Amazing independent bookstore. My husband and I went as a little date the week of our anniversary! I walked out with three beautiful books I’ve had on my to-read list for months. The store was spotlessly clean and the books are put out very aesthetically on the shelves. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming and friendly! I plan to make this a regular visiting spot.

It is a hidden gem. You can find a whole variety of books, from philosophy to kids literature. There is also a caffee where you can eat something. The kids zone is amazing, very comfy. I really enjoyed this place

I love this bookstore that began as a writers festival in Winston Salem, NC. The childrens section is large and has a sweet little section with stadium seating for story-time. As you can see, the childrens section is not the only space for little ones to enjoy a book! The adult fiction, nonfiction, poetry and cooking sections are extensive, as well. And, of course, if they dont have the book you want, theyll order it for you.A great and easy way to #supportlocalbusinesses and #supportindependentbookstores

Such a fabulous bookstore with a wide selection of books! The staff are so helpful and willing to recommend any book based on your preferred genre or even one similar to a book you read and liked. I really appreciate what a great job they have done during the pandemic to keep their staff and customers safe--from online ordering and contactless pickup, to requiring masks. Little Gem we found downtown Winston Salem thats super cute and tucked away. We love going here and finding our next new reads! If they dont have I stock you can order and either ship to your house or ship to store. Super easy and love the atmosphere.

Bookmarks is possibly my favorite place in Winston; the variety of books and subjects is incredible and diverse. The staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Located next to an excellent coffee shop/bar called Footnotes, its the perfect place to spend an hour browsing after a cup of coffee. Or, grab your book then sit down for some coffee as you read. Highly recommended!

Love this book store. They donated 2 boxes of new baby books to Novant Health First Steps as part of a project with community donations.

Called to ask about inventory and they were very nice and helpful! Great vibe and selection. We bought a couple books and will be back to support the store when we are in the area.

Bookmarks staff are well-read and eager to help customers make selections. They sponsor a wide variety of online book clubs, author visits, and signed copies. They offer curbside pickup as well as in-store appointments for browsing. Best of all, they support our local schools by providing books. They have found creative ways to support readers during the pandemic. They are happy to wrap and mail gift books out of state. What’s not to love? Enjoy!

Very nice book store with a great selection and great atmosphere. Prices are slightly higher than Amazon but Im very happy to support a non profit local organization.

Fantastic book store. The friendliest staff. Large selection. The host authors frequently. And they are a valuable part of our local community.

They only are getting 2 stars because they carry the book, Oh wait! No they dont carry it. When you order it they order it from somewhere else! I get to wait another week for my book! I dont understand why businesses think this kind of behavior is acceptable! If you shop here, call and make sure the book is actually there first.

Normally love this place and have supported them for years, but wow how things have changed! Went recently when we were downtown for lunch and tried to pop in with my 2 kids who knew exactly what they wanted and where to find it, but you would have thought we were criminals for trying to come in without an appointment. There were literally 5 other people in the store and the governor recently changed capacity limits. Honestly, the staff seems like they are on a power trip with their Covid policies and use it as a reason to try and belittle customers even when they are following all protocols. Thankfully, I won’t have to worry about making a 4 minute shopping appointment with the book police in the future and will just go to Barnes & Noble where I’m treated respectfully as long as I have my mask on!

Also - they have by far the best childrens books selection Ive seen!! Truly a neighborhood gem thats a must visit if youre a book lover!

Great book store! I was surprised to find a lot of books of all types of genres. They have a few I want to look up before I think about buying. They don’t have a great selection of bibles if that’s what you’re looking for, but I was told they can always order something in if you really wanted it.

Every time we visit, I love Bookmarks even more! Fun, family friendly, chill book store with fantastically helpful employees. Case in point: this morning my daughter asked for a mermaid book. I asked Guy if he could search by topic, and off he went. Within 3-4 minutes he was back with a list of books and found them for us. My child got a book with mermaids today thanks to his great customer service and follow through. We enjoy going to story time there when we can, and Bookmarks is fostering a love of reading in our children. I cant ask for any more than that.

I simply love this bookstore in downtown with the Footnote ☕ shop right next door. They have an amazing selection of books, local authors, hidden chairs and reading areas, a kids section with fun stuffed animals, a free reading and event area, and topics of books that teach inclusivity and tolerance for kids and families. The staff are wonderful and they have a rewards program as well to save on books. They have a ♿ handicap accessible entrance, parking spaces, and aisles here. Tons of free public events for kids and adults.

My absolute favorite place in Winston. I love that they combine a bookstore and cafe together. Footnotes is attached to Bookmarks. I love that there is a community of readers who share their favorite picks by writing notes. I love that they are locally run and that they have a well rounded selection of genres. Parking is ample and there is seating throughout the store and at the cafe. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Such a great place. The staff is so helpful and they do great things in the community. I found some great books that were just what I was looking for. They have a good young adult, history, historical fiction, mystery, and classical selection as well as cookbooks and cards. I would definitely recommend if your look for something to read.

This new, independent bookstore is wonderful! It is well stocked with interesting books, not just the latest bestsellers. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a special area to sit a read with your children and there will soon be an adjacent cafe. Great location within walking distance to many downtown restaurants. And-- FREE PARKING!

What an incredible asset to our city! This bright, sunny, new bookstore is walled with exposed brick and filled with beautiful books. Notable as well as quirky fiction, a warm and cozy kids corner, a section on American history, all the best cook books, thorough travel guides, and a vibrant local North Carolina section come together to create a true community space. What an opportunity to support literacy and the love of books in our city!

It is a cost bookstore for adults and children. Coffee + drink + food bar attached. A large assortment of books that might be harder to find. Great staff.

It is truly exciting to have such a fantastic and unique resource in the Triad. I love knowing that the money I spend feeding my and my daughters reading habits serves double duty by funding literacy programs in our community. And its a beautiful store to boot! Bookmarks is a wonderful community gathering space with value-added programming - that will only be enhanced when the connection to Foothills new expansion opens.

Visited the new bookshop for the first time and what a wonderful place! The thing that really grabs me is that the selections seem to sing from the shelves. Every one beckons. That is an extraordinary accomplishment. It lacks (gloriously so) the feel of feverish competition for attention and assault of the big brand stores. Instead, its like a polite invitation to spend time with each title. If only time allowed.  Thank you for making this happen. Our community will be the richer for it.

Plan on spending a lot of time meandering through this bright, welcomingnew bookstore. The titles are well-chosen and displayed by topic which makes it easy to locate favorite subjects and explore new ones. I quickly put several titles on my to buy list: American War, Not a Scientist, Disappearing Spoon, Exit West. Cant wait for the cafe to open!!

We love coming to bookmarks. Its quiet and they have a good selection of childrens books with a lovely childrens reading area. A perk is it is connected to footnote and you can get a beverage while you are looking at bioks.

Awesome bookstore! A+ customer service! Emailed Caleb out-of-state looking for book that had hard time finding for a relative as Christmas present and Caleb located it and made it easy even threw in gift wrapping and message for relative all within couple hour period of time. Support local bookstores like this one they are worth it!!

The store is beautiful and so, so unique. We have four girls at home, ranging in ages from 5 to 11, and they love, love, love the kids corner with cozy space for reading. We cant wait to attend future events here.
