Fair price to totally strip a hood on a Prius and re paint it. What really shocked me though was how they got it to exactly match the finish on the rest of the car. I didn’t expect that at all. Pics don’t do this justice, but see before and after. Thx guys.

This is the second vehicle Ive taken to Maaco for a paint job! They are absolutely wonderful to work with! Alex kept me updated along the entire process and went above and beyond! He made sure no detail was left unfinished. I cant thank them enough for everything. Even their detail guy, Ken, jumped in and helped make things easier for me since I was on a time crunch. I would recommend them for sure!

I went here to get my bumper painted, and the experience was awesome. Friendly employees and everything but lets talk business. At first the paint looks amazing but then I noticed some cracks in my paint so I took it back under warranty. It last a little longer but now I have cracks all over the bumper. They tried to say it was my splitter rods creating stress this is why it cracked in the one spot so I took them off. It still cracks and its now cracking everywhere even flat surfaces. Good price but the quality is shy from fair. Will be looking else where to get this fixed!Heres a couple pictures of the cracking theres much more just hard to see on the phone.

Had a great and pleasant experience with them. Had my dads truck painted he left for my son after passing away. It had major clear coat issues and now it looks amazing. I got my car painted at Maaco one year ago. The paint still looks perfect like the day I picked up the car. These reviews made me skeptical about going to Maaco at first, but I wanted to give it a try and I am glad that I did. The franchise location at Wilmington is a great Maaco franchise.I plan on going to get a small truck painted there sometime soon. Hopefully the cost will be cheap like it was for my corolla, since it’s about the same size and easier to paint and prep work than a car. ~ $750 for a four year warranty package. The Corolla looked like new when I picked it up.The prep work on my corolla is was done well by Maaco. I had no imperfections on my paint, which was a surprise to me.After a year, the paint is still holding up without any issues. I told them to take their time with the car and did not give them a deadline, because of did not want to rush them. I don’t remember how many days it took for them to finish the car, but I do remember it was a short period of time and I was impressed.The car is a little dirty in the picture. I plan on washing it today, but the paint is great!

These guys did great. You get what you pay for here. You cannot bring a car with damage, and expect them to fix the body damage if you do not want to pay extra for that; if you only pay for spray, then spray is what you will get. You can even prep your car and bring it to then primered.

Very disappointed in the quality of the paint job. The money that was spent on the paint job was not cheap. Items not put back in place and lots of over spray. I was told that they could not do anything about the overspray. I returned the car so they could paint a section that was missed. The paint is starting to chip and you can still the the old paint when you open the doors. Lesson learned!

They did a terrific job

After reading some bad reviews I decided to take my 1999 F-150 in to get painted anyway based on price alone, its a old truck so wasnt looking for perfect. My clear coat was peeling off and the paint was very bad on the roof and a few other areas. I actually asked for the cheapest paint job with no body work and the price was right. Todd never tried to up sale me or tell me I should get a better service, but I did decide to get the package with a 4 year warranty. All I can say is I am amazed at the difference it made. Truck looks almost new and very glossy. Todd actually met me Saturday to pick it up even though they were closed, and still took the time to tell me about warranty and how to care for it for the first 30 days. No over spray, or runs, or drips and everything back in its place, so I was and am still very happy I took it there.

I had some paint repair done on an old pickup. The folks at Maaco were friendly and easy to deal with. The repair done was exactly what I wanted. The work was very well done and in a timely manner (even sooner than I expected). I will certainly return again if in need of their services.

The worst customer service experience ever. My Mother took her car up for a paint job. They told her 11 days but they called in 3 for pick up. When we arrived they could not locate her car.. and then we realized they had painted it a different color AND they had broken the tail light cover. When asked about the mistake, the store managers became confrontational and argumentative. She offered to take the car as is if they reimbursed her for the light but they refused and said they would be painting the car. She called the police and had them meet her there the following morning because she was worried they would damage her vehicle considering their attitudes. When calling that day for a resolution, the store manager started screaming about Everyone brings their car to Maaco and blames us for everything thats wrong with their vehicle! They then played keep away with the car and told her it wasnt ready despite being sitting out in the lot. I went with her to pick it up to prevent her the emotional distress. When I asked the store manager for the owners contact information he refused and told me to take it up with corporate. Maaco Corporates customer line rings until it hangs up but no one answers. I would like to believe that the franchise owner and Maaco Corporate are concerned that their representative is bullying women to the point of tears. AVOID THIS BUSINESS.

I took my car for a full paint maveoker. I was very nervous because I was completely changing the color. The guys were very professional and walked me through all the details. When I got my car back my expectations were far surpassed! They did an absolutely amazing job!

We had our multi-toned aquamarine blue Geo Metro painted to help elevate its look because it is SO GREAT on gas, but was not the prettiest to be driving. We absolutely LOVE the job that Maaco pulled off! The staff was great, friendly, and not at all pushy. They were honest and patient while we considered many colors to go with. We got expert advice, but no pretentious salesmanship. Our little gas-saver looks like a new ride, now. It definitely gets looks now, but not the same kind it use to! Thank you Maaco, Wilmington!

Recently had my 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser painted at Maaco -Wilmington. Alex, the customer rep was excellent, knew the business and conveyed more about proper auto painting than I knew. He kept us informed throughout the process and was always available for questions, scheduling and most friendly. I was thrilled to see the finished project when I picked up my great looking car.

Car looks new after body work and paint job.

Had my Jeep tailgate replaced and painted. Before I left the lot, I opened the tailgate and one screw fell out of the hinge and the other 3 screws also pulled through the metal. The tailgate almost fell off. They didn’t paint all of the new hinge either. The back of both mirrors had paint runs and the fender flares looked horrible. Appears they painted right on top of existing flaked paint. I would never recommend Maco Collision Screw-up to anyone!! The office guys were okay, not the body shop person. Never!

I got my car back with a wrecked front bumper, It was minor but could be seen, I literally just bought and put the bumper on the day before paint, I didnt contact maaco about it because I didnt notice it till 3 days after, and I knew they would never admit to it, and you could tell it was wrecked before painting. I also had the car painted because I was selling it and the customer didnt want to wait he just said he would buy a new aftermarket bumper. So good luck dropping off your sports car because they will joy ride it.Onto the paint:You get what you pay for. I knew getting a 350$ paint job wasnt going to be perfect and I could live with that. I suggest never getting a color change. The paint looked good from a distance, I found various small runs in the paint I could live with the biggest problem I had was the over spray and tape up job was HORRIBLE. They painted my exhaust tips, and the rubber molding all around my windows was taped terribly, you can follow the paint line crooked down the rubber. The wheel wells were all painted. Its really a shame because if they did a better job prepping I could have lived with the little runs and imperfections. I repeat, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I buy action cars and fix and sell them for a living, I unfortunately dont think ill be taking any vehicle back to them. it really is a shame because if they wouldnt have messed up my bumper I could have dealt with the bad over-spray by prepping the car myself before hand, but knowing now they either joy rode my 350z or in general were careless while moving it in and out their shop. I cant trust them to handle any more vehicles.

Ill admit, I was nervous about getting a cheap paint job, but my truck is 14 years old and I didnt want to spend the $3500 and up for a proper paint job. The plastic fenders flares and bumper coverings were badly faded and the clear cost was mostly gone off of the roof and hood. I am thrilled with the job Maaco did. Sure, theres some overspray under the front bumper on the skid plate and in the fender wells, but Im fine with it. They did a super job taping and the paint looks great. I dropped it off Monday morning and got it back Wednesday afternoon. I was out the door for just over $1200 and my truck looks new. Thanks, Maaco!

I have decided to repaint my car since the clear coat started to come off, I went to the local Maaco’s, they have different affordable packages to choose from depending on your budget. Todd helped me pick the one I needed. My car was painted as promised and completed on time. They even fixed my headlights without any additional charge. Car has been there 10 months, I witnessed the windows in the down position during a Hurricane, I have been 2 weeks to Death, staff is a “Production Not Pay Attention” to details that They Themselves have brought to Your attention, even after meeting with The Owners and still being assured that it would be taken care of and did not need to take to another body shop! I still do not have My Car and should have had the Marine in Jacksonville do the work. Earl Shive is alive at Maaco Wilmington NC!!!!

Be careful they dont lie but they want tell everything about the job you want done. For example I ask them to paint the top of my Honda Odessy. When I picked my car up the little piece over the rear window had not been touched.Does the average Jeo know that is not part of the top. Deceit at its best.

At first I had some issues with my car taking a while to be painted and there was some lack of communication at first, but after everything was solved I can say I am a happy customer. It is not a 10,000 dollar paint job but, they did great matching the color and fixing all the rust problems I had. I am a happy customer and Todd the sales rep seemed to be a very nice guy and was aware and wanted to fix any problems I had.

I had my daughter’s 2004 Mitsubishi Galant LS repainted by the Maaco office in Wilmington NC. The original paint color was silver so we decided it was best to keep the same paint color. We selected the Preferred paint service which is a Urethane paint with integrated clear coat. We added the Urethane sealer and also Surface reconditioning of the top and trunk panels which were very faded and pealing (highly recommend this). The paint job turned out very nice and really improved the appearance of the car. The paint color matched very nicely and had a nice metallic look to it. There was very minimal if any overspray. The car was done in the time estimate given to us. We received a 4 year warranty which will cover us if by chance we have any issues in the future. Thanks to office manager Alex and also Devonte along with their crew for doing a good job and being easy to work with.

Not a good place to take your car AT ALL. Brought my car in at the beginning of the summer, expecting it the next week. They needed a part ordered which took a few extra days which included having the insurance adjuster come out which I understood. But after the part came in, it was excuse after excuse and everyday theyd said your car will be ready tomorrow. Id call the next day and it still wasnt ready. Theyve gave us excuses we didnt understand such as were shutting down because of bad weather yet it only rained OVERNIGHT. We didnt get hit by a hurricane. So that made NO sense. A car accident on market st knocked out the power and then we need to take it across the street to get it on a frame adjuster to adjust something they didnt even explain to us ?? Had my mom call two days ago and they said come the next day at 4 and itll be ready. So my fiancé and mother went to get my car while I was at work and they actually got there late around 4:30 but the car didnt even have the fender on!! The paint on the bumper, hood, and door does not match the original color of the car so now I have a cream colored bumper, hood and door and a white car. The new bumper has a dent in it from them, a chrome piece to my fog light is missing, the hood was put on wrong because now theres a 2 inch space from the bumper to the hood, they crammed the bumper on and you can see where they did it too. I am not happy with Maaco. I waited all summer for my car to come out like that !? I will be calling the owner of that store.

Had no idea what they were talking about

Staff was very helpful, but the paint job was a total waste of money. The taping and masking was very poorly done so there’s over-spray on the trim and in the fender wells, there is under-spray on the lower front bumper, and worst of all, the top coat is continuously bubbling up or blistering. I’m no expert, but it looks like solvent pop, which I thought was caused by not allowing the previous paint layer to ‘flash’ long enough, or maybe spraying it on too thick. Of course, they blame it on “poor surface prep”, which means they’re not going to fix it. Not sure I really want them messing with it again anyway.UPDATE: Calling or emailing wont do any good; Ive already tried that approach as indicated in the original review.Just an expensive lesson learned.

Todd and his team are in a word OUTSTANDING! I am a retired Marine and am very much accustomed to going above and beyond the call of duty and that is precisely what they did. My 2001 Lincoln Town Car looks like it came right off the showroom floor and for a price that NO Body Shop could compete with anywhere in these United States. I am referring everyone and anyone to them without hesitation and they have my highest and most enthusiastic endorsement!!

Not the best work

I had a pretty difficult time dealing with this company. I bought their top of the time paint job. The pricing on it was a few hundred more than what it said on the wall. They said it would be a week and I got my truck back just over 2 months later. The first time I went to see if it was the wrong color. They said that they mix the paints by hand and this was the cause of it. There were other problems too, such as a 3 inch long run in the fender. They did repaint it and got closer to the right color (though still not exact) but by this time there was so much over spray that it just looked ridiculous. The badges were in the wrong places and one was missing. In the end they mostly fixed the issues. There are still runs and my door jambs are hand painted. I felt like they never really worked on my truck unless I called them. I ended up having to go by there 5 times and I probably called a dozen times to get it done. If you do use Maaco just understand that there will be many imperfections in the finished product, expect a poor color match, and plan to call them often to keep the process moving along. On the upside the staff was friendly and kind throughout the process.

Had an back window replaced after a damage clame. They helped me work with the insurance company to get repair done.But the company that did the back window didnt replace the plastic over the power window and I found a screw from somewhere And they did not sweep up the glass from the window. And they left their trash in the back of my truck. You would think for almost two thousand dollars someone could sweep the glass up or tell me why they couldnt clean up the glass.

Wow its hard to even but into words how crazy these people are. They cant understand something as simple as paint the middle of the wing black and the edges blue. The first time I went to pick it up they had the whole wing blue and then said well do it over for you. Then I got back for the second time and they had the edges painted black and the middle still blue and was saying people make mistakes and one of the guys was saying he thought to paint it the way I said. The guy that painted it painted the wrong way. I said you have my number why didnt you call me to get the right understanding? He said he was positive it was painted the right way!!!!!!!Up top of all that theyre still looking for all their money like everything was great from the get go LOL!!!!!!!

Dont recommend, they said I would have my truck back in 24 hours. Registers had it for a whole week because they done it so the little rust spot wouldnt come back.

The paint job was completed as promised. He went above and beyond what I expected to ensure that I was a satisfied customer.I was so pleased with his business demeanor and attitude that I have sent many of my friends to Maaco of Wilmington.I just had to have my hood repainted under warranty and I couldnt be happier. The wark was done as promised and completed on time. Todd is the ideal representative for Maaco. I would not hesitate to have more work performed at Maaco of Wilmington.

Had to take my car back 3 times to be fixed after chipping and bubbles in the paint 2 months after first service. Second service the chipped areas were to be fixed but you could see the caked on rippled paint and STILL missed some areas of chipped paint.. Third time I was offered a rental car because it was super inconvenient for me to continuously leave my car there for days at a time. Thought for sure third time was a charm but the paint is very layered you can see it,, ALSO my seal around my windows are so very damaged and the black has been torn off from the tape used etc. Very displeased with my paint job wish I had known or I would have passed and saved my money. Didnt bother to contact them any further because its a waste of time.

You get what you pay for here. Expect to see a lot of over-spray and imperfectly matched paint. If you can afford it, I would reccomend going to a different paint shop.

Maaco exceeded my expectations. I heard a lot of negative things about Maaco but after reading the positive feedback from this location I gave it a shot. Was not dissapointed, they gave me exactly what I asked for and didnt try to sell me on senseless things. Military friendly and you receive your car back in a rapid time. I went with the premium package and would recommend it. Thank you!

I had body work done here October 2016. The rear bumper was to be replaced due to a fender bender. When i arrived home after the repair i realized they didnt replace the bumper. Instead they just used body filler on the plastic. The problem is still there and the dent is still visible. Buyer beware! FYI Todd was not helpful like everyone makes him out to be. When i returned to file a complaint about his work he asked me me pay an extra $800 to fix his mistake. Not cool!!!

I am not happy at all. I was never called to say my van was done,however I rode by it was sitting out front. There are spot that were never painted the buff marks that were on the van are still there,these are things I seen at night. I left the van there didnt even me it, I will be going by there sometime to day to look at it in the daylight. But it will not be move till my van is painted the way it should be painted. Very disappointed right now

Put a dent in the hood of my car. After showing manger multiple pictures of the car before it got painted he still fails to take responsibility for the dent. I will not spend no more with this company

The experience I personally had this morning as of 30 minutes ago at Maaco was atrocious. I witnessed my friends mother being cut off verbally abused berated and then threatened to have the police called on her. My friend has had to return this place 4 times due to the lack of quality in her paint job. The manager himself admitted to only doing some of thr work claimed to be done (which was already paid for by client) and when the mother said thank you thats all I needed to know youve been recorded he lost it. Proceeded to use the f word and yell that he was calling the police. This all transpired in front of Two other customers who stood in shock and disbelief as it is so hard to even imagine that this was really happening. But it did. I would never bring my business here these people are awful and try to get over on anyone they can. BUYER BEWARE

I brought my car in to get a new paint job and my car has been repainted 4 times and still looks worse than when I took it in. The manager, Todd, has the worse attitude and does not try to fix the mistakes his team made unless you contact customer service. The first time my car was painted Alex told me my car had texture in the paint because I got a one stage paint. I then pay for upgraded paint because I was told that it would fix the problem. It didnt. I then had to contact Shamekia, the customer service representative who wasnt friendly or apologetic of my situation to get Todd to repaint it. MAACO then kept it for 15 days and when I got it back it still looked terrible. My raingaurds were flapping in the wind by day 6 and paint was chipping off my bumper by day 13. I took my car back to MAACO spoke to Alex and they were to repaint my car and not put the raingaurds back on since they didnt stay on. After 11 days I pick my car up and the only thing repainted was the bumper. When I go to MAACO 2 days after I pick up my car to address the issues Todd tells us he will be back in 10 minutes from the bank and had us wait 40 minutes for him to come back. Todd then tells me he is no longer warrenting the paint job and that it is acceptable to MAACO standards. If it were acceptable then why did he warranty the paint job the other 3 times his team had to paint my car? How do you not warranty a paint job you did? After asking these questions he demanded us to get off his property or he was calling the police. Todd has taken advantage of my wife and had her pay more money for the problem not to be fixed. He has no sympathy for the amount of money we have put into a rental for them to have this car over a month altogether. Todd is just a terrible person to be the face of MAACO in Wilmington with his inability to show sympathy and his terrible attitude when you make a complaint. I suggest doing research in this company before using them.
