I stopped in (drove 45mins one way) to check the place out during their annual No Shave November beard contest and it was well worth it.They have a great selection of beer and everyone working was awesome. I ended up buying an awesome growler of a beer just because proceeds were being donated along with anything the beard contest raised. I would definitely recommend a visit. But watch out for the chairs! They have a built in lean back function thats half rocking chair-esque, half make you sh!t your pants.

A place to grab a beer with friends or solo. With more than 40 tap selections of local beers, you can’t go wrong. Bring your own growler or purchase their. You can also get a flight with 6 tastings. Pet and kid friendly, you can also bring food from outside. Perfect with Mr. Lu”s Chinese take out next door! Recently they had a beer & BACON pairing.....well, enough said.

Great experience and so many beers to choose from. Our bartender knew so much about each individual beer and was able to help my friend and I find one we were both able to enjoy! Will definitely be back!

I cannot overstate how much I love the Beer Growler. I’ve been a patron since they first opened their doors, and they have yet to disappoint! Fantastic beers from friendly, courteous staff. Daniel and his family run a tight ship, with exemplary beer selections and strong relationships with various breweries as well as great local food trucks. COVID-19 is forcing some temporary changes to how they do business, but they are bending over backwards to make sure everyone still has a great experience. I’ll be back soon for a pint and great conversation!

A warm welcoming atmosphere. A very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Dan, the manager, can answer all your questions about the vast selection of beers they have on tap. There are soft drinks on tap as well if you dont dont drink beer. There is pretty much something for everyone at the Beer Growler.

If you enjoy real beer or ale then this is the place to go. Dont expect to walk in to a beer joint. This is THE place where beers and ales from all over, are available to try by purchasing a six glass tester. You can also sit down and enjoy a good beer while your growler is refilled. This is not a beer snob house. Its a great place to go with friends or meet new friends that enjoy drinking good beer. If you are new to this ale house, dont be embarrassed to talk to the manager or owner. They are passionate about serving what you like, not the deal of the day. Once you decide to buy your own growler you can drop by for a refill and enjoy a glass or mug while you wait. After they fill your growler the air is pumped out with carbon dioxide so no skunk beer. I like to stop in to purchase a six glass tester to try different ales. This is the inexpensive way to find a new ale or beer without the commitment of something you will just pour out. I dont drink a anymore, just when friends or my son drop by. This allows me to have good beer to serve without the worry it is skunked. Enjoy!

Love this place! Great selection of a wide variety of beers all written on a large, organized chalkboard of sorts grouped by styles. No real food is available, but Whitaker Square pizza will deliver! With a concrete floor that doesnt absorb sound, it can get a little bit loud and noisy when crowded making intimate conversation somewhat challenging - but other than that wonderful! Great staff as well!

Knowledgeable staff share their varied selections in a friendly manner. Pleasant atmosphere, too. Ignore the construction updates to the shopping center and treat yourself!

Cool place with huge selection on tap, mostly North Carolina or bordering state breweries. Servers were very willing to offer advice or small free tastes, flight and growler fill prices are reasonable, though vary widely depending on what you select!

This place is incredible! I will just tell you what I tell all my friends: I will drink any beer on the wall. Of course, I prefer some over others (completely dependent on my mood); however, they dont have a bad beer on tap.

I was here for the first time last night and was highly impressed! Our server Kelsey was outstanding. Despite the place being very busy she answered all of our questions and provided excellent guidance overall! I run a large spirits store in South Carolina and would hire her immediately. Friendly staff and great variety. The more we go back to visit, the more we like this place. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and will try to fit your personal tastes to whatever you would like to drink. You are allowed to sample a good portion of their selection before purchasing, so you can leave with a beer, cider, or soda you can really enjoy. And they have a great growler policy where you bring in a growler and get a token. They clean the growlers themselves so you dont have to worry as much about getting it super clean before bringing it back. Or if you dont want to get anything that day you can keep it for the next time you come in.

Theres so much potential for this place. Its a really cool a d fun idea. With good customer service, just in the wrong spot. It has a big atmosphere shoved into a tight space.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Over 46 beers available on tap. You can either order a flight, a half pint or a full Pint of anything they have on tap. Family friendly so you wont feel uncomfortable bringing your youngsters there. They also have a small selection of sodas that are non-alcoholic on tap including Abita root beer which is probably the best root beer in the whole world. You can also get either 32 oz or 64 Oz growler of any of their on tap selections. Owners and managers are very friendly and most of the employees/owners Are Family. They often have live music and other forms of entertainment... I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beer or soda and likes to have a good time and enjoy a nice ambience.

This place is the best! I didn’t fully appreciate it until I went somewhere else like it. Having tons of beer options is great, but what really sets The Beer Growler apart is their customer service. Every time l’ve gone in the staff is super helpful in helping me find something i’ll enjoy - and I get to sample 4-5 beers along the way.

After moving out of Winston-Salem (and NC) for the past 11 months, it was a treat to stop by with my wife for a pint! Dont be fooled by the imitations... there are none like the Beer Growler! They always have a premium selection of soda, ciders, sours, & beers A-Z and are knowledgeable about them!

This place feels like home. If my home had an amazing lineup of craft beers on tap. The variety and selection here takes skill, an assortment for everyone, arranged by style so very easy to find something of interest on the giant wall. Come in and taste, buy a flight or a pint, BYO or buy growlers. Sometimes they have a few special edition bottles.Everyone in here knows so much about beer and are generous with the samples. Great weekly specials and every month they feature a brewery and carry more of their rare selections and have that brewery come in and speak alongside a featured flight special.They also have craft sodas and ciders, sometimes mead on tap. Theres an app you can download to see their inventory levels. When a beer gets below a certain level it goes on sale. Great place full of great beers!

My husband and I checked this place out this afternoon. Its fabulous! Theyve got something for everyone on tap from ciders to IPAs, from soda to stouts. The staff is great at listening to what you like and then giving good recommendations based on that. It sounds like their selection changes regularly and has a good mix of well-known brews and specialty brews. I highly recommend checking this place out for your own personal beer consumption and also for a fun addition to a party (talk about an improvement on bringing a keg...).

This place is wonderful. With 40+ taps, homemade sodas, and solid pricing, its a great spot to do flights, drink a pint, or fill up your growler. If you are having a party, they even sell kegs or have special party rental options for growlers. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the wide range of drinks they serve.

Huge selection on tap to choose from and a very knowledgeable staff to help you along the way. Growler fills (you can purchase a growler, or bring your own and theyll clean it for you, then fill it) and beer flights. They do not currently sell pints, as far as Im aware- only growler fills and flights. This is probably the only drawback versus other options. Conveniently right next door to Mr. Lius, too!

There are a lot of awesome places popping up in W-S to get beer but The Growler is where you will find me most often. The owner remembers the names of all my friends and our personal preferences. The whole staff is very proud of their business and it shows.Also. I cant think of any other place with as many taps.They even have sodas on tap for the younger crowd. If you want a real selection of real beer this where you need to come.
