There should be an option for negative stars. I have been doing property development and management for over 30 years and have never had such a horrible experience with someone working on my house. From the very beginning, the window installer had a bad attitude. I tried to ask him basic questions that I would ask anyone doing work on a property and he was disrespectful, rude, surly, and eventually used foul language to call me a b*tch before I kicked him out of the house and locked the doors. I found out later that he acted the same way toward my tenant before I arrived. I had someone else there installing a dishwasher who witnessed some of it also and all 3 of us ( myself, tenant and handyman) were astonished by this Brian guys behavior. Along with this unacceptable behavior, he was blasting his music and coming in reeking of cigarette smoke on his ridiculously frequent smoke breaks. I guess he didnt have enough on the smoke breaks, he even had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth while doing the outside part of the door install. At one point he had a pry bar on the window and was using it so incorrectly that he fell onto his backside. Thats just laughable. The only question he would answer from my tenant was about installation time. He told her it would be 3-4 hours. He was there 6 hours and still not finished when I locked him out. The tenant and I had to cancel other appointments because he was taking so long. He refused to answer her other questions, such as if he would be reinstalling the blind he had to remove to install the window. He just refused to say anything, then called his boss to whine. What a passive-aggressive freak! So the installation is not finished and the blind that he removed was not put back up.If you are unwilling to answer basic questions about your product or service, there is a really big problem. He was on the phone with the company owner Renee Battista, several times and when I called her, she tried to blame his behavior on me and told me dont ask him any questions. Seriously?!? I would never pay thousands of dollars for an installation and not ask questions. Again, if you have any clue at all with what you are doing, you wont have a problem answering questions about caulk, etc. You dont blame your bad employees horrible behavior on the customer - ever. Absolutely shady and unacceptable. And after all this ridiculousness, the installation was done poorly. I had a trusted maintenance person verify with me that the window is not level or plumb and the sash bows out on both sides. The installer said hes seen the sash problem before and I need to get a tech out from the window manufacturer (Simonton). Ok, but that has nothing to do with the window itself not being installed level or plumb. On top of all of this, Renee charged my credit card the full amount even after we discussed that there would be a discount for the unfinished installation. Dishonest and ridiculous. Now I will be disputing part of the charge with my credit card company and filing a complaint and review with the BBB. There are already similar reviews and complaints for this dishonest and disreputable company on the BBB website.Based on the installer and company owners behavior and attitudes, I am surprised they have any business at all. Definitely not repeat customers. The owner was also clueless when I asked about tax deductions for energy saving window upgrades. All other window companies Ive dealt with knew all about that topic. If I hadnt already put down a deposit, that would have been a clue to get away from this company. The owner doesnt take responsibility for awful employees and blames the customer for the employees bad behavior, then charges the full amount.Buyer beware.
