She explained my options and gave great suggestions. The front desk staff was also wonderful. She helped me set up payments, and sent lots of appt reminders! Also very professional. The establishment is SO pretty and makes you feel like a queen bride!

Im posting this a little later, but things have been busy since getting married on the 17th of October and buying a house. That being said, I want everyone to know that I believe Vanya Designs is full of some of the most caring people youll ever meet. It may be a little bit more on the pricey side, but the price is justified. Their service is top notch, and youll always feel like youre their one and only customer every time you visit.Theyre an hour away from me, and I had visited them a handful of times to get my suit tailored. It was coming down to the wire, and I felt like I needed some more adjustments made to make my suit fit perfectly. So, my wife (fiance at the time) contacted Vanya Designs to let them know what we wanted done. We were loyal customers to them and they showed us that they appreciated that by making my suits last alterations at no charge to us. I didnt get to try on my suit until the day of the wedding, but it was PERFECT. All I can say is thank you so much for everything; it really made our day that much more special. So, thank you!

I worked with Libby to design and create a custom suit for my wedding. Androgynous clothing options in Wichita are scarce so finding Vanya Designs was a blessing. We began the suit pre-COVID and once the pandemic hit Vanya Designs was in constant contact in order to finish the project. They worked with us having multiple re-schedules for our wedding date and made the process easy and exciting.

I had my wedding dress and veil made by alicia and it was absolute perfection! She took the time to listen to exactly what i wanted and made any adjustments along the way to bring what was in my head to life!

Vanya Designs is by far the best place for alterations. I took my wedding dress to be altered there after this company was recommended quite a bit. Let me tell you, this place is the BEST!! The staff are so amazing. They make you feel comfortable and they take their time with you. I mean, from the time you walk through the door until you leave, everyone is just so awesome and focused on you. The price for alterations is pretty damn good considering the quick turnaround time and the work it takes. I wouldnt recommend anywhere else but Vanya Designs for alterations. I had such a great experience here. I had contacted them months before my wedding dress even arrived and they set me up with an appointment so they could get me in as soon as I got it. The ladies were so nice and listened to everything I wanted. Quite a few alterations needed to be done to make it absolutely perfect, and they were happy to do them. I felt like I was nit picky with things here and there to get it just the way I wanted, but I was always assured that they were going to make it the way I wanted it and I wasnt leaving until I liked it! I would take all of my future alterations here!

Vanya Designs is seriously the best! I am very short (4’9”) and they had no problems getting my dress altered to the right length! Also they ended up taking the whole top apart so they could alter the chest to fit me well and put it back together! I was so impressed with all the work they did on my dress and how fast they had it done. The price is a little bit higher than your average alterations, BUT it definitely worth it to have a dress that fit so well and looked so nice for my wedding day!

Vanya’s Deaigns saved us from having sheer suit disaster. We ordered my wife’s suit from Mens Warehouse, and while they were nice and tried to accommodate, their alterations department just couldn’t get the alterations right on her suit- she wanted to look like it was tailored to and FOR her and not an altered men’s suit, it was becoming such a discouraging process. Three weeks out from our date I called Vanya’s in a panic and told them our story and they didn’t hesitate. They got us scheduled in that same day and within one week my wife had a suit that was tailored for her! We also had custom face masks, a bow tie and pocket square made. I wish we would’ve known earlier that Vanya’s did custom suits because we would’ve started with them. Men’s warehouse tried, but they’re simply not equipped to alter suits to fit the contours of a woman’s body. THANK YOU Vanya’s for making sure my wife looked and felt phenomenal on her day.

They were the absolute best! When I sat down for my first consultation, I was worried about whether or not what I wanted would be possible and how much it would cost, but I did my best to describe it and I showed her a picture of a dress I liked that was similar. She asked questions along the way for clarification, and then, with just a few pencil strokes, she drew my dress, the one I had been dreaming about since I was a little girl.Nine months later and she had turned those pencil marks into the perfect dress. It was comfortable, flattering, stylish, elegant, and it fit me like a glove. I wanted to wear it forever.During the process, she was a great support as well, asking just the right questions and correcting any issues. My dress, even though it was custom made, had to be let out twice and had to have the hem redone. But as soon as I said that something felt off or too tight, she knew immediately what the problem was and fixed it within one fitting.Oh, and I should also mention that her prices are very reasonable; I paid the same amount for a custom made dress as I would have at David’s Bridal for a dress off the rack that I would have hated. Do not think that a custom made dress is out of reach financially!Finally, my only regret is that now that I’m married, I’m moving out of state and will not be able to come to Vanya’s again. I will definitely send my little sister there though when she gets married!

Vanya Designs & Custom Sewing was instrumental in making our daughters wedding everything that she hoped for. The entire wedding party was blown away by the gorgeous custom suits for all the groomsmen. The guys definitely knew they looked good! The bridesmaids dresses were all altered to perfection along with my dress, the MOB. They were great with scheduling and all the last minute changes. They made us feel like we were their only customer!

Vanya designs completely redid the hem of my wedding dress, making it a high-low skirt. There was a massive amount of material and multiple layers to be shortened and they did the most beautiful job! I also came home with the extra fabric and look forward to taking my daughter in to custom make a dress out it! Everyone there was polite and professional and the cost was reasonable. I couldnt be happier with the way my wedding dress turned out and would recommend Vanya Designs 100%!

Alicia is an amazing seamstress. My daughter is using the bottom of my wedding dress and asked Alicia to make from the bodice up a new top. The detail that shes using makes the dress look original. You would never know from the waist down the dress is 37 years old. GREAT job!

We recently used Vanya Designs to alter a wedding dress. She did a beautiful job of finishing off the fitting of the dress. Plus the shop is set up to make you feel like a million bucks. My only complaint was the cost. The alterations actually cost more than the dress itself. But I suppose thats the price you pay for quality... and some things you just dont cut corners on.

Alicia and her team are so sweet! I had actually missed one of my appointments, and they were understanding and rescheduled me in for the following week! Not only are they good people, but their work is so good too! I had a contemporary wedding dress that I wanted to look a little more risky, so Alicia listened to what I wanted, and delivered exactly what I pictured. She is so good about the little details that make the dress uniquely catered to the person wearing it. It is a little more pricey, but it is definitly worth it!

Vanya Designs did a great job altering my mother of the groom dress. The dress material was a sequined jersey which is tricky to work with, but they had no trouble altering it for me.

Vanyas saved the day! I had such a lovely experience with Vanyas with my alteration process. Their staff greeted me at the door. Took me to a beautiful and private fitting room. I had ordered a NYE dress that was all wrong in so many ways. New Years was days away, and I wasnt sure if it would even work. They came with lots of creative ideas on how to make the dress fit to my body type. Bippidy boppity boo! The process was painless, and they altered it in no time at all. Picked up my dress, and it fit perfectly. Now that I know what they can do I will be returning and telling all my friends and clients about their magical alteration skills!

Very unhappy with my dress. I didnt feel I got treated very fair as they knew the dress was too tight around by chest area after I tried it on during the second fitting. Was told I could wear it during the ceremony then change. I wanted to feel confortable wearing it and knowing I had to change right after the ceremony made me feel very unhappy!! Luckily I found another dress the next day somewhere else.

I came to Alicia 2weeks prior to a Christmas concert at the Orpheum and needed a dress for. I took a picture to show her and she designed my dress by the picture. Then less than a week I asked if she could adapt it and she and her team said they could and would. The dress was gorgeous!! I had lots of compliments on it and I will have it for years to come. Alicia and her team were incredibly accomadating and very sweet!! I had an incredible experience at Vanya Designs. I plan to have her design more dresses! Hopefully a wedding dress one day too!!

Alicia is incredible. She turned my dress from a lace up back into a zip up with a button overlay. It turned out exactly as I imagined. I was having such a hard time finding a wedding dress I loved until I discovered that all lace up backs could be changed to zipper with buttons. For some reason my mind was set on a button up back. I was still skeptical once I purchased my almost perfect lace up gown. I took it to Vanyas and described what I wanted done. My eyes welled up with tears when I saw my button up back for the first time. My dress was finally, “The One.” Thank you Alicia for making my dream come true. Not only did Alicia make my wedding dress perfect for me, but she also created a dress for my mom from scratch. She drew up the design, purchased the fabric, and crafted her a beautiful navy blue lace dress. My mom loved it of course. Alicia and her team can make you anything you dream up. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Vanyas Design! And by the way, there is no one named Vanya that actually works there. Tricksters.

I went to Vanyas because I read nothing but good reviews....only to come out with one of the worst wedding planning experiences ever! Not only did my dress look nothing like what we had discussed it, it tooks months to get it where it is, and cost much over the quoted rate! And most of things that had to be done to run up bill were because the job was not done up to par to start with! I finally had to deal with how my dress was and just take it home. Because I didnt have to cash to keep re doing it, was told fixing the already made mistakes could make it completely fall apart and as a bride who is 2 weeks away from wedding needed much less stress then a 10th fitting!!!! Very dissatisfied and now getting married in 2 weeks have to deal with what I have! I wouldnt say all work from here is like my dress but know what you are getting yourself into!

Working with Vanya Designs was by far the best decision I made when planning my wedding. The designers and staff were so kind and willing to make my dreams a reality. My absolute favorite part was getting to wear my dress more than once (by trying it on for fittings)! Alicia was absolutely amazing, she paid attention to every little detail of my dress. Having a custom (and locally made) dress made my wedding day so very special. I cannot imagine anything better!
