel the service before we ever got an install? And the contract that we signed on the day of install, that is still incorrect, even though that says we have 3 days, we do not, it is from the 31st! ADT is AWFUL! Please use something else, no resolve and no one cares here!GO ELSEWHERE!!!! The customer service to start is the WORST my husand and I have ever dealt with. As soon as you inquire about a unit, they are quick to respond, but if there is an issue- lets just say we have called EVERY BUSINESS DAY since our install, spending hours at a time on the phone and we are no where closer to resolve than day 1! Customer service cannot do anything without going through the branch apparently and the branch manger sounds real good when he speaks to you the first time, then there is ZERO follow up and communication from him! We are now being told that we are stuck in this contract, even though we have called every single business day trying to get resolve and at this point, we just want out! Please people... go somewhere else and save yourself the headache!The tech that came out was subcontracted, so he shows up in a sedan with a little three foot ladder to put up outside cameras. The ONE camera he could put up was just placed on the side of the house and the cord to the camera is right where I could walk up and cut it and now we have a hole in our siding! There was a mess left in the home. The man could not put up my other camera outside because he did not have the equipment to do so. He only brought 1 of my 2 doorbell cameras and it does not even work. It is suppose to be motion activated and record who is at the door and this does not work. He left my indoor camera sitting on the counter and was specifically asked about hanging it up and said most people dont and just left the camera with two screws sitting on the counter. He told me that we had a motion sensor, but it is just for glass break purposes, corporate had to tell us that they did not see a motion sensor in the home. The glass break feature has had to be bypassed since day 1. The wall outlet where the key pad is was chiseled at so much so you can see a hole now at the outlet and the tech left the wall dust for me to clean up. The tech kept saying that we had to sign a contract for him to even do our install when it was not correct and he said that he would call at the end and correct it all, little did I know, that was going to be done outside of the home without me around. The contract was not corrected at the end, so that is not even correct. We were told that we would only be charged $25.00 at install then our account was hit for $86.00. We have called and called, messaged, emailed and we have gotten no where. The branch manager finally was able to speak with us on a Thursday and that was just a bunch of empty promises! We were told that he would call us back Friday after speaking with his area sales manager and we never heard anything and reached out to him even, nothing. Finally on Tuesday, he picked up a phone call, after many calls and he had been emailed even. There was still no resolve. We are back on the phone again, now with customer service for over an hour and half and have been transferred multiple times and NO resolve! We just want OUT, our home fixed and someone to give us some resolve!!! This is the worst ever! We have spent countless hours of our time every single day and are getting no where!
Deserves 0 stars honestly! Professional install out of the back of a Hyundai. Installer was not prepared with equipment to perform the installation nor all the adt equipment requested for install. The installer didnt install but one of two outdoor camera which he left the wire exposed that can easily be cut. He did not have and install but 1 of 2 doorbell cameras. He did not install a motion detector instead a glass break sensor (that has been faulted since install) and claimed that was was a motion sensor. My indoor camera was left on a counter top with mounting screws beside it even though my wife asked for it to be mounted. During the installation drywall and siding were damaged, he left my couch in the middle of the floor for my wife to put back, and didnt clean up the messes he made. Over 8 hours of my own time has been invested trying to get this taken care of and I keep getting the run around. Because they cant follow up or through with anything Im being told I cant get out of my contract because its passed the 3 days even though Ive had complaints in since the day of my install. I was told during multiple of those calls that due to my unresolved issues I would be able to get out of my contract. The Winston-Salem branch management spoke with me on Thursday and said they would respond 1st thing Friday morning. Here it is Tuesday the following week and I cant get the manager Mr Lawson nor anyone from his branch on the phone and even the call centers have issues getting the branch on the phone. At this point I want my system removed because they are trying to stick me with a contract they have not even fulfilled because I dont have all my equipment. Im not happy and hopefully no one will have to deal with this situation after reading this. If the Winson-Salem branch is handling your install beware! Mr Lawson stated my install was not the only one having issues because of his subcontractors!
I was not told in advance that there would be a $25.00 charge. If problem incurred was not my fault, but ADTs fault, why should I be charged. That’s one of the reasons I would not recommend ADT to others.Chris,the technician, was great and fixed problem.
I wish i could give this company negative stars! Be careful signing up for adt. I wouldnt recommend it. We were told we would be getting all top of the line ADT products installed. First of all, the keypad they installed was not a touch screen like the one they advertised. Instead it is just an old push button one that doesnt even mount to the wall, you have to find somewhere for it to sit out on a counter. That was a huge disappointment! However, my biggest issue with ADT was that they installed a third party RING doorbell without telling me what it was. I assumed Ring doorbell was just a silly name for their product. I had no idea they were installing some other companies product in my home. Especially after talking to the sales rep who only talked of ADT products and never mentioned anything else. In order for me to have to video doorbell installed they made me upgrade to the highest video package they offer, which is more money. They said i had to upgrade to the more expensive video package in order to use all the video features. I signed up for the more expensive package, and about a month later i realized the app they installed for me to view the doorbell no longer worked, it was only a free trial. I could still see the video, but could no longer record or use the features. I now have to pay an additional fee to a company called Ring in order to use all of my doorbell features. ADT failed to mention that i would have to pay extra money to another company, and additionally charged me extra money for a package that doesnt even support the doorbell they installed, like i was told it would. I have contacted ADT about this and they tell me they use the Ring doorbell because ADTs doorbell has issues, but nobody wants to do anything about the overcharging or lies that go on to the customers. ADT is not an honest company. I would highly recommend you taking your business else where.

I work for a local government agency where we deal with this company on a daily basis. I would not recommend ADT to anyone. They do NOT provide good customer service, it is impossible to get in touch with a local representative and majority of the time personnel with their monitoring company are far from friendly and are not of any assistance. Definitely take your time doing research for your alarm system/company. Highly recommend looking into your LOCAL smaller companies.
First they broke my vintage canisters installing the sensors and gave me a whopping $100 gift card. Then the installer told us to call with problems any time. The sensor in the master bath malfunctioned the first week. He replaced. The second week the same thing. He told us to call the 1-800 number. Way to care buddy. We’ve had almost 2 years and it continually malfunctions. Always master bath. Can’t wait to cancel the contract!!!!!
Awesome company! Just recently got my security system at my business. Manny was a great sales rep to assist me with everything I needed.
Terrible! Please dont go with ADT they will rip you off. They make BIG promises but dont deliver and promises you extra credit but then lie about it on the paper work. Im so glad I read over the agreement and got out of the deal within my first 3 days or else I wouldve been stuck for 3 years paying way to much money for a terrible service. Also the tech is all about the money. He/she will up sell you over and over again, they wanna come into your home so its harder for you to say no to things. But then get mad when you tell them no. Customer service is awful! You go around and around in a circle trying to get to the correct person (so you think) just to be put on hold for 30 mins. The tech was not good a math when it came to adding up my bill he made multiple mistakes and I had to correct him on his math. ADT says they have you in mind when installing the security system just to guilt trip you but really dont care. All they care about is the MONEY!!
The system began randomly beeping, waking the family at odd times, interrupting business calls and visits. Technicians came out, shared that the system was being upgraded and told us how to stop the beeping. After getting out of bed too many times to stop the beeping and concluding that ADT wasnt really interested in fixing the problem, we finally terminated services. I am so disappointed. They did offer to upgrade the system for a better price - this was shared as an option of what we could do to stop the beeping. He gave me two options - have a technician come out...again or upgrade. I offered him a third...terminate the service. Go with a company that is interested in keeping your business while providing quality service.
This company is the absolute worst, first off they lied to me about the service, equipment and price. They told me I was signing a work order and it was a 36 month agreement, on top of that over charged me for the supposed free doorbell camera and the free installation because thats what you are supposed to get for signing contract, even though i didnt realize I did till after the fact. Their equipment is junk and will only record 30 seconds of video after motion detected and takes 4 minutes to reboot until it starts recording again so when my cat activated the camera I missed the intruder breaking in because it was rebooting. THEY told me it would record 24-7. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ADT THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
ADT is a ripoff, terrible custamer service, the service man told us all the long term good service techs quitting because they cut their pay. If you give them a credit card number or checking account number they will continue to take whatever they want out of your account even when you tell then 1 time only, I send them money orders. THIEVES BIG TIME,

Called to get pricing and Jesse to be exact of course went rambling on about the services so yes he’s very knowledgeable of the services GREAT. However these people are a joke and I’m glad I do not have services with them. He mentioned a promotion and asked to run my credit I asked is this a soft pull. So aswering the question on company standards by stating it’s just a pull from equifax I’ll only need your name and birthdate. NEVER REALLY SAYING IT WAS A HARD PULL. He proceeds. Guess what I get a Hard pull to my credit report. Upper management is sooooo sorry literally. And we will talk with Jesse about the misunderstanding y’all can go to hell. I’m in the middle of buying a home and this stupid rep has caused me to have a ding on my credit. NEXT TIME JESSE JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION and say not it’s not a soft pull. When someone ask if this is a soft pull be honest and say no it’s a hard pull like the person I spoke with after you. I will now be sure to say you can shove your 100 referral up one because I will not be referring anyone to this company and I will further more continue to make it known that they need to steer clear. I will take my money elsewhere.
Do not use ADT. I would give zero stars if that were an option. Their sales rep, Ryan, broke my ceiling when he fell in my attic and it’s now taken them over a month to even schedule a contractor to fix it. Cameron claims he’s been trying to schedule a contractor to fix my ceiling but they go weeks at a time without contacting me.They’re a nightmare to deal with. If an ADT rep knocks on your door, do yourself a favor and slam it in his or her face.
One star is to high. Was quoted a price then after the installer had drilled holes in my wall. Found out the price would be twice what I was quoted.
