Wasnt able to find a specific thing with the help of staff. Otherwise chill place.Their selection looked great. The soap that I bought was just on point.Huge selection in vitamins. So much I couldnt find mine. Like 6 isles of everything you can think of.Too much to list.If you want super healthy: Go there.

Fresh Thyme always provides fresh products. Ive only been disappointed once with broccoli which was not crisp. However, I recently tried your North Bay Produce, Inc. Sugar Snaps. You may not have tried the product so I will let you know it was completely inedible either raw or cooked plus very stringy. I just wanted you and your customers to know so they dont purchase the product. Thanks for continuing to provide fresh produce and to even try new items.

Every time we stop here, the same employee in the produce section barricades himself inside a fortification of greens as he looks at customers having to reach around his boxes of foliage. Stares at customers with no words, like Hi how are you today? Oh let me get that for you. Just stares at everyone inside of his vegetable castle. Hopefully one day we can all live in vegetable harmony, employees and customers alike. Maybe a murmur of acknowledgment for us someday.

Fresh thyme stores are always clean and well organized very helpful staff they do have really good produce

Very friendly service. Their chocolate hazelnut spread is delicious. Tomorrow Im going to try the roast half duck from Maple Leaf farms for lunch. My two dogs already gobbled down the pkg of beef roll ups. They didnt tear apart the house while I was gone, so I treated them after they calmed down when they saw me.

Hello, its the same as a Trader Joes. My only real complaint is the clerks are not draining expired jugs or rinsing blood from packaging and simply tossing it into the trash compactor. It drains onto the parking lot and absolutely stinks. Absolutely disgusting.Tell them to stop being lazy then fill out a comment card imo.

My favorite grocer in dsm. They have lots of foods that are difficult to find in the des moines area. Lots of the same types as whole foods without the ridiculous prices.

I always look for deals here but sometimes the produce is really cheap. High quality grocery store.

The baked good are low quality and full of preservatives. Taste is bad. A Betty Crocker cake baked at home would taste and feel better in my mouth. The $5 sushi is deescustING. Shrimp tempera was old and miniscule amounts of shrimp. Rice and wrap were hardened. Fresh Thyme is a fraud and phony Whole Foods wanna be but will neva be.

This is the place to go for great inexpensive produce. The quality is excellent and the deals are incredible. Also they occasionally have super deals on stuff. Today I saw a rack of cooked ribs for 7.95. Occasionally there thick cut bacon is like 3.99 a pound. Their frozen section is amazing because I find things Ive never seen anywhere else. Today ot was the spicy monterey jack and jalapeño potato perogie. As a Steeler fan that goes to Pittsburgh every now and then, I fell in love with perogies. Most stores give you one but ots boring. I love this place. Now there is a huge vegan selection which I am not. Also you can find buffalo meat, options for duck, amd a lot of seafood.

Its a great place to shop if youre looking for foods that are better for your body or better for the planet. (However, not a great place to shop if youre looking for sliced American cheese.) Also, dont go there if youre already hungry. They recently added fresh soups to a large open area of the store and the smells really get into youre mask and stay there.

Im being generous with 3 stars. Before the pandemic I was a weekly customer, today was my first visit back and I was very dissapointed.I went for the sale sea scallops and 12 pk Michelob Ultra. The scallops were barely bigger than bay type and the bags showed a lot of freezer burn, had to pick through to find 1 acceptable bag.They did not have the advertised Michelob 12 pk but had 6 pks, they would not sell me 2 for the 12 pk price. Math much?They no longer carry English roasts, only beef roast was 1 pckg of sirloin. And understandably they no longer have an olive bar, but the packaged dolmandes were floating in sunflower oil instead of lemmon sauce.To top off this annoying shopping experience I had to bag my own groceries because I committed the unhygienic crime of taking my own fabric grocery bags. Not planning on returning soon!

Great supermarket to buy fresh groceries

Easily the best place in the Des Moines area to get a variety of fresh produce. Not only is the selection available high quality, but the prices are wonderful. I come here weekly simply for that alone, but I have also enjoyed their bulk area (coffee, dried beans, flours, nuts, candy, etc.) as well the diverse options for regular shopping. Usually if there is a unique ingredient I am looking for on the shelves, I am able to find it here. Sign up for their weekly e-mails to take advantage of the great deals they always seem to have and youll be sure to save quite a bit of money on your groceries.

We used to have a Fresh Thyme store in Ames but since they closed we stop in at the Clock tower square location every few weeks to get some of those favorites. Large frozen raw shrimp and other seafood offerings and produce are usually purchased on our trips here. They have a well stocked and varied bulk item section, I like to buy nuts and grains here. The checkers get you through the line quickly.

Very different from any other grocery store. Love the variety of the in-store made cold pressed juices,soups, fruits cocktails and veggie dips. The fresh produce is too notch. Well worth the trip if you havent done so.

I absolutely loved going here! Ive just been once, but I WILL be back! To me, it reminds me of a Trader Joes, market type layout. But bigger than Trader Joes.I really appreciate how they marked a lot of their gluten free items plainly! Im not allergic, but avoiding gluten for other health reasons. So that signage is much appreciated! They also have a gluten free flour mix in the bulk bins, and its cheaper than the similar pre-packaged mix.And as a vegan, I appreciated the nutritional yeast and raw cashews in the bulk bins as well. Being new to both products, I could just get a small amount to try and make sure I like. I will have to come back with better bag to hold the bulk flour in next time I need some. Regular plastic produce bags dont work very well for that. Too thin...I found my current favorite gluten free pasta there too! Not just rice flour pasta, but corn and quinoa pasta. The spaghetti is a bit brittle, but it tastes so much better than the ones Ive tried before. And it doesnt have that weird smell to it when you cook it (that reminds me of bottle feeding calves when I was real little and lived in a farm)I will most definitely be back!

Vegans from out of town visiting for xmas. We were there to buy a mix of explicitly vegan items and some more common pantry staples. We thought wed have to make more than one stop and this was our first one. This place had everything we were looking for including a birthday card. Everything was easy to find and it felt really clean and well organized. Our family that lives here says they like the good deals on produce so they visit all the time. Wish we had one where we live!

I live across the street and LOVE Fresh Thyme. I get almost all of my produce here. They have great weekly specials, a ton of bulk food items, and even a pretty good meat & seafood counter.

Loved shopping here. Fresh meats and vegetables and fruits. Shocked when they suddenly closed the doors and closed permanently. Am going to miss Fresh Thyme and their fabulous employees.

Chopped Watermelon I bought today were rotten, when I called the response was, sorry about that, bring in the receipt and well refund you. Its not about refund, Fresh Thyme selling rotten products is the problem, I had to make sure they pull those products off so other customers wouldnt have the same experience. I hope the store manager reads this.

If we lived in the DSM area we would do all our grocery shopping here. Great selections of hard to find fruits, veggies, meats and many other items, all at reasonable prices.

My first time here, very disappointed! Most of their pastries/desserts number one ingredient is sugar, numerous contain high fructose corn syrup, sulfites, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavoring, LOTS of artificial coloring and several have margarine in them (margarine is one molecule away from plastic!!). I wont be back to this organic farmers market.

Always love the opportunity to shop at Fresh Thyme Market. Their setup is similar to Sprouts that I shop at when I winter in New Mexico. Staff are always so helpful & friendly.

Fresh Thyme grocery store always has the foods I want and the short cuts of veggies is always fresh. I can get in and out of the store, unlike the bigger stores. You rock Fresh Thyme.

Not sure what to think. Finally ventured in a few weeks ago. Was impressed at first. Larger variety of items than Id thought. Was impressed with selection of supplements. Purchased a pricey supplement (nothing to brag about with regard to prices on those). Got it home and realized it had an expired date on the bottle, not the box it was in. Called them, was told to bring it back. Returned with intention of exchanging for a fresh bottle, but there was still only one on the shelf, also expired and on sale!!! Imagine that!Picked up a comparable product, took everything to the cashier, (receipt, expired product), informed cashier I was told to bring it back. Cashier calls mgr., mgr. comes over carrying a large tude, trying to say it had to be an exchange, not a refund (applied to my $100+ purchase). I wasnt having that because...well, if you have common sense you understand. Manager finally issues refund and more of her tude. Cashier stuffs large sheet of coupons in sac before leaving. Got home and...you guessed it - the coupons were expired by two years! Not planning to return.

Dont like Whole Foods prices? Love buying quality products at awesome prices? Go to Fresh Thyme! Its an easy choice for lunch for me because of their meals and price range. Their drink choices are also really nice as they have teas, juices, kombucha, etc!

Not very happy that this location is not cleaning the carts after each use. Nor are they wiping down keypads after customers pay for their purchase. Many other stores, like Whole Foods and even Target are implementing these standards during the COVID-19 pandemic. Why are you exempt from this, Fresh Thyme?

Im so pleased with Fresh Thyme because it is (so far) the only grocery store in my area that allows you to bring in your own bulk food reusable bags so as to reduce plastic/packaging waste. I just spent about $100 there and didnt bring home/use a single piece of plastic or packaging. Thank you Fresh Thyme for your care for our planet!

Nice selection. Kind if a false persona of a health food store. There is organic and sustainable produce, but they also carry Tyson products so be careful what you put in your cart.

The variety of products is great. There are bulk items like flour and nuts. Baking flour for gluten-free. The selection of meat and seafood is good and staff is helpful. The store has a good atmosphere. On the down side except for sale items, prices are a little higher than the grocery chain stores.

Great deals on produce and deli meat. The rest of the store is mainly brands Ive never heard of and seem sort of pricey. Not sure if they are local brands or niche type specialty stuff thats probably be well worth the uptick in price? Either way I loaded up on delicious veggies and will be back for more when they all eat eaten!!

Produce is very reasonably priced but sometimes it seems like its towards the end of its freshness so you need to use it quickly. They have organic and vegan products. Also a few local products in the dairy section. The bulk whole bean coffee is pretty good, it costs 6.99 / lb for regular... I dk the organic coffee price but I think its 8.99/ lbs

I love fresh thyme. It is kind of a middle ground between Aldi and Trader Joes: some unique, awesome finds, good prepared food, and great prices on produce. Love having another reasonable grocery option in the area. The soups at the salad bar definitely keep me coming back for a quick lunch.
