Their cakes are beautiful and so delicious! I was craving a strawberry cake, found this bakery and ordered a quarter sheet of a Strawberries and Cream cake and a mini Hummingbird cake. They were ready as soon as I arrived for pickup and looked incredible!Seeing the displays, I also had to try a few other goodies! I got a berry trifle cup, a strawberry shortcake, and a slice of The Cherub. Everything was so tasty!My sister tried The Brooklyn Blackout, caramel trifle cup, and The Cherub, and said she enjoyed everything.So glad I decided to try this place and will definitely be back!

Delicious yellow cake. Thick, rich fudge like brownie with a light peanut butter frosting. Delectable double chocolate cupcake. We all loved what we ordered here! Our only regret is that we couldnt try more sweets. Oh well, guess we better come back another time!

This is where we go when we just want a slice of good ol’ fashioned cake! They have some pretty unique ones too! My favorite is the yellow cake with chocolate frosting and my husband loves the vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. The only negative I found this time around was my yellow cake was kind of dry. I had to have a whole glass of milk just to finish it but the flavor is delicious! A little more moisture and it would’ve been perfect.The place is charming but if you go on a weekend and you want to dine in…goodluck! It’s hard to find empty seats to enjoy your treats and the wait times can be long. We normally just get our slices to go and it’s a lot faster! Overall, good place for desserts!

My husband and I were on a date last night, from out of state and just discovered this gem last night. The honey, pear, ricotta cake was delicious! I love that they were open late and their customer service was wonderful. We will definitely be coming here again!

I love this place! There kitty Katrina cake is my all time favorite. It has been my birthday cake countless times, and was even my wedding cake.

We tried the Cazookie and loved it! Half chocolate chip cookie and half peanut butter cookie with vanilla ice cream. Yum! :)It’s in an old house with tables, couches, and a fun atmosphere. Great for a night out!The employees were very nice too.

Cute little dessert Cafe. Lots of fun treats and a cute concept. It came highly recommended so we went in to order a birthday cake. We paid for our cake (to pick up that weekend) and asked for a couple extra items to-go so we could try their treats. There was one young girl working all alone. We sat for almost 30 minutes watching as she kept taking orders of the groups streaming in and never stopping to deliver any of the orders. The house filled up with people waiting for their orders they had already paid for, many of which were to-go. She was obviously stressed and people were being patient, but it was clear there should have been another employee there to help. She did not have the training to handle the crowd alone. Eventually we received our things and left. Everything we had was tasty. The cake turned out fine, but not the amazing cake I was expecting for the price and raving reviews. It was moist but very crumbly and difficult to serve because it didnt hold its shape. Taste was average. Would recommend for a small treat (unless they are busy, then just dont bother) but I will get my cakes from somewhere else in the future.

Ive been to The Chocolate many times and each time Ive been delighted. Their cakes are delicious and come in many wonderful flavors. This time we were wowed by their Neapolitan cake. Strawberry icing over alternating vanilla and chocolate layers with strawberries in between made for a taste that could easily be used to define the word Neapolitan. Would definitely have again. Their dining areas are several rooms within what looks to be a cozy little home turned cafe. Wooden dining room chairs and comfy armchairs are both available to suit your mood. In addition to their cakes, they also have cookies, tarts, as well as shareable cookies baked as you order (called Cazookies) that are perfect way to cap a date night. Arrive earlier in the evening for best selection of cakes, because they do sell out!

Delicious dessert in a home-like environment. Lots of candles. Romantic/fun vibes at evening time. Make sure to order the frosty milk to clear your palate between the sweets!

Tried this place on a whim as I was at Schmidts Greenhouse and Market which shares the same parking lot. I was not disappointed. The shop is located in an old house turned bakery. There is dining available inside in the living room/dining room. We dined at the tables outdoors on the front porch. There is more seating outdoors at the back of house. The woman at the front was very informative about their desserts and was very helpful with any questions I had. I ordered a berry parfait, a mini vanilla cupcake, pink sugar cookie and a slice of their The Husband cake. Everything was good! My husband said The Husband was pretty good. Definitely will be back again and next time Ill have photos to share.

Good selection of items. The cakes are pricey for the size. The cakes were okay. Not as flavourful as expected and they use American buttercream which is super sweet. The Eclairs we yummy and huge.

Heavenly. Truly. Their recipe’s are absolute perfection! They offer a perfectly balanced flavor ratio which has resulted in unbeatable confectionery masterpieces. Crafted with love you can taste. It’s hard to pick just one item to rave about but if I had to choose… their salted caramel brownie is dangerously good…. And don’t even get me started on their kazookie’s!!!! 🤤 A true delight. Their delicious delights will be the bane of my waistline and weight scale 😅

Great spot, decorated so cute and very yummy!We had the Red Velvet Cookie Sandwich, Brooklyn Cake, Gluten Free Brownie, Zookie (with red velvet & white chocolate macadamia cookie dough) & coffee, of course! Next time, Id go with the peanut butter cookie dough on the Zookie and Id share it. You also have the option of chocolate chip. My choices were very rich together. There was a glaze on top of the cookie but under the ice cream that made it quite sweet too. Not sure if that comes on all or just the red velvet.Left happy as a diabetic in a...well, a bakery shop! Hahaha They had many other good choices and I cant wait to come back and try them!!

Very pleasant girls that took our order. I tried the funfetti cake. The cake was very dense vs moist and the frosting was dry. While we waited for the slice to be packaged, we sat on chairs close to the counter where we ordered. We noticed that we didn’t receive a fresh slice but one that was pre boxed. The box was on a shelf just below the items on display. I can usually over look deficiencies with a baked item if the frosting is creamy. We won’t be returning.

Wow, the cookies and cakes were great. Since I’ve discovered this quaint title shop off on Redwood, my family and I keep returning each week. My ultimate favorite is the cazookie and that was what drew me to this place. You should try the Cherub if your a die hard chocolate lover.

A few years ago we had their chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and it was the best cake weve ever had. We reordered this cake several times and it was great until this year. Got the cake in June from West Jordan and it was different. It was just a regular cake, similar to what you get at Smiths bakery. Please bring back the old recipe!!

The Chocolate is a fun dessert shop in an old vintage house. It’s easy to miss because it shares a parking lot with a gardening store. It has lots of cakes and cookies. We got the Kazookie which is where they cook a cookie when they pull it out of the oven they put ice cream on top. It was OK. I wish I would’ve tried one of their cakes instead.

Is almost impossible to find a more charming place in South Jordan/Draper area that offers great American cookies and cakes.Their selection is small ( I like that) but every cookie and every cake here is worth to be tried and, trust me, you’re going to enjoy most of them.I don’t like vanilla and love their vanilla cookies and cake.Their chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I have ever tried as well as the chocolate and peanut butter one (such a rich flavor).They even have a sale ruin of quality hot chocolate which I tell you is worth to try.Plenty of parking around and a wonderful place to take your love one or date to enjoy a sweet, quality taste of pure delights.

We bought our wedding cake from this company two years ago and loved it! Especially the chocolate cake with Raspberry filling. So we went back for an anniversary date. The Cafe was cute with plenty of seats inside and out. And we got the chocolate chip cookie with the scoop of ice cream which was yummy and a caramel million dollar bar and that was divine! I loved the texture of the shortbread with the caramel and chocolate and it wasnt too sweet which I really appreciated. This is definitely something I could crave in the future.

The Pizookie is to die for. The vanilla ice cream is so rich and creamy and the cookie is cooked perfectly. I can recommend this place as the best pizookie in greater salt lake area.

I went here on a after dinner date night with my husband and it was really tempting to eat all the things I wasn’t suppose to!I think they had one option gluten free or dairy free but I’m not going to dock them stars over it because I think I called before.I just wanted to go in and gawk at the amazing presentation of all the desserts they made and I can’t remember what my husband got, but it was amazingness.

1/2 baked cookie with ice cream is awesome and fun environment for enjoying a dessert. The hot chocolate is also awesome, and you could almost eat with a spoon! Front counter area is crammed and staff not very helpful with insight into the choices. Otherwise great value and plenty of dessert to share!

I really liked the vibes at this place. I just got a cookie and my wife got a brownie they were both reasonably priced and delicious. You probably need some ice cream with the brownies because there are super rich. We cant wait to go back on a night that is less busy so we can spend some time trying one of the cazookie thingies. Its a great place to grab some quick dessert when you dont feel like baking.

Atmosphere alone should sell you on this place. There are open areas but also cozy nooks to hang out with just 2 or 3 people. But then, the cakes! A nice spread and the highest quality. Most of the time we pick up a couple slices to go and are never disappointed.

Ordered this tonight through grub hub for some fam in the hospital. It was delivered quickly, and they LOVED it!! They said that they chocolate raspberry cake and brownies were especially delicious! This delicious desert shop is a must try. Their cakes are top notch. The hot chocolate is excellent, quality stuff. I particularly like the husband cake, but really any of them are good. We frequent here with our kids and they LOVE it.Also, if you are looking for a nice quiet date night eatery, they have couches all over inside. It almost has that college hang out spot feel, and we love it.

The cookies are my favorite! Very soft and great flavor. My favorite is the PB chocolate chip cookie. We also used them to cater cup cakes for a birthday party. They did a fantastic job and everyone loved them. They made a mistake a my order, but they were apologetic and quick to make things right.

The atmosphere is a cute little place, however the food was a hit and miss. Hits include the chocolate cake and chocolate cookie sandwich. Misses include the hard pink sugar cookie, snickerdoodle that missed enough cinnamon, and the gourmet hot chocolate seemed a little basic. I still recommend giving them a try!

This place is awesome. We showed up today for a birthday cake and somehow they must have missed our order. Their customer service was amazing and the owner made us a cake right away and drove an hour to deliver it personally to our house. They gave us some cookies on top of it and really went above and beyond. On top of that all their treats were AMAZING. They turned what could have been a really stressful thing into a great experience.

Such a nice cozy place to hang out. The Husband cake was delicious but so rich. The frosting is more like fudge. I dont know how they spread it so smoothly and nicely. Absolutely mouth watering!

Weve always loved The Chocolate. The only thing weve ever tried is the Cazookie (because its so good), but everything else always looks delicious too. I love how different and cozy the environment is. Also this location is much less busy than the one in provo, which is a major plus.

A must go for desserts. Had the cookie with ice cream skillet thing and it is to die for. The cookie is freshly baked and a little doughy. This is worth the money. The environment is cute with multiple tables or sofas and chairs to sit in.

Service and ambiance are nice. The food... not really... The chocolate chip cookie was in the salty side (maybe it was a salty chocolate chip cookie? So sad. We waited 30 min for a cazookie. They came out to let us know they accidentally made it to-go, and we said it was not a problem. To-go is fine. About another 20-30 min pass and nothing. My toddler is upset. My husband goes to ask if we could get our cazookie. The worker says, “oh so sorry it’s right here.” Then before it was packaged up, another worker tells him to put caramel on it. He looks at her (we are standing there watching) doesn’t put caramel on it and hands it us. We open it in the car, nothing to eat it with, it’s burnt, cold, and we take a bite to try to make the most of it and there is a long black hair in it.Grossed out and disappointed.

The chocolate crinkle was almost tasteless.The mint brownie had a nasty buttermilk bite to it. I expect a Mint brownie to be a rich chocolate flavor with an accompaniment of mint to enhance the flavor. This went missing on all notes.The strawberry vanilla cake had good strawberry flavor but vanilla cake was tasteless.The Husband was a tasteless yellow cake.My rating is solely based on food tasting.

Oh my, whatever you are doing just stop and go here, like today. Cute, local, amazing. The salted Carmel brownie was soooo good! The pumpkin gingerbread trifle is almost worth a 45 minute drive twice in one day for seconds. The cakes are so cute and and definitely on the list of reasons why I will be back.

The Chocolate is such a fun spot! We love the atmosphere, the staff is always so friendly, and the desserts are wonderful! Such a cute little shop, and the perfect way to top off an evening!

Got 4 different mini cupcakes with my fiancée this evening. German chocolate, double chocolate, chocolate with vanilla buttercream, and white cake with buttercream. They were all a letdown - dry and crumbly, lackluster in flavor. The double chocolate cupcake frosting tasted like it came out of a can from the store. The white cake with buttercream was so ridiculously sweet it hurt my teeth and jaw. In fact, I think I may have developed Type 2 adult onset diabeetus from that one cupcake. As I’m writing this, it is now 25 minutes after and my teeth still hurt.The only saving grace (and the reason this gets 3 stars and not 2) was the lemon bar I got for free since they forgot to ring it up - easily one of the best I’ve ever had. But they were sold out of almost everything, and the staff, while friendly, seemed very frantic and discombobulated, literally clamoring over each other trying to figure out who gets what.Unfortunately, I don’t think we will be coming back.

Sugar is always sweet. The hot cookies with ice cream on top were delightful. The hot sweet potato tasted like a pie with ice cream on top. Of all the desserts, the cozy atmosphere with family was the best.

This place has the BEST sugar cookies with pink frosting. These types of cookies have never been my favorite until I tried theirs. And The Husband cake is so thick and moist, all you need is a cold glass a milk. Cant believe I didnt discover this place earlier. And for the record, the name is misnomer. They dont sell chocolate, but thats okay because everything else they sell, with the exception of their eclairs, is BOMB.

Ive tried several things here over the past few years: the chocolate chocolate cake, the yellow cake with chocolate frosting, mint chocolate brownies, and eclairs. I love their cakes, very moist and balanced, but the other pastries are just ok. The ambiance is charming and theres plenty of seating. I love that they have ice water out, because I always need some water after eating rich sweets.

Seriously so good but they ALWAYS run out of the chocolate chip cazookie. They need to learn to make more dough.

I came over the weekend and I was unaware I needed to check my silverware to make sure they were clean. My spoon was dirty, had left over food from the last person. When I told the person at the counter, all they said was, Gross. Let me get a new one. I will not be going there ever again.

This is such a cute and quaint bakery! they have delicious treats, my favorites are the cakes, they are so good and have the perfect amount of sweetness to them! it is $5 for a slice of cake but well worth it because they are pretty big and you can share because they are so rich! the service has been so great each time i’ve been in as well.

Good quality goods from scratch.They always have enough seating that is very welcoming. Fast and friendly service. Weve tried the 3-4 cakes, brownies and the caramel trifle. This is a great place! The eclectic decor and vibe is cozy and fun. My husband loved their basic chocolate cake. Ive only tried their coozokies, which are fabulous. Last time I went, I noticed a new cookie flavor and asked if that was their flavor of the month. I was told thats one of their normal flavors but they ran out of shipments of the dough. Really disappointing to hear Im paying $8 for 2 cookies not made fresh on site... but it probably wont keep me from coming back.

The desserts were okay, not amazing. I had a lemon bar, my husband had a chocolate cookie. The place is simply decorated and furnished with what looks like second-hand furniture. I love the concept: a desert Cafe where guests can lounge on couches, gather in small rooms, or sit at traditional tables. It feels a bit empty, though. They could use some tapestries or funky art on the walls to liven it up and cut down on the reverberation, as it gets a bit noisy.

Really just overpriced cake. It was decent but a little pricey. The seating was like living room furniture (Couches, love seats, easy chairs) some regular style tables as well. Small place so it gets loud when its crowded. Ill go back but not often.
